Needed some repairs on my laptop and was worried that I would need to buy a new one after only having it three years. When I came in, Joel was able to determine that it just needed a new hard drive and some ram which saved me from having to pay a couple hundred dollars more. It is now better and faster than it ever was, and can't thank Joel enough for the work that he put into my laptop. Really frustrated with Microcenter, i specifically ordered a power supply that was online and arrived today to pick it up and somehow it magically disappeared. They had three different individuals search for it and inconveniently they are sold out now. So a 90 minute drive and a huge line to wait to get in the store (literally 50+ people in line) was an utter complete waste of time. You would think a good customer service centric company would apologize, take ownership and offer the customer something to solve the problem. Nope! All they did was tell me to keep looking online and better luck next time.....wtf!? Seriously this was a moment to shine and take ownership. none of remember his name, he was the cashier at isle 10 at around 11:00am/11:30am~ 05/03/2023, my friends and i went in to buy a PC for our friend, and our friend paid $600 in cash but $50 in $1.00s and we felt really bad but the guy who helped us was super chill and made a joke abt it. he wasn't upset, rude or had an attitude in any regards even though i personally would have cried if someone paid with that many ones. there was also someone who helped us pick out all the parts, he was by the station near the CPU and ram. super calm and helpful. explained everything to us with respect even thought we might have been kinda stressful, and got us literally everything and under budget but good parts for our friends PC. we just told him the price and what we wanted to play and he immediately got it for us but explained to us what it was. (around 11:00am~) the only reason though it's not getting 5 stars was because as we were checking out i guess our cashier explained the return policy a bit incorrectly to us and my friends said this guy, really long dark hair, came from across the checkout place to correct him, in front of us and with a like "actually/i'm better than you" tone to the cashier. he wasn't nice about it :( our cashier was really professional and was just like "ah ok, my bad" but the person with the long hair could have been a lot nicer about it in our opinion. idk if they had bad intentions but it seemed to us he was happy his co-worker messed up because they wanted their chance to correct the cashier in front of customers :( the two who helped us tho (the CPU guy and the cashier) please give them a raise ! very nice and very helpful and genuinely made us not concerned with the price our friend spent bc everything was explained well and gave us important tips as we were checking out. read more

Would give 0 stars if I could. I've been a Microcenter customer for years. Bought a refinished MacBook Pro a handful of years ago and it has been working great but when trying to update to the new iOS (Monterey) my computer locked up and I took it to the Apple Store. Was there twice for a total of 4 hours trying to get a fix and finally we discovered it was a non-Apple part that was faulty that was the route of the issue. Took it to Microcenter to see what could be done since I was sold a computer with a faulty part and the Apple tech that I spoke to gave me no solution other than getting a new computer. He was very rude and said the Apple Store employee was lying. I understand they get the refurbished computers by a vendor, Microcenter should be held responsible if they sell a faulty unit. Beware of getting anything used here. read more

It was my husband first time dealing with this company and we had nothing but issues. I would not recommend this company. We live 2 hours away from the Dallas store and had issues and tried to get them resolved. What should have taken a few hours took a week. Customer service was horrible, communication was non existent, and management/techs were shady. After over 2k spent, we won't be spending any more at that place. Horrible company. read more

If you need computer parts or any parts for your tech needs, this store is the place to find it all. I found the parts I needed online and then went to the store. The website even told me what aisle I'd find the parts on. A very nice staff person also assisted me and answered some questions that I had. The service here is great! (Much better than at the place that begins with "Best" LOL). Prices are on par with those at Fry's or any other real electronics parts store. Of course, you can also purchase items online and then do a quick in-store pickup. This store was adequately staffed, which is a rarity these days. I was in and out with the correct parts in a flash! I have mixed feelings. I like it because it's pretty much the only tech store in the whole of dfw (best buy and all the others don't count because they don't have all the highly specialized items that they have or like Fry's used to have). Other than that, I dislike their floor customer assistants. They most of the time evade you unless you have items on your hand then they're all over you to try to tag them with the sticker to make it look they helped you find something. They specifically avoid you when you're about to ask something but when you found your stuff they're out there looking out waiting for the opportunity to tag your items. read more

Micro Center is one of my favorite places shop for computers and electronics. It reminds me of Frys and Incredible Universe a bit. You can see the physical products and demo quite a few laptops, monitors and tvs. I have never had any issues with customer service. The negative reviews are definitely off base from what it's really like at Micro Center. My dad and I are always asked if we need help with anything and a salesperson always helps us find what we were searching for. There was never any pressure to buy even after I asked tons of questions. If you have never been definitely go check it out. You will have a good experience and find what you need! read more

