I visited Michael's today, I was greeted with a friendly hello. The store was large and festive. Michaels was clean and very organized. Themed items were neatly arranged and on display. I recommend checking out Michael's for specialty items and decor. Plenty of parking spaces.

This is where you search for your order. Note it may not even be there. Ring the bell and wait. And wait.

You order online for pickup and you get a message it is ready. You go in an there is no organization. Check out the photos. You ring the bell people walk by you and don't offer to help. Then you get someone who doesn't listen to how you spell your name and repeat back letters you didn't say. I complained and she gave me a snotty look and said she was I was waiting for the computer to catch up like I would magically know. I would like to patronize Micheal's but the lack of organization and customer service is just frustration.

I had excellent customer service from two associates today!

Curbside pickup service is always quick and easy. Michael's usually has what I need and their sales are always a great deal.

After my experience at the Hawthorne location with Alfredo in the framing department, I won't go to another Michaels!!!

This location is in Lawndale serving the South Bay Beach Cities of Redondo Beach, Manhattan Beach and Torrance. The owner and staff I say are very welcoming as you enter and gracious as you shop and appreciative as you leave. They have a very family friendly attitude and show kindness towards kids / children. The pricing is convenient and good, especially for non-investor reseller collector types who just enjoy lego. They have a lot of pre-built Legos that might be missing the mini-figures but sell for a fraction of the FMV (Fair Market Value) making them intriguing deals for the base sets that are often retired and hard to find. The selection is good, and because it deals in collectibles and often retired and used Legos, you should visit this location often. I found the pricing on used merchandise to be comparable to other Bricks & Minifigs stores if not maybe even cheaper here. Parking is easy and this is accessible via the 405 north/south freeway off-ramps with minimal inland street driving. Support your local merchants.

Along with all the Technic connectors and joints. These and the special pieces (like animals, castle parts, nets, capes, printed pieces) are where this location excels above and beyond all others, including the valley, OC, SD, and even IE locations. Only Costa Mesa and Laguna Niguel rivals their bulk selection and certainly does not match the specialty parts collection. On the other hand, there has only been a couple of new in box sets that have appealed to me here. Haven't gotten a used set yet, as the selection for those have been more impressive elsewhere. I have however purchased a few minifigs from here which, while pricey, are a nice find when on sale.

This is a specific Bullpen Sports HQ review of their Saturday 04-05-25 Bullpen Card Show... and…read morethat coincided with National Hockey Card Day (they gave away free Upper Deck NHL hockey cards and packs just for attending) So, it was a card convention event! FREE Admission inside of the retail store. Spacious with probably maybe around 30-50 dealer tables. What I praised to one of the staff of this store about, as well at chatting with some of the sellers at Bullpen is that it felt like a lot of the "dealers" were not the typical ones of today's show-off "let's go!" era who sell cards for a living or hustle by bringing overpriced cards like a museum that have arrogant attitudes wanting to flex and show off their cards but with price-tags nobody's paying. This show felt like most of the "dealers" were simply hobby collectors looking to resell and priced their merchandise to sell and move. They were family friendly to kids and appreciative to customers with upbeat attitude. We bought some low end Pokemon cards and when curious to see the online eBay comps which is generally cheaper, I found the cards we purchased were comparably equal or lower (factoring online shopping typically necessitates paying shipping and sales tax) and we got to browse and take home cards immediately. We've been to shows like the Burbank Card Show and left it deflated because there was nothing to buy in terms of good opportunities. Bullpen Sports HQ is quite the opposite! They are a retail LCS (local card store/shop) and opened their doors to theoretically competitor sellers in camaraderie to benefit the hobby and collectors for a card show convention type event. All of the dealers seemed to have a nice variety of sports cards and also Pokemon cards. The pricing was very fair with everyone we saw and there wasn't any mega-booths pushing overpriced cards or promoting their rips or breaks. This felt like a local show from the 1980's type vibe. The sellers were easy to talk to and very gracious to customers whether browsing and not buying, picking up $1 caliber cards or negotiating discount offers for deals. I highly recommend this for everyone and especially kids and their parents. Several dealers gave my young 8 year old son free gifts too! I believe the staff said they try to hold these card shows several times a year, maybe every 6 weeks or spread after every 2 months and the rates for dealer tables seem very fair for collectors to come set up and sell. With all that being said, this was an amazing event that exceeded expectations. Parking was easy, especially if you're willing to walk a few short minutes using free parking on the neighborhood streets.

I bring my 10-year-old son here, and he absolutely loves it. It s become one of our favorite places to spend time together. We enjoy opening cards, talking about different pulls, and sometimes even shooting hoops. It s more than just a card shop - it s a great environment for families and kids who truly love the hobby. The cards are 100% legit, and I truly feel confident investing in them here. Everything is authentic, fairly priced, and handled professionally. I recommend this place 100%. I was acknowledged by the one staff member who was already helping another customer so that was appreciated. Too a look around and the space is a little large for their offerings, hopefully they can grow and survive, the had a mix of graded sports and gaming cards, and ungraded cards, their selection was OK, it was in a display case near one wall with some supplies on another wall and some boxes on the other wall. Overall, they seem to be under utilizing the space available to them, as far as their inventory of single "better" cards go it's about what I would expect to see on one dealer table at a card show. The cards were somewhat organized by sport or game, but others were mixed together. Prices were not terrible, but I did not see any super bargains that I needed to grab and pick up. I've seen better small shops, and I have seen worse, so BoxBreaks falls right in the middle. I would give them a call if I was looking for something, but I wouldn't make a special trip without calling first.
