I'm sorry to give them a star, all due to the store manager. I love the clothes and I always buy online and occasionally from a store. I came to return a few pieces I purchased online 2 days ago. The pieces were all in their original packages, never opened. I was returning because the package arrived very late and I did not need them anymore. The manager was on the register. When she heard I have a return, she said omg nooo, and started showing attitude!! I'm like what did I do to you? She kept nagging saying oh this hurts oh no!! I was going to purchase more stuff from store but with this strange behavior I decided to leave and never come back! read more

This store associate always behaves rude. customer service is not their priority at all! they waste your time and money! if you are Janie and jack fan, i recommend online shopping instead. besides, most of the time they don't have all the sizes or models ! don't forget they don't accept exchange or return by different excuse! read more

So I walk in there I was looking for tights , they didn't have any , the 2 ladies were just speaking within themselves and on their tablets and every question I had was just a cold one word answer . No thank you read more

Love their service over the phone. Always open to helping me find what I want and to ship out to me.

their clothes are nice but they are RUDE and they lie. They overcharged for clothes that you can buy for half the price online and then they said to come back in the store for an adjustment which they would not honor. Carine is the worst and watch out for her biggest liar !!!! read more

Janie and Jack (can you believe it's part of Gymboree?) has absolutely beautiful children's clothing. Perfect place to shop if you want a unique baby gift or dressy clothing for your tot. All the clothing is extremely well-made and it built to last. I only hesitate to give a perfect 5 star review because of the high prices. Yes, I'm a firm believer in "you get what you pay for", but it's also slightly ridiculous to buy a 5-month old a $100 dress she'll wear for 2 hours. :P 4.5 shakas, overall. read more

In love with this store. They will not be closing! Hallelujah. Wish I had enough money to literally buy everything here everyday. I love buying gifts here because I feel like the parents of the birthday girl or boy always appreciate it because they know the store is so high and end. Veronica is so helpful. I will be coming here for many years to come. read more

Workers are nice and friendly. New clothing line is really nice. Love. As always, the sales rack is not too shabby. read more

5 stars for the clothes and 1 star for the service. I never seen anyone that slow. Slow and passive aggressive. The point is if you don't like the job, change it. Don't ruin someones business with unpleasant attitude. read more

This might be long but I had to share my traumatizing experience...Let me start by saying I've been shopping at Janie and Jacks for years and have always received amazing customer service and never had any problems until now. I had recently bought a dress for my daughter that was on sale and when I went home to try it on her, the dress was small so I had to return it. I went to the store with my mom and was greeted by the Assistant Manager Veronica who was helping another customer. While she was assisting the customer she also began to assist me with my return. She asked if anything was wrong with it and I simply told her the dress didn't fit my daughter (the tags were attached, dress was never worn and I had my receipt and only 3 days had passed from the time of purchase). When I reached in my bag to give her the receipt she looked at it and with an attitude replied "this is the wrong receipt" I told her "oh I reached for the wrong one let me find the correct receipt for you" while I was looking for the receipt she looked at the tag and said "I can't return this dress this is from 2015" I told her "yes the dress was on sale but I bought it only 3 days ago " she didn't even give me a chance to give her the correct receipt and began to make assumptions while rolling her eyes and being disrespectful. When I did give her the receipt she said "Anyways I'm not going to do this return for you, you need to leave my store" I'm not even exaggerating those were her exact words! I was dumbfounded! I didn't even know what to reply. I had done nothing to offend her in any shape or form and I told her that she is discriminating and the way she is treating me is wrong. That's when she turned to the customer next to me and asked "hey do you think I am discriminating" I don't even know why she would involve another customer into this to begin with! Then she said "if you don't' leave the store I will call security" I told her "please do!" When the security arrived he pulled me outside and I told him how rude and disrespectful I was being treated and she refused to assist me for no reason and asked me to leave the store! I have never in my 30 years of living ever been treated this way. The security went inside to speak with her separately and then came back out and said she will assist with your return because there is no valid excuse she was able to give as to why she was treating me the way she was. I went back inside the store and she did my return with no questions asked with the security guard standing next to me to make sure everything went smooth. I literally left the store traumatized and dumbfounded and couldn't believe what just happened! When I got home I called corporate to file a complaint and this was on 02/03, they told me the district manage will contact me in 7-10 days max and until this day I am waiting for a call back. I have called corporate several times to follow up with my claim up but all they tell me is "we sent the district manager an email and she will contact you there is not much we can do". I'm sharing my experience to warn others because I would hate for anyone else to be treated this way by Veronica. I am a mother of 2 and I'm so thankful my children were not with me at the time! read more