This place literally has 3 sales people and is constantly busy with people trying to get a computer. The wait is 45 min - hour just to talk to someone, then they try to sell you everything under the book. Is bad, really bad. They used to be ok and only a few minute wait for sales but now waiting an hour even if you already know what you want and all they have to do is pull it is terrible. If you anticipate business, and don't let customers pull their own stock, hire more sales people! read more

Maybe you ask why I gave this store such a low rating. Or not , but I will tell you. My husband and I had been loyal customers for quite some years. We (mostly him) have built our pcs from scratch, using components from Microcenter. Bought many keyboards, mice, monitors, etc from there too. The associates were polite and helpful. When they recommended to get the warranty from microcenter, we gladly got it. We never had ANY problems returning items. Unfortunately, today my husband tried returning a video card that was glitching and not working correctly for his 3 monitor setup. While waiting for a long time and speaking with the manager or person in charge of returns, he was given the cold shoulder. They would not honor their own warranty. He was told they needed to run a simulation of his setup at home there. Keep in mind that he uses 3 monitors but they ran the simulation with only one monitor and not at the same 240 hz needed to duplicate his setup at home. He was told he needed to bring his computer and entire setup to prove there was something wrong with the card. That is impossible with 3 monitors and a huge Helios computer case.Doing that could possibly damage other components in the case . After not exchanging his video card or offering to repair it, she continued to carelessly disconnected the card from their pc. My husband had to interfere and remove it himself. Oh did I mention that she walked away from him rudely?!? Is this how you treat loyal customers ? Sadly, we will never be returning to this store again. They definitely need to treat customers with more respect than this , I don't care if you are having a bad day . Do better ! read more

I don't care for this place ever since I took my 11inch laptop to get the "Frame" of the screen fixed since there was a slight break in it. It was a perfect laptop, small enough to fit in a handbag to take on planes and it had a DVD blue ray player/ recorder. They had it for 3 weeks, I finally went there to see how far they got when they brought out a horrible disassembled mess. They had broke it and I had paid them over $1000 for that thin frame to replace. THEY USED MY COMPUTER FOR PARTS‼! How could they! It was ruined. I never did get the computer or the money back, and I never found one again new or used, that small with a Blueray player DVD recorder in it. read more

Ended up with a refund and bought a CyberPowerPC. Do yourself a favor and beware PowerSpec. You are just expendable to the staff. Update May 10 2023 Called in Customer Support. Tech went the normal troubleshooting process everyone does, but then proceeds to tell me to look at the MB to verify the status light in the posting process. It's stuck on the 3rd light which is Video, exactly like it was before I even brought it in for fixing. He states that the problem is with the video aspect (wow, really?) and instructs me to do a CMOS Reset and that would fix the video aspect issue. At this point, I believe that everyone in MC thinks I don't know anything about computers, the CMOS Battery affects the internal clock and does not block the PC from posting a startup process, but he swears that 95% of the time it fixes my posting issue. Guess what? I still have a $1k+ paperweight LOL. It's either the MB or GPU and if it were the GPU, I would get an image from the MB outputs with the GPU taken off and it's not happening (GPU was taken off by the instruction of the CSR by phone to do the failed CMOS Reset fix). Then a lady (Manager) from the store calls me, offers to fix my PC on the spot as soon as I come back into the store, great! an extra 500 mile drive ($$$) thanks to a tech that didn't change the MB like I told him in the first place. How many times do I have to drive down to Dallas for them to actually fix my issue? Also, If you pay for the extended warranty, their webpage states "Priority repair with expedited service at Micro Center"; what I got got was " You aren't the only out of state customer". At this point, they should just give me a new PC because I don't trust a tech that considers a reimage to be a fix for a posting issue on the MB and doesn't even do a backup of all my data on even a flash drive before nuking my PC. 1 to 0 if it were possible, lol Update May 9 2023 So went Saturday (May 6) to pick up my PC. Tech informed they did a reimage and performed tests, to his account the PC was running how it is supposed too; One detail, I explained to the tech that the motherboard needs to be changed because after doing some research the Asus X570 Gaming TUF motherboards came out faulty. The motherboard was not changed and was blamed on a corrupted OS. Went back my merry way to Tulsa, plugged it in, everything good. Fast forward to Tuesday May 8, PC is turning off by itself, playing a game the screen turned green and lost visuals completely and today I turned it on, booted to just go black. So all my data got blown to nothing, I can't do my school work, and I can't keep running my CAD projects on an unfixed PC. It's unacceptable that a company sends out a faulty product just to get a customer out of their hair. Thank you Micro Center for selling me a $1000+ paperweight and an extra 2 year warranty with it, then fixing it so it can turn into a turd bucket. Then all of the CSR's start sending emails on how they can make it better because they got a negative review. Here's a few ideas, hire more people that can answer the phone, give periodic status updates on repairs, actually fix the stuff that goes in your store. 2 to 1 May 4 2023 So, I bought a Powerspec in September. Everything was working awesome till it just stopped last week. Customer support is a nightmare, website chat doesn't give you any answers and drop the chat when it's convenient for them, there's no phone number to call in store due to not having enough staff, to reach anyone in store you have to text to see if someone miraculously answers and I'm still waiting an answer 4 hours later. Drove down from Tulsa 4 hours, Tech asked manager about expediting, 48 hour wait. so 4 days after, no life signs whatsoever when it's most probably a motherboard or processor swap; know trying to get a hold of anyone just to see what's happening with my PC and I'm up in the air. GREAT! My friend recommended this place, but I had a better experience with CyberpowerPC; they keep track of everything by phone and online, plus they keep you up to date with the repair! read more

