Think back to your first toy/book as a kid and how excited you were (hopefully) when you saw said toy/book and for the techies..remember when you built your first computer (overclocked CPU, max ram, water cooler) how proud and accomplished you felt. This is the feeling every time I head into Micro Center. If you need computer parts, wall mounts, cabling boxes, photography/audio visual equipment, RAM, routers etc. then Micro Center is your one stop shop!

Pure laziness!!

Decided to go by today for a CD binder. They were out of stock. Andy was nice enough to help me out, by being kind, attentive and great customer service!! as well as Joseph when it came to looking for an internal Blu-ray drive for my PC in which they didn't carry. While others just walked by and didn't offer any assistance!! Get rid of those smucks!!! They don't want to work and are pure lazy!!! Like putting tape and signs on top of printers!!! As I was n search of purchasing one.

I have been wanting to visit a Micro Center for the longest time and jumped on the opportunity to stop by when I was visiting Houston. Walking inside for the first time gave me the same vibes as Fry's Electronics with all types of electronics you can find online directly in front of you. I was surprised to see so many different keyboard parts that you can usually only find on specific websites, but everything I needed was combined into one aisle. Comparing the prices of graphics cards and motherboards just seems like a no-brainer to purchase these parts are Microcenter since the deals are discounted compared to other retail websites. I ended up not making a big purchase to take back home, but next time I come back I'd be sure to buy my next graphics card. As I was leaving, I wanted to buy something Microcenter branded like a T-shirt or tote bag, but the best I could find was a USB stick near the registers. I'll be sure to visit the next closest store in LA, but overall this visit was an awesome experience as a computer enthusiast.

The proud moment after putting everything together...not realizing it wouldn't even show a thing on the display and be DOA....

Now that the ordeal is over and I have a cooler head, I thought I'd re-write my original 1 star review. This time around in my 30 or so years of using homemade computers, I had waited so long that I could only really reuse my SSD, HDD, GPU, and my Windows license so I though I would splurge and build a machine based on the latest and greatest 13th gen i9, DDR5, and Z790 motherboard. As luck would have it, they had a combo deal with ASUS TUF motherboard and ZSkill DDR 5 RAM. The only things I weren't sure about was what case I would get that wouldn't have RGB, what power supply to get, and what type of CPU cooler I would need since those aren't included. I used to get my parts through newegg and amazon but I really wanted to help out local physical stores so I went with Microcenter. When I went to Microcenter, the gentleman there in the back with the "build your own PC" group was very helpful. I got what I needed and happily went home and started building my machine. It was a beautiful build if I do say so myself. Cable management and everything. But the damn thing would not register/start and would just freeze on startup not even giving a prompt. I took things apart again and double checked every detail - CPU was seated right, memory was seated right, no power cords had come loose, No chasis cables were loose. One thing I was hoping by purchasing from a local store was that if something went wrong, they would stand behind the product, but that wasn't the case. You are on your own almost as much as if you bought your parts online. They have a "knowledge bar" and the first person to help me there made an attempt but he kind of just gave up too and told me to take out the part and replace it. In my mind, I could have done that with amazon as well and instead of going through the trouble of going to Microcenter just drop it off at Whole Foods and get dinner too. To their credit, they replaced the MB but it also did not work so it was obvious that there is some sort of failure between the MB, CPU, and RAM...but then THIS WAS A COMBO so you'd think they'd thoroughly test it first to make sure it all works well together. So today, I thought I'd give them one last chance. If they could make it work then they wouldn't lose the sale but the guy was basically saying that if I put everything back in the boxes, i'd get a refund. If he had to disassemble it, there would be like $117 charge (something like that). Zero attempt to make me me go home with a working computer. He told the guy in front me with a new laptop that he also could return his laptop but if he tried to troubleshoot it, there would be a $40 fee. That's the Knowledge Bar in a nutshell - low level stuff. So I disassembled everything for the 4th time...in the store thankfully. At least they gave me the dignity of not having to do it in the parking lot like in Autozone with an alternator. As mentioned though, this was my 4th time trying to make this work and taking things apart so the whole thing took a half hour max. To their credit again, the cashiers gave my money back and didn't hassle me, but it didn't have to get this far. They could have first chosen a combo pack that worked. They could have took the machine in the back and used their weight with the manufacturers to troubleshoot the problem. Really the only benefit is that they are local and you get the parts there. I'm not saying don't buy from here, in fact the opposite. Please buy your parts here when you can, but just remember that you ARE still on your own when it comes to the build, even if it's not your fault and you've done everything right. The knowledge bar is there mostly for older/inexperienced people to come and put ram in their computer or back their data up. It's not for the guy behind the counter to be your buddy and figure out why your build doesn't work, even though that could potentially be a huge advantage for them over amazon and newegg. So I'm back to square one. I feel bad because I know they can't resell the parts I returned and really the issue is with the memory/motherboard so the i9 chip, CPU cooler, Case, and PSU were innocent bystanders, alas, again, they could have spent an extra half hour with the machine and make it work but they didn't. On another note, ASUS motherboards seem to have this issue alot. I've been searching on PC build forums and it's not just limited to this model. Last time I'm buying ASUS. My old AsRock board has been a champ for 10 years now.

