Best gas prices around. That's all I can say I'm from out of town and appreciate hitting up Costco for good gas prices.

This is my friendly neighborhood Costco. It's one of my lifeline stores and honestly I can't live without it. The staff is always happy, cheerful and helpful. The store is always clean and most of the items are stocked up which are always at a good value, so no complaints there. I never had any issues at billing or at the returns desk either. The bakery always has fresh food items - love the hot dogs, chicken bake and pizzas it has to offer!! Its clean and up to the mark. However, I'm not a big fan of the cafe being next to the tire center because the seating area faces right at the tire center entrance, and I really don't like the chemical smell that's always around there. Otherwise, I have no complaints and I just love my neighborhood Costco. To beat the rush, always go by 8 pm to shop on weekdays, it's usually empty at that time. Happy Shopping read more

I have a love and hate relationship with this Costco. I love that they are the only ones that carried the most international/Asian food and good selection of items that I wouldn't find elsewhere. I also hate the crowd, checking out and parking here. It gives me anxiety every time I come here. Either they don't have enough cashier or self check out it's always busy. Costco's efforts to keep out non-members is obnoxious to members. They require people scan in but have no way of knowing if the people clumped up behind the cardholder are with the cardholder. The scanner barely works on the cards where you have to just sit there for a second or so dancing your card across the reader. If they didn't provide solid brands at reasonable prices I would dump this establishment. read more

Michael Vides/Tire Center: in my life I've never met a more friendly customer service oriented person. He works in an extremely busy and customer challenging environment and carries a smile with him every time I've seen him with a customer! I have gone in here several times so my review is overall. The parking lot is always full!! I do not get gas here because there is always a large line as well. The flow at the front door and exit are always a traffic jam since they check your membership before and your receipt on the way out, with as many members are entering and exiting they need to have more then just two people. The deals don't seem as good as they have been in the past. I understand they are Wholesale but the sleeve of bagels is usually 2 for a curtain price. They always go bad within a week. I wish I could just buy one sleeve. Fruits and vegetables are one of two ways, they were either picked too early and you have to wait forever to eat them or they were pushed to ripen and are bad within a day or two. They other issues I have notice when you do find stuff you like it may or may not be there the next week with no warning. read more

Wanted to try the Mango Smoothie that was popular on Tiktok. From the sign, I thought it would be a fresh mango smoothie with zero added sugar, but it didn't taste like fresh mango. It tasted more like dried mango (if you're familiar with that taste). Not my favorite, but if you enjoy that taste, would recommend! I would say this location is just too crowded with not enough space to move carts around unless you have to be single file lines. They need to make the flow a lot better. The Blue Valley Costco used to be really nice Costco to go to and they offered friendly customer service. The last time I went, however, the store was messy, over crowded, and the workers were quite unfriendly. The guy who was packing my items in the checkout forgot to put some of my items in my cart and when I reminded him, he gave me a nasty look and said something under his breath. Another worker in a red vest told my son, who was pushing the cart, to move faster because others were behind him. If you're looking to get berated and verbally abused, then this is the Costco you should shop at. read more

Always fun to browse the store. So many things to look at. Most of the time I go in for their bake goods. Huge pie fir the holiday for less than $7. I love their croissants. It is always fresh. Can't go wrong with their roast chicken. It a good price and ready to eat. Prepared meals are fast and save you time. From time to time I like to browse their clothing section, you find great prices in great items. Service there is good. Never had any issue. If you are tired from shopping, stop at the concession for hot dogs and a slice of pizza. read more

The good is simple. The shopping experience is great. The food court is worthless if busy. No customer service experience and low on help. Example: I entered at 6:20 for 4 hotdogs and stepped aside to wait. While waiting I'm watching numbers called off and people getting their pizza or dogs. After twenty minutes of listening to numbers all around mine I approached the counter to ask why I hadn't been called. The kid looks at me and says OH. This was his response, Oh. So I take my place in waiting thinking usually I don't wait like this in less I'm ordering a whole pizza. Finally 45 minutes later I go back up to inquire asking about my order. He mumbles and grabs three dogs and pushes them to me. I said I ordered four to which he tells me they're out and have to wait for a new batch. I had watched several dogs go out previously but thought ok they're out. He tells me they'll be ready in 5 minutes. Twenty minutes later he calling numbers for hotdogs. I approached again showing him my ticket where I get the deer in the headlights look. Finally got the four dogs with no apologies, no nothing. I looked at him in disbelief and left. Never again. As a thirty-something in Kansas City I've learned that people around here have strong opinions regarding which Costco location reigns supreme. You will hear arguments that the Costco locations in KS are not worth the time since they can't sell booze, or that one is busier than the other etc. Regardless of what others think I have a fondness for this location. Let's get one thing straight - all Costco parking lots are horrible. This one will not impress you, though, I do think that it is a little better than the Lenexa location. Additionally, while nothing really stands out to me at this location besides the vast parking options (you will walk if you want a stress free parking experience), I find it to usually be a fairly pleasant time when I am shopping. The people working at this Costo I've always had good interactions with, and I do think they have a pretty good selection of offerings, even with random pandemic related stocking issues. My pro tip is the same for any Costo - go during the week if you have time as it will save you time and stress. Also, take advantage of purchasing electronics and appliances here as Costco has unmatched returns and insurance policies. I'm truthfully such a Costco fangirl that as I type a dishwasher I purchased here is being installed in my kitchen OH, and lastly - if you are planning for a big party that will serve alcohol you should plan on trekking to the Costco located in MO. This is not to ding this location as it's local law that prohibits them from selling booze. read more

