20 minutes to checkout bc they have one kid at the register who could care less. Didn't honor (supposedly incorrect) price on shelf for my item and refused coupon. I'll go to hobby lobby next time. read more

Disgusting bathroom. Both hand drying stations were broken. No way to dry hands. Also, the toilet paper dispenser was broken. There was a wet roll of cheap toilet paper sitting on the back of the toilet. Gross. Also, I was waiting to use the restroom with my toddler as I heard the toilet flush, immediately a male employee opened the door to exit. He clearly did not wash his hands. When we entered, i found urine all over the toilet seat. Double gross. read more

I don't come to this Michaels often, I usually go to the one by my job but since I was on my way home I decided to stop into this one. I was having an issue with an unfriendly checker who basically was making me feel like I didn't know how to read the discount tag. She kept telling me I was wrong and there was no tag at all. Now you all know what the discount tags look like, a piece of paper hanging over the shelves that says "40% off whatever the hell you're buying" So I'm thinking "maybe I just didn't read something right" so I walk back with Esmeralda (who was amazing) and there, in plain sight, a sign that says "40% off" the other checker who shall not be named because she was definitely rude to not just me, but other customers in front of me, didn't try to help solve the confusion at all, she just kept telling me it was ringing up full price and didn't call anyone to check until I asked. But all in all Esmeralda was amazing. She was helpful, went on search mode with me, and was way more personable than the raincloud I dealt with earlier. So the 5 stars are for Esmeralda and her wonderful customer service. Thanks girl! read more

Went back to stock up on their $3.99 bouncy ball kits because my cousin loved them so much. Found out they had a legit dollar section. It's not signed very well, but its on the left side, just before all the knitting stuff. Tons of Disney/Pixar stuff that I haven't seen anywhere else. Fifty bucks later, we've got tons of stuff to do after school! read more

This Michael's is in need of a renovation. Tough to navigate the store, especially due to the clunky shopping carts with tall metal poles that prevent you from pushing your purchases out the door and to your car. The front of the store with numerous clearance bins on the sidewalk makes the shopping center look a little junky, too. read more

I stopped here as a last minute trip, saw it off the freeway. They had a lot of Christmas décor up already, which was great. Usually only Halloween is up in August. Store was clean, service seemed ok, didn't wait more than six minutes at check out. read more

I used to come to this Michaels a lot to get a latch hook kit. A couple months later I found out that they discontinued all the latch hook kits. I was not happy. Then I made a phone call. Michaels in Pasadena carries Latch hook kits, yeah read more

Place is organized pretty nicely but they need to work on their customer service. Their representatives seem a bit unhappy to serve the customers and when you need to find some assistance, there is nobody to be found. read more

Came here to buy a couple items this afternoon for Halloween I found some 50% of items which was great . I always loved this Michael's because everyone seems to be helpful and professional but not today . first off when I walked in it was a complete mess also the floor staff didn't seem so happy to be there I asked her a question about the Halloween items and she was so rude and bothered by my question . then when I headed to the line the lady on the register was literally yelling "next " by the time I headed to the register man I had to say hello and oh man talk about poor hygiene I'm sorry but her breath wow it just was so disturbing she didn't even open her mouth to say hello and it was smelly I believe her name was Kathy yikes her breath was bad on top of her not so great customer service. Tic TAC anyone. read more

Went to Michaels today and found everything I needed and the sweetest sales associate named Alyssa helped me.. thanks again Alyssa...

Very spacious parking in this location, but my only complaints are how pricey everthing is and the long lines. Almost everytime i come here (or any other michael's) i'm waiting in line for 10 minutes or more. Other than that, i wish i had more money so i can go on a shopping spree here. Cute, but pricey stuff. read more

I'm very pleased with Michael's customer service. The staff is always helpful in finding what I need for a project when I'm not even sure myself! The woman who makes the beautiful arrangements shows me her tricks, and what I'd need to reproduce these wreaths, garlands, etc. Their inventory is huge! I especially appreciate how, at checkout, the clerks help me use my multiple online coupons. LOVE Michael's! read more

After waiting in a long line that stretched through the store to reach the only cashier in the place, my credit card account was hacked. Turns out Michaels was aware of a nationwide security breach. Problem is, they didn't bother to tell the customers. If I had known, I would have paid cash. It's been a couple of months, but I have no desire to go back. read more

I have been stopped in about 6 times since my last review. I must say all ladies have been helpful. Big difference from my last review. Cashiers are friendlier and as I browse if an employee walks by they ask if I need help finding something. 5 stars read more

