A…read morefriend of my daughter found Sam's Repair on Facebook Marketplace as someone who was selling refurbished MacBook laptops (It wasn't even listed on Yelp. I had to add the business to check-in and write the review). We originally went in to Sam's to purchase a used MacBook. When we went in and explained what we had and what we were doing, he encouraged us to not buy the one he had for sale but suggested we let him look at ours first to see if it was repairable. We had already upgraded the memory to a 1TB solid-state drive and it was much better than what he was selling. We left (Saturday) and returned on Monday with our laptop. He said since we were coming from so far away (League City) that we could wait while he looked at it. We hung out for an hour and he actually was able to fix the motherboard. He explained what he did but honestly it was over my head. I'm just glad it is working. The laptop he was selling was $550. He fixed ours for less than half that cost and warranted the work for 3 months. Granted, I'm writing this review a few short hours after the repair. Assuming the repair holds, he deserves the five stars. If for some reason that changes, I'll update my review. As for now, we are very pleased.

Service was completed the same day. I have a glass PC case so you can see everything inside. Cable management by Ed (which required all power cables to be redone) was exceptional. From my experience, I recommend to never stop by here and this is why…read more I have an Acer ROG Gaming laptop, I had taken it into geek squad to get a repair on my battery. In the process of them fixing said battery, they broke my screen and said they wouldn't get back into it. So I thought bringing it here seeing the good reviews it had would be my best bet, sadly enough it ended up being nightmarish. I first told them what my issue was and the things Geek Squad had done to fix it. However, they did not seem to care for the information at all, they had just disregarded it and had forgotten all about it. The part they needed to fix my screen wasn't in shop, so they had to order it. Which I can understand, yet; they said it'd be there in 2 weeks. I called regularly and it hadn't come in for a whole month. In the end, they didn't even call to let me know when it was ready. And they didn't even fix it! They just waited for my call to tell me for the past month they wasted my time. (Not literally lol) I opened it up to see for myself what repairs they tried to do, all my screws were missing, and the cable they bought to try and fix my screen was too short to even reach the connector inside the computer. My computer was working prior to me bringing it there, it was just my screen, and they managed to make it into a paperweight, it wouldn't work completely. I brought it back in, and they used all the wrong screws, so my laptop has a lot of screw dents on the chassis. They managed to get it back in working order BUT as of the time of this review, my WiFi adapter chip is entirely MISSING. In summary: I brought a working, nice condition laptop into this place. They waste my time for over a month and not call me to say when I could pick up the thing; and on top of that, they entirely trashed both the inside and outside. And upon bringing it back a second time, they managed to break even more! AVOID AT ALL COSTS. For the price of free, my $2000 gaming laptop is reduced down to its basic components. Tread carefully yelpers! :(