I must say, this store is a hidden gem. I came in looking for multiple gifts, and Karine and her fabulous staff not only helped me pick out just the right clothes, I ended up buying something for my 2 year old son. They also hand wrapped each one for that special presentation. For customer service that is second to none, go visit these ladies. read more

Great little store for children's clothes. The clothes are beautiful! They have matching outfits, everything from little matching socks, hats, sweaters, hair accessories, and shoes. Most of the clothes I saw were washable, which is a plus for busy mom's! One small, tiny gripe is that they don't have a dressing room. I was with my little niece who fits into two different sizes and we had nowhere to try the clothes on her. We had to put the dress on her in the corner! But, aside from that, the store is great. The clothes are totally on the pricey side but are well worth it. Beautiful clothes and very well made. Wide range of sizes and items in there too. One of the few stores that carried formal dresses in the Topanga Mall. My little niece looked adorable at the wedding, I strongly suggest going there if you need formal dresses for children. read more

Amber and Julie were awsome! I had some items that I had gotten as a gift for my son. We currently reside in Santa Monica. We took our items to the Santa Monica store and they said it had been past the X amount of days.. and did not accept the return and told us to take them to the store we had purchased them from. So a few months later, we visited the topanga mall. We stopped by Janie and Jack and Amber and Julie returned them. Im not just happy becuase they returned them, im happy because they were very friendly and helped me to spend what i returned and another couple hundred. I love this store. If you are looking for nice clothes visit Janie and Jack. If you are looking for good service visit Janie and Jack at the Topanga Mall. Dont go to Santa Monica - Very prissy and not helpful. read more

I am very disappointed by my experience at Janie and Jack. It was my first time walking in this store and now my last. My mother in law has been dying to buy my daughter some clothing from here so after we had dinner at Blaze Pizza we walked into the store around 8:45pm. We knew that the mall closes at at 9pm so we knew we were going to be spending a long time in the store. Around 8:50pm a customer walks out of the store and the store associate locks the door behind them. We asked her why she locked the door and she said it's because she doesn't want anymore customers walking in. We looked at our watches and said to ourselves that we still have 10 minutes, so why is she locking the door. The associate then told us that we have until 9pm to shop. We felt very uncomfortable and unlocked the door ourselves and left the store. Needless to say she locked the door right after we left and the store should still be open for five minutes. read more

Let me start this with saying I've shopped with Janie and jack for a while now but I've never felt more ignored and disrespected while shopping at this location. To start I walk in to the store and the the two lady's never once attempted to ask me if there's anything that I need help with our even welcoming me into the store. The employees (older Hispanic lady and and another blonde lady) just kept talking amongst each other like they didn't have any work todo or customers to help. And I'm sorry to have to explain the workers like that but like I said they never made an attempt to approach me. This being said let me begin with how the store looks appearance wise, first off everything is so disorganized that I didn't even know where to begin looking for Easter clothing, the mannequins were poorly displayed and I truly mean POORLY DISPLAYED. I don't know who management is at this location or if they even do have a manager but they really need to step it up back to when the other manager Was still working here. I understand they were going out of business but that doesn't mean they should ignore and treat customers like this. read more

I am extremely disappointed to say the least with the staff at this location. I absolutely love Janie and Jack, and have purchased many many things as gifts at this location and others. I came in on the 6th of this month ( barely wobbled my 41 week self on a mission to send out a gift for a friends child before I gave birth). The lady at the register was great, she gave me my order confirmation receipt, helped me pick out the most adorable outfits. But when it's already the 20th and my friend has yet to have received anything, I called to inquire. The girl on the phone at 10 am said she would call me back, took down my phone number, name, who it was sent to etc. I called back at 1ish when I didn't get a call back, same girl, asked me for all the same info, couldn't find anything in the system, kept asking if it was an online order I said I ordered it and paid in store, I don't know how you guys processed it. She said she didn't have it. What? I was holding onto the printed receipt with an order number which I gave her. The girl on the phone was not bright to say the least, kept saying that the 6th was a Saturday and not a business day so I should count beginning the Monday. However the 6th was a Tuesday. Nonetheless tweedle see adamantly persisted it was the weekend. Also stated that the order was an online order ( thought she couldn't find it) and that online orders should have been delivered 3-7 Business days. I said oh okay, well, nonetheless it wasn't delivered. She then said something that really ticked me off, " I need to hang up on you, I have a customer." Ummm, am I not holding onto 3 receipts amounting to $300? I told her I couldn't believe that's how she spoke to customers... told her I would call corporate, and have my cc company stop payment, she was unfazed, said go ahead... turns out the real tweedle dee was me I paid with debit ;( read more
