I have a Dell E7470 Laptop, which came with only one Screw, to hold the Battery in place. This is Perfectly Fine for a Three-cell Battery, but the Four-cell one is quite a bit heavier, so I felt that an extra Screw was needed. Not knowing that An Appointment was Required, and being at a Local Bank branch at the time, I decided to visit this Business, and see if they had the right sort of Screw. Since I am Totally Blind, I did not see the "Appointment Only" Sign. This Business is located on the First Floor of an Office Type of Building. There's not anyone in the form of a Guiding Assistant, to let the Casual Visitor know where to go. Keep a sharp eye out, and read all signs. I managed to catch the attention of someone who worked in the Building, and knew where the Business was. He took me there, knocked on the door, and was gone, by the time it opened. What I encountered next, was Most Unusual. The Owner of this Business, is a very Rapid Talker, full of the Enthusiasm for life. Right away he wants to know if I am Clay, and when I tell him that my name is Daniel, he lets me know that he is waiting for Clay, who has his next Appointment slot. I ask him since Clay doesn't seem to be anywhere around, if he can Squeeze me in, and am told that he's Booked Solid for today, and can't just "Squeeze" people in, whenever he wants. However, what is it that I need? When I tell him that I need a Screw for my Laptop, he looks at the one I am holding, and says that he believes he knows what size of Screw I require. He presents me with two of them in a small reclosable bag, and when I try and pay him, he tells me not to worry about it for now, but to write him a Review. read more

Wiped an old way-too-slow HP laptop from my son's business and updated the software - $100. Wiped an 2014 Dell Optiplex then replaced the 2006 hard drive when it failed, Windows 11 now - $160. My HP 3 year old lap top battery was starting to quit holding a full charge and getting worse every couple of weeks. The HP web site showed that removing the old battery was simple--which was a lie when I tried. I ordered an HP replacement battery and after concluding I lacked the special tools to even open the case, I called around west Houston and this location offered the lowest price and said since I had the manufacture replacement battery he could get it done in less than 30 minutes--which he did. Houston Computer Repair is run by a guy who really knows PCs and I can talk to easily since he grew up in Houston and I would describe him as a Computer nerd--which is a good thing. We visited while he gave my laptop a complete physical cleaning after replacing the battery--again, I never would have succeeded by myself installing the battery after watching him--the laptop design is almost impossible for none hardware nerds to conquer. He worked at Compaq, as did I, over 20 years ago. His office is cluttered and is certainly not the Best Buy Geek Squad location, BUT for the cost, experience and speed, you can't beat Houston Computer Repair Experts. read more

Very impressed with this service. They did a repair on my laptop hinge for 1/6 the price of what Micro Center was going to charge me! Darin was extremely helpful and personable, and he really knows what he's doing. He was also very accommodating to my schedule and stayed a little later than his usual business hours so I could pick up my laptop once I got off work, which was very kind. The hinge on my laptop is fixed (and he even took care of the one on the other side just in case!). I will definitely be going back to these guys if I end up with tech trouble in the future. read more

I would only give this place 1 star for Tony. He was helpful. Whoever that other guy is that works at the store needs to be fired, very unprofessional. I dropped my laptop off at 11am and was told by the guy that he had two people ahead of me but that he would "bounce between all three" and he could tell me my problem in about an hour or 2. 5pm comes and I still haven't gotten an answer, I called the store multiple times and it went straight to a disconnected message. I decided to go to the store which was locked so I knocked on the door. Mind you this same guy said that he works in the back and told me earlier, when it was also locked, that I would have to "bang on the door" so he could hear. He comes out of the back and tells me to read the sign which says appointment only. Well it's too late for that at this point, I'm already here, you haven't answered any of my calls, and you have my property! I asked him if he was able to find the problem (as it's been 6 hrs) he then speaks to me in a condescending tone while pointing to 3 laptops and tells me he's not going to do me any favors and push me to the front of the line. I told him that's not what I asked at all and reminded him what he told me on his own earlier about bouncing between them and that I'd have an answer in 2 hrs. And all he can do is stare at me as he holds the door open waiting for me to leave. Tony ended up following up with me but the damage was done. Don't lie to customers to get their business. Spend your money where you're respected. read more
