After Hurricane Beryl, the city had been in disarray with the power coming off and on in our neighborhood. My older neighbors were having issue with their alarm system going off. Because they were leasing the house through a property management company, they didn't know the alarm code or who they needed to contact about the problem. I mistakenly picked the wrong company to contact and I spoke with Armando. Although the couple weren't his clients, he went above and beyond to help in a way that the actual security company chose not to. Because of his help, my neighbors were able to deactivate the alarm code. Sean and Armando at Central Security are great at what they do... keeping your house protected! Their customer service is so much better than you're going to get from a big company. They installed an Alarm.com system using my home's already installed sensors and a few additional sensors. In the year since the original install, they've been prompt and professional with any issues that I have had. They usually will send someone out same day to fix a problem. Also, no long term contracts and their prices are affordable. They use a 24/7 monitoring center based in San Antonio, so no worries there either. I have to say that this company has the most amazing people working for them. I started my monitored alarm service at the end of January 2012 and have nothing but GREAT things to say about them. Armando has taken care of every single problem I've had within 48 hours! Definitely knows what he is doing and does everything possible to resolve the problem in one visit. It's been almost six months since I signed on with Central Security.My apartment got broken into six months ago and with that, I decided I needed security monitoring. Better late than never, right? I researched companies all over Houston. Even decided to let ADT come in and give me a consultation. Protip: This really means, "Come into my home and try to strongarm me into buying things I don't need, condescend me and then imply that if I don't make my decision RIGHT NOW for a 3 year, unbreakable contract (and, no, paying the remainder of my monitoring contract in a lump sum is not 'cancelling') I will get my apartment broken into again." Most companies did not offer wireless apartment alarm systems, and I was pretty much ready to cry at this point. Then I went with Central Security. Armando and Scott were amazing. Not only did they not feed me lines, they scheduled an appointment right away, showed up when they were supposed to, and did a quick and very professional job. WHAT. Impossible. I felt like I was a human being instead of a percentage of a sales quota. I haven't had any problems with the system, and the monitoring has been lightning fast the few times maintenance accidentally set the alarm off. So not only do I have an alarm system that I own (not pay $399 to rent), but I have montly monitoring at around $35 with no contract, which is $10 cheaper than those 36-month contracts. Seriously, go with Central Security. I will be forever thankful that for their professionalism and attention to customer service that made what was a very stressful experience infinitely more manageable. read more

My husband contacted this company, and got in touch with Armando. He was way impressed with customer service, and how Armando explained everything to him in detail over the phone. Based on this he went ahead and scheduled the appt! Scott called ahead of time and showed up just as scheduled. ( this goes a long way for me considering comcast and charter cant do the same! ) He walked us through what he was going to do and asked what equipment we wanted installed. Once we agreed to everything, he worked very diligently on his own. If it wasnt for the occassional beeping of the equipment, I wouldnt have remembered he was there! After 6 months and some service calls, I feel he has done a terrific job for us and glad we went with them versus the other company who I haved used in the past. I've personally met and dealt with Armando, Felipe, and Scott from Central Security. Each one is very professional and has addressed my questions and needs. I've had Protection One, Alarm Masters, and ADT at my home and business locations and CS has been the best experience hands down. They're pricing is also significantly less than the others and they will stay on the job until you are happy with the service and product. We recently paid KB Homes and paid HomePro to install an alarm system. We originally contacted CS just for monitoring. Upon inspection, the monitored fire/smoke detectors that we paid over $500 each for to the builder, weren't even hooked up. Our builder hasn't offered to do anything to remedy their screw up (one of many) even after acknowledging it is there fault. CS actually got the original system working, but I was not satisfied with the protection and/or coverage provided. I asked about upgrading and they actually tried to talk me out of it and gave me several less expensive options (same equipment, different alarm company that offered free equipment). I chose to stick with CS based on their service and atention to my needs up to that point. I ended up insisting on staying with CS and couldn't be happier with my decision. CS came out and replaced my (barely 2 month old system) for a system that could provide the features I wanted. The manufacturer of the product had some updates that caused some issues. However, CS never once complained or disappointed me through the process of working things out. They took it upon themselves to come and swap out equipment in an effort to remedy the situation quicker, and extra fees never even came up. In the end, everything is working great now. They still contact me from time to time just to check to make sure everything's going well. And for the bes part, there is no contract! A company that provides a service without a contract, has to perform the service well. All the big companies that make you sign lengthy contracts use that contract against you when something bad happens. You have no recourse but to let them fix (however long that takes), or leave and pay a hefty fee. read more

I detest sales people that desperately try to take your money and really pressure you into you spending extra money on something you don't need. I did have an issue come up with installation afterwards, but Scott was very responsive and quickly mended the problem. Scott seriously needs some love on here. Not sure why he hasn't been mentioned yet, but Scott was fantastic. Everything people wrote about Armando, they could have been writing about Scott. I met both of them since Armando had to drop off a 2nd alarm pad while Scott was installing. Regardless of how nice they are, it comes down to business. And it's just a no-lose situation with Central Security. When it comes to making decisions on cable, internet, phone, and alarm systems, it's all the same; with those big companies, you just don't understand what it is exactly you are paying for and then you get locked into long-term contracts where they have little reason to help you. With Central Security, this company allows you to pay month to month at a rate very comparable with the other companies and gives you a discount if you do want to pay a year in advance (1 month free). You pay the first and last month upfront and you can cancel with a 90 day notice but they've cancelled a client's service 1 day after a notice before. You, as a customer, have leverage with the company because if they don't come out and replace a battery for you, you can leave the next month! They take their customer service seriously. They use a certified monitoring company to actually monitor the alarms and they explain exactly how the whole industry works if you want to know. I went with Central Security to install my home security system based on Yelp reviews (and cross-referencing them with Angie's List reviews). Central Security has been nothing short of excellent. Armando, my main point of contact, was very professional; he provided lots of information about alarm systems in general (as I was deciding between several companies) and was great not only at setting up my alarm system and patiently teaching me about it, but incidentally helping me come to a decision on which security cameras to install (he does not sell security cameras, but I had been looking to have another company assist me with this when he gave me his 2 cents and swayed me in a different direction). He even came back out again and helped install my security cameras at no additional fee. Additionally, he provided his cell phone number in case there are ever any issues with the alarm system in the future (luckily, I have had no issues to date). It's rare that you find this level of customer service these days, as I've had a couple of not-so-great experiences with contractors since newly owning a home. read more

