RE: Mobile phone body repair at Batteries +, 15135 w 119th, Olathe, KS December 2023 - Batteries + repaired the phone screen for $180. April 2024 - The phone screen is dark making it not possible to see/read what is on the screen. April 13, 2024 - Per phone call, Batteries + agreed to replace the screen...just come in today. Upon arrival, a different person stated that a "younger" employee gave false information. According to that person, because the screen needed to be repaired in December, Batteries + was unable to assess the condition of the phone making the warranty of the new screen void. As a result, the $180 paid to have the screen repaired was good for less than 4 months. BEWARE. According to the person, if Batteries + cannot assess your phone before the repair, the warranty of their repair is voided. BEWARE. I also have issues with the salesperson; he was not courteous. As we left the store, the person said, "Have a nice day." My response was "too late". There were several similar back-and-forth responses. Finally, the person said, "We can do this all day." And repeated for me to "Have a great day". My response was "No". read more

If I go to their location at 135 & Metcalf, they replace the battery in a matter of seconds. The Olathe store just frustrates me. I'm angry at myself for not learning this lesson. Made an appointment to have a phone battery replaced 2 days before. Drove 20 min the store. Walked into the store, the clerk asked "why are you here" after telling the young kid why... was told "oh, someone must have come in and we used that battery, so we don't have one".... and he just stood glaring at us... not asking, if we can reschedule or when a battery would be back in stock... we said ok and walked out... should have ran.... 1st time at this battery plus store and last... had good luck at other stores... but not this one... keep driving. read more

I went to Wal-mart the other day to have two watch batteries changed. They have changed their policy and will only put batteries in watches they sold. They however told me to go to Batteries Plus. Batteries Plus was awesome. I gave them the two watches and the had a lifetime battery for $14.99 and a regular battery for $8.99. I love that I had options. They had them both changed and working in less than 5 mins and I was out the door with two working watches. I would recommend anyone to go here. I also went here a few years ago to get a battery for our surge protector at home. The huge ones that cost a couple hundred. Best Buy wanted to sell us a new protector and we only need a battery for it. Batteries Plus sold us the exact battery we need, didn't try and sell us something we didn't need and saved us $100.00. read more

About 3 months ago I bought a battery for a riding mower The battery had a six month warranty . Batteries plus OLATHE activated the battery for me originally and put the water in the battery . After the battery would not hold a charge I took it in to batteries plus they said immediately wow this battery is low on water and that that makes the warranty void . Oh, batteries. One of life's little necessities...unless you are the Unibomber and live in a cabin with no need for anything electrical in the slightest. For those of us spoiled folks in JoCo who appreciate the invention of these delightful devices, batteries are required. The problem is, sometimes, some whacko invents something that requires a battery nobody has ever heard of before. "A Z7-BF3-T battery? Sure, I can get that at Target, right??" No, you cannot get that at Target. Where you can get it, however, is Batteries Plus. This place has every freakin' battery you will ever need...and if they don't have it, they can get it for you. They also have a whole wall of light bulbs, anything from the standard to the decorative to the obscure. The people are not overly friendly, but not rude or even close to surely. If I worked in a store that sold only batteries, I'd probably not be the cheeriest chap in the world either. However, they know their stuff, and are willing to go the extra step to make sure you get what you need. And, they take your old batteries (laptops, cell phones, etc.) - so don't throw that stuff in the trash! read more

I went to this Olathe store before a couple of times for a watch battery replacement. Went there again in Feb 2017 to replace a watch battery in a Guess watch I'd worn for several years. After the installation, almost instantly, my wrist broke out in a rash right where the back of the watch sits on my arm. I tried cleaning the back of the watch with different cleaners, but every time I put the watch on, I got the rash. Same thing when I tried it on my right wrist, so I knew something was wrong. I went to the store and told one of the employees what happened (not the man who replaced the battery). He just kept telling me that they just replaced a battery and nothing they did would cause this. Several times he told me this and would just stare at me. I asked if they could replace the battery, but he said no and that it wouldn't make a difference because they only use one brand of batteries. I was very frustrated knowing that I'd never had this happen before and the watch was fine BEFORE they replaced the battery. So a couple months later I was in Topeka and saw a Batteries Plus store there. Stopped in and told the young man what happened with the rash after the Olathe store replaced the battery. With no questions asked, he put in another battery and didn't even charge me. I have been wearing the watch all the time since then and had no rash! I was so appreciative for their great customer service. I hope the Olathe store will do better on THEIR customer service and try to figure out solutions rather than just snubbing the customer and dismissing their claim. read more