Found a product advertised online for $480.00 which was showing only option was to buy in store. Spoke to a representative via chat to confirm availability and price before commuting 45 min one way to the store. When I arrived and tried to obtain the product, I was told the online price was incorrect and the actual price was $1500+. Despite efforts, there was no attempt to help ease the situation and the actual price remained firm. Beyond asking, there was not much argument made in store because the representative may not have much leeway. I understand there was a large difference in price, but there should have been a little concession. Very poor customer experience. I'll go ahead and post Micro Center's stock response for other customer's similar experience so they don't have to: "We are very sorry that you feel this way. I paid for a replacement by extended warranty for my BrotherPrinter:LC5800. Whenn I went to calim for it, they took the old one and said they were out of Brother LC5800 but I could keep ckecking truck loa which come in 3x weekly. This is a popular printer. It has been since April that I have been calling for it and each time they say there was no shipment to here in North Dallas TX. With prices going up I feel I am being scammed because they do not want to honor my legitimate 2 year warranty. I will never trust them again and warn my friends, family, and anyone else to stay the hell away for their own peace of mind. This particular MC location is absolutely terrible in terms of caring for their customers. They are aware of what's happening and continue to be extremely negligent in regards for the safety of those who wait in line JUST TO GET THE CHANCE to buy a gpu. The "line" is controlled by a group of scalpers that smoke weed on the premises, cheat the system by paying people to swap with them, and almost get in physical altercations if people don't bend to their rules. Just earlier this week, MC posted new rules stating how it's not allowed to line up before 9 am yet the same group manages to break those rules. And what does the management do? Nothing. They allow them to buy multiple gpus and even high-faves one of them. TLDR; bad management allows group of scalpers that smoke weed on premises and will fight people to be in front of the line. read more

I am a PC building enthusiast and I used to shop exclusively online outlets like tiger direct and newegg. When I discovered micro center I was really excited. They have pretty good selection and they price match my old online outlets. Their staff is reasonably knowledgeable. The reason for the gushing five star review is their service department. After spending nearly $2,000 on a new custom build from micro center I was having some issues with my pc. I brought it in and they ran a diagnostic. The technician told me it could take up to three days for the repairs to be complete. When I expressed my distress they bent over backwards to get my repair done the next day. Not only did they get my repair done quickly. But they replaced my motherboard, which was actually defective, and threw in a new CPU (because I had expressed dissatisfaction with not being able to overclock the current one very well) at no additional Charge. For the bench fee of $40 and the install fee of $80 I got a brand new CPU and Mobo. These guys are great! Highly recommend them for any PC enthusiasts out there!! read more

I took my Apple iMac in for service. The gentleman who checked me in at the counter was extremely friendly and helpful. He immediately took the unit back and had his tech "Jonesy" run a test. It turned out my hard drive was the issue. We discussed options and pricing. He said he could have it ready in a couple of days. Later that evening I received a text that the unit was fixed a ready for pickup. Wow, same day service. The next morning I drove over and picked it up. As I was checking out the service department manager came up (unsolicited) and shook my hand and personally thanked me for coming in and allowing Micro Center to perform the service. The whole experience was top notch. I am now a devoted Micro Center customer. Other businesses could take a cue from this example. Outstanding!! read more
