12/22/16 Update: I got a call from a Reliant Security Operations Manager and ultimately he was able…read moreto confirm that I was misinformed by a member of the Reliant Security team. He resolved this matter for me and was very professional. My original 1 star review was solely based on my original complications of cancelling service because of moving. I have adjusted my review because the actual security service was very good and did everything as promised. I loved the app and the remote capabilities. The cameras were super clear and when the alarm was tripped (My siberian husky's high pitched howl triggered the glass break sensor) their team was highly responsive. I highly recommend the services and if you would potentially be moving at some point within their traditional agreement term, I'd ask if they have others available. ___________ Original Review: Avoid at all costs. I work a job where we get moved around a lot and I expressed my concern with the 3 year contract and the sales representative and install both said there will be no fee if I move to a place where they do not provide service. I have called them and they are trying to charge me 3 years of the service for the termination. They have told me they will review the information and check and get back to me. It's very unfair and bad business that they try to levy a fee on you for moving because they don't operate nationally. If they try to charge me the termination fee I will be filling a claim with the BBB.

I listened to his spiel and he not only promised that I would have additional equipment, but he would give me a $10/mth discount and he could also switch my electricity from Cirro to Reliant and the savings would offset the cost of the security system. He gave me his contact info, etc. After I'd signed up and they switched my existing system, installed 2 security cameras and replaced my Honeywell wireless thermostat with theirs, he won't respond to texts or return my calls. The thermostat is terrible, the wireless cameras are excellent quality but don't record, what's the point of those unless I happen to be looking at it when a burglar breaks in? He not only didn't switch the electricity but I didn't get the $10. discount. WHAT LIES AND A RIPOFF!!! Jeanie Erwin

The mount/TV combination was unusual and not something Wesley had encountered before. I hired them for a residential project, and Dan Penny and his team were true professionals from start to finish. While my project was residential, I know they also handle commercial work, and based on my experience, I would confidently recommend them for both residential and commercial projects. From the initial walkthrough to final installation, their level of knowledge and expertise was immediately apparent. They took the time to understand exactly what I wanted with my network and security camera setup and then made thoughtful recommendations to improve performance while also keeping costs in check. What really stood out was their efficiency and attention to detail. They found smart, clean ways to run cabling that minimized disruption while maximizing long-term reliability. Everything was done neatly and with a level of precision you typically only see in high-end custom work. Communication throughout the entire process was excellent--clear, timely, and proactive. They showed up when they said they would, stayed on schedule, and delivered exactly what they promised. It is rare to find a company that combines technical expertise, honesty, and craftsmanship at this level. Dan and his team exceeded expectations in every way. I would absolutely use them again and highly recommend them to anyone looking for a professional, clean, and reliable installation.

I have used Nextdoor Electric once for actual work and also obtained three quotes from them. My…read moreusual electrical company, Blue Electrical Contractors, was super busy so I decided to try Nextdoor based on their Yelp reviews. I had them take down an old outdoor ceiling fan from my back porch and install two new ceiling lights: one in the same spot as the ceiling fan and the other over the seating area to provide more light (see photo). The job cost $572 which I thought was a little bit high, but I wanted the work done. Two big issues with the job: First of all, the technician didn't install the round ceiling light insulation discs in each fixture (see photo) which is to my understanding required to meet Underwriters Laboratory requirements. (The insulation is used to reflect heat from incandescent bulbs.) He also cracked one of the plastic conduit hangers so that it was actually broke. I found the insulation thrown in the garbage and had to dig them back out and have the technician come back to put them in and replace the broken hanger. Also, wasn't really keen on the fact that he used plastic hangers vs. metal to hang the conduit. Another issue was that I wanted a multi-outlet switch in my garage changed out to a standard outlet; see photo. Nextdoor quoted me $187 to change it out. Caido, from Blue Electrical Contractors stopped by and I had him look at it. It was only a cover; Caido unscrewed one screw and the regular outlet was underneath. I could have done it had I known this. It took Caid 5 seconds to take the multi-outlet cover off and he didn't charge me a thing. Okay. This is ridiculous! $187??!! This shows me the technician from Nextdoor Electric didn't even know what he was quoting. I was speaking to Caido from Blue Electric about Nextdoor and how I will never use them again, but can't understand their great reviews. Caido was telling me that Nextdoor's reviews could be fake and/or purchased. I really am questioning these reviews. I will never have them do any work for me again. Go with Blue Electric the next time you need electrical work; I have used them for years.

These guys are hard to find online due to the generic "search engine term" nature of their name,…read morebut they did a GREAT job when Best Buy failed over and over again. J was conscientious, knowledgeable and very responsive. Just super professional all the way around. We moved into a home that had in-ceiling speakers already, purchased two new TV's, a full system of Sonos amps and a port, a subwoofer, AV receiver, power conditioner, etc. from Best Buy, and so our disaster began. One thing after another didn't work. Essentially, they didn't really understand how to wire a complex, pre-existing setup, and it was a frustrating mess. Best Buy made 5 or 6 visits to the house. On their first, they delivered a damaged $8K TV. The replacement TV they installed later went out for handling damage, as verified by Samsung, and they just washed their hands of us. They just hung us with a non-functioning TV outside of their replacement period, and Samsung noted that it was handling damage. We are STILL fighting with the credit card company on that one. That's where TV Installation Houston stepped in and saved the day. I wish we had known about them from the beginning! We nearly didn't find them--again, due to the generic name--but I'm so glad that we did. From our first interaction, J inspired confidence that our issues would be sorted out. He said that they primarily rely on Google reviews as he's not as familiar with Yelp, but they need to be on here! I couldn't find them here, or we would've used them from the get-go. They're hard to find on Google even, due to their name. We sold us a new TV at competitive prices, handled the install and got our system working again. They made sure all of our questions were answered and that everything was functioning as it should be. There were a few buried settings that we needed him to come out and change later, and he was very responsive and addressed our concerns. We have 100% confidence that if we ever run into an issue in the future that we won't be left hanging like we were with Best Buy. Totally recommend TV Installation Houston and J!
