As usual, I had a great experience at Impress computers. Was thinking of replacing my old desktop (purchased at Impress years ago)and stopped by to see what they had. Talked to Bruce who was extremely helpful and not pushy at all. Fast forward, a couple of weeks later, I went in to ask about a printer. Again Bruce was very helpful and I purchased a Canon printer from Impress. Took it home and could not get the printer drivers to interface with old desktop. Went to what I believed to be Canon's website (yes, I typed in their site info) for help and somehow got a pop up of a help screen. I stated my problem and they asked for my phone number to better assist me. I hate to admit that I was scammed. I let them take control of my computer to see if they could correct the issue. When it failed for them, they offered to refund me. They wanted for me to go to my bank account to see if the refund had been posted. It was then, a light bulb came on in my head and I thought, I have been scammed. Fortunately, I had logged them out twice. I immediately went to bank and told my story, changed account password just in case. I don't keep account password info in my computer. I went straight to Impress computer with my old desktop and Bruce helped me again. I Bought another refurbished desktop and is having them move data from old to new after they have gone in and removed any viruses that may have been added by the scammers. One quick note. I know we do not like it when they tell us it will take a week or two to get our computers back to us, but we need to give them some slack. They are doing their best to do it right. I purchased an AMD Ryzen 5 5600X processor from Impress Computers. They mistakenly sent me a Ryzen 5 3600 processor instead. I contacted Roland by phone and he very quickly sent me a shipping label to send the 3600 back to him, with the agreement that they would send the 5600X upon receipt. After shipping the processor back, I found the processor for a slightly better price, and being on a tight budget, emailed Impress to request a full refund as opposed to the originally agreed upon replacement. They did so as soon as they received the processor. While my transaction with Impress Computers may not have resulted in an actual sale for them, I was very "impressed" with their customer service and attempt to rectify their error. Everyone of us has had to go back over and over for them to correct the problems we asked them to fix. They then create NEW PROBLEMS. The process takes days or even weeks and it is STILL wrong. ROY sold a refurbished computer to my 99-year-old mother promising it would be "exactly like the your current computer" despite her telling them she can hardly see and it would be difficult to learn a new computer. My mother is nearly blind so she said everything had to be in largest font possible. UN-IMPRESS tech HAZEM returned the new computer with the smallest font. My mother told them she only uses the computer for email. UN-IMPRESS Computer tech HAZEM did not include email in the new computer. We took computer back and said my mother uses Outlook email. UN-IMPRESS HAZEM said she could not have used Outlook and gave her another email program, losing all her contacts. In fact, her original program DID USE OUTLOOK. HAZEM JUST CHOSE TO IGNORE THIS. The kicker: IN-IMPRESS COMPUTER LOST 200 years of ancestry photos that existed only on my 99-year-old mother's computer. They lost her USB drive to the old computer. We have to find and pay another company to see if they fix the issues repeatedly caused by UN IMPRESS COMPUTER: WE CAN'T DO ANYTHING RIGHT." Except no one can replace the photos HAZEM lost. HAZEM is so sure he knows everything he does not listen to clients. He alone will decide what is needed. My mother is crying. I was In a dilemma and these people told me they were down to one technician. They said it would be 5-6 days before I got my computer fixed but even then the prices were outrageous. He quoted me 250 for diagnostics and another 350 for the labor. I get that you are trying to keep your lights on but another business down the street charged 65 for a diagnostics and 180 to fix the computer. You all are overpriced and not that knowledgeable. My partner has a custom PC and the CPU had started going out on it. The place we originally bought it from was in CA and wanted us to ship it back. Instead we brought it to Impress and they were able to fix everything for us in a day. It wasn't a complex issue, but I appreciate them for staying a little after closing so we could pick up the computer and have it for the weekend (we came on a Sat). I have been a loyal customer of Impress Computers for years, going back to when they were located on Park Row. Until today I was always more than thankful for the advice, service and professional interaction I had with all of their staff. Today my wife and I took her computer in for service. We were met by an obnoxious and arrogant young man by the name of Andrew. Without asking the problem, he stated the laptop was old and stated it would be better to purchase a new one. He was rude, would not listen to our concerns and insisted we buy a new laptop. I have never had such a negative response from an Impress employee, to say the least I was put off by his arrogance and lack of customer skills. Fortunately, another employee, Bruce, did take time to listen to us and provided us with advice, actually solving the issue. I can only hope Roland can correct the deficiencies this employee has with dealing with customers, better yet I hope Roland never allows him to deal with the public ever again, Andrew should stay in the back working on computers and never dealing with customers. When we need new laptops, Impress will be our first stop, however if this belligerent young man is in the front dealing with customers, I will have second thoughts about purchasing from Impress. They gave me an approximate finish date and then beat that estimate by a couple of days. Very much quality work and Professional Service. The cost was less than I expected by at least $50. My laptop wouldn't charge while I