After a week I called for an update and was told they were still waiting for the liquid metal shipment to arrive at the store. Another week and another call later they said the same thing with no hard date about when it would be there, saying it'd be another week or two. Possibly a month long wait for a repair when I was quoted 5 days, if the shipment truly takes that long I should be informed of this the day I came to drop it off, or it should've been reflected in the initial quote. I asked if the console had at least been cleaned and was told yes. I then decided to just pick the console up and get the liquid metal replacement done elsewhere. When I came to the store, it appeared as though the outside shell of the console had been wiped down with a rag or something, while the inside of the console was very clearly still dirty. The employee than graciously decided to not charge me for the "cleaning". 2 weeks later, and I was in the exact same spot as I was when I walked into the store for the first time and was told the wait was 2-5 days, rough. The other place I went to get it also charged less for both services and got both done the same day, if you're looking for console repair id look elsewhere than here.

That tells you everything about the professionalism here. No transparency, no communication, and no value for the customer's time. He told me he needed to keep it for several days while he waited for a "specially made" replacement part from the manufacturer, and charged me hundreds of dollars for the repair. When I got the laptop back, the screen technically worked, but the graphics quality was noticeably worse. Everything looked gray and washed out, whereas the original screen was sharp, vibrant, and had much better color. I checked the computer's work log and found that the replacement screen had actually been installed less than an hour after I originally dropped the laptop off. That made his story about needing several days to wait for a special manufacturer part extremely concerning. It appeared that a generic screen he already had in the office was used instead. I paid hundreds of dollars based on what I was told about the repair and the part being ordered. Finding out afterward that the work log told a very different story was incredibly frustrating. Be very careful and ask questions about exactly what parts are being installed and when. I would not recommend this experience.

While it does allow leniency if you're into bargaining, for someone who prefers honesty, it isn't an appreciated business practice I'd expect anywhere outside of a flea ,or night market. And despite the many cameras pointed at you and electronic locks on the front door of the shop that can be locked and unlocked from the safety of the counter, they won't let you hold most items in your own hands to examine them. The store often looks empty when it isn't due to heavily tinted windows and a locked door during business hours you have to knock on and stand five feet in front of to get into. It feels like I'm making a back alley deal with a shady scammer even though it's not the case. The people inside or more than respectful, just cautious which I can appreciate. But I don't want to haggle a price, listen to you make a fake phone call to check the price of something and offer me a bogus deal like a mall salesman to get me to buy your product, half of what they have can be found online for much cheaper than they'll try to sell it to you for. And when you refuse to buy they'll noticeably lower the price to something within your price range, but just short of all the cash in your wallet. Again, some might find this to be exciting, but I personally do not and like to pay a fair price set for every customer. The only reason I give this place the rating I have is because they've repaired something of mines that was broken. Good for repairs, but if I wanted electronics I'd find the cheaper deal on Amazon, same item but for 7$'s less guaranteed. It's heartbreaking because I really do resonate with the hustle and empathize with the struggles, but do not approve of their practices. Regardless I still do follow their socials, support all their posts and praise their efforts, but I will not be consistently buying often from the business unless changes are made.
