I I completely understand that Dollar Tree stores are very busy this season, but it is not acceptable for staff to be rude to customers. Today I went in to buy some packing supplies. There was a long line, and for about ten minutes the cashier kept calling for a manager to help at the front. Eventually an older woman I think She's the Manager her name is Amelia, came to assist. When she arrived, another woman cut in front of me. I pointed out that there was a long line of people who had been waiting their turn, but the woman who cut in just said, "She told me it was okay." Then the manager started talking to that woman and told me that if I didn't like it, I should leave. When it was finally my turn, I mentioned that a paper roll on the counter wasn't mine. Amelia grabbed it, slammed it down, and yelled, "THAT GOES HERE!" I told her it was okay and that I understood, and then she mumbled that I should "understand she was stressed because she closed last night." This experience was extremely unprofessional and disrespectful. I hope this message reaches whoever needs to address this situation. read more

1. Unprofessional, rude and argumentative manager Amelia. It seems as though she's constant in a bad mood. I've had 2 not so pleasant encounters with her. Please Dollar Tree look into her behavior to customers and employees. It gives your company a bad name. Please hire a manager that cares about the store. Maybe she needs a class in manners and customer service. Do better! read more

There are 2 women now that work the registers. They look like they could be related. Rude and do not know how to take "the next customer" in line. Instead, they pick who they want to help and let the next customer wait. I waited in the long line for 15 min with ONE cashier, then the other lady opened a new register and took the person behind me. The person behind me was the same nationality as the cashier so maybe she was privileged. I had 3 things in my hand. I told her 2 times she was rude for doing that and she never even looked my way as I was talking. Left my 3 items. After 20 yrs going there... I will NEVER be back! There are plenty other DT stores around! read more

Understaffed!! Takes forever to check out. Wasn't like this before . Usually 10-20 people in line, 1 or 2 registers open

Crowded, messy not enough cashiers - items thrown on the floor and can't find any employees to help or answer questions. Very disappointed..... won't go back there. Hope the new location in the Fallbrook Mall will open soon. read more

They have a large section of products. It is busy so expect to wait in line. No different than most stores you go to now they only have two the most three registers. Love going to this one also because it is in a large shopping center so you never have trouble finding parking. read more

Amir is a wonderful employee. He had a line so long that it went into the aisles, was requesting backup on the registers, and handling complaints from customers meanwhile i could see his coworkers (posting this at the time i left) socializing in the front. It is ridiculous that this man did not get the support he needed while the others are socializing. Who knows, maybe both of them are on break but if thats not the case that was, as i said before, ridiculous. read more

Dollar Tree is always a great place to go to when you need a small item or diy item. The afternoons here are very busy, so you can't get in and out, if that's your way of shopping. Otherwise, this location has some good finds. I was shopping in the gift wrap section. They had a lot of different options of wrapping paper to choose from. Parking is easy since it's in a big shopping complex. read more

Dollar Tree - Super long lines in the afternoon - Discount Store Near Me - West Hills, California

They have some good things, I mostly come here to for party supplies and balloons, maybe some crafts for school. Always have a large selection of holiday stuff and decorations. They need to hire more employees, always a long line and only 1 or 2 people working the check out. They are friendly, but overwhelmed when you ask them about something. Big parking lot and I always find a spot by the front. read more

Valentine's day Saturday I walk in and see a line going past the candy aisle with one girl working. I hear her call for backup multiple times and it took quite some time for the manager to come to help. She comes and asks what the problem is to the girl working and she says "the line got long." The lack of professionalism, quickness, and care for her job made it clear that the manager doesn't worry about anyone but herself. I told her she needs to have someone else working it's a saturday morning and it's valentine's day! I tried to tell her that this is unacceptable and she proceeded to tell me that I should handle the payroll. The lack of professionalism was absurd as I walked out and I won't be visiting this dollar tree again. I didn't care about waiting in line, it's the fact that they put a single person on register for this entire store. I watched someone leave the line and just walk out with their items as a result of the wait. DO BETTER DOLLAR TREE!! read more

Love the Dollar Tree , I can always count on finding things that I need for project without hurting my pockets. It it doesn't work out at least it didn't cost much. Perfect for DIY projects. The store at 6454 Platt Ave has terrible service. I went in there a couple of months ago and there were at least 10 people in line and only one register open. I went into the same store again today and they were 15 people in line and only one register open. I will never shop at this Dollar Tree again. The wait would've been 15 minutes. I tried calling the store and they don't answer their phone. read more

Zero employees, been waiting over 20 minutes for cashier. People just walk out the store without paying

