A buddy of mine told me to avoid West Houston Electric like the plauge, I should have listened. Look at the picture of the estimate. Ridiculous. I asked for an estimate to install a Tesla Charger, Generator Inlet, and whole home surge protector, thats all. I told them I was competitively bidding the work and this is what they gave me. BTW, I was able to get three competitive quotes for this work that were all in the $1,900 - $2,300 range, so it really was just this company being way out of line with the rest of the market. Then he tried to use scare tactics to get me to do things like spend $10k to replace all my outlets and light switches since the house was built in 2005. He also wanted me to sign a document after receiving the estimate that had not-so-fine print that removed all liability for their work if I didn't do all the upgrades they suggested, including the $10k for replace all the outlets in my house. After I reminded the estimator three times that I was competitively bidding this work and that $23k for all these unnecessary items would not be winning him the job, he pushed for the $23k option again and began telling me about their low financing options. I asked him to leave at that point. I cant imagine how many elderly people or widows are taken advantage of by these types of scare and pressure tactics. read more

West Houston Electric - Electricians Near Me - Katy, Texas

I am quite sure that the service quality is consistently high and responsive. Rolan, who made the visit, was professional and polite. With that being said, I asked for 2 fixtures, I had purchased prior, to be installed. I was quoted for another 2 fixtures, and $135-150 for 4 bulbs, without any context of CRI and light temp (Kelvin). I am happy to pay well for great service. I am not happy to pay 2-3x mark up on product that requires no labor., i.e. 4 light bulbs. read more

What the heck!!! I am in the process of purchasing a home. My home inspection revealed that the wiring in the electric panel needed a few repairs. I called West Houston Electric to get a repair quote. The girl who answered said that because I had already had an inspection, my request was "outside of their scope of operations/services." I NEED AN ELECTRICIAN TO REPAIR MY ELECTRICAL WIRING. ISN'T THIS WHAT AN ELECTRICIAN IS SUPPOSED TO DO? I AM SO CONFUSED BY WHAT THIS WOMAN SAID TO ME! read more

I don't know how to review this company without saying they are scamming people. I had 3 other ppl come out and quote me under $400 and under for the work they quoted $2100. They told me $69 to come out and then when they got here they asked for $400 to see what was wrong. He ended up taking $100 Off but for $369 all he did was show me what he thought the problem was and then looked at my whole house and came up with a bunch of things to try to sell me. His shirt said Tesla installer. I think this "family" business has gotten out of control. They add to each quote a "vip membership" to pay $40 a month. I can only imagine how many elderly ppl they are scamming daily. Sad. read more

They came in when I needed heat in a bind for some disconnect boxes. Super kind and suggested lots of other things to fix that seemed simple. However, when I called for a follow up on those other items the pricing was way over what the initial tech explained to me. read more

PLEASE don't even call them for estimates. They came out and give me an estimate, last week, which was over price and not itemized. Now they are calling, texting and emailing me EVERDAY and harrassing me for the work. Even though I have asked them three times TO STOP, but I am getting emails, voice mails and text messages every day. Please don't even call them for estimates. NOW I AM WORRIED THAT THEY WILL SALE MY CONTACT INFO. read more

They were very professional and did a great job. The price was very reasonable, and I would hire them again.

I was getting estimates for the replacement of my breaker boxes- it's a pretty big job and would involve some genuine skill and some creativity on an older commercial building. This is problematic for West Houston Electric because this company doesn't really want to do the work, they just show up to collect their fee and talk a bunch of nonsense and aggressively sales pitch you forever until they wear you out and you agree to the charge just so they'll go away and then you close the door and wind up feeling real stupid for giving them a check at all. My estimate came back 3 days later for SEVENTY FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS and a text asking when I'd like to start. Enormous waste of my time, but clearly not for West Houston Electric's- I watched the tech walk down my street and put their flyers on everybody's front door before he drove away. read more

The work was successfully completed on all three poles on 7/13 by one of the competitors and not West Houston Electrical. Maybe they very busy and didn't need or want the work but please just tell us this up front. What you proposed was way out of line and appears dishonest. read more

Great Job - professional, on time, courteous and fast.gave them other projects and always respond timely.

If you don't want your time wasted you really don't want to use this company. I called on a Tuesday and made an appointment for a technician to come to our home Friday between 12:00 and 4:00. Friday came and I took off work to be here for the technician. At 2:00 I called to make sure the technician would still be coming. I was assured someone would be at my home at least by 4:00. At 3:30 I receive a phone call them these people telling me there would not be anyone coming to my house with all kinds of apology, but no reason. I then was offered a 50 dollar credit for the inconvenience and assured someone would be at our home Monday between 4:00 and 7:00. Monday came and went and no technician!!!!!! Complete waste of my time with the most unprofessional company we've EVER dealt with! read more

Very Professional, showed up on time, accommodated my requests, communicated well and did good clean work.

