Better view of the enchilada combo

Went here for lunch for the first time with regulars. They were happy with their standard orders. I had the No. 6, two shredded beef taco, bean and rice combination plate. Overall the portion size and taste were reasonable. The bean dip was tasty. I asked for their hotter salsa to spice up the plate. Service was pleasant and prompt. There weren't many customers while we were there. The ambiance was pleasant and the establishment clean.

Food was ok. My husband did like his machaca. Service was slow, not very attentive. I'm. It sure I'll come back, we had visited a couple of years ago and it's was good.

I stopped to eat breakfast at the location on west Valencia ---ordered carne Machaca breakfast and asked to delete the rice and provide me with fried potatoes instead (with added charge of $4). The fired potatoes were cold and mushy. The waitress confirmed my suspicion that the potato was boiled and then cut up into huge chunks which were then slightly singed in oil. I am 68 yo and this is the worst "fried potatoes" I have ever had! The machaca had minimal meat and had scant onions amd an abundance of green bell peppers that overwhelmed the taste buds which ruined the machaca flavor. First and last time here at this Taco Giro on west Valencia in Tucson, Arizona. Don't stop and eat here!

Thought we'd stop in for a quick dinner bite. Service was not so great. When we walked in two of the wait staff were discussing something about an order. We were standing 3 feet from them, they never acknowledged our presence. We were finally seated and ordered. Took awhile to get our meal. Server said they had received a large on line order, which was the reason for the delay. Meal was average. We asked for a side of guacamole on our order. It was never given to us. I mentioned to the server to cancel the guacamole after we were almost finished with the meal. He looked us with a stare, then said "my mind just checked out, what did you say". Needless to say, not our best experience.

    18. One Taco de Carne Deshebrada y One Chile Relleno $15 (1/2023)

Came here to have a casual, end-of-holidays, celebratory meal with friends/family on 1/2/2023. The establishment was about 1/3 occupied, yet service was a bit slow at first. Fortunately the complimentary chips/salsa kept us occupied. Once the six of us ordered, the food arrived in a respectable 15 minutes. The carne quesadilla (which came with lots of guac and sour cream) was a hit as were the chicken enchiladas with plenty of clean, shredded chicken. On the other hand, the carne tacos, while meaty, were barely lukewarm. Ditto for the chili rellano (barely lukewarm and disappointingly not batter-crisp on the outside nor was the chili tender on the inside)... overall echoing other reviewers who complained about "cold" entrees. Most of the meals came with Spanish rice and refried beans. The rice appeared fresh and tasted good and the nifty thing about their refried beans is that they are very creamy (not as thick/dense as typical) and have turmeric added (so they appear more orange as well) - an intriguing twist. Decor is nondescript, large booths were very comfortable with padded seating, and parking was ample around all sides of the establishment. Bottomline, at this high-ish price point, and with this many performance hiccups, Taco Giro won't make our Mexican top-ten list this go-around.

Taco salad. Can have ground beef, carne asada, pork, pollo, fish and shrimp

The fil is in town and asked for Mexican. We offered a few options but he remembered Taco Giro from last visit and asked to go again. They have a nice indoor area, plus a great patio. As soon as seated you are brought chips, salsa and bean dip. The servers do a good job of not letting you run low. The menu is huge, with soups, salads, mocajete, seafood, breakfast all day and all your combos and burritos and tacos that are staples. The carne asada is always good, never gristly or dry. The green Chile pork is delicious and moist. The daughter loves their albondigous and tortilla soup, which is always filled with veggies plus the meat. I just realized I almost forgot drinks. They have good beer list and fantastic margaritas. Tonight's special was a peach margarita for $4. That alone is worth going for

It's not going to be the best you ever had in your life, and if you've been to Southern China, you're not going to be blown away. HOWEVER, it is the homemade taste that makes it good. It doesn't feel like any other restaurant, it feels like you are at somebody's house. Here's the thing, I came in expecting the usual Chinese food affair, but I left genuinely surprised and impressed. This restaurants specializes in Southern Chinese food, which is different from other regions. I am so happy this restaurant and its chains helps the cuisine gain exposure and adds depth to Chinese food in general. Even better, the menu is laid out in a way that it is easy to understand: gluten-free options, allergies, and spice level. The service was great. All though it isn't a "full" sit-down restaurant, everybody there seemed to know the menu well and was happy to be there. As a Cantonese person, it was nice hearing my language being spoken in the kitchen. The restaurant itself was immaculately clean and very modern. We came during early dinner time so the parking lot was near empty and easy to park. Overall, if you've never had Southern Chinese food or are looking for something more authentic than classic Chinese takeaway, definitely check out this location. The cherry on top are the big portion sizes and the price.

It's a local staple full of fresh breads, yummy pastries and stacked sandwiches. For me, it felt like Panera but 10x better. I went with Fridas Flight and my husband had Curt's Club. The thing that stood out the most to me was the bread. So fresh and light, you can tell it was made in house. We also got a sticky bun, on a recommendation from the very friendly staff, and this was SO GOOD. Highly recommend heating it up a little bit. I made a mistake of not displaying the card for my order so I just set it flat on the table and poor server had to look for me for a while. It's a good idea to attach it to the napkin holder so the servers can spot them but since my table didn't have one I didn't even think of it. I ordered half a sandwich with apples on the side. When the cashier asked me if I wanted my apple sliced I didn't think that I will be served pre sliced apples that were hanging out in water for a while, so next time perhaps should get a whole apple. I ordered Bart's bag and it was awesome.
