I have used Nextdoor Electric once for actual work and also obtained three quotes from them. My usual electrical company, Blue Electrical Contractors, was super busy so I decided to try Nextdoor based on their Yelp reviews. I had them take down an old outdoor ceiling fan from my back porch and install two new ceiling lights: one in the same spot as the ceiling fan and the other over the seating area to provide more light (see photo). The job cost $572 which I thought was a little bit high, but I wanted the work done. Two big issues with the job: First of all, the technician didn't install the round ceiling light insulation discs in each fixture (see photo) which is to my understanding required to meet Underwriters Laboratory requirements. (The insulation is used to reflect heat from incandescent bulbs.) He also cracked one of the plastic conduit hangers so that it was actually broke. I found the insulation thrown in the garbage and had to dig them back out and have the technician come back to put them in and replace the broken hanger. Also, wasn't really keen on the fact that he used plastic hangers vs. metal to hang the conduit. Another issue was that I wanted a multi-outlet switch in my garage changed out to a standard outlet; see photo. Nextdoor quoted me $187 to change it out. Caido, from Blue Electrical Contractors stopped by and I had him look at it. It was only a cover; Caido unscrewed one screw and the regular outlet was underneath. I could have done it had I known this. It took Caid 5 seconds to take the multi-outlet cover off and he didn't charge me a thing. Okay. This is ridiculous! $187??!! This shows me the technician from Nextdoor Electric didn't even know what he was quoting. I was speaking to Caido from Blue Electric about Nextdoor and how I will never use them again, but can't understand their great reviews. Caido was telling me that Nextdoor's reviews could be fake and/or purchased. I really am questioning these reviews. I will never have them do any work for me again. Go with Blue Electric the next time you need electrical work; I have used them for years. read more

I'll start out with that the technician, Muk, was fine and professional. However the pricing was ridiculous and I don't really understand the company's diagnosis process. We were unfortunately in a bind and had to get our dryer fixed right away and there was a breaker tripped. The diagnosis was basically might be a breaker or a dryer issue so it's 410 (later negotiated to 380) to fix without any other assessment. Lo and behold - all it was a breaker. Took him 30 minutes to replace two breaker switches. Really feeling gouged and next time if I'm not in a bind will get more bids. read more

Couldn't recommend these guys more! They've been out to our home 5 times or so in the past several months and each visit has been very pleasant. Both Fuad and Salat are super friendly and down to earth guys. There's always a little bit of discomfort when repair technicians come to your home but I'll be honest, I always feel very comfortable when they're here. On top of that, they're fair and honest and strive to make sure they do quality work. Pricing seems reasonable for what it is (electrical work ain't cheap). They don't charge for the diagnosis and come out for free which definitely helps! I also appreciate how courteous they are. They always wear shoe covers and are respectful of our space. Parts of our home's electricity, especially the big appliances like the fridges and the air conditioner wouldnt come on so i contacted center point who ofc didnt do anything and left saying we would have the power back but it came on and went off again pretty quickly then came on and went off again saying lies and charging me $109. I have nothing but high praises for Sal. I am blown away as to how incredible him & his partner Andres just fixed up our home in no time. We had half our house shorted and lost power for more than a week. First I had someone recommended from family that came out & couldn't figure out the problem. Then I had John Moore come out and all they did was upsell. JM is extremely expensive and after trying to upsell, they told me it may or may not fix the problem.
