Reviews With Photos - TJ Maxx

When asked for her name she said, "you can write it down yourself" and proceeded to cover her name tags. The rudest manager here!

I have never experienced such unprofessionalism and rudeness at a retail store like I have at this TJ Maxx. The managers and employees here act as if they are above company policy, holding items for themselves and openly admitting that they can do so for as long as they want. When questioned about it, they stated that each store has different rules and that they don't have to follow TJ Maxx's official policies. On multiple occasions, I have witnessed employees yelling at customers in the checkout line, especially when pricing discrepancies arise. I have personally been on the receiving end of this treatment, and instead of resolving the issue professionally, the managers respond with an attitude, smirking or even laughing when confronted. To make matters worse, they intentionally cover their name tags to avoid accountability. This store desperately needs oversight from a district manager because the level of customer service is appalling. Employees here act untouchable, treating customers with blatant disrespect. I am not the only person who has experienced this, and besides this review, I will also be filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. The photo attached shows a manager deliberately covering her name tag--an example of the unprofessional behavior that occurs regularly at this location. TJ Maxx corporate should seriously reevaluate the management at this store.

'Tis the season for warm clothes, blanket and the like. I was so happy I was able to find something and a few to choose from. The price isn't bad too. While on my way to the register, I looked at their clearance section. Lo and behold, I found a lovely backpack . The size is good enough to carry stuff while out on a walk or running an errand.

This is my favorite tj max location. But every tj max has its great "finds". This location is more organized and a little bigger than the others. Selections are great. Staff is friendly. They have the Christmas decorations out already lol. I've been coming here for years and for many more years

This is a store located within the Fallbrook Center shopping complex. The store itself has wider aisles than typical TJ stores and feels very open with shelves typically well organized. The problem here is the staffing, even at opening, there is always a long line to checkout and never enough staff. The typical wait is in excess of 30 min., so unless you have a lot to buy or lots of time, it may not be worth it. Having been here on multiple occasions, it is not a one off. Being that my visits are mostly on weekends, I expect it to be busier, but they should also anticipate that and have additional staff versus always seeming to be lacking. Typical situation is only 2 cashiers open with at least 10+ people in line.

Always a long line at checkout and they don't call for extra help. Expect to wait up to 15-20 min to pay. So efficient!

I recently went and bought a ton of kitchen supplies and a new food chopper that I've been eyeing at for awhile.

Instead, they pick who they want to help and let the next customer wait. I waited in the long line for 15 min with ONE cashier, then the other lady opened a new register and took the person behind me. The person behind me was the same nationality as the cashier so maybe she was privileged. I had 3 things in my hand. I told her 2 times she was rude for doing that and she never even looked my way as I was talking. Left my 3 items. After 20 yrs going there... I will NEVER be back! There are plenty other DT stores around!

There was a long line, and for about ten minutes the cashier kept calling for a manager to help at the front. Eventually an older woman I think She's the Manager her name is Amelia, came to assist. When she arrived, another woman cut in front of me. I pointed out that there was a long line of people who had been waiting their turn, but the woman who cut in just said, "She told me it was okay." Then the manager started talking to that woman and told me that if I didn't like it, I should leave. When it was finally my turn, I mentioned that a paper roll on the counter wasn't mine. Amelia grabbed it, slammed it down, and yelled, "THAT GOES HERE!" I told her it was okay and that I understood, and then she mumbled that I should "understand she was stressed because she closed last night." This experience was extremely unprofessional and disrespectful. I hope this message reaches whoever needs to address this situation.

They have a bulk item they sell from Sugar Paper, a luxury stationary company, that I was really surprised to see and definitely delighted to have come across. Because to me.... score! Oh and you'll see the brand Balmain in there too... If you do your own manicures and dye your own hair they have items for that. You'll see lots of neatly organized gel nail polishes and box dyes available. Very happy they offer inexpensive box hair dye! They carry everyday comfort items including good quality sleep masks. But when I walked into Selectify it was filled with goodies, arranged so the front had the large furniture, which made the warehouse feel open and inviting. My friend and I set to task, looking for hidden treasure. Ok, I was SUPPOSE to be looking for a desk chair. Selectify had them, but I was more interested in the items I didn't know I needed! LOL Insight on me...I love a duvet cover. I'm not into shoes, clothes are just a necessity(...or are they...?) purses can be fun, but a DUVET COVER??? Well the right one can feel like luxury, comfort and an overall sense of security and well being. Don't know why, just does. So, I saw multiple bins of King & Queen duvets, but they were white, nothing exciting, so I moved on. Just as I was leaving - finding only a MUCH NEEDED pair of floor sweeping slippers, another duvet on display caught my eye. lovely grey with white embroidery. I asked Simon if there were more duvets like this and he happily took me to a large shelf of boxes. Some of the boxes had "comforters" listed, with a sample of each outside the box. He did have to move a few about, but then emerged ANOTHER beautiful duvet. 'Ok, Simon, how much?' '$12' was the reply. SOLD! My new duvet is in the wash as I type, and my slippers have already dusted the floor while Hub's eyes rolled. Am I content? No....I'm thinking about that other duvet and will be back to get it later this weekend. I may also have to grab a couple of beautiful garden pots, which retail $20-$80 elsewhere, at Selectify for $10 -$40. Simon let me know that stock changes daily. If you have something particular in mind, just ask, he knows the inventory and is happy to help. I have a feeling Selectify will be a regular spot for my treasure hunting from now on. Cheers! "CC"
