I popped in here for the free Kohl's Cash event and while I only scored a free $5, I still found a couple things to spend it on (and then some). Staff on both floors were friendly, and there were deals to be had. But it was odd to see large chunks of the salesfloor devoid of any merchandise. With the clearance racks unorganized and crammed full, why you wouldn't spread things out more to make it easier to look at the racks and use up the empty space is beyond me.

When I first noticed him, I legit thought that I was looking at a mannequin. Upon further viewing, I realized it was actually a human being/employee wearing typical civilian clothes. I don't know what his job title is, but he just stood there quietly. When we reached the front register, there was an employee with the phone to his ear, but we never heard him utter a word as we stood there for what felt like 1 to 2 extremely long minutes. Once I realized he wasn't going to acknowledge us. I asked him "who do I speak to for assistance". He then said he would help when he finishes up, because he's currently on the phone with a customer. In which I replied OK, I just needed to know who to speak to, because I don't know what's going on here. Right after telling him that a third employee came from the back of the store and immediately assisted us. After we complete our transaction, that same (on the phone) employee did tell me and the rest of my party to have a great day as if to make up for the lack of customer service we received upon our arrival. Some might consider it to be too little too late, but I can somewhat appreciate the gesture, so I replied "likewise"... Better late than never, I guess. As far as the store goes everything was neatly organized, and fully stocked with an extensive inventory to choose from. After this visit, I decided to download the app so I can accumulate points. We arrived before opening and were waiting outside at 9:57 AM. At around 10:03 AM, an employee wearing a black tank top with long hair came to open the door. She walked slowly toward the entrance, and when she opened it, she did not greet us, smile, or even acknowledge us. She appeared irritated and was yawning. I understand that everyone can have a difficult morning, but a simple "Good morning" would have made a difference. While we were shopping, my son said hi to another employee, who was very kind and greeted him back. When my son said hi to the employee who had opened the door, however, she did not respond or smile at him. Later, my son accidentally peed on the floor. The employee informed me, and I immediately apologized. She then walked away. When I saw the accident, I asked if I could have a mop so I could clean it myself, but she told me it was okay and that they could take care of it. I appreciated that, but her overall attitude throughout our visit made me feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. I love Aerie, and this location has always been my favorite. I understand that employees have bad days, but customers should still be treated with basic courtesy and kindness. Even a simple greeting or smile can make a big difference, especially when shopping with children. I hope this concern will be taken seriously and addressed appropriately. And the answer is...slightly. The store is definitely in better shape and much more organized. But while the ones in Wisconsin were cluttered and ramshackle, this location is sparse, with some shelves nearly empty. Also disappointing was that some marked down merchandise such as tumblers were clearly defective and should have been disposed of instead of marked down. All that being said, I did get a great deal on a paper towel holder (despite HomeGoods having zero such items at their location) and a cup for my mom. I'm not likely to run out and stop here again but if I was in the area with time to kill, I might consider it.

A young employee greeted us, and when we explained what we were looking for, he went to get a coworker. He then proceeded to tell his coworker that he was already clocked out. The employee who ended up helping us clearly seemed inexperienced, while there were two other gentlemen working there who appeared to have much more experience but did not step in to assist. On top of that, we overheard them having a conversation about butt plugs, which was extremely unprofessional and inappropriate to be discussing in front of customers. I have previously worked in both a bridal store and a tuxedo store, so I understand how these businesses should operate and the level of customer service expected. Unfortunately, this experience was beyond disappointing and very unprofessional. We definitely will not be returning.
