We were warmly welcomed when we came in and got a detailed run through of how painting at Color Me Mine works. We underestimated how long our projects would take, but the staff informed us that we could take our items home and come back at a later time to finish the painting, at no extra charge. The pickup process was just as smooth as CMM called about a week later and let me know exactly when my items had to be picked up by. I do think it can get a little pricey, especially if you plan to bring a larger party. ARTime BARRO is part pottery studio, part community space, and is a relaxing, chill place where you can unleash the creativity you thought was dead, where your artistic spirit gets to come out to play, if only for just a little bit of time in this crazy world. On a recent weekend, I had the opportunity to take the One-Time Class, which is a one-hour course designed for complete beginners. You get to make two pieces, one by hand at the table and one on the pottery wheel. The class size was small (just 5 people) and we got great 1:1 instruction and guidance from our knowledgeable instructor Max. I've always wanted to try the wheel and was surprised how hard it was to use it but it was such a great experience that I think everyone should try at least once. After you sculpt your pieces, you are invited to come back to hand paint (glaze) your work at no additional cost. You can also have them do a one-color glaze for you, but after I saw all the multi-colored pieces of other folks previous to me, it was no contest to decide that I wanted to color my pieces myself. You have up to 3 months to come back to glaze so it's very doable in anyone's busy LA (corporate) lifestyle. Pricing was very reasonable for such a cool bespoke experience. There are a lot of pottery painting studios (e.g. Color Me Mine) but this is awesome bc you get to make the pottery AND color it later! I've already recommended this place to countless people!

I stopped by this Michaels store yesterday to look at their balloons selection because they had a…read moresign outside that they sell balloons now. The balloon are in the middle of the store right when you walk inside. They had some great choices and you don't have to pay for the helium, just for the balloon themselves. The prices will vary depending on which one you get. I asked an employees if I can purchase the balloon first and then come back to get it filled with helium but she told me it's better to do it all at once. So I'll come back on Saturday morning to do that. I also decided to walk around the store since I also had to use the bathroom. The bathroom is toward the back of the store but it was closed for whatever reason. I saw that this Michael store now has a self checkout station, they didn't have that before. The staff are friendly and ready to answer any questions you have.
