Credit where credit is due! This review is for Steven in the framing department. Went in with a rather complex framing job for two written pieces I was framing and matting in one frame. For something like this the spacing and cut outs have to be super precise and right on the money. Steven was an absolute pro and helped me pick the perfect matting as well for my project. He's very meticulous and you can tell he loves his job and wants you to be thrilled with the result. He's a real asset to Michaels and I hope they get him some help back there because it seems very busy and he's basically a one-man show. 5 stars all the way! read more

I had a bad experience in here in December 2025. I went in here & of course they were having a sale on a lot of their items. It was hard to tell the prices on some items that I came across that I was interested in so I used the Michael's app to scan for a price. The items that I had found had a great sale price so I put them in my cart. When I went to go to self checkout the prices were not ringing up for the same amount on the app. I didn't see on the app "on-line price only." I didn't have many items. They had 2 cashiers working & a little bit of a line had formed behind me. Not good to be under staffed during a holiday shopping mth. I was able to ask a cashier behind me about this price discrepancy as I explained it was a different price then when I scanned the items on-line. She had told me "those are on-line prices" I told her I thought this was ridiculous, that I'm in the store already so in order to get these prices I need to order them thru the app & come back to pick them up? Can't I have them for the price listed since I'm here already? She told me I could speak to the manager about it but she was busy with a customer who wanted to buy a Christmas tree on the floor since it was the last one. I had come in here after working all night & needed to get home to get to bed. I didn't feel like waiting so I didn't buy these items & set them aside. I did buy a couple of other items that weren't on sale. A few days later I purchased the items I left behind on the app & did a pickup where I parked in a number parking spot & an employee brought it out to my car. I didn't have to wait too long for the lady to bring it out but honestly this is stupid. A customer will still spend money whether they're going to purchase on-line or go into the store. This cute Christmas platter I got had some flaws in it so I had to go back into the store praying that they still had one & one that didn't have any flaws & do an exchange. I got lucky! But it stinks that I couldn't have picked the item out myself while in store & get the cheaper price. Dumb! I feel like Michael's has jacked up their prices too. I haven't been in a Michael's in a while but shopping nearby and went in. It wasn't very busy and they still had some Christmas markdowns. I was amazed how organized everything was. Every aisle was in order and the store is just so visually appealing; it always makes me want to craft more than I do! I got done fun ideas for future crafting. I found a couple of sale items and some pretty ribbon I wanted. I did think it was interesting that a ran into a couple employees as I browsed, but not one person said hello or even made an attempt to acknowledge me. Luckily I didn't need any assistance since no one seemed real friendly. I went to pay and no one was in that area but it's self service kiosks so scanned in my Michael's rewards number and paid. I was so excited to stop by tonight and grab some Easter crafts for my colleagues to do together. I walked in around 8:40PM. Upon stepping through the first door this employee popped in front of me and yelled "We close in 10 min!" ... obviously that is not the most welcoming way to greet a guest. She didn't say anything else and I was also startled by how she popped out of no where and the rude approach. I tried to stay in good spirits and ignore her. I knew exactly what I was going to grab and the craft was actually right next to cashier when you walk in to the right. So it would take me 1 min total. I grabbed what I needed and went to the register. As soon as I got to the register the same lady that rudely approached me screamed over the microphone how they close soon and registers will not allow anyone to check out, that the store is closing, everyone needs to leave and if they don't make it to the cash register they will need to leave and grab their items tomorrow." Not even a minute had passed and she comes to stand right next to me in the cash register and yells the same message again. Obviously trying to provoke me and make me move faster to leave. I looked at the clock and it was 8:51. The store closed at 9pm and I was already at the cash register just pulling up my Michael's app to grab a coupon.. it was beyond rude and uncalled for. Then I hear another worker closer to the exit door scream over to the employee yelling in the microphone stating how a customer is still in the store.. the yelling employee stated "just glare at them" I typically hate leaving negative reviews but it really ruined my whole night. I started off my night excited with this idea, but to be basically glared and yelled at since entering the store because the workers were upset customers were still in the store before their 9pm closing time put such a sour taste in my mouth. What happened to the store! Stopped by there yesterday to get some vinyl for T-shirt Printing. The young boy that was working there could not answer any of my questions. The worst part was the floors were dirty. Most of the products on the racks were messed up. And packages needing to be unpacked, sitting all over the floor to what you had to step over them to get to the next row. read more

On another note, Michael's recently installed self-check out kiosk machines in the store. This is much needed and a welcomed sight to shoppers and those pressed for time. With that, introducing anything new comes with a learning curve and these kiosks are no exception. However, fortunate for customers, Michelle (manager), was there to assist. She was friendly very personable and understood the importance of good customer service. She made my first experience with the kiosk a painless and easy transaction. read more

