The way she answered my questions made it seem like I was lying and really did receive the order because the Uber driver indicated that I did. It is with a heavy heart that I change my rating for this place. I used to love it here and the food was great but I came by on Sunday and ordered the healthy heart pasta which was supposed to have all kinds of vegetables in it- on angel hair and asked for them to add shrimp. The server decided to give me instead angel hair Alfredo with broccoli and shrimp. Now, I'm lactose intolerant. So the minute I ate it I asked if it had any dairy- he said no because I ordered the veggie pasta that came with a garlic sauce instead and so I continued eating. Eventually I had to stop because my stomach just wasn't feeling right- so we requested the pasta to go and asked for the check. Surprise surprise, the check said what my stomach knew from the beginning, the server gave me Alfredo pasta and almost killed me. How irresponsible can you be? You don't know peoples allergies so you can't give them whatever you want and if they ask you, you should answer. Imagine if I had a severe allergy? This place would've legit killed me. Our reservation for 10 was honored right when we walked in and we were brought back to the indoor patio which had an old Italian feel. Our waiter was very attentive but never overbearing and everything moved very smoothly! The found was absolutely incredible. We started with the caprese salad, arancini balls and calamari and everything got eaten up very quickly. Lost Coal Coals are a treasured piece of New York pizza history. When one pops up into the consciousness of newspapers and online magazines, all pizza hounds go crazy. Somehow, though, this one fell under the radar. Housed in what was once a string of bakeries (Pietro's, Patsy's, and probably more), this coal oven is one of the largest I've ever seen - it's on the order of Al Santillo' s in Elizabeth, New Jersey. It's worth getting a pie just to inspect the thing. The eating area is as expansive. Beyond the small dining room to the backyard are a bar, a large patio, and an upper deck of eating space - all open all seasons. The area is Fordham heavy, but you're more likely to see well-to-do visitors and khaki pants coming here. And as for the pizza... it's not bad. Nice ambience outdoors but the food was bland. There were 6 of us dining together and all found our dinners to be unimpressive. Lacks seasonings and nothing special in the dishes. One of us had to send our pasta back because it was left undercooked and was literally hard when you tried to bite into it. It was supposed to be rigatoni with meat sauce and there was no meat! It was just a plate of pasta with marinara for $20! None of us were left with the desire to even try their desserts. Our server was very nice. read more

The food was really good our only complaint was that the waiter forgot about our drinks, but he stated that there was a new bartender so that delayed things. This place has a great atmosphere. At first, I thought it was just a pizza shop but when we met the hostess in the front, she ushered us to the back, which opened up to an enclosed garden. We ordered the wine, cheese and meat to start off the evening. The cheese, meats, fruits, nuts and crackers where fresh and very tasty. We selected a Riesling to keep it on the lighter side and the waiters recommendation was right in point with our pallet. Lastly, we ordered the pear salad and shrimp linguini and again, food was right on point. We ordered dinner for delivery tonight. The coconut shrimp was heavily breaded and sooo dry! My dad thought it was chicken because the shrimp was that chewy and stringy! The eggplant parm was sour, definitely past its shelf life. The fried calamari tasted so fishy and definitely tasted like it came from a frozen pack. The only edible item from all the dishes we ordered was the broccoli rabe and the mediocre chicken parm - I mean how can an Italian restaurant mess those up, right? Had to wait for almost an hour to get the food after order was placed. Everything is overpriced. The pasta was cold by the time it was served. They didn't get the simple pizza toppings right for my poor son after waiting for an hour. I would give the food 2.5 out of 5 stars just because one of the dishes, chicken masala, was good. My family came here on a beatiful Saturday night. The place was an experience for it's large portions and fair prices.

I've been here a few times and never been disappointed. When you walk into the back of this place you feel like you're completely removed from the Bronx. You feel like you're eating outside at a tropical resort, which is strange for an Italian place, but I couldn't get enough of it. The eggplant rollatini from the hot antipasto was delicious. (Mental note: order eggplant rollatini when I go back). The coconut shrimp was probably the most flavorful that I've ever had. My personal favorite dish that I've had is the pear salad. It was really light, fresh and a perfect pairing with the sangria on a hot summer day. I can't say that the pizza was memorable, but I think it's because I wasn't crazy about the toppings I chose (broccoli rabe and sausage). I try to venture out a bit on Arthur Ave, but I always end up back at MichaelAngelo's. read more

They set up the place really nicely. People felt like they were in an exotic place because of the great courtyard setting with the waterfall bar and tropical plants and not in the BX! We were staring at two idle chatting waiters the whole time. Finally we had to ask for the dessert menu. It took an additional total time of 25 minutes from completing the main course to finally obtaining a slice of cake and getting out of there. The women in charge which made it seem like we were going to have a spacious space including area to dance bunched two rows of tables for 35 people with limited space to walk or sit. There was a big group opposite side from our tables and she said oh they will be out a certain time and tables will be moved so we have the space she promised. 1 1/2 went by. We never got the space. The food was very not to taste. Strips of beef over cooked, Calamaris looked like small fried popcorn, chicken marsala bland no sauce. This is a drinks review only: I have been here twice for drinks and have found this to be the best happy hour spot in the neighborhood so far! They have a slew of specials, their back patio is huge and gorgeous and their bartenders are extremely friendly and attentive. The drinks themselves are nothing really to write home about, but this is definitely a better place to go for a cheap drink with friends than some of the places that might offer better choices (for example, Roberto's has great wine and cocktails, but is more expensive and less casual). Came here with my fiancé from the yelp ratings I read. The ambience was great, great atmosphere and service. The food was good but we had a few issues. We were never offered or even given bread in the beginning of our meal. As more customers showed up they were given the bread so that was kinda strange. The coke my fiancé ordered tasted like there was some rum or whiskey added. We thought it was the glass so we had them give us another glass but the same problem ensued. There was no alcohol but killed the coke flavor. We ordered the fettuccine Alfredo and lobster ravioli. Both were good. The tiramisu was amazing to end the meal. Tip: gratuity is already included when you get the bill. Overall the place is nice but I would look for a better place to eat. read more
