There are tons of art supplies here, ranging from acrylic/oil paints, pencils, markers, etc. Everything for the casual to amateur to professional artists. But what I came here for was the Cyanotype art kit. With a trip to Mt. Charleston for comet-hunting coming up, I wanted to grab nature pieces like leaves and create Cyanotype art. Fortunately, they had Cyanotype fabric sheets, print papers, and other materials to get the exposure right. Also, look out for sales. I've seen a lot go for as high as 50% off. read more

I went on Facebook asking the 9th Island connection group if there was a Fisher Hawaii type place here in Vegas and someone suggested Blick. So for those of you who don't know what a Fisher Hawaii is... it's a huge warehouse with tons of paper/art/school supplies at a decent to even low prices. So I needed some sharpies and couldn't wait for Amazon to deliver. I also wanted to pick the colors I wanted and the quality needed. So I was super excited when Blick had what I needed. Omgosh they had so many colors! I love color pencils and they had it all! I wanted to bring the whole selection home with me. The store was nice and bright, also very clean and organized. The workers were friendly and didn't hover so that was nice. The cashier explained to me their rewards card and I signed up. At the register they have some candies and I saw the sour Razzles and had to grab one. Omgosh, that's childhood memories right there in fruity form. Never had the sour ones so I was happy to try them out. I am very happy I found this place and it wasn't very far from my apartment. I'll be back for more of my marker needs in the future. read more

my sister is an art major and used to attend the csn campus across the street and needed some new supplies for some pieces she has coming up. Since Christmas is around the corner I decided to take her on a little shopping spree because this is her go to place! This was my first time here and they also allow pets!!! So I was happy I could bring my baby with me. The employees were so sweet and even though my little dog was getting a little upset they didn't kick me out hahaha. They had sooo many art supplies here (professional) that you cannot find anywhere else in the valley. I really wish they had more locations because I would come here more often! I love the store, the product and the have some good sales. All of the people working there have been very nice with the exception of the Assistant Manager, every time I have been in the store I have overheard her being rude to customers, raising her voice, she was rude to me and my Granddaughter on two different occasions, and stated she was happy she was off the next day because she just worked seven days in a row. Very unprofessional! I'm giving them 5 stars because everyone else has always been very nice and helpful! read more

It's hard not to be a fan of Blick- they have nearly every conceivable art supply, from preschool paint kits (left wall) to professional-quality easels and design desks (back wall), and almost everything in between. The sheer number of oil paint, acrylic paint, and watercolor options is almost overwhelming. Favorite items here are Modpodge (available for a price comparable to what I've found online) and various gift items (journals, make your own doll kits, various books). I would love to see them add to their scrapbooking section, but other than that, the only item I had difficulty locating was glitter. Service was cheerful and upbeat, but the store is organized in such a way that you don't typically need assistance. Bonus points for the community art project outside during Grand Opening week! read more

My wife, a local Las Vegas artist, has been shopping at Blick since it was called "Dick Blick" and had about three locations in town. She goes here because they have quality products. I go here because the prices are good and the staff knows what they're talking about. I recently stopped by to pick up some oil pastels. She's the artist. She didn't tell me a brand. I looked on the Internet for the top brands of oil pastels. Blick had them all. And.. they were reasonably priced, comparable if not less than most every Internet company. I also had to pick up some indigo-colored acrylic paint. I couldn't find it where I was looking (my wife prefers the store brand "Blickcrylic" paints). Again, the Internet told me indigo was something close to ultramarine color, which they had, but I wasn't sure. I asked the wonderfully helpful cashier, "Pat" I want to say, and they not only showed me indigo-colored paint, but advised me how "phthalo" was a closer shade of blue. I never even HEARD of that color before! Heck, I'd never heard the WORD before. Took the paint home and my wife absolutely LOVED it! She remarked back and forth how the white tube of indigo paint was some of the richest, vibrant she'd ever seen. (win for me! Thank you!) We also love their canvas, especially when it's on sale. The regular price is fine, much lower than Michael's, but when it's on sale, oh my goodness! You just can't beat it! When you enter the store, you're not quite overwhelmed, but you should be impressed with all the colors, all the aisles, filled with art supplies of all kinds. Papers, brushes, pencils, airbrushes, even tables and chairs. Blick doesn't seem like a big store, but they certainly seem to have everything an artist needs. Even if they don't, their online presence is even MORE vast and items can arrive in just a couple days. All at reasonable prices! I much prefer shopping here than Michael's. That craft store has sales all the time because their prices are so much higher than Blick's. I briefly mentioned the staff, but I need to speak more about them because it's not just one person. Everyone working here seems to be an artist. Some paint, some draw. Some sculpt, some airbrush, but they all have knowledge in their products. It's kind of like going to Home Depot. The employees there all seem to have some knowledge of the different building materials, construction, repairs, etc. Blick is a wonderful experience! read more