I can't believe I visited this store twice in one day! So, Similar to many other Michael's locations I e visited- this store is somewhat clean and organized. It's nice that the location of items is also pretty much the same for all stores. With that said, the big difference between the stores is of course, their workers. I would say it's hit or miss with the workers here. Since I visited at different times of the day, I can speak to the difference of workers today. So when I came in around noon, the three registers that were open, were backed uppppp. The guy who helped me didn't really greet me nor did he really smile. For my second visit, the young lady who closed me out was smiling and asked about my visit today. She actually provided pleasant customer service. All in all, Michael's is a great store for you crafters out there! I always forget, but they also have a ton of home decor items- all of which is usually 40% off on a regular basis. read more

This review is for the custom framing department... Love, love, love them. The first time I went to them was for our wedding photos 2 years ago, then I went back after buying tiki art for the hubby as a grateful gift. First time was great with the rep pointing out which frames would suit our theme/tastes, and were on sale. This past July with 70% off most of their inventory, I was like "SCORE!" I spent between $250-$300 (lost my receipt) for 2 custom frames. Payment's also due at the time of consultation, so I wasn't about to lose the opportunity of the sale. I wouldn't recommend going to their website and trying to make an appointment for the framing department. The department is only staffed from like 10am-4pm (see sign posted around their payment pads). Even then, the staff doesn't like making those that waited just to pickup previous orders waiting to create new orders. I wouldn't go if I'm in a rush either 'cause my consultation lasted about 15 minutes, and the customer before me that wanted hers redone lasted about 20 minutes. Line already forms way before they're staffed. That's not to say I don't appreciate the more personalized interaction! I totally liked Tori's recommendation for the framing, their timeline for completion, and her friendly demeanor towards all of us there. Tori actually gave me the call when my frames were done, on the scheduled day, but Heather helped me the following day. Heather was just as friendly, making sure I was happy with how the frames turned out. It's also really nice seeing them being gentle with the products - reassures me that they take the quality of their work seriously. The thing my husband liked most about the frames was the pouch on the back for the certificate of authenticity. Custom framing definitely a special occasion splurge, but it's worth it. read more

I guess one losses cool points when one reviews a Michaels but what the hell. This Michaels rocks. I'll start off by giving a shout out to The Shield (aka Rob, the store manager). Any question I asked - ANSWERED. Need help to find a item - LEADS YOU RIGHT TO THE PLACE. Need a fist bump, FIST BUMP GIVEN. I know it's hard to be cool at a place like Michaels but this dude has the easy going nature of Dean Martin combined with a command of a store not seen since Mr Cunningham was running his hardware store in Milwaukee. Now, can one find anyone cooler than Gio who works in the frame shop? Like seriously.......this is the coolest under 25 I ever met in my life. I did like half a dozen plus a few extra frames with her. Her taste is impeccable. Each piece came out fantastic and I could not be happier. Not only does she ooze a coolness not seen since Greta Garbo she is a really really really nice gal. In summation Rob should be the future VP of operations and Gio should be his assistant. I'm not a very artsy or craftsy person. If I was, I would definitely come here to find what I need. They have a wide assortment of everything to fulfill every hobby. From knitting to paint it yourself birdhouses, they have it all!!! They also have a variety of holiday decorations and home decor. Tip: make sure you buy holiday stuff after that holiday is over. Things are 70% off!!! I've come here numerous times on a mission to find certain things and have always been able to find what I need. Only reason why I docked a star is due to the lack of assistance from the sales associates. It's always hard to find someone. Or if you do end up finding someone, they aren't very helpful. My bf asked this one girl how much a certain frame was and she said she didn't know because she didn't have a scanner on her. Um, walk it over to a register and check, it's your job. Good store for the most part. The staff is nice and very helpful. The problem is checkout. You buy one item and suddenly you're asked to fill out a survey code. And then you get the miles of wasted paper in the form of the receipt roll. I don't want to go online and enter promo codes or become a member of their secret society, or even apply for a job (also on the receipt scroll). The best option for savings is not to buy anything at all. It's like the Hollywood celeb who was bragging about her "Green home, so environmentally friendly!" Then asked if she owned any other homes and how she arrived at Oscars the actress sheepishly confessed "Well, six I think. And I flew here on my Gulfstream jet, which has a house of its own. But don't judge me. Just vote for who I think you should vote for next election, and see my movie. This interview is over!" The employees are always helpful if you ever need assistance. Many of them have the aisle contents memorized for a quick answer. However, I am assuming this is due to covid, they are out of stock of many items. You will notice walking through the store that many of the aisles are nearly empty with things out of stock. If you are looking for something specific, chances are it won't be there. But it's a nice place to go for general craft supplies. It's always clean and they follow covid protocol requiring masks for all customers. read more

