It was like I had a brand new computer as far as the speed and ease of navigating from one site to another. Today I had a problem with my screen on the same laptop with about 1/4 of it being blurred out. I took it in and the tech spent about five minutes and found out what the problem was and resolved it. I needed a new UPS after an old one was malfunctioning, even with new replacement batteries installed. I had my eye on the CyberPower GX1500U. After checking out competing prices (with shipping and/or taxes) between all retailers selling the product, Altex had the cheapest offer. I never heard of Altex until recently and the fact they have no stores outside of Texas, I would only place one online order as a guest as there's no chance I would order anything else from them in the future. When I received the delivery box, I was ready to test and hook up the GX1500U to back up my PC. Instead, I saw a CyberPower LX1500GU (which was delivered from this particular store) inside the box, which doesn't have certain features that the GX1500U provides. Feeling pissed over this mistake on Altex's end, I sent them a couple of e-mails about it with proof. A web salesman named Don responded that he asked this store to ship out the GX1500U that I ordered and provided me a pre-paid shipping label to return the LX1500GU, all at no charge to me. I received the correct UPS a few days afterwards and I shipped back their mistake a few weeks after that. read more

Great place to buy cables, much cheaper than any other electronics store. The only downside to Altex is that they waste allot of room with computer gear which is WAY overpriced and has often sat there so long that is become out of date. When you read that people love this place you think ok, maybe. When your computer that runs your entire business gets a virus, you take your machine to them at 6:00 at time of closing and they welcome you in and spend 2 hours working on your computer instead of going home to eat dinner with their families you can FEEL THE LOVE! Jason and Uberto (and a third guy who I didn't get the name of) stayed until they were sure my system would work to run my business the next day. I don't have enough room to explain all the good qualities they exhibited, there were many. Staff is very helpful and knowledgable, not some half-wit who can't even spell "PC" let alone help you with the right part. BUYER BEWARE!!!!!!!Do not purchase anything from this store unless you enjoy poor cusomer service and faulty products. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED. On June 9th 2020. I purchased a raser gaming mouse from Altex. Initially the mouse worked fine until it didnt. About 2 months after using the mouse the right click button stopped working. The spinning wheel in the middle also lost the ability to scroll. Anytime I would barley scroll the mouse would bring me to the end of the page. Enough is enough. I called the Altex store I purchased the mouse from, and spoke to someone over the phone. I was told by said person that as long as I was within my 90 day purchase window I would be fine to return or exchange the mouse. Today is September 9th 2020. (I am within my 90 day wondow)I came into the store and explained the situation, and showed them the mouse which Altex admitted the mouse wasnt working properly. The store employee whos name I dont have because it waant visible on his shirt told me that he couldnt find my purchase in the system and without a receipt there was nothing he could do. He could have done something to help but chose not to. Who keeps a reciept for a mouse? Certainly not me. I pulled up my bank statement and showed him the purchase i made on June, 9 2020. However I was told that isnt sufficient. Really a copy of the charge from my bank with their store information isnt sufficient.The guy then has the unmitigated gall to try and sell me another mouse and he will give me a "discount". I need a new mouse but I will not give Altex the business as they clearly do not care about their customers at all. They try to hide behind inflexible policies. Walked up and down the isles looking for this specific cable and couldn't find it, or anything like it. Looked around for some help, didn't see any. EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE! On my first visit, Ken and Michial tested the power supply to my old computer and said it was okay so it must be something else wrong and probably not worth fixing since it is four years old. Michial showed me the Altex AEB-i840 desktop computer that he felt would be best for me. Since I was not familiar with the Altex Brand, the next day, I went shopping at Best Buy, Office Depot and the Micro Center. Absolutely horrible service. In Best Buy and Micro Center, I was walking around for over 10 minutes looking at their computers and no one offered to help me. A young man at Office Depot was very nice but they had a limited supply of desktops. I decided right away that I would go back to Altex to buy my new computer. Katie was great in showing me the computer and explaining the benefits plus they have a 2 year warranty on parts and 1 year on labor. I bought the computer and the next business day, I returned with my old computer and new computer and Michial transferred everything from my old hard drive to my new hard drive plus mounted an adapter in my new computer to place the old hard drive as a backup drive.
