Initial contact with Jack was great. We called and he came a few days later to measure our rooms and to prepare an estimate. First time meeting him, we knew this would be the person we would like to have to do our flooring. He mentioned that he had a backlog, but we were in no rush for this job, so we said we would wait until he could fit us into his schedule. During this time, we ordered the flooring and all the materials needed (baseboards, T-molding, etc.). Pami, did an awesome job in breaking down the estimate and the square footage for us so we knew how much flooring to purchase. She was always able to respond to my emails that very same day. Usually within a few minutes. And we appreciate just how friendly and responsive she is! The quote was broken down nicely so you know just what you're paying for, and we appreciated that. There was no hidden fees or anything sneaky. The pricing is very reasonable for the amount of work that Jack does for the project. Jack's quality of work is outstanding. He's very meticulous and has pride in his work. His attention to detail is also excellent. The job site is very clean. He protects items and every day after leaving, cleans up. JDS Flooring is highly recommended for your flooring project. We found Jack based on all these highly praised reviews. Every single 5-star he receives is well worth it. Jack is a really cool guy to talk to about practically everything. There's a reason why Jack is in high demand. His personality, attention to detail and the quality of work along with a very reasonable price are all the reasons why. Also, don't forget Pami, who is also awesome with providing quotes, clarification and if there are any questions, will consult with Jack and get back to you. Thank you Jack and Pami!

From the first site visit to the final walkthrough, everything was seamless. William managed this project very well and guided us through this process with ease. At any point if we had questions he was quick to respond. The showroom they have is great and the experience of setting your preferences on design and materials is quite enjoyable. The only hiccup we encountered is that the supplier of the original tile that had been selected did not come in the size we needed and so it wouldn't have meshed well with the current tile in the living room. William helped us find a suitable alternative and we were able to pivot and are very pleased with the outcome. There were a couple of adjustments during the project but again related to the tile, we changed the direction of the placement which allows for us to replace the remaining tile in the house in the future if we decided to do so. William and team thinking ahead with our needs in mind really provided a sense of care. To top it all off, we wanted this build done ASAP and the team was able to complete the remodel in 8 days compared to their estimate of 10 - 14. We are extremely pleased with the work and so glad we went with a business right here in Kaneohe. Thank you William, Wen, and team! He tore down an old closet and removed a door to give us a flat back wall for a new built-in, framed and drywalled around a lava rock wall so we could install an AC unit, and covered up a CMU wall to give it a clean, smooth look. He also helped with a few smaller fixes along the way without any fuss. He showed up on time, worked quickly, and paid close attention to the details. The work areas were kept tidy every day, and he explained what he was doing so we always knew the plan. What stood out most was how versatile and skilled he is--he handled framing, drywall, and finish work all in one go. He's easy to talk to, gives honest feedback, and genuinely wants the end result to look good. We're really happy with how everything turned out and will definitely be calling him again for future projects. Highly recommend.

Our new home is roughly 500 sqft and we had a tight, 2-week moving window. We're so grateful to find Johnny, with ABC Handyman Hawaiʻi. He was punctual, meticulous, and we are so HAPPY with the results! I shopped around and received quotes from 6 different handyman, paint, and ceiling restoration companies and Johnny responded to me super quickly and ran through the end-to-end process of work to be done. My partner and I were sold by how detail-oriented he was in explaining the materials he would use and all the safety considerations we should pay attention to as new homeowners. Our goal was to get a high quality, skim coat ceiling that matched our walls and Johnny delivered. He ended up skimming 16 gallons of drywall compound onto our scraped off ceiling, he did the priming and painting, plus he did all the repairs on the wall and helped us reinstall lights and other ceiling fixtures. He also spotted that our kitchen cabinets were barely hanging on by a loose screw and made time in his schedule to secure those for us as well! We really enjoyed working with ABC Handyman, we wanted the best and we got the best. Mahalo Johnny!

This is the most important review of Sean Canfield and Finishing Touch Hardwood Floors that you can…read morefind. License ID CT-24148. Sean is certainly capable of 4-star workmanship, but he doesn't deserve any stars based upon my recent experience of him abandoning our $20,000 job. After walking off our job he promised to refund the $6,000 deposit, then he changed his mind and made demands, then threatened me with a lawsuit. His outrageous temper and behavior shocked us and I will have him arrested if he ever shows up here. I've just learned that collection of my deposit is unlikely. In this year of 2026 Sean has refused to pay a First Circuit judgment (1DRC-25-0006744 - Juliana Simone, v. Sean Canfield) and DCCA might be compelled to pay this homeowner from recovery funds (Hawaii's Contractors Recovery Fund compensates homeowners for financial damages caused by licensed contractors who have committed fraud, misrepresentation, or abandonment). Canfield and his wife, Lisa Canfield, owed the IRS $35,000 in unpaid taxes resulting in a lien on their home. If the IRS cannot collect after many years, what chance does a homeowner like me have against him? He texted me "My wife is the CFO for Goodsill Law Firm" implying that he has the upper hand in financial and legal matters. Before you give any money to Sean, be aware that he might abandon your project and never pay you back. It happened to me and it could happen to you. Be sure to read the 1-star reviews here for the most accurate information. -Sean was the cheapest but I wish I never used him. -Nobody stole his equipment, that's a lie. -I've never posted a review before, but decided the public needed to know about this person to save themselves from the time, expense, and brain damage we've had to endure. I hope Sean never takes advantage of another person in our community. -he was screaming and yelling at us and slamming our front door, we locked the door because we were afraid of him. Police came and were apologizing to me for having to deal with Sean and gave it to him. -I have ample texts and audio of Sean completely going off the rails, and on some occasions making veiled threats. I'm not sure if I can share them on Yelp, but if anyone doubts my review, feel free to reach out and I will share them. Sean also attempted to pay me to remove my Yelp review, which I refused. -I would highly recommend NOT letting Sean refinish your floors. He completely wrecked our downstairs floor, didn't finish the upstairs, and simply took our money and quit. -it was obvious this guy was a talker and a salesman with very little real knowledge about hardwood flooring. Take heed of some of the other reviews and go with a real pro. -Anytime I bring up issue with floor he got worked up and blamed us. If can, use someone else, if no can use Sean. He not real good. -Called multiple times and left messages and no call back. Better to go with someone else that actually wants to work -I just read Sean's response which is not true. I wrote this review to help others, I have no reason to lie. -cost over $6,000. I asked Sean to give me a partial refund for the living room floors and he refused. I filed a case with RICO and they said that I would have to take him to court to get any money back. -have to pay someone else around $3000.00 to have their supposedly guaranteed work fixed. Oh and don't mention to Sean about writing a bad review cause when we did he screamed at us! Horrible work and customer service. You should be ashamed Sean! -Feels like I was conned by this company. They did not repair the damaged floor and covered with darker color coating. Still showed scratches that was supposed be gone with money I paid. Horrible job and bad attitude. -We knew then you were trying to set up more of a scam. You have decided to "mess" with the wrong people Sean. You are a sorry example for anyone that aspires to be a business owner. Your inability to take ownership of a mistake made by you or a mistruth stated by you projects your true colors. Complete and total dishonesty. Despicable. -"this is Sean with Finishing Touch Hardwood Floors. Hey your damn wife left a shit as ah ah review on Yelp, real nasty.