I hate to leave a bad review, but I would strongly recommend not even calling this company for an estimate. They charge like 70 bucks just to give an estimate. They arrived on time and the kid showed up and was very nice. But the estimate was extremely high. Then I had to listen to this whole sales spiel about their monthly maintenance plan etc. I guess where my frustration lies is that the bid was extremely high. I called and got two other quotes that were less than 25 percent of this kids bid (that's right, the quote was 4 times higher than the competition plus paying their trip fee. My advice is skip this place and find another electrician- your wallet will thank you. read more

Joseph was the employee I worked with in preparation for finally installing my whole house generator. He was amazing! I could not have asked for an employee who was more professional, thorough and also friendly. He explained the process we were involved in at that time! I booked an appointmant for my generator to be serviced which they said they did, only to receive a message, ten days later right before my appointmen, that they did not service generator. total waste of time. whoever the people are answering the phone for appointments she be re educated on what this company can do and not do. read more

Christian and the apprentice shadowing him were both very polite and friendly. Even though I'm on the east side, they were able to make it in a timely manner and even let me track their progress through a website. They wore shoe coverings when stepping into the house, which was very nice. The main issue I had was a simple fix, but they also found another issue and fixed that right up without additional charge. read more

Over-rated & outer worldly expensively. Needed 3 outdoor sconces which I already purchased installed. The tech (who was nice & professional) said it'll take about 20mins each to install the sconces and quoted me over $945 for install. Insanity. I asked him if I can speak with his manager to negotiate as a first time customer. He called his manager and told him the customer wanted to speak with him. The manager (RANDY) said no, he wasn't speaking with me and the price wasn't negotiable. Like, I might've even moved forward with the install but the fact the manager essentially told me to go pound sand, well I told them to go pound sand. Also, the tech arrived my property without a face mask on, I asked him if he was vaccinated and he said NO. What world are we living in here??? Horrible. You can find equal or better quality service elsewhere for WAY LESS. read more

Very knowledgeable and professional. I would not trust anyone else with my electrical needs.

I got West Houston Electric's phone number from a friend of mine at work. I have since used them to do the electrical work at 2 homes. At my first home I had them add electrical outlets and replace the old federal pacific circuit breaker panel. When I sold the first house and moved into my current home I had them add electrical outlets in the garage and replace the old rusted out circuit breaker panel. Here is a pro tip, do not leave pool chlorine in the garage it rusts all the steel in the garage. The breaker box was rusting away in place. West Houston replaced it quickly. They are professional and do a great job. read more

My neighbor and I both used West Houston Electric to replace our breaker panel. After doing a month of research and getting 3 bids we decided to go with West Houston Electric. Their bid was in the middle of the three bids. The electrician (Drew) came out at the promise time to give us the bid. One of the reasons we accepted West Houston Electric's bid was because after receiving the bid I had a few questions. I called the office and talked to Randy (?). Randy explained everything in detailed and reassured my desire in going with West Houston. The electrician, Drew, came out and he was the same guy who gave us the bid. Once again, he came out at the promised time to do the work. The company will send you a text message showing a gps map with the electrician's time of arrival so you know exactly when he's coming. They also include a photo of the electrician. The work was done in the August heat and the only break taken was for lunch. Even then, Drew made sure our electricity was turned back on before he went on his lunch break. When he came back from lunch, he installed a new grounding wire and then checked the circuits through out the house. He made a printed label (not hand written) and attached it to the breaker box. When the City inspector came out to look at the installation he said, "You picked a great electrician because he did an excellent job." This company really has it's act together. We couldn't be happier with the work from West Houston Electric and they will be our choice for all our electrical needs. read more

We contacted West Houston Electric. The proposal was to install copper pigtails on all lights, switches and plugs using the alumniconn process, install a 200 amp electrical service, fix the junction boxes in the attic, install shut off boxes for the air-conditioners and get a City of Houston permit. There were a few other things he did as well. Less than 18 days after we signed the contract and made a 10% down payment he began work and he had the work completed, inspected and signed by the city four days later. The work area inside and out was meticulous with our tenant not inconvenienced. Wow! The price was great. The five year warranty was also terrific. I say that Randy Deyo and his son Steven Deyo deserve your business. Both are master electricians. You can call me a really satisfied customer. Regards, Henry Malkin read more

I was really looking forward to working with this company after the good review below but I feel taken advantage of. First, I had to call 4 times to get anyone to call me back. After someone finally called me they were able to come out quickly, which was nice. I only needed the outlets on the outside of my house fixed, none of them were working. They arrived and the issue ended up being they had to push one button to fix all the outlets. That one push of a button ended up costing me $150!!! They weren't here for longer than 10 minutes. When the guy saw the surprise of my face, he asked "didn't the people at the office tell you our basic service charge?" I said "no. Not at all." But he still didn't give me a break or waiver on the price, he just said "sorry, that's the price" and waited for me to write a check. If you call these people make sure you have enough work for them to do to make the $150 worth it. read more

They came on time and finished up in a reasonable amount of time on the new recessed lights we wanted put in. We probably paid too much but they did do a good job. These folks were just great. I had problems getting another electrical company to call me to set up an appointment with me. I called West Houston Electric and told them what I needed and one of their electricians called back in about an hour and setup an appointment for the next day and arrived when they said they would. They looked at what i needed and quoted me a price which I though was more that fair. They didn't have all the parts needed, so while one of them worked on the project the other one went to get parts. Upon him arriving back they quickly completed the project. They were very professional, put down cloths to keep the debris from getting all over everything and cleaned up after themselves. I will definitely use them again and would recommend them for any of your electrical needs. read more