This location of micheals is clean, and typically has a full stock of items I regularly need for crafts. I enjoy coming here unfortunately Today I was rang up by a brown haired Caucasian woman, description between age 24-30. I'm not sure if she was having a bad day or what her problem was but she absolutely had an attitude. I wasn't able to get her name because her name tag was sideways. I greeted her as she rang up my items and she flat out ignored me. Then handed my recipient in a snooty voice and said "there you go." Like not even a thank you for coming in? Not sure if she was racist. But that made my visit unpleasant. Everyone else working today was cheerful and helpful. This review is based solely on her attitude and she was working on the right register during a 3pm shift on 3/11/22. Giving this 5 stars purely because Simon in the framing department is the best! I've never gotten anything framed and honestly was a bit intimated by framing in general. I decided to go to Michaels because they were doing a big sale and I'm so glad I did because I had the pleasure of working with Simon. He was super helpful and listened to exactly what I wanted while also giving me really helpful advice. We worked together to find the best frame. What's super cool is the technology Michaels has let me see my painting with each frame I was interested in so I could have a clear idea of what it would look like. I ended up getting the painting back earlier than expected and I'm sooo happy with how it turned out. Highly recommend working with Michaels for custom framing and if you can work with Simon you won't be disappointed! read more

Even if I am coming here for one specific thing I always, without fail end up walking up and down every isle finding new exciting goodies that I probably don't need but end up buying anyways! For someone like me who has a plethora of crafting hobbies Michaels is really a gem! I came in 30 minutes before they were closing looking for a frame that was out of stock at 3 Targets. The young lady in the custom framing area was working on something, but was more than helpful in helping me find the frames I was looking for. She was so helpful and was not bothered by my lack of knowledge of frames. I didn't get her name, but will be back for future craft ideas and goodies. This Michaels is filled with your craft-y needs. It is filled to the brim. However, the new checkout is crazy.... It has a lot of potential. It's set up with the register telling you to "proceed to register six" But it's the line part that is ridicolous. It's shaped in a maze, that is really difficult to manuever with a cart. read more

NEVER do curb side pick up for this Michaels. I waited 15 minutes and no one came out with my item. I had to go in and line up and ask the cashier. Eventually they told me where to go and the lady just pulled out her tablet and marked me as picked up. No apologies, nothing. My item was sitting in that locker all this time. I could have walked in and lined up instead. Customer service sucks. Either train your employees to better handle orders during the pandemic or get better employees. read more

MOST RUDE & DISRESPECTFUL ADULT I HAVE EVER ENCOUNTERED AT MICHAELS ON EASTERN & W. HORIZON RIDGE in HENDERSON, NV. !!!! Came in on 07/10/22 between 6:30pm - 7:02pm. My mom & I came to this location for the first time to pick up craft supplies. We were aware of the various announcements that were made that the store was closing, so we picked up what we needed and got in line right away. Before she was finished with her transaction before us, CANDANCE (please note this name for all reading as I have never met a grown adult this disrespectful and rude in my life.) did not want to ring up our purchase claiming "we are CLOSED! It is 7:00 o'clock." It was 6:57pm. We were already walking up to her register, but the second we got there she said, "I can't take your purchase. It is 7 o'clock. But I guess I could try" (with attitude I may add) The time was 6:58pm. As I did not know what that meant, I asked, "So what happens if we are in the middle of the transaction?" Without missing a beat, she exclaimed, "You come back tomorrow!!!!" As she was ringing us up, (which was all going through, I may add) she kept exclaiming and commenting to us through the whole transaction, "I don't know, I can try." "It won't go through." "We are closed." and various other rude exclamations, as she was refusing to ring us up. She also put the blame on us for not being done and out of the store by 7:00 o'clock, even though we were waiting in line way before 6:50pm. I should also mention they still were letting people into the store minutes prior to 7:00 and there were still customers in line after us. She did not make an announcement that she could not take anymore purchases to those customers either. Tired of all of the blame and rude comments, my mom said, "We don't want to argue, we would just like to finish our transaction." Our transaction went through perfectly. She handed us our receipt and walked away exclaiming, "I don't care, I'm off the clock!!" She did not even put any of our items in bags or hand us our stuff at all. She also exclaimed to my mom while walking away, "I would like to know where you work so I can stay there after hours!" We talked to the store manager at the front of the door, and she was no more help than Candance. The store manager actually negated all of the claims Candance said to us, saying "no we are still able to take transactions after 7:00 o'clock" etc. Very unprofessional and completely unacceptable for the two in this interaction. Absolutely, NO CUSTOMER SERVICE AT THIS LOCATION and clearly we will never go back. read more

Of course I have to go to Michael's a few times a year, but the overpriced selection from floral to baking to scrapbooking to beading makes me irritated. I try to avoid going there, opting for a specialty store or Amazon if possible, and if I have to, will try to find a couple coupons online before going in. I did take a cake decorating class there last year when we moved to NV, it was actually pretty good, the woman teaching it was very sweet and knowledgable.
