Great food and service. Highly recommended for visitors to Tucson. Had enchiladas and they were great.

Micha's is one of our favorite Mexican restaurants. We split a cheese crisp (and took some home), I had tacos and hubby had a chili relleno. Everything was pretty good. The chile in his relleno was tough and stringy, unlike previous times. The service is usually decent and friendly, this day was no exception. Food is served hot and fresh from the kitchen. Our drinks were refilled promptly without asking. The dining room was clean. We went well after the lunch crowd so the room was quiet and almost empty. Overall, we had a good experience. read more

I'm not sure how this place keeps getting onto the 3.2 stars, but this place is definitely higher than that because that is some of the ratings for a small little fast food Mexican food place. It's a family restaurant and sometimes people have issues with things here but for the most part, it's a good friendly place. Try the cheese soup and let me know if it's just a 3 Star Place. I'm definitely a big fan of this place and keep coming back seeing that it's like cheers to me and the service is friendly and they always recognize me when I come in. Not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing. But just try it. They also do catering. read more

Ok food, ok service, and not so great drinks. I'm honestly surprised this place is still in business. My old job would get cater orders from this place a couple times a year and I always thought the food was nothing special. Run of the mill Mexican food, a little on the bland side. I finally visited the physical restaurant and was surprised with how cute it was, but that was the only real positive. It took our server three asks to get us water, and the margaritas we ordered were literally only sour mix. People in the other comments keep talking about how great the breakfast is, so maybe I'll come back for that. Otherwise, I wouldn't be back. read more

Memories of a packed place on a Friday night...maybe several cars and a few dozen people inside on this visit maybe 10 years since last visit. Food was good...the flat enchiladas was my favorite so ordered them this time around with machaca. Very good, the sauce wasn't what remembered but it was good. Not spicy, just flavorful. Two chicken tacos on flour tortillas with lettuce and cheese...$14 Was told they were ok, just shredded chicken with not much flavor. We ordered guacamole and with some salsa, they were ok tacos. Albondigas soup was third dish. Felt like the broth could have had a lot more flavor and spice but the meatballs were good and the soup had tons of veggies and rice. Overall an ok meal. We stopped in for breakfast, a nostalgic visit for my husband. I had a simple 2 egg breakfast, with bacon (#2) and he had the Michaka breakfast, which is a dish that is difficult to find. I'm the tourist who showed up half an hour after the posted opening time only to find the doors locked. A man sweeping the parking lot told me sometimes the waitress shows up late. I almost escaped, but as I started to edge to my car, the man urged me to look again. It was now open. Drat: The bare menu showed overpriced choices lacking imagination. I committed to what turned out to be a stiff chewy to no delight scrambled egg and green chili pepper burrito. Thank goodness the waitress offered a small cup of red salsa. Ventured to Michas on a Sunday for my husband to try their Menudo (white). Menudo was just alright in his opinion, good broth, but lacking on the tripe. I tried the chorizo and egg breakfast plate. The chorizo was bland and the beans were also nothing special. We both felt our tortillas were old, a bit crusty, just not good. Seems like one of those spots that used to be great, but has maybe gone downhill, just going through the motions. Don't think I'll be back. read more

The chips were store bought. The 1st salsa was way too hot. The 2nd salsa "mild" was tomato sauce only. Service was slow, not very friendly atmosphere. The chili relleno was ok but very bland. Old school family restaurant that does all the classics and does them right! I literally cannot get enough of their carne asada--it's lean without being dry, perfectly grilled, and always comes out fast, probably because it's getting ordered all day long. Have a burrito, enchilada-style, and you'll be hooked. My girlfriend is a huge weirdo and swears by their white menudo, so she got that and it almost looked appetizing. I might try it if I take the tripe out first! Overall, this is good for dinner and maybe even better for brunch. It's worth a visit to the south side! read more