Great store, has all the parts you may need for your PC builds. The 7800X3D + motherboard + 32GB DDR5 bundle is a very sweet deal that they offer. Carlos greeted us quickly when we entered the store, and was very helpful. He let us check out the sim racing setup (will be coming back in a few months for some parts for mine). Kenny assisted me with purchasing my PC build, helping me select the right parts, get my display sorted, etc--he was very knowledgable and was genuinely excited to help me out. Should be the benchmark for training in that department--great guy! Overall, great selection, solid prices, and very helpful staff. Photo attached of the goods.

Tienen cable para cutter el color es azul?

Do they fix printers?

They really do not - in fact, this is probably their Achilles Heel - printers I often advise that you find yourself a proper printer repair shop as opposed to Micro Center

I took a chance and ignored some bad reviews that were made about this place. You could say I took…read morea big risk and went "Maverick" by coming here. End result: I got a really good deal on a used HP laptop. It's fast, runs smooth and the best thing about it is: no Windows 8. Woo-hoo!!! We dickered back and forth with the price a little. Some people hate this but I actually like negotiating prices for things. Prices are aren't always set in stone and it's perfectly fine to ask a company for a better deal. Oh course they said one price and then it changed. $90 went to $129 but we settled for $100 even + tax. Not a bad price to pay for a decent working computer. I've been using it for three days and I really like it. No problems at all. I was probably in there for less than 20 minutes and came out with exactly what I wanted at a price that was lower than I had expected to pay.

Don't bother bringing your computer here. It's a scam. They tell you one price over the phone then…read moreanother when u get here. I can only speak for my experience explained below Brought a 15" macbook in, told it's was like $70 to fix, then blah blah blah, it's not that but this, so it was like $90.00 then upped it $150.00 then finally 200.00 exactly 29 days later. They had to diagnosis it, take it apart, blamed it on memory then video then hard drive, gave me the excuse after excuse. When I went to pick it up, my screen was working there @ the business but I had no freaking hard drive. I asked where is it, they said it was bad, offered to put it back in, but not mines, it was a bad hard drive from someone else's computer! Can u believe that? They took my hard drive and more than likely used it for another customers computer and blamed it on the hard drive. Fine, I'll take a working computer, ebayed an toshiba had for $50.00, no biggie. Once installed the lines on the screen came back, first time I booted it on. I was a computer technician a couple years back but familiar with windows laptop, sure apple is similar but has lilttle difference. Deceitful business practice, they cheated me, if you bring in your computer don't let them do the same to you. I'm out a macbook and $216.00 to laptop asset and 55.00 for an hard drive. Take it from my experience, go elsewhere for computer service, as to buying anything used from there, it might work properly cause they prolly yanked it from working machines.