Super nice staff. Super big selection. Super good prices. Why only 4 stars? They have been out of helium for over a week... No balloons, no five stars! read more

Female cashier is just unfriendly to customers. She dropped my coins change in my hand in which some fell to the counter. She looked at me to see my reaction. This is the second time I've been to this location and experienced the same unfriendly attitude from this woman. It's my last time shopping there. I asked for my receipt, and she said that she gave it to me, the only thing she gave me was coins dropped in my hand. I left it like that because I was going to let her mess my day up. read more

There are hardly any employees , so you can never find anyone who can help you and the one employee is so unfriendly and indifferent

Just stood in a line that went all the way to the back of the store. One man cashier. Did not call for back up. A customer complained after he left to spend time straightening the shopping carts. The other older lady who came after 10 minutes to ring insisted that he was taking his required break. And argued instead of just saying I'm sorry for the long wait. He could have taken at least 4 more customers in that time. This is a favorite store but always has this lack of c read more

Never any helium, balloons that they do have blown up they wouldn't sell to me because the cashier was lazy and wouldn't get one down. Their smaller balloons that they're selling are a joke and deflated. At this point take down your balloons and stop acting like you sell them.... They never have helium any time I have gone in the last 2 years. Cashier didn't even ask me for a bag and when I had asked for one after I paid she goes "10 cents. Do you want?" Um yeah if you had asked I would have paid with my stuff but now I'm supposed to pull 10 cents out ? Yeah this place is a joke. Not to mention the lines are atrocious and the store is a MESS. Don't waste your time here. Spend the time and gas and go to a different dollar tree. read more

I always find great stuff at this dollar tree. Crafts for the kids. Decorations for the house. You have to get here in time for the holidays because if you come too close to the holiday they won't stay stocked. This means you have to plan ahead. The only thing I would change is the shopping carts. They make them impossible to take out of the store which makes it hard to buy too much stuff. read more

There's so much stuff in this store it's hard to know where to look first. There's the seasonal merchandise, the party goods, the greeting cards...for people who really still send them rather than the e cards...the household items...the hair accessories...stuff, plenty of stuff awaits at this store. While I realize people complain about the long lines. They seem to move rather quickly. After all everyone is looking for some bargain or another. The deals of the day for me were the whoppee cushion I bought for the kids and the balloons, helium inflated for 1.00, ya won't find that any place else! read more

This store is already a junk store and it gets even more weird with this one in particular. Crackheads frequent it's not even that large compared to a couple of the other ones. But besides that, today I went in and they had milk on the shelf? Like regular milk. Huh... I thought it was suppose to go in the fridge, always. The fact this store has a toilet as their main picture on here should already tell you something. read more

----Atmosphere, Service & Price--- This is a nice medium sized store in the Platt Village area. It's moderately clean for the most part, and things can be cluttered up at times but it is what it is. There's always a good amount of people in here especially on the weekends. Several employees are always around. The register seems to move pretty fast from the times I've been in here. As you can imagine by the name of it, everything here is ........$1! ----Items & Parking---------- You can find a bit of everything here. Cleaning products, kids toys and games, candles and accessories, birthday/seasonal/greeting cards, decor, food and snacks, gift bags and gift wrapping stuff, you name it, they have it. Parking is easily accessible in the large parking lot. read more

Dollar tree is quite awesome as they sell brand name products as well as other new unknown brands at $1. A store very similar to 99 cent store but I feel with a bit more quality products but small stores. Pros - 99% of items are $1. I mean it can't get any better for buying snacks, cleaning products, birthday items, or even supplies. - Location is perfect in the platt shopping center and just big enough to provide a lot. - The deals here are great and they have new stuff usually every month to other month due to holidays. Con - Service is pretty bad here. Usually only 1 person working and store is always packed. - it gets packed.. and when it does it takes forever. Other than that this store is good. Definitely suggest dollar tree for daily items and snacks whether you are on a budget or just want your groceries. read more

I don't understand why they can't fill up balloons with helium that weren't purchased there. I offered to pay and they still said no. I spoke with Rosario the manager and she said she would get fired if she allowed the employee to put helium in the balloons. This is absurd. Why is this company so cruel to their employees and customers? read more

Terrible service the same manager just tasking away while the line to PAY extends through the store and with one cashier. If they have what you're looking for, then this place is great! Unfortunately, as with most discount stores, it's really a crapshoot. You might have to either leave empty handed or make a compromise. The biggest issue is that the check out line moves slowly. And my experience seems to be consistent with other reviews. Don't plan on getting in and out of this store quickly! read more