I don't have a whole lot to say. Micha's is always, consistently good. Friend and went there after spending a few hours at the Gem show. It was a blustery, cold day for Tucson. We were seated immediately and within seconds a large bowl of fresh chips and healthy serving of salsa, and menus were placed on our clean table. The chips were good and the salsa was spicy and peppery; very good. We both ordered soups (cocido for friend, albondigas for me). I forgot to take a picture because I was cold and hungry and dug right in. The albondigas had lots of meatballs, plenty of rice and hot broth. I typically don't finish a whole meal but I did with this large bowl of soup. The cocido had quite a bit of cabbage, more than friend cares for but she said the soup was delicious. You won't be disappointed with Micha's. read more

Micha's is good for breakfast. They have menudo and your traditional Mexican classics. I was not pleased by the service since it took over 10 minutes for someone to come over to our table and take our order. The menudo was delicious but I wish they had "red menudo" which is spicy. It came paired with two breads which are my favorite part because they are toasted with butter. If they add red menudo I'll probably stop by more often. read more

I'm not a regular at Micha's, but I do enjoy their breakfast on occasion. However, today the menudo was sour. I ordered the white menudo and my friend, the red menudo. All hominy- very little tripe. Sour smelling, sour tasting. You'd think the waitress would check on us and ask how the food was, but NOOOO. Our bowls stayed full- not one "how's the food." We had to ask several times for the sugar. It wasn't that busy because the waitress was sitting at the table wrapping silverware. Today was not a pleasant experience. Food here reminds me of Nana's cooking which is a very high complement. Husband had the Huevos Rancheros which had a very generous topping of green chile! So amazing, he is from NM and said he enjoyed it and would order again. I enjoyed a piping hot large Red Menudo which was very fresh and clean. I enjoy the meat and it had a decent amount but I also know for those who aren't into the meat another table ordered theirs without and they happily took it out for them. The table next to us ordered the Cocido and it looked amazing. Will remember to get that. I ordered a side of beans and they are authentic. Dined here with a group of friends after the rodeo. We had made reservations but since we were a larger party we had to wait a little while before being seated. We were disappointed to learn there wasn't a bar area to have a drink at while waiting. Some of the group opted to leave to a nearby establishment to wait it out while having a beverage and came back in the suggested 40 minutes. We were sat in a pretty nondescript side/overflow area. A younger server took our drink orders and they were served super quickly, then she took our food orders. Within about 5 minutes after ordering the food was already making its way to the tables. We were super surprised and impressed (and even a little freaked out) how fast it all came. They must have most things premade and only need to plate them up to serve. I had the low carb special with carne asada and my bf had the green chili plate. Mine was filling with a decent amount of carne asada, lettuce, tomatoes, cheese and guacamole. Nothing too special but I was satisfied with it. The green chili plate looked to be made with ground beef and served with beans, rice and tortillas. He said it had a "pretty good" flavor but was a little greasy. Beans were good but the rice was a little plain. Another older female server who did less work than the other but seemed more in charge brought us or checks. Here lies my complaint with the evening. The checks were hand written and calculated on a typical restaurant pad without any itemization break down other than what looked to be a food total, tax and the gratuity that was added automatically since we were a party of 8+. Our total was $72.08 which seemed high for our two meals, one domestic bottle beer and two sodas. My bf asked the server who gave the check if this was our correct bill since it seemed a little high. She just said yes, and pointed to some abbreviated writing indicating the two meals we had. My partner along with some of the others headed towards the cashier to pay the checks while the rest of us finished up and gathered our things. I asked if he was able to verify the amount with the cashier but he said he hadn't asked because he didn't want to hold up the line. After I got home I looked at the menu photos that were posted within the last two months and it seems we were over charged about $12 or so. (Estimate since there wasn't a photo that included the price of the beer) the overcharge could have easily been a simple error in addition, I don't mean to imply otherwise but with the food just being average I don't anticipate returning anytime soon read more

I reluctantly reluctantly came here with family. It was an important event so we came even though I was hesitant. I've had two very bad experiences here in the past and kind of knew I would have another bad experience. We had horrible service, the wait staff was very rude to us & displayed a nasty attitude towards us when we expressed concerns. The food was horrible and we had to send some of our food back. Even the restrooms were horrific. Then, at the end, we were seriously overcharged. I will never ever return. read more