Let me premise this all by saying I am clueless with art and art supplies. My friend has a dormant passion for art and used to paint. They haven't been able to paint in years so for their upcoming birthday I decided to encourage them with some items from Blick I went in and very sheepishly asked Ms Montana if she could "hold my hand and walk me through it like a 5 year old". She had such a great attitude and customer service. She was easily able to interpret was I was asking and recommend appropriate items to fulfill my vision. Montana absolutely put me at ease and made it simple! Thank you so much! I can't really speak for price point because again, I'm clueless, but a standing easel, 10 colors of acrylic paint and brush set and a 6 pack of canvas cost about 110. They even do military discount. Ok , I came in because "BLICK" brand paint withstood the Las Vegas Summer heat in my garage while the "BASICS ACRYLIC" turned into one large glob that I'm sure with a little water would come back to life. I was just so impressed with the "just like new "vibrant and pigment, I had to check out the store. However, I will say that the older gentleman who has beard , acted very pretentious and snobby with my questions about what was on sale, and almost shooed me aside so he could come look what I was asking even though the question was very clear, as it was Christmas , the entire store was on sale and I was just asking if the price on the displays were the amount off or the amount of the item. It was almost like he was making a show of not answering me , until he walked around the counter and then 10 feet to where I was standing, just to shoo me aside AND behind him to look at the tag that is identical To every other sale tag and me being the only one in the store, besides his 2 coworkers, he easily could have just said it's the price of not the dollar amount off. The next question I had was 7-8 minutes into my browse of this store, I was in blick paint isle looking for sets instead of buying each color individually. So I went up to the counter, and told him the story of why I love Blick with it withstanding the summer heat(trying to compliment the brand), and asked if he had any sets available. This time he walks me back to the isle I was in and said "here are all our paints " and starting walking away and I asked"so no sets of colors sold as a box set"? He said "no-o" And I said "ok" and as I stood there, and different employee who had also been helping me as I browsed, walked up and lo and behold, box sets were right there. I had missed them. Why would the older gentleman with silver hair and beard , brush me off like that? So , it made me feel a certain way, I ended up leaving after buying $120 in supplies. I wonder if he's the owner and if not would they appreciate such a snobby employee to persons who are just starting their painting journey?! Prices were decent, as a hobby store, it's not. It's mainly paint. I did not know that , I do mosaics , I really wanted crafts for my mosaic projects, and was planning to pick up a blick paint set while there, so , it's various paints, brushes and canvases. I think reasonably priced but I don't purchase enough painting supplies to give a fair assessment. This was more in the way I was feeling during and after l shopped there. read more

I know everyone is doing the best they can, and I appreciate and respect that...however this place was very disappointing. They have great prices online, but if you venture out to their shop, you will NOT be able to access those prices! Also, they are very particular about masks and won't let you in if you don't have the "right" mask on. It must be cloth. So some of you might want to go here just because of that, and some of you might avoid this place for this reason. And isn't that what makes our country great, the freedom to choose? Just know, you can't have the prices they advertise online in the shop! Feels kinda bait and switch like to me. All that said, the staff is polite and offered me one of their cloth masks since they found my plastic "shield" as they called it unacceptable. I use to go to Blick all the time when it was located on Decatur in what was once the "Learning is Fun" building. I liked it then. I still like it, but it seems different. I do like the vast range of art supplies and brands of the supplies. I especially like their decorative paper which I mostly took pictures of when I checked in. It isn't the place where I would take care of my canvas needs (too expensive) but I would get my bristol board here. I also buy sumi ink here and a lot of my professional grade acrylics. I have never had a problem with anything I have purchased here. Sign up for their rewards program and don't forget if you can't find it in the store then look online for it. read more

Every single time I come to Blicks this lady Cat who claims to be the assistant manager has the biggest attitude towards customers. The first incident I had with her was around Christmas time. I came in and bought a few items she asked if I wanted to donate and I told her I didn't have the extra money at the time and she had the biggest attitude and was like it's just a $3 toy for the kids and since I didn't have it she said next time make sure you bring $3 next time you come in. Who tf does she think she is trying to force me to buy a toy to donate if I don't want to donate I don't have to. This next time I came in I had a 100$ bill trying to pay and as soon as I pulled out my money she said nope I don't have change for that, understandable, but she didn't attempt to check another register or anything just said no so Blicks lost out on a sale because she failed to manage the store. I don't have anything against as she seems to just hate her life but don't spew your troublesome life to other people and make everyone else feel bad. She's unprofessional to even be considered an assistant manager. Looks like I'm taking my constant business elsewhere. Friendly staff! My girlfriend and I visited Las Vegas and she needed art supplies for an upcoming school project. This location is about 10-12 min off the strip, about a $15 uber ride. Plenty of parking but also located in a big shopping center. She knew what she needed and while I roaming around the store, I noticed all supplies were neat and organized. I love this place. They have art supplies you cannot find at the box stores. The biggest plus is the people who work there. They are all artists and are interested in your art. I have picked up several hints from them to help me with my art. They also price match everything you buy and have no problem matching better prices. How great is that?
