James (Jaime) Macinnis resolved the problem in a few minutes. Back at my apartment the keyboard and mouse worked fine. I have used their services since 2011. This is a lovely little cell phone store right next to my gym, which offers very cheap service and pretty decent prices on repairs and accessories and whatnot. It's definitely cheaper than the likes of a Verizon store or not.
