I feel fortunate that we have a Micro Center in our city. Even though it is small, it is still a great place to go for technology products. Whether you are looking for printer supplies, charging components, or devices such as phones, tablets, computers, etc., you can find good quality at a reasonable price. The selection isn't abundant, but you can get what you need to get by. The staff here are great. They are generally hands-off, but if you need their help, they are knowledgeable and will assist you. Even when I think my questions might stump them, they are willing to pull out a product, test a hypothesis, and give me a working solution to my problem. My laptop was old. It worked, but it was really slow. It took it a long time to start up. I had to wait several minutes for it to verify that none of my thousands of decades old photos is a viral threat every time I turned the power on. Performance dropped to almost nothing while it banged the hell out of my hard drive. Installing annual tax software apps was out of the question because my operating system was too old. It was time to retire the beast. I did some checking online and found a Dell laptop that suits my needs, with a decent size solid state hard drive. Not interested in anything from HP any more, but that's another story. Of course, one thing leads to another. My old monitor only has a vga input. Another item headed for the scrap heap. Not going to try using a cable that's supposed to convert HDMI (digital) to VGA (analog). Amazing things you can do with wire? Headed across town to visit Micro Center. Everybody was friendly and helpful. People even wanted to make sure my wife was comfortable while I was talking to an associate that I was able to snag and ask about a hundred questions. Mr. D. Thompson was very helpful. He showed me the Dell laptop and monitor I was wanting and didn't try to up-sell me on anything. We also discussed options to replace my dreaded HP printer because it certainly won't be compatible. Mr. Thompson also reminded me to turn off s mode on the laptop, so I can run app that aren't from Microsoft. I wouldn't have remembered that tip, from year gone by. He also had good advise on virus protection. I made my purchase and didn't break the bank. Their prices were really in line with the prices I saw online. I used Micro Center for all of my computer build. The Intel core Ultra 7-265K was on sale along with an extra discount for bundling it with a X890 ASUS mother board. The price on that was unbeatable compared to Amazon. The other items I purchased were all competitively priced so I ended up getting everything at Micro Center. The online process was easy and everything was ready when I picked up the 13 items the next day. The clerk at the pickup area suggested I might want the $49 insurance deal on the Gigabyte GPU but I declined and there was no further hard sell. I figured if the GPU goes bad, If will usually be during the warranty period but who knows. As a side note, the Lian Li A3 Dan with the wood panel in the front is awesome if you're looking for a mid size case taking the microATX/mITX mother boards. The airflow is excellent. read more

Recently, I went in to upgrade my GPU with a small amount of knowledge about what would work with my current build. The associate who helped me, Phil, was so incredible. There is no phone number for individual stores. The "Chat" function on their webpage in non-functional. I called the phone number found on Yelp and it connects you to a national call center, not the store. I asked the rep why they required a phone number to check out as a "Guest" and they said they would not keep that phone number or email. Which is strange as I started this process and now I am getting their newsletter in my email. This is not how customer service is done. You should be able to call a store. Therefore, I will not take my business to them. read more

I came into Microcenter to have the keyboard replaced on my laptop. Step 1: Sign in using Kiosk. Step 2: Wait 1 hour for them to call your name. Step 3: Walk to the counter, tell the person what you want done and have them say that you need to leave your laptop with them for 6-8 weeks while they order the part and repair it. Who can do without their only computer for 6-8 weeks???? I asked if they could order the part and call me when it arrives to schedule an appt for it to be repaired. Nope - "we don't work that way". So frustrating to wait an hour for them to tell me that their service procedure needs major improvement. read more

I had a great service experience here while helping a family member out of state purchase a CPU. I walked in with a picture of the item and two employees pointed me to the correct area of the store. Purchased a printer from micro center in Parkville. Unable to get it to connect. Called their tech service. A $50 fee was charged. The tech determined the printer was defective and recommended we return the printer. We did. Micro center will not stand behind their store that sold defective equipment and refund the $50. Had we been culpable in any manner it would be ok to charge the fee. But the printer was the problem. read more