This Michael's location is always disappointing. They have a very limited selection and the store is always a mess. The staff never has a clue as to where anything is or how to use their registers. Things are constantly ringing up incorrectly and again, staff doesn't know what to do. The lines are always long, I've been there many times at various times a day. The only reason I've gone so many times is because it's a block from my workplace. I'm finally done with the headache of going here. read more

This store is the absolute worst when it comes to customer service!!! I called for an item at 8:40pm. The girl I spoke with didn't give me her name and put me on HOLD for 50 MINUTES!! Employees should be required to answer the phone saying their name so I know who is directly responsible for this horrible customer service. And who should be fired as a result. I had to call back on my other phone line just in case this idiot girl remembered I was on the other line to answer (which she never did). When I called back a different lady picked up only to argue with me that they're clocking out and leaving because the store closed. She spent more time telling me they're closed than it took for her to actually do her job and look up the SKU number and tell me they didn't have it. She also didn't even want to check another store for me when they have access to other stores inventories. I asked her if she saw the other phone line blinking and she didn't want to answer. I was like "yeah that's me and I've been on hold for 50 min so you're gonna help me now". Seriously, do they not see that the other phone line is blinking?! I know she did and that's why she didn't answer me. I don't see how it's appropriate to leave someone on hold for almost an hour and none of the other employees would even see the line blinking on hold for that long and not bother to even pick up and ask if I still needed help. I called with ample time (20 min) remaining before the store closed at 9pm. It should've taken 10 seconds to tell me whether they had an item or not, like the second lady did. They can look it up! I shouldn't have had to call a second time because some dumb useless forgetful girl can't do her job. This store needs a management and staff re-haul! If I could give this store negative stars, I would. First girl was straight out waste of my life and time. As you can tell I'm a patient person waiting that long on imbeciles. And second woman was just absolutely rude and hostile. And the rest of the employees are absolute do-nothing's who are useless as well since no one can seem to pick-up a blinking hold line before trying to close the store. Forget this store!! AVOID AVOID!!! read more

I give this Michael's 5 stars because of April in the glass and picture frames department. She is just Awesome!

I came to this Michaels to have a print framed. I loved the print and the frame. And then I was excited that I was told that it would be done in 24 hours. So I came back about 29 hours later and it wasn't done. The man who worked at the framing desk avoided responsibility by telling me that he didn't work the day before so it wasn't his fault. I felt put out. I had already paid for it. What could I do? I was told that I would be called when it was ready. That call did not come. I called them 72 hours later and was told that it was ready. When I asked why I hadn't been called, I was told that it was done the night before when it was too late to call. No mention of why I wasn't called the next day. When I first went to Michaels, I was annoyed that I had forgotten to bring a pile of other things that I wanted to frame with me. But after this experience, I was happy that I hadn't given them my business for the other things I need to get framed. I will look elsewhere. I have no problem waiting more than a day for something like this. What I do have a problem with is when someone says it will be done at a certain time and it is not. And not having it done wasted me a trip to Michaels (which, let's face it, is not the most pleasant place to walk through). To be fair, the framing looks good. But I wouldn't give them my business again because I cannot trust them at their word. read more

This store has the worst customer service. Today I tried to call them to ask a simple question. The first time I was placed on hold for over 5 minutes. I hung up and called them back 10 times. The phone rang and I was immediately hung up on. No thank you, I will shop somewhere else. Good thing I wasn't a VIP from management. read more

If I could put negative stars on this, I would. Not once, but twice, in the past month coworkers and I have arranged our work schedules and purchased supplies for classes offered at this location. The first time we signed up online, came in for the class, and were told the instructor didn't come in that day. That day we registered for a different class offered today (2weeks later) with a manager and left our phone numbers and names with them. Fearing being flaked on again we called to make sure class was still happening tonight and at first we're told yes, then when the associate went to double check it turned out that they would not be offering the class. The associate then promptly blamed the instructor and said class size wasn't big enough, which is fine but a call would have been nice to let us know not to come. Not to mention all the wasted money we have spent on supplies for these classes. Very poorly managed staff with no customer service skills. read more

