Very disappointed with this stores return policy! Went to return a damaged artist canvas today and was told that they could not return or exchange this because it was originally part of a package of 2. The other canvas was fine and I only wanted an exchange due to product manufacturing defect. Perhaps a slight discount on a new package I asked? Manager Sylvia was very abrupt and made me feel foolish for even inquiring. I am a rewards member and lifelong loyal customer but they made the decision to loose a costumer for life over a $14.00 item. read more

God, I love Halloween. It's the time of year that girls like me can be considered "normal", or even "festive". I don't think I've ever been called "festive" before... I take Halloween seriously. Honestly, who else would walk into a craft store see mini wooden coffins priced at just over a dollar and think "that is awesome I so totally need that in my room maybe I can store X,Y,Z in it?!" Purchased items online and had to return. I didn't receive a printed out receipt along with my items. Online on their return policy, it says that if you have an account, they're able to track it and you're able to get a refund. At this location, they don't allow it. Dropped off a lithograph to be matted and placed in their frame on November 24, 2020. The price was $107.00. I picked it up in mid December. When I arrived home I noticed that small pieces of matting were on the white matting. I returned it for Rework a few days later and was told that it would Not be ready until well after Christmas? It would seem likely that poor workmanship would be addressed more expediantly this was not the case. I was never contacted and called on January 9th. The phone rang and rang and no one answered. I called back and spoke with the store manager. He said that the framing department was busy and to call back. I chose to wait, a few minutes later he came back on the line and stated, Framing was with a customer and would be occupied for 30 minutes and they would call back. Incidentally Michaels store manager was not the framing department manager as it was operated by Aaron brothers. When framing called back they stated that they had tried to reach me twice and the line was busy? It was now ready for pick up. Quite a dissatisfied customer relations experience! read more

Great location, nothing horrible to say. When I came in the store was clean and organized. I was able to find everything I needed with ease. During my time there not one employee checked on me, some people would say that's either good or bad. My checkout was average, the employee was not friendly but she wasn't rude either. This store has terrible service. Came in for spray paint and let two store associates know on my way in that I needed spray paint. I pressed the button for assistance and waited 15 minutes. This store has tiny aisles and standing in one spot for 15 minutes is a real hassle because the aisles are soo small that two people cannot pass each other in the aisle and you have to constantly move into other aisles and spaces to avoid bumping into people and constantly apologizing for standing in the aisle. An associate 4 aisles down saw me standing at the gate, I saw her make eye contact with me twice and she did not offer to help. I had to walk up to her and ask her for help and she seemed bothered. Then the line to check out was so long... Honestly the drive to home Depot which is 10 miles away probably would have been shorter than the time it took to get one spray can from this store. read more

Nice big store in a large shopping mall. The only complaint on the parking is that most of the spots are made for tiny compact cars. I went in looking for some Halloween items that were half off, but the one I was looking for was sold out a long time ago.. $79 and $99 each. Then here was the funniest part, when they finally found a record of my order, they got all shitty with me and said "uh I'm showing you just placed this order 38 minutes ago" and I was like, "yeah, that's correct." And they go "that's too soon, you'll get an email when it is ready. It MIGHT BE tomorrow." lol so I had to just buy the stuff again (which they must've already pulled because they didn't even have quantity I ordered on the shelf) and then cancel the online pickup order. this location is smaller than the Michael's I'm used to. That also means that they do their best to cram the same amount of inventory into a smaller space. Aisles felt smaller and since they were slightly busy that day, getting around the location took some serious navigation skills. One of the main reasons why I came here was to look at their shadow boxes and they only had about 3 different sizes. Not the type of selection I'm used to at Michael's. At least the checkout moved quickly so once we had found a few extra items to buy (which always seems to happen when I go to Michael's with my wife) we were able to navigate the line quickly and get on with our day. read more

After reading some of the negative reviews I had to chime in my two cents worth. I've been coming here since I moved to the valley in 2010. They've always had everything I've needed, wanted or just impulse bought. I've never had an employee give me attitude so I was surprised to read that other customers had...until I read some of their other reviews and it seems that people give them 'attitude' everywhere they go. Which makes me think the reviewers should consider the common denominator in their reviews. Themselves. In fact, the only thing that keeps me from giving this Michaels 5 stars is the line at the registers ALWAYS sucks. I don't fault the employees for working at the only store that carries these products though. Actually, quite the opposite I try to be as compassionate as I can muster after standing in line with the many obnoxious bratty unruly children that the worst parenting the valley has to offer drags into the store. Between that and the insanely bitchy people that can't read their coupons expired before getting to the register and/or think that just because an item was misplaced (likely by another customer) in a section with a different price the store should honor that price. So really those two groups of people mainly make up for why the line sucks anyway. And just an FYI Michael, the framing manager, is awesome...really everyone I've worked with in that department has been extremely helpful and patient. So honestly where else in the North Valley are you gonna get your Art and Crafting supplies, as well as, your pictures framed? I mean if there's another place that has all this stuff AND refuses to serve 95% of the valley denizens let me know, I'll switch. But until then I'll make the best of things because really the only thing wrong with Michaels are the other customers. read more