Although the Food Court service is lacking, and the door monitors are almost mute, the value and selection cant be beat in todays economy. Make sure you check your produce well before putting it in your basket. Like many other grocery stores including Walmart, bags of produce may have some rotting. My wife and I now use two carts instead of one because it seems they don't like seeing splt orders like it's a nusince we now just go though the main lines out from experience there employees seem to get in the way to over help in self checkout also noticed they seem to have different checkout employees everytime where there (turnover) , I still have the impression from past experience they treat the customer as an employee and the costco employee as the customer, maybe it will change we will see. read more

I went to Costco to renew my membership and buy a kosher hot dog. Rarely do I crave processed food but have wanted a good hot dog and someone reminded me of the ones from Costco. You can get a whole hot dog (enough for 2 people) and a drink for $1.50 ($1.68 including tax). The gas prices are great! Now that my membership has been renewed, I guess I will be making pit stops on my way home from work, or during the lunch hour. read more

A recent change has been made that will not work in a business aspect and will leave thousands of customers extremely unhappy. People spend hundreds of dollars on a membership and they choose to check every single one of them entering a location. I will be canceling my membership if this rule isn't overturned within the next month. I have been a member for at least a decade and am saddened by this situation. read more

Blue Valley Parkway is the second of my go to Costcos. It's not as conveniently located for me but it's got a better selection of ethnic foods so I usually prefer this one. Again, FPO and I plot our Costco runs so that we're there almost at closing (Monday through Friday that's 8:30 pm, Saturday and Sunday, it's 6:00 pm). Plenty of parking, fewer crowds. Fast moving full checkout and self checkout lines make this location easy to get in and out. read more

Costco member for years. Just want to share my thoughts since the founder retired and new leadership is running the co. I've noticed a few things that I hope are not a sign of the direction the co. is going in. Reduced number of promotional sale items since covid. Reduced sample stations, though it may be the time of day I am in the store. Samples are part of what make shopping at Costco fun and an experience rather than just a place to buy stuff. Now the change in packaging of the rotisserie chickens. I observed one of the employees bagging the chickens. They use a set of tongs and almost every chicken they placed in the bag ended up with the skin being partially torn away due to the tongs. The new bag is a terrible idea and this is why. With the clam shell packaging you could access the chicken, carve it and then store it in the same packaging for later. With the bag, although it has a zip lock to make it usable for storage, you can't access the chicken to carve it and there is no choice but to take it out of the bag which is extremely messy. Once out, there is no easy way to get it back in. I ended up cutting the bag on each side to expose the chicken and then transferring it into a dish for carving and storing in the fridge afterwards. The clam shell packaging also kept the chicken hot for a very long time even after getting home. the bag kept it warm but definitely not as hot by the time I got home. So, there you go, hope the leadership is paying attention and not taking their customer base for granted. The retail grave yard is filled with co's whose leadership's hubris did them in. Sams Club is just licking their chops to take market share in the same way that Wal Mart did to it's competitors. Yes, I know they are one in the same co. Next the membership cost will be increased. Lastly on my most recent visit I used the self check out. I like to do that because then I can put my goods in boxes the way I want to without crushing anything or having hot stuff against cold stuff, etc. An employee offered to have me go through the assisted check out but I declined. He kept lecturing me as I checked out that I could have gotten out faster and that the self check out station was for folks with less goods. There is a person checking membership cards before entering the self check out that ushered me into that area. I did not appreciate being lectured when I am spending upwards of 200.00. I will check out how I please and ensure the goods I buy are boxed the way I want. Let's remember who is paying the bills Costco. I still find value and will be a member but...........nothing is guaranteed. read more