was out of town, so I took it to the store chain where I had bought it. When the different plugs didn't help, I was given a quote for $450 and 3 weeks to ship it away and replace the mother board, as the electronics store told me was necessary. I declined. When I returned home, I brought it to Impress Computers. They told me they would order a replacement for the DC outlet and repair it for $150. It would take a few days. Done! This is a follow-up, in answer to Roland Parker's June 4 response to my initial review of May 3. Mr. Parker apologized for the delay in processing the promised refund, but then attempted to trivialize the importance of it by indicating that the delay was only 1 week. If that was true, I would agree with him (and I would characterize myself as unjustifiably restless). But the delay in handling the refund wasn't 1 week, it was over FIVE WEEKS and, no, that isn't acceptable or justifiable. Mr. Parker promised the refund on Feb 21; the order shipped on Feb 22; I mentioned the refund in a message to him on Feb 24 (which was principally about the signature issue); I wrote him again about the refund on Mar 18 (almost a month later); and sent him a final email about the refund on Mar 23 (this one sent to the email address tied to the Impress PayPal account, so I could be certain it would be an actively monitored mailbox). I received no response to any of these, so I filed a complaint with PayPal on Mar 30 at 11:32a. At 11:47a that same day (15 minutes after I filed the complaint), I received notification from PayPal that "Case closed in your favor -- We reviewed the case you filed on March 30, 2021 and have decided in your favor. We've issued a refund of $3.28 USD to you." Mr. Parker stated that Impress handled the refund, not PayPal. That isn't what PayPal wrote. Mr. Parker also stated that the delay was only 1 week when, in fact, it was 5 weeks and 2 days. As a matter of principle, that is a huge difference. This refund is trivial in amount. But I was not treated respectfully as a customer, and in my opinion Mr. Parker had no intention of ever processing the promised refund. Zero stars for Impress in how they handled the refund, and for their misstatement of the facts in defending their (non)response. read more

We love Impress computers and have done business with them for over 10 years...probably closer to 12! The new location is so much nicer and more convenient! Looks like they are going to have a lot more goodies that I didn't know I couldn't do without in the new store! I really like that the staff at Impress is willing to listen to you and sell you what you NEED or might need to grow into but never OVERSELL you....how many times have you tried to buy tech stuff and you think, all I really need this for is to write a paper and some internet and email and the sales person tries to sell you the $3000 ultra gaming turbo charged monster computer because "yeah, you'll be glad you have it later". It's huge to know you're going to get what you need because they listen and they have built their business on REPEAT and REFERRAL customers who come back time and time again! I have found myself counting on the guys from Impress Computers for everything from ink and toner for my printers to virus removal, technical issues and buying computers! We've purchased numerous desktops and a few laptops from Impress and their service and warranty they stand behind what they sell is second to none! I went to Impress Computers to fix my laptop, which was actually a suggestion from a Best Buy employee due to their high fees for the repairs I needed. Overall the price was reasonable in the end after the repairs. Where my experience was extremely lacking was when it came to their customer service. After I dropped off my laptop and charger, I was told I would be contacted within a day or two for an update on the parts that needed to be ordered for the repair. They called me promptly after a day, and left me a voicemail. I called them back and they notified me about the cost and that it would take about 2 days for the parts to come in and for them to repair my laptop, and that they would give me a call as soon as it was finished. One week went by and I told myself, maybe they got busy, or perhaps the repair is simply taking a bit longer than expected. Another week went by and still no call or voicemail, which at this point I was aggravated simply because I felt like I was patient in waiting and they have not even given me an update or anything. I called them to see what was going on with my laptop, to which their receptionist tells that it has been done for quite a while. I asked her why they had not called me or left a voicemail like they had before, to which she told me they were not sure they had the right phone number. Obviously that made no sense due to the fact that they were able to contact me just fine before? Makes no sense. I go in the next day to get my laptop, already in a foul mood due to the lack of communication, and unprofessional. I get my laptop without my charger back which I had left my with them at the beginning. I had paid and was waiting for their associate to hand me my charger at some point, and he simply dismisses me tells me that I am fully paid and good to go. I tell him that I am still waiting for my charger, and he begins to look for it and asks me if I'm sure I did leave it since he cannot find it. I wait 15 minutes for he and another associate look for it and finally they bring it out from the back. I was far from amused to have to wait for something they should have kept with my laptop from the beginning; this simply showcased their lack of organization and how much careful they are with their clients products. Horrible experience to say the least. Will never recommend them to anyone for any sort of computer or laptop repair. Next time I know I will be better off paying extra at Best Buy. read more

