I have used Nextdoor Electric once for actual work and also obtained three quotes from them. My usual electrical company, Blue Electrical Contractors, was super busy so I decided to try Nextdoor based on their Yelp reviews. I had them take down an old outdoor ceiling fan from my back porch and install two new ceiling lights: one in the same spot as the ceiling fan and the other over the seating area to provide more light (see photo). The job cost $572 which I thought was a little bit high, but I wanted the work done. Two big issues with the job: First of all, the technician didn't install the round ceiling light insulation discs in each fixture (see photo) which is to my understanding required to meet Underwriters Laboratory requirements. (The insulation is used to reflect heat from incandescent bulbs.) He also cracked one of the plastic conduit hangers so that it was actually broke. I found the insulation thrown in the garbage and had to dig them back out and have the technician come back to put them in and replace the broken hanger. Also, wasn't really keen on the fact that he used plastic hangers vs. metal to hang the conduit. Another issue was that I wanted a multi-outlet switch in my garage changed out to a standard outlet; see photo. Nextdoor quoted me $187 to change it out. Caido, from Blue Electrical Contractors stopped by and I had him look at it. It was only a cover; Caido unscrewed one screw and the regular outlet was underneath. I could have done it had I known this. It took Caid 5 seconds to take the multi-outlet cover off and he didn't charge me a thing. Okay. This is ridiculous! $187??!! This shows me the technician from Nextdoor Electric didn't even know what he was quoting. I was speaking to Caido from Blue Electric about Nextdoor and how I will never use them again, but can't understand their great reviews. Caido was telling me that Nextdoor's reviews could be fake and/or purchased. I really am questioning these reviews. I will never have them do any work for me again. Go with Blue Electric the next time you need electrical work; I have used them for years. read more

I'll start out with that the technician, Muk, was fine and professional. However the pricing was ridiculous and I don't really understand the company's diagnosis process. We were unfortunately in a bind and had to get our dryer fixed right away and there was a breaker tripped. The diagnosis was basically might be a breaker or a dryer issue so it's 410 (later negotiated to 380) to fix without any other assessment. Lo and behold - all it was a breaker. Took him 30 minutes to replace two breaker switches. Really feeling gouged and next time if I'm not in a bind will get more bids. read more

Couldn't recommend these guys more! They've been out to our home 5 times or so in the past several months and each visit has been very pleasant. Both Fuad and Salat are super friendly and down to earth guys. There's always a little bit of discomfort when repair technicians come to your home but I'll be honest, I always feel very comfortable when they're here. On top of that, they're fair and honest and strive to make sure they do quality work. Pricing seems reasonable for what it is (electrical work ain't cheap). They don't charge for the diagnosis and come out for free which definitely helps! I also appreciate how courteous they are. They always wear shoe covers and are respectful of our space. The answer is an unqualified YES! Sal, Muk, and his team replaced a worn-out breaker box with corroded connections, as well as the shorted-out line from a transformer to that breaker box. While the lights upstairs in my house had been blinking furiously before the fix, now they are perfectly fine. Working with Nextdoor Electric has been very easy. They came out to give me a free quote, they were on time and it was a very reasonable price. They also suggested using Lutron Smart Light Switches to solve a couple of my annoyances that would have required way too much invasive Sheetrock to be worth doing. No one else I had out for a quote suggested them. They were knowledgeable and confident in their work and said it even came with a 3 year guarantee. They were able to come out to do the work rather quickly and gave a few hour window they would arrive in. They completed all the work I needed (changing some light switches, installing some smart light switches, adding a couple of outlets) in a timely manner, and all the workers were kind that I interacted with. I changed out a light switch and could. not make it work. My wife was out of town and returning that afternoon, so I needed a quick solution. Sal, Fuad and their third team member did a fantastic job. They took their time to ensure the job is done correctly and to the satisfaction of the customer. They are responsive and flexible, which is clearly important when they address such a wise variety of applications: different home types, electrical needs, existing electrical work, etc. In my case, they hooked up my generator to my home's panel, installed a bathroom vent fan, and added a 240v line. This group has personalities that are easily likeable, which is always nice when you have people in your home for extended hours. Parts of our home's electricity, especially the big appliances like the fridges and the air conditioner wouldnt come on so i contacted center point who ofc didnt do anything and left saying we would have the power back but it came on and went off again pretty quickly then came on and went off again saying lies and charging me $109. So i found Nextdoor Electric on Yelp and Sal was at our house within 3 hrs which is pretty quick imo and gave us a free estimate. And let me tell you, the work that they did i know is supposed to way more than what they charged us but Sal gave us an extremely good deal and we said yes right away. They came out the next morning at 6AM!! To start on the work so it can be done asap. Sal was very kind and understanding of our situation and was very diligent. I have nothing but high praises for Sal. I am blown away as to how incredible him & his partner Andres just fixed up our home in no time. We had half our house shorted and lost power for more than a week. First I had someone recommended from family that came out & couldn't figure out the problem. Then I had John Moore come out and all they did was upsell. JM is extremely expensive and after trying to upsell, they told me it may or may not fix the problem. I just HAD to leave a review. Man these guys have been awesome since I first called to inquiry about services. My electrical was all jacked up from a bad electrician. They DID THE BEST WORK and did not charge me an arm and a leg. And the electricians that came out WERE FREAKING AWESOME. They were professional, communicated, educated me on several things and perhaps the most important thing they fixed my problem.