I feel bad leaving a one star review but I hope they can maybe learn from it? Anyways, while shopping in the store I sliced my finger open on one of the shelves. Blood was flowing out and I didn't have anything to stop the moderately heavy bleeding so I asked an associate for a bandaid as I assumed they had a first aid kit for injuries and emergencies. Nope. She told me to go buy a box of bandaids if I wanted one. The line was 20+ people and I still had nothing to stem the bleeding so I ended up going into a neighboring store who had no problem helping me. Please, please get a first aid kit for injuries Dollar Tree. Nearly every other store has one. I don't understand why you don't? read more

Since the staff change I get the feeling the manager here is having a hard time getting her new crew on board. I still love the manager but she seems super stressed. Not sure if it's because she training a new crew or she's not getting the help she needs. Overall-the stuff I pick up here is always a big win in my books!!! read more

This store is great for small items you need and don't want to spend a lot for. They offer a nice selection of Birthday cards, gift bags, tissue and ribbon. This is a great savings on things people just open and trash. Party cake plates and napkins too. Glow necklace, bracelets and sticks are a deal here! Balloons upfront with a large selection for $1 The seasonal sections often have cute things for different holiday parties. The store is not always the cleanest or most organized but you can find some good deals. At certain times the store has long lines. People seem to complain about this but your at a dollar store this is not a place to expect high customer service! Plenty of parking in the shopping center lot. read more

I've been visiting this place off and on ever since it opened years ago. I remember mom would let us pick an item or two for us kids to take home. The lines can get pretty long depending on the time of day you visit. They typically only have one cashier and when people are buying dozens and dozens of small items, it can be a slow process. This is the only place where I can find those moisture absorber containers for bathrooms/closets. Best deal around when they actually have them in stock. This is my go-to place when I make my Christmas shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child; toys, school supplies, hygiene items...one stop shopping. read more

Always a long line at this store, because usually there's just one cashier working. With that said, this is still a favorite store of mine. It's fun to walk around and find such affordable and often cute items. From household supplies to stationary to seasonal items, they have a good inventory. Also, you can't go wrong with the cute balloons they have. All this great stuff for one buck or less! read more

This place can be a hit or miss! I will admit I normally do not shop at these type of places, but they serve their purpose at times. Please do not go in their expecting help finding things, that just won't happen. But if you take your time in their and really look, if your lucky you can find some really good things. Candles, small games, cards, greeting cards, glassware, even certain types of soap and hygiene products if your willing. Not to mention the balloons at the front! Even if it is busy they get through the line pretty fast, the parking is wonderful and like most other dollar stores, I guess you can say it is relativity clean. Things are not thrown all over the place. NO TIPS here, just stop by and see how lucky you are sometime... Enjoy! read more

This West Hills store is an absolute nightmare. They NEVER have enough people working the registers. There is usually just one register open, and the line of customers routinely backs up into the aisles. Heaven help you if someone has come in to get a bunch of helium balloons; then there's NO one ringing up customers while their one checker is filling mylar Garfields. It seems only when customers really start grumbling and complaining do they open another register. And sometimes not even then. I don't know if it's because they're seriously understaffed or the store is just run very poorly and the employees hate working the registers. The last time I went in there, the line wasn't as long as it usually is - it was only about seven (!) people long, so I didn't walk out as I usually do. I got within two customers of being having my items rung up when the phone at the register rang. The checker (Irma? Vilma? Something with an '-ma' at the end) answered and at first it *sounded* like she was speaking with a customer who called in with a question. But soon enough, I realized it's a purely personal call, and this knucklehead employee was holding the phone with one hand, and ridiculously, trying to continue to ring up purchases with the other - making mistakes left and right because she wasn't focusing on doing her JOB. The pace of the already slow checkout line was further reduced to a crawl. I finally paid for my stuff, made some admittedly snippy little comment to her about getting off the phone (which she didn't quite hear, and thought I was thanking her) and I got the hell out of there. Next I went to Pavilion's further north in the same shopping center. I was there for fifteen minutes, and had to pass Dollar Tree again on the way back to my car. Irma, or Velma, or Magma, or whatever the hell her name is was *still* on the phone, and now her line of customers, each looking angrier than the one behind him or her, was stretching down the aisle. No point in complaining to corporate: the "Contact Us" link on the Dollar Tree website is solely for those interested in investing with the company. They're not terribly concerned with customers. I'll continue shopping at Dollar Tree, just not this one. There's another a few miles away, at Roscoe and DeSoto, and even though this is in the armpit of Canoga Park, it's never as crowded and the lines never seem to be long. Maybe that's why. But that Dollar Tree in West Hills? Avoid it like the plague! read more