I went in there 9/14 about 5pm and inquired about my iPhone which has an intermittent connection when you plug in the charging cable and is difficult to get to charge. The man who helped me wouldn't let me finish my sentences and kept interrupting me. He told me it was probably the cable that was causing the problem. I told him that it happens with multiple cables however he abruptly exclaimed "I don't care! Stuff happens with electronics!" he continued to say something about how a part in the iPhone could have worn out, contradicting his rude assertion that it was the cable and thoroughly confusing me. Condescendingly he proceeded "Do you understand what I'm telling you?? You're having a hard time over there." He then made sarcastic patronizing gestures of plugging in the cable and said "The cable! It's broken!" All this exchange happened in front of about two other customers and 1 or 2 other employees. I told him I didn't appreciate the attitude, took my iPhone and went to uBreakIfix in the same shopping area. The gentleman who helped me cleaned some gunk out of the port of my iPhone and solved the problem without even charging me. read more

He took the battery back out, handed it back to me and said 'sorry, I can't help you'. Watch was a special Mother's Day gift from my son-left a little angry and hurt. Just a heads up, this is going to be long. I would highly recommend against Batteries Plus in Olathe at 119th and Blackbob. I took my . phone in to have my screen replaced on Sunday (my phone was in 100% working condition, they tested like 25 things to make sure everything was working prior to starting). They told me to come back in 2 hours, I called after an hour and they told me they were on their second screen because the first screen didn't work properly and to come back in 30 minutes. I came back in 30 minutes and at this time they had tried I believe 4 different screens and lost all touch screen capability to my phone. My phone is an iphone, so basically my phone is a brick because I can't unlock it without touch screen since it was turned off for the repair. The techs were super nice and said the owner would replace my phone and this has happened before. I called the owner that evening and he said he'd give me $125 towards replacement of a new phone "take it or leave it". I was flabbergasted. I called corporate and they got in touch with him and he said that the reason he is offering me this is because I didn't pay for the original repair...the techs told me I didn't owe them anything and they put my original broken screen back on my phone and I walked out with a broken phone when I walked in with a broken screen working phone. What would I even pay for?!?!? I gave up the fight and sent my husband to pick up the check today and the owner told his staff not to give me the check until I relinquish my phone to him...excuse me?!?! Why would he need my phone...that makes no sense. The techs were even confused and thought this was BS. Sorry for the giant novel. read more

My car was sluggish starting and even needed a jump start one morning so I went in for a free battery check. I was promptly greeted and assisted by a friendly young employee. He immediately checked the battery and diagnosed that it was indeed the battery and not alternator. He provided replacement options, explained warranties, and even honored the online order discount even though I was purchasing in-store. In just a few more minutes, the new battery was installed and I was on my way! This was one of my worst experiences with a retail store. They had me scheduled an appointment online to replace a battery in my phone. I received the confirmation email that the appointment was booked. I drove a half hour for that appointment only to be told by an unqualified Clerk that nobody was there that could work on the phone. He blamed it on the corporate website not working correctly. Many years ago, I purchased the lifetime battery replacement for two of my watches and have gone back several times over the last several years for replacement batteries. The price seems a little high upfront (about $15, I think it was), but it's really not if you plan to keep your watches for years and return there like I have. It's nice to only pay once and then get the rest for "free". These batteries have definitely paid for themselves by now and it's been quick and easy every time I've stopped in. The associates who work there are not exactly friendly, but after living in JoCo for 13 years, I'm quite used to that! At least they get me what I need, so I am satisfied with that. read more