Placed a pre-order for multiple different graphics cards, Impress computers charged my card (I'm now out the cash) back in December and January 2021. I was notified of a $50 price instead due to tariffs towards the end of January and that the cards would ship end of month. Okay not the end of world, but little shady that they took my money and then asked for more after the fact. It has now been 5 months later and Impress kept saying oh "end of this month". THEN Impress had the balls to ask for even more money for the cards (originally $900 (XC3 3080), now they're asking $1400 for FTW3 3080). They continue to claim "tariffs" are the reason for them asking for higher prices, but NO other stores are asking anywhere close to those prices. This is basically the equivalent of a bait and switch scam. I will never be sending any money to impress ever again. I would highly recommend avoiding any purchases from Impress Computers due to these shady sales practices. Expect them to take your money and then ask for more later on. I'm fairly certain these practices border on illegal. I have had multiple other friends who made purchases with them and received all the same emails, this is not an isolated incident. read more

Dropped it off on a Wednesday and picked it up Friday morning. They called me and let me know what happened (hardrive to be replaced but unfortunately data couldn't be transferred due to the damage) and also when it was ready for pick up along w the pricing which was not bad at all! I love their front desk services and technician team too. A technician named Hazem helped me a lot to analyze my laptop's situation and explained how he would fix it and made my laptop returning to its golden age cuz my laptop was having difficult techibical issues and overheating problems which drove me into headache and I brought my laptop to other computer shops to troubleshoot it but all those guys gave up and told me my computer was imposible to fix and they asked me to continue to use this unstable laptop until I found impress computer through google reviews and recommendations- I was greet by two awesome employees there named Mr.Roy and Marlon- they aided me to fill in the check-in forms carefully and ensured me that they would do their best efforts to have my laptop like brand new. After one day, mr. hazem gave me the call and we had the good conversations about how he gonna replace the damaged components and reinstall the more powerful disk drive and window product for me. Yet another 5 star review. Here's the story. I had a 7 year old I Mac. It had run its course but I didn't pay attention to the fact that the hard drive was failing. I waited too long and took the very heavy machine over to Simply Mac over in La Centerra. They told me it would cost about $1000 to send my drive to some 3rd party repair facility to extract all of the data. I shelved the mission and put the hard drive up in a desk. 2 years later we are moving and so the question came up and my devastated wife who queried how could you leave 8000 photos on there and not be smart enough to rip them off before the hard drive died? I thought of Impress Computers and how they had help me before so I gave them a call and I spoke to Marlon. He said bring the drive over and let me work with it and 2 days later he was pleased to tell me that they only charged me $200 to extract all the data and I put it on a $79 solid state external hard drive. What time I gave my wife the result and she was over the moon happy. I learned my lesson about letting a hard drive die but I learned an even better lesson... and that is to never call anybody else but to give these guys a call 1st. You will never be sorry read more

These guys are simply fantastic and my review is WAY overdue. I had to visit these guys because I installed a new power supply that started to smoke while I was staring into the case. I didn't know where it was coming from so I took the injured computer to Roland and Roy one chilly morning a few weeks ago. After 2 days with Hazem, one of their very experienced and super kind techs, he had it fixed, owing the small electrical short to a bad power supply that roasted the DVD ROM and frying the motherboard. I wanted to upgrade my computer but wasn't sure at the time and had started the process of buying some items to pursue VR flight simulation. I took the unit home after they put in a new motherboard and a new DVD ROM for a very economical fee. I got a new Oculus Rift VR set and tried to get it to work...but it failed. My system was just too underpowered. I returned to Roland and asked about upgrading the motherboard and CPU. He suggested a Ryzen processor and a compatible motherboard. Hazem and Roland both remarked that the Ryzen AMD chips were temperamental and that the new memory I would need to purchase was also a delicate fit for the Ryzen chip. They were right and the installation they let me perform on one of their benches to save a little cash was just another nice little touch and evidence of their good will. Well the CPU and the motherboard both ended up bad from the manufacturer (rotten luck). Roland took them both back and refunded me and I sourced another CPU outside of Impress. We pulled a motherboard out of their stock and a few days later we were up and running. I found out that my video card was a major problem and upgraded that on my own...the process of all my issues stemmed from me not taking the time to decide the best path for my particular mission. If I had just initially trusted in their guidance I would not have had so many problems I believe. All in all the patience these guys showed me while I was a bit frustrated is owed to their professionalism. They just take the time to do things right. If you get a build from them I guarantee it will be put together and bench tested properly. If you look around the city there are few places to source components and even fewer to get them installed in a timely and communicative fashion. Roland's team is not your run of the mill young guys, no one is stumbling around the store staring vacuously into their smart phones...they all have years of experience and it's one of the reasons I will not go anywhere else to get computer work or upgrades done. I value sincere interest in my problems when I want to bring my business to a company.