Found a movie projector on Amazon on 1/31/26. It would have been 2 days to ship. I wanted it for the weekend, so I looked locally. Called Micro Center, asked if they price matched Amazon. They said "yes". I asked again, because I had an hour drive there. They said "yes" again after my concern about the drive. When I arrived, they refused to price match because it was a 3rd party vendor selling on Amazon. I didn't ask them to change their policy, I asked them to honor what their onsite employee told me on the phone. I will never be shopping there again, and I've spent thousands there the last few years. I would not recommend this business to anyone, stay clear. read more

They gaslit my partner when you brought his rebuild project here. We made it clear we were from Austin when we showed up for our appointment Friday night and they were adamant that they would be done the next day. When he went to check on his rebuild Sunday afternoon they told him it would take two weeks and backtracked on their previous word that it would be done the next day, basically saying that what he heard before was wrong and they wouldn't have told him it would be done that weekend. read more

Picked it up, and it immediately crashed again. Took it back, only to hear the motherboard is bad, and will be at least 4-6 weeks for the new motherboard. Absolute joke! The Nvidia 50 series GPU craze is insane but for those that were brave enough to deal with freezing temps in a line up early this morning we are elated to finally get a new graphics card at the retail price. After the 5080s were sold online in seconds I wasn't taking a chance on missing out on this launch. Micro Center knows how to do an in person launch. This is the only way gamers can get their hands on the latest Nvidia cards due to bots buying out everything online in seconds. It was well below freezing temps this morning but the store would occasionally let us know the game plan while waiting in line. Vouchers handed out before the doors opened. At door opening the queue is organized and civilized and much warmer inside! The 5070 Ti stock was still plentiful and available for us (we arrived to lineup at 6am). These people are a joke. I've dealt with them twice and both times they have broken my electronics more than when I brought them in. The first time when I was upgrading my PC, they messed up the BIOS and I had to get a new motherboard. The store is pretty cool and MOST of the staff was very helpful. I had placed my order online for a large number of PC upgrade parts, I went up to the pick up counter, and the guy was nice at first, but definitely lacked eye contact.. he got all my items together and asked me if I wanted to purchase the insurance on the parts I had initially said "no thank you" but he was quite persistent. I told him no again and then he went on a small rant about how often the parts break.. I don't know too much about parts. I had my boyfriend put it all together online so that I wouldn't have to think about anything, I could just pay for it. I felt pressured so I just said sure, Yeah I guess I'll take the insurance.. as I was about to pay, I mentioned that I called ahead asking if they did a military/1st responder discount, the employee on the phone said yes, there is a first responder discount. I mentioned that to the cashier and he said I have been working here for two years and I've never heard of that. I reiterated that I called ahead to make sure that this was an option. He again said "nope, not here." As I left the store, I felt a little upset about the whole interaction . I called my boyfriend to explain, and he said that I definitely got scammed and taken advantage of because I'm a woman. I returned inside with my receipt and asked to speak with a manager ( Joshua F.) who cleared up the whole situation and gave me a refund on the insurance.. I explained that I know the guy was doing his job however I did say no thank you twice. I made sure that I'm getting top-of-the-line parts. They shouldn't have any issues. But other than the one guy everybody there was really nice and very helpful I looked around the store a little bit before going to pick up my purchase and I had asked questions on numerous items and the staff was very friendly. read more

I recently had several incredibly unpleasant experiences at MC, primarily due to the behavior of one of the cashiers; Eddy. From the moment I approached the checkout, Eddy was shockingly rude and demeaning. He made snide comments about the items I was purchasing. Another time I personally witnessed him openly ridicule another customer that had just had their card decline, and even went as far as to badmouth a previous customer after they had left because they had tried to return something. His attitude was utterly unprofessional, and it was clear he had no regard for basic customer service standards. Instead of providing assistance or a friendly interaction, he made me and others feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. The worst part is that I usually love going to Micro Center but nowadays I'll often tell myself it's not worth stopping by because I'll probably leave in a sour mood due to this person's attitude. read more
