He will overcharge you and, in my experience, try to pass off low-quality parts as legitimate replacements. I brought my laptop in to have the screen replaced. He told me he needed to keep it for several days while he waited for a "specially made" replacement part from the manufacturer, and charged me hundreds of dollars for the repair. When I got the laptop back, the screen technically worked, but the graphics quality was noticeably worse. Everything looked gray and washed out, whereas the original screen was sharp, vibrant, and had much better color. I checked the computer's work log and found that the replacement screen had actually been installed less than an hour after I originally dropped the laptop off. That made his story about needing several days to wait for a special manufacturer part extremely concerning. It appeared that a generic screen he already had in the office was used instead. I paid hundreds of dollars based on what I was told about the repair and the part being ordered. Finding out afterward that the work log told a very different story was incredibly frustrating. Be very careful and ask questions about exactly what parts are being installed and when. I would not recommend this experience. read more

AJ is a savior of my day. I was having a stressful day, and i barely had time to get my laptop fixed. My laptop needed a change of battery. The old battery was swelling. And i ordered a new one online. I took 45 minutes to drive to a repair shop, yet the shop was a huge pain: $105 for fee to help me replace the old battery( they agreed on the call for that they would charge only $75), and they asked me to let my laptop for the night because they were going to close and could not replace battery within 45 minutes. I was very annoyed by that shop. And here came AJ repair. The service was fast. And the price was only $45. It happened in only 20 minutes. I love the good service read more

I dropped my very expensive HP Envy laptop which damaged the screen. I took it to AJ Computer Repair and he was able to fix it in a week or so (he had to order parts) for a decent price. I had no issues what-so-ever, the shop kept in touch with me every whenever something came up (i.e. parts are in and etc.) which I appreciated. I do have a complaint though, it has nothing to do with the shop or the people, it has to do with the store sign. Without knowing where the store was, it was very hard to find it because depending on which way you are driving, the sun is blinding and the sign somewhat blends into the store front. read more

my ASUS Laptop wasn't turning on So i got it repaired here. I was told the circuit was loose, but once I got it home and the charge drained completely, the laptop didn't turn on again. they charged me 74$ for the repair. SAVED US! My husband got us well and thoroughly hacked. Charles worked very hard to save the hard drive, but ultimately, had to replace it. Saved many files and cleaned out everything that was tainted. I dropped it off at 10am on a Friday and he called at 10:30am that Saturday to say that it and another computer were ready for pick up. He was courteous and didn't over geek-speak the repairs. Final cost was slightly higher than the estimate because we did have to replace the hard drive. I now have two clean, fast computers that will last at least another 10 years. read more

Brought my laptop on the 30th for a $39 repair service but ended up paying $50 because I didn't want my laptop wiped out to remove the virus. Had to wait til the 31st to pick it up. Three days later the laptop was working just as poorly as before and I couldn't use it AT ALL while I was out of town. I came back and called them up to let them know about the issues and was told that after 7 days I have to pay full price for the same service as before. I was NEVER told anything about this policy when I picked up my laptop. I am EXTREMELY disappointed in AJ Computer Repair's Service. The customer service and communication leave A LOT to be desired. The $50 is truly not worth what you get. I wish I could give them less than one star!! read more

Initially, I carried my Asus Zenbook to a major retailer for repair of what I thought was going to be the DC jack. The technician checked it out and said that as per policy, they would need to replace both the jack and the motherboard for my laptop. They would also first need to diagnose it and that alone cost $40. Instead, he did me a favor and referred me to AJ Computer Repair. I brought it here and after 5 mins of testing, they determined that it was NOT the jack but just the charger. They plugged in a universal charger and the laptop began to charge! Told me to just buy a new one. Their general quote to replace a faulty jack was $69 + cost of the jack ($20). They didn't charge me a dime for diagnosing even though I offered to pay them. Took in a laptop to get a screen switched. It was a simple job. Guy put in the wrong screen and then had the cheek to put the onus on me to buy the right screen (online). I got charged for everything full price and no "refund" word was ever utilized. When I noticed what was wrong (after I had already been charged), the guy said "oh...it looks close enough". Pfft. What a disreputable establishment. When I pay money for something specific, I expect that something specific to get done. My desktop PC was making a noise when booting it up. I guessed that it was the fan on the graphics card, but was hesitant to repair it myself. I took it to Andy at AJ Computer repair. He immediately hooked it up, booted it up and confirmed that it was the fan on the graphics card making the noise. He took it out, blew it out, lubricated it, put it back in and turned it on. No more noise. When I asked him how much, he told me nothing. I really appreciated his attitude to fix it quickly and then expect no compensation for it. I will definitely be back. I do recommend him based on this experience, I felt that he knows what he is doing. Not sure what is up with the other reviews, but I had a great experience. My HP desktop just kept showing the blue screen of death, in addition I could not run restore. I'm quite knowledgeable about computer and after a day looking at the problem I suspected some damaged important files or boot sector would be the culprit. Before swapping out the hard drive, I took it to AJ based on the Google review (not the Yelp review). I was glad I did because Andy of AJ pointed out it was most likely due to a problem with my graphics card which was too hot. He spent 2 hours showing me all the other symptoms and discussed about options. I didn't want to get too technical but I did learn a lot about hardware. I was extremely satisfied with this because I don't want my laptop being hold for more than one day and this guy is professional and he is clearly know what he doing. I dropped my HP touch laptop off because my screen was cracked, and it kept jumping to anything. He explained the price of everything, and then asked if I need to use the touchscreen. I said it wasn't necessary. So he disabled the touchscreen, and fixed a search engine problem for a small fee. Some ppl didn't give that option, just a big price. He gave me a price when I was ready to get my touchscreen fixed and it's a good one, as long as I can use my laptop, I'm fine. He called me back omw home, saying it's finished.