The only reason this is 1 star is because I couldn't give 0 Horrible!!!!!! I went in to get candle making supplies. The shelf was empty where the tags for the paraffin wax was so I went to the checkout counter to see if they had any in back or could locate it at another store. I was the 3rd person in line and there were 4 employees pacing around the check out area doing nothing except for the one guy who was on the phone. Eventually he finished and started helping customers. One of the pacers opened a register at my turn so I started to ask she said I needed to have the UPC code. So, everything goes back in my basket and I walk all the back the farthest corner of the store to start writing down the codes. 1 down and 1/2 way through the 2nd one she comes walking up saying she left her register to help me and has the gun to scan the codes. The gun doesn't work, so she grabs my paper out of my hand and wants to use MY PEN!!!!! When I objected she walked away and told somebody else to help. At least this guy's gun worked. He said they had 10 on order, but he couldn't figure out how to check another store. So he goes up front to call. I decided to get in line to pay for the items I had. He finally comes over and says they were really busy and had him on hold for a long time/ he couldn't get ahold of them. I'm not sure which one it really was, if either. I said every other company in the world can check another store on there computer. The check out guy said we can do that. Unfortunately, none of the 4 people there could figure out how. As I was walking out I said can you at least give me the phone # to the store so I can call before I drive all the way over there. The clincher to this is- I called Pasadena. A very friendly girl answered right away. I asked if they had paraffin in stock. She right away said Oh yes, we carry that. I said is it in stock? Puts me on hold, comes back after not too long, and says it's all been discontinued. read more

Knowing that I was going to buy a couple of things from Michaels later today I signed up for received coupons and to Welcome you they give you a 20% off coupon on your entire purchase/including sales items however when I came to pay for my purchase they scanned the bar code and the coupon did not work. Above the coupon stated Valid: 04/14/15 through 04/27/15. Cashier has never seen this coupon before and did not think it was real. She contacted the Manager over head set and Manager did not know of any coupon for 20%. Nor did the Manager come to the front of the store to view the coupon. Cashier told me that she could not enter the bar code in register she can only scan. So we ended up having to pay full price. Not sure if what I signed up for was Michaels real website or might have been something else. Could you please clarify? Or did I make a bad mistake to coming to Michaels to buy some crafts. read more

Every time I come here the line is 15 deep! Never enough checkers. Unfortunately, this is the only location that is close to my house.

The framing department is less than professional. I was called to pick up an order two days ago. I go to pickup the item today. The clerk opened the order only to discover that the item (glass) was dirty, the item was not placed in the frame correctly, corners were not placed as instructed and the clerk was very rude - saying she didn't do it and what did I expect her to do about it - a total lack of any customer service skills what so ever. What is more disturbing is that the "managers" customer service skills were no better. If you are considering any picture or special framing - do not go to Michael's in Monrovia - I recommend finding a Mom & Pop picture framing shop and paying alittle more. You'll be happier in the long run. read more

Frances you are the reason I will think twice before shopping at the Michael's store in Monrovia!! Worst customer service ever. I actually waited in the check out line just to ask if there was someone who could help me and the rude cashier, named Frances, not only couldn't answer my question re yarn, she told me nobody in the store knew anything about yarn. I do not do crochet or needlepoint. I was buying yarn for a classmate with cancer. All I needed to know was how many packages are required to make a hat. She shooed me away. I did not go. I asked to speak with the manager and she told me she was on the other line. Then proceeded to wave the next person in line for her to check out. She said to them "Can I help you?" To which I responded, "I thought you were helping me?" First time in my life I have ever abandoned my basket with items and walked out of a store. Thinking back, I should have continued shopping, filling my basket to the top, and then abandoned it and walked out. read more

We get the flyer for michaels in the mail and they offer classes to learn to make different things, and sometimes they offer classes for kids. Like last summer during summer break they offered a lotof cute little crafts to make for like a week. This time it was for Valentines day. Sat Feb 13th if you purchased a wood frame for $1.00 they let kids paint it there (they suplied paint, brush Ect. After my daughter took out her little wallet and paid for her frame I walked around so she could paint it for Valentines day. I tried not to go too far and watched her out of the corner of my eye the whole time without looking at her gift for me. The lady helping her was very nice and was helping 3-4 other little girls with their master pieces too. She did a great job. My daughter loved all the attention and was made to feel very special there." Thank you" Michaels my daughter loved it and I loved my beautiful frame she gave me for Valentines day! The only reason I gave them a 4 is because of only 1 cashier open and they were very busy! But maybe they were short staffed.Great prices on all kinds of kid friendly crafts and also stuff for mommy too. Love when the coupon comes out in the sunday paper for 40 percent off 1 item.Have fun crafting! read more