Executive Summary: Superior response time, solid installation, excellent customer service. We bought a new home with a GE alarm already installed. I was not interested in putting in a different system as some other companies had suggested. I spoke with Armando who gave me advice about my system over the phone, and we scheduled a visit for the following week. He arrived on schedule, looked over my system and was able to set it up with CS. He showed me an App that allowed me to remotely set the alarm but did not pressure me to buy it (I did and it's awesome, FWIW). He fully explained to me how to use the system, how to add users, and what to do if there is a problem. He also gave me all the documentation for my insurance discount and showed me how to have the alarm registered with the city. Very frustrating experience. We changed our weekend plans to accommodate installation - they came in and said I needed to pay ~$130 for some appliance. This was not mentioned in our initial conversation (which I had detailed notes of). Armando kept on insisting I was wrong - implying I saw lying over $130. We could have moved forward and completed the if he acknowledged this was an oversight in initial conversation. But that never happened. Just to start off this is not Central Security Group. Its Central Security soon to be Security Alarm Pro www.securityalarmpro.com. I have a very old system that had stopped working. Rick came out and gave me a very reasonable price on a new one and setup. We had various obstacles to get around with the install and some issues with the wireless in an all steel building and high frequency welders. We decided on a wired system. Rick worked very hard to get my old pieces working with the new pieces and stayed far past the time when most would have given up and gone home. I was impressed by the his interest in giving me what I wanted and not what was easiest for him. He stayed till it was done I think about 4 or 5 hours. No extra charges or I can't do this or that, he gave me what I wanted and explained it all to me and gave me options. It also came with an app so I can arm and disarm remotely for employees. Unfortunately my stupid apartment complex (West U btw) does not allow any sort of wiring and requires a complete wireless system so it didn't end up working out. The reason I'm posting this review even though I didn't end requiring the security services was that Armando walked me through many options even though he didn't have to. He wasn't condescending/rude or impatient. Very rarely does someone give you good information for free and walk you through steps and recommend other businesses. This guy knows his stuff is great and reputable without shoving his business in your face. A company like that is rare to find. I found Central security on Yelp, they are the best and most reviewed. Armando was easy to contact and scheduled the appointment by txt. Came, fixed some existing wiring issues, added a cell transmitter with smartphone app capabilities, added additional motion sensors, added alarm panel in bedroom, and everything is up and running within 1.5hrs. We just pay a flat $30 monthly fee for cell and alarm monitoring. No need to get a landline. The alarm pays for itself after home insurance savings so there is no reason not to arm yourself. They can even use parts of your existing system if you have one. The monthly monitoring fee is much less if you are a business when compared to the big guys. Our business monitoring bill is $1200 per year less. I really don't think there's a better security group in the greater Houston area than Armando and Central Security. I like to think I am fairly informed about alarm products available to the average consumer. I did my research and personally bought my own 2Gig equipment, which is a commonly used system. I am very specific about my needs and had a difficult time finding a professional installer who was knowledgeable about my system and how to integrate my existing home automation setup. I even had one of the larger providers in the area come to my residence and had zero clue how to set everything up! Finally, I found Central Security and just from a quick phone conversation, I knew Armando was the guy. He knew exactly what to do and how to do it. He was johnny on the spot with scheduling and brought his partner to make quick work. I made things difficult by the integration of existing devices but they had no problem working with the product manufactures to tie everything in with my alarm system. They were very forthcoming with their services, pricing, and even their monitoring contract. Since I had called around, I had a general understanding of market pricing. Central Security was on par with the market, if not a little cheaper. I MADE A YELP ACCOUNT JUST TO SAY HOW EXTREMELY SATISFIED I AM WITH CENTRAL SECURITY AND ARMANDO'S SERVICES!!!! Customer service is bar none. Equipment and service are flawless and the price simply can not be beat. Armando gave me several options on customizing the system to fit our needs. I've been a customer since August of 2013. On initial set up Armando thoroughly explained everything to me. Took his time on the install and was in no rush even though I know he had a busy schedule. He gave us print out defining all the codes we and tips we needed to operate the system. During the 1st week of service...while I was at work, I was sent a text telling me that my alarm had been set off. I called Armando because I wasnt sure what the notification code in the text meant. He explained to me that it meant that alarm was in fact going off in our home. He told me that he was currently on an install and that he could be by to check on my house in the next 20mins. Depsite my worries of some thief being on my phone, I was extremely amazed that he would even offer to do that! Being that I work an hour away I took Armando up on his offer. He was there within 15 mins and told me that all seemed well. No broken windows or kicked in doors and it must have been a false alarm. I contacted this company after reading the reviews on Yelp. I ended up having the same great experience using them to upgrade my alarm system. My old company wanted to charge over $900 for a few simple upgrades. Central Security replaced my old system, and added extra features for far less. Plus, Armando was very knowledgeable about everything concerning alarms systems. There was no salesman to talk to. He had everything he needed on the truck, so everything was installed on the first appointment. Anything that I wanted done - he did it.
