I'd compared the repair estimate for fixing my laptop charger port with them vs 2 other competitors; one local and one corporation, but Comp Clinic's quote fared better and their service was the friendliest. However, what they gained in customer service they lacked in timeliness. The repair was estimated to take a week with the need to order one part. It must've gotten lost in the shuffle because it took a couple weeks and when we went to check on it, the part was not ordered and we still had to wait. Once the part was ordered the repair seemed to only take a couple days. Unfortunately, what should've taken a week took a month. The charger port was repaired. When a related issue seemed to arise, we brought it right back and it was immediately taken care of. I'd go back again but I'd do so knowing that this isn't a highly regulated operation. If turn-around time is most important, turn-around and go to a competitor. But if the greatest concern is kind customer service and low rates, you'll get what you wanted to pay for, here.

What that tells you is - besides our being pretty old - that CCX is really good at upgrading or repairing computers. And that's an understatement. Walter, the owner and head digital guru, not only is polite, friendly and honest, but can communicate often times complicated information in a simple and straightforward way. He isn't there to dazzle you with his knowledge (although that might happen along the way). He knows your main concerns are 1) What's wrong? and 2) How much will it cost? Not one time has he been unable to solve the problem, or given us a price that wasn't reasonable. That his shop is conveniently located near I-10 is another bonus. So before you take your computer to a big-box store or someplace you see on the street, either of which is likely to turn into a stress-fest, let CCX have a look. Chances are that the quality of work will be higher, and cost less.