This is an old gem in the south Tucson area and is a great spot for some authentic Mexican food! Their service is always great and they are always paying attention to make sure you don't run out of anything. Their Covid procedures are very good although they provide plastic utensils in a little plastic bag which may work for some foods but not everything. So that was a bit unfortunate. Additionally their prices seem a little on the high side but not too much. I paid almost $12 for a two chicken enchiladas combination plate which seemed a bit high to me. But the food was delicious. A group of 10 of us went for dinner yesterday. Food was OK, service was excellent. Got there at 5 pm and by 6:15 pm were told the kitchen was closing in 10 min though hours posted were until 8:30 pm, not sure what was going on. Sat in the cute cantina area and were given plastic utensils not metal utensils very odd. Not sure if they are having a problem with staffing or what but it is not at all like it was years ago. There were only about 10 people eating when we arrived at 5 pm. Do hope they make it but will need to improve the quality of their food to their old standards. read more

I haven't been here since the reopening, so I decided to stop in and see how the food was since they reopened. Service was fast and efficient, the standard bowl of chips and salsa was brought quickly, and my order was taken shortly afterwards. The salsa was outstanding, very fresh tasting, and quite a nice little kick, not blow your head off hot, just a nice subtle heat, and loads of flavor. The chips were just average however, clearly store bought, not made fresh in house, but they served their purpose as delivery vessels for that delicious salsa! I went with an old favorite, the Carne Asada Chimichanga, which came out fairly quickly, and was served piping hot! I did notice that it seemed much smaller than I remembered it being, but that turned out to be a good thing, as it was just the right amount of food for lunch. It was hot, fresh and absolutely delicious! The carne asada was well seasoned and plentiful, the outside was flaky and super crispy but not greasy, it was just beyond delicious! Stopped by Micha's for the first time to have some lunch, and here's what we have... Pretty busy day at this restaurant and we were seated within 5 minutes, which was awesome. The restaurant was pretty clean and the staff were welcoming. I ordered a combo plate and my wife ordered a chimichanga, and both were pretty decent. We also ordered a cheese crisp as an appetizer, which was decent as well. I believe from the time we ordered to when we got our food was about 15 minutes, so not bad of a wait. As stated above, the food was decent but way overpriced! For three of us, the bill was about $80. Other than that, if you're in the area, give this restaurant a try, you might like it! One thumb and one big toe up for Micha's Mexican Restaurant. Happy eating, my foodies! read more

I checked reviews after we had gone when my mom recommended it. Very surprised to see the low marks here because we loved it. I had the best ground beef enchiladas ever. In fact it's not easy to find mexican places that offer ground beef as an option, but it was awesome. Ice cold beer and spicy salsa. Wife had veggie salad with the squash. She loved it. Her marguerita was nothing special, but at least it was exactly as expected. Mom had the green chile tostada with shredded beef and said it was wonderfull. Reasonable prices, attentive staff, quick service, and large portions. We came away stuffed and satisfied. We will go again next time we come to town. Now....it's time for my nap. read more

This is a late posting almost 2 month ago, finally catching up on my reviews. My mom and I went here for breakfast one morning, it was that busy but the food felt like it had been sitting in the kitchen fully prepped, which is common is busy Mexican restaurants. You could tell that the plate had been microwaved. It was super hot and the burrito was hot on top and soggy on the bottom. As soon as I picked up the burrito it fell apart and I mean complete demolish. It wasn't as good as I've had from different places and i felt I could've gotten a better one from a fast food joint. I thought it was kinda funny when I asked for a side of cheese and brought be a a bowl of cheese. Kinda odd experience from here, as I've been before and it was always pretty good. read more

Friendly welcome, was not very busy on a Sunday morning. It was clean and service was friendly as well. The menu was pretty basic, lots of "American " type breakfasts which was surprising given it is a Mexican restaurant. We we were given plastic utensils as well which seemed odd.