The worst place to go shopping for art supplies! I normally hit up Joann's and hobby lobby for my art projects but since Michaels was closest to me I headed there. The employees were nice and helpful when I couldn't find certain items. The manager, Bob, on the other hand, is very disrespectful and blatantly mistreats employees with no filter right on the work floor. For all of your DIY, hobby, and homemade home decor needs then this is the place to go. it's a really great self service place. My rating is not based on the quality of it's products and section, but rather the 50/50 quality of their associates. Every-time I go the customer service received falls always into one of two categories: 1) Person walks right up to you, greets you, and asks if you need anything... 2) Person made observable attempt to avoid any interaction with customers.. My last visit was very much like this scenario. Some employees were awesome at walking right up to you and offering assistance. Other times, I walked past employees talking among themselves, pretending to be working on some type of group re-stock or plan-o-gram, as they made no effort to help customers around them... Simple recommendation, remind your employees that it is about the "Customer Service"! read more

I feel like 3 stars is pretty spot-on for this location. I like that they are located in a big shopping center so there is always plenty of parking, but the store itself is always kind of disorganized and the aisles are so narrow so it's hard to navigate when the store is busy- which is like always. I enjoy their Christmas decorations and they usually have good sales on nice picture frames. Ooooh and planner supplies - stickers, washi tape and decorative pens - they have a good selection. However the line is usually long and fairly slow moving so don't come when you are in a hurry. read more

Store is well stocked for the most part but when I needed a cake box, there was only one left of the kind that I needed and it was missing half of the lower panel (torn off). The salesgirl at the counter was nice enough to ask the "manager" for a discount (at my request), the manager "graciously" offered 10% off. REALLY? 10% off, an insult. If I were the manager I would have given the box to a loyal customer..... because, who else is going to purchase s torn cake box! Poor customer service decision, this manager could learn a thing or two. read more

We have a report due on Boron, where do we go? Michaels! We have to do a picturama, where do we go? Michaels! We have to make up a planetarium, where do we go? Michaels! Michaels always saves the day. No matter what we are looking for: Styrofoam balls, construction paper, boxes, scrapbooking, or my daughter just wants canvas to paint, we come to Michaels. They have all kinds of crafts for the different holidays, and my girl is always picking up little things for my daughters classes to do, or my nephews to color or paint. My daughter wanted to start scrapbooking, we came here. She wanted to become an artist and paint, we came here. My son wanted to design baskets for Easter, we came here. My friend became a dad for the first time, so I came here, got baskets, material, and thread and made him baskets for the baby shower, that can also be used to store diapers, wipes, and onesies. They have decorations for every occasion, and if they don't have it, they have what it takes to make it. Make your own Christmas decorations? Check! Wanna make ginger bread houses? Check! Easter baskets? Check! Need things to put up for Halloween, or make for Halloween? Check. They really do have it all. Only thing you have to worry about in this location is finding it. Sometimes things you want are just laying around, and if you ask someone where you would find more, they have no idea where it would have been in the first place. I do notice that they take you to where they think it would be, but if you continue looking, you will probably find it somewhere completely different. I do love coming here, and they have yet to let me down. Topped with the coupons they always send you if you sign up for their mailing list, it makes it that much better of a place to go. Just don't go in a hurry, you might leave a little frustrated, due to the long lines sometimes, or the lack of being able to find things right away... read more

Love to craft so obviously love to go to Michaels, so decided to have my daughters 10th birthday here. Sadly I was greatly disappointed. Was promised the craft room with staff member who would remain in the room for the entire time, prep for the projects, instruct the party goers and clean up. Also included was a special apron for the birthday girl. All I had to do was purchase whatever materials would be needed for the crafts. We arrived 15-20 prior to the start of the party, as I was instructed to do, and went straight to the craft room which was a mess, there was stuff scattered on the tables and there was no staff member to be seen. I went in search of someone and they said they would inform them that we had arrived. 10 minutes later a staff member showed up, she had no idea that there was a party scheduled and had nothing prepped so needless to say everything started late. I had planned to have the girls tie dye T-shirts and make friendship bracelets. When the staff member saw the bracelet making kit that I purchased, (one that was recommended for use at the party by another staff member the previous week), she informed me she had no idea how to make them. She got started on dying the shirts with the girls and then informed me as they were finishing up this first craft that she would be leaving us to go to lunch soon and her manager would be in to take over. After waiting 15 minutes I finally went to the front of the store and reminded them that we had a party going on back there and that the girls were sitting there doing nothing. Another staff member came back and finally got the friendship bracelets started. She however left before the party had finished as well. A third staff member came at one point and apologized and said they had been very busy due to the open house, I then reminded her that she was the one who booked my party and I specifically asked her if having a party on the day of an open house would be a problem and she guaranteed me that it wouldn't be and that we would be well taken care of. She offered to let us use the room for an additional half hour which was pointless since parents were picking up the girls at a given time and most had to leave right away. We finally thanked and said goodbye to all of our guests, picked up our things and left, no one there to see if we needed anything. I had to go to the front and remind them of my daughters apron which was not what I expected at all, very cheap looking. I will continue to shop at Michaels but this will definitely be the last party I have there and will not be recommending their parties to any of my friends. read more