This Costco is on the Kansas side so they can't sell wine so that automatically makes it not as good as the Missouri Costco's, but it's still pretty awesome. I mean- it's Costco! It's the American dream in here. Lots of stuff! More stuff than you need! Stock up! Fill your cabinets until the hinges fall off! There are some things I will always buy here because they're always good deals- like Diet Coke. I'm an addict and drink at least 4 a day (I know I know it's a terrible habit, but at least it's not heroin- this is my pathetic justification) and I can get a 35 can pack here for usually around $10. Toilet paper is also a great deal here. As are paper towels and tissues. Pretty much any household paper products and cleaning products are worth buying here because the prices are much better than grocery stores and often better than Target. The Costco store brand, Kirkland, makes very good products. I'm currently obsessed with the Kirkland Asian snack mix. The nuts are good too, and much cheaper than other stores. Milk, cow and almond varieties, are priced better here than anywhere else too. I also like Costco for dvds and books. They don't have a huge selection but they've always got the latest releases for an inexpensive spur of the moment grab. Nice, efficient staff. Easy parking. They sell gas too, and it's usually at least a few cents cheaper than regular gas stations. Can't go wrong here. read more

I was surprised to see appliances here. Otherwise, the items for sale are similar to those at my Sam's Club. They only accept Visa cards, but the Costco Anywhere Visa card offers 2% rebates for Costco purchases, 3% on restaurants and travel, 4% on gas, and 1% on everything else. The prices were very good, and the checkout lanes moved quickly, but I didn't notice self checkout lanes like at Sam's. Membership includes travel and new car deals. They also have a deli with some pretty good deals.Very nice. read more

Costco has great products and good deals at the pharmacy. BUT if you have to deal with an employee or use the self-check out watch out. The employees are rude and treat you like you're stupid. They barely smile or say hi, for folks who get paid more than they should for just standing around, they could be more friendly towards the customers. For a while now they've had someone who checks your membership card before self-check. You can't checkout without one so not sure why they are doing this but it's ridiculous. The need to take a page from Sam's who has a great self check out process with or without the mobile app. read more

I love Costco for so many reasons. They carry a wonderful variety of products that are good quality for a fair price. I get most of my groceries here too. Rather than going to Sams, I decided to get a membership here because I heard the quality of food is better. This could not be more true. Most of the products I buy end up being organic. At first, I wasn't trying to buy organic. I was simply trying to get the best deal. But at Costco, you can find organic thats surprisingly still the best deal! Furthermore, I love how hard the employees work. Unlike many other grocery stores (Price Chopper for one), the cashiers are extremely fast. They are like this 7 days a week! Lastly, I love Costco because the company treats their employees good and this is something that should be important to every company (it's certainly not with Wal Mart). I'm hardly ever down in Overland Park, KS so the chances of me going to this particular Costco location is slim unless I'm visiting my friend. My usual Costco location was the one in Kansas City, MO on Linwood Blvd. I needed to pick up something real quick from Costco and this was the closest location to where my friend lived. I was told that this Costco was A LOT busier than the Linwood Blvd, but since I didn't have anything but time to kill on m weekend, I decided to stop by. The parking lot was large and my friend wasn't kidding that it was busy. Luckily, I found a parking spot near the entrance. The layout of this Costco was somewhat similar to the Linwood Blvd location. The TVs and electronics were in the front as any other Costcos. The food and produce were in the very back and the frozen sections were on the right side of the building. I know the descriptions might sound vague but it makes sense to me. lol It was pretty busy but I was in and out of there in less than 20 minutes. I guess I was lucky to buy what I needed within the time I was there. read more

Costco is a conundrum. They get things - then they disappear, never to return again. If you like something - you have to grab it. That said, they are our "go to" grocery store, and "go to" everything else. Good prices, good items, and their trend toward organic items is very welcome. Actually, the store itself is great. This one star review goes straight to Vanessa, who is apparently assigned to help people with self checkout. Well, first of all, my husband (who admittedly doesn't ever self check while I do all the time), started to box items I had already checked. Vanessa descended like a hawk and in a very condescending, nearly angry tone, said YOU CAN'T PUT ANYTHING IN A BOX UNTIL IT'S ALL PAID FOR. He said, okay, okay, so sorry. Now she's checking to see if everything on the tray has been scanned and she can't find the Krill 500 mg on the scanned items. I showed her - three times - and she kept saying no, it's 500. I said yes, it's 500 mg. She's looking for a 500 count and now I'm getting pretty frustrated because she's acting like I'm trying to put something over on her. Then she says if you'd done it right the first time, this wouldn't have been necessary. Okay, whatever. Now I'm almost done and she's watching me like a hawk and I have a container of Parmesan cheese with no label and I'm planning to just leave it. And now I hear, "ma'am your cheese! You didn't pay for the cheese." I took it over to her, said I can't scan it and don't want it and told her she could be a little nicer. She told me she was perfectly nice and this is her job. I found her insulting and suspicious. There's a way to speak to a customer without making them feel "less than." She had no social skills and I would stay as far away from her as possible. Remember, VANESSA. Costco, you can do better than this. I have been a Costco member for 20 years and have never been treated like this. read more

This is the best Costco! It's easy to access, they've recently repaved the parking lot, and the fuel is close. The associates are great, always willing to help. When they have samples, they are on point! Buying in bulk is awesome since it saves you in the long run, and I don't think I've ever seen the store in a state of disarray which is a great thing to note! read more
