    Three Mac and cheese

The three mac and cheese and the loaded waffles fries is a must when you come here! This is one of our favorite places to go in east Tremont for some drinks and food!

Having grown up not too far from Throgg's Neck, I'm somewhat familiar with the restaurant scene on the E Tremont Ave strip. Brewski's is one of the many spots in the area, but one I had never been to prior to the other day. I had heard that they serve good food, and since my brothers and I were looking for dinner one of them suggested we go here - so off we went. Brewski's sits in a prime location on E Tremont Ave - walking in, you're immediately greeted by a large bar area with some seating to the left; additionally, they have an outdoor beer garden in the back. The bar is definitely the star of this place - it's the main focal point and the majority of the people there were sitting around it. The seating area has a decent amount of tables and a mini stage (they regularly book musicians). There's nothing too outstanding about the decor, it's typical bar with medium wood tones and TV screens throughout the space. I will say the interior can use a little freshening up - it's a little tired. They also really minimized the cleanup here - all plates, cups, and cutlery were plastic, and the menu was via QR code. I normally don't mind QR code menus, but the website was kinda choppy and I was struggling to browse (am I getting old?). On the surface, the menu is pretty standard bar food, however when I dove a bit deeper I found that they really had a great selection - like, standard sections (wraps, burgers, sandwiches, wings, etc.) but a great selection in each section. We decided to start with the buffalo chicken nachos; these were pretty good - they had a good helping of chicken and utilized cheese sauce in lieu of melted cheese which helped us divvy it up without any congealment. For my main I went with the Brewski Wrap which contained grilled chicken, bacon, cheddar, and fried onions with honey dijon mustard. The wrap itself was pretty good - it had a lot of chicken, but I was struggling to find the honey dijon mustard; the wrap was good but nothing outstanding. It came with fries which were a little wilted - I was hoping for something more crispy. Service was good - everyone we interacted with was really friendly. Overall, I thought Brewski's was pretty good - it's a super casual spot where you can get good bar food. This isn't my favorite way to dine so I'm not sure when I'll be back, but if circumstances found me here I wouldn't be disappointed.

Brewskis is hands down my favorite bar and grill. Been a customer for years and my kids approve. Not only is the food great but so are their drinks. There's always something new to experience on tap and their craft beer selection is always up to date with what's new and popular. Their beer garden is so beautiful and perfect for family gatherings or just hanging with friends or colleagues. Love that they bring live bands to play from time to time. The prices are reasonable considering how awesome the food is. The bartenders are awesome my favorite is Max hands down. Ladies if you're looking for some eye candy sit at the bar joking aside brewskis doesn't disappoint from breakfast all the way to dinner they have what you need and more. Consider brewskis for your next event ,date night, family night , or best friends night.

After powerful 1-hour exercise treks at the park, the only thing two of my coworkers and I have been doing is celebrate our accomplishments on Thursdays. The mood here is subdued especially by the time we get here at 4ish. I can definitely see this East Tremont spot getting down come evening. Parking on the main Ave is really difficult- just park on residential side streets for a better deal. Think of Brewski's as the place where if you'd lived closer like 'right around the corner', you'd be here every day. I know I would to grab Breakfast, Lunch AND Dinner! And if you're coming here to chill with a pint and watch a game on any of their TVs, enjoy that too because Brewski's is a sport-watchers paradise. Don't expect ordinary sports bar foods like Buffalo wings or nachos or just a plain cheese quesadillas as they mostly avoid clichés. Do expect though, Beer-Battered cheese curds drizzled in honey with fennel fronds (eyeing these) and a whole array of uncommon and tasty bites here. I don't drink beer, but these folks look like they can do a serious pour of it. My coworkers and I have done their boozy slushies one time and another time, they've done the pitcher of beer and I've had their mini bottle rosé poured table-side. You won't find bland food here- food is really thought of here and has really good, seasony taste. Brewski's is a cozy neighborhood pub. But, it's got an edge too.

taco Tuesday the beef is better than the chicken
    Sam A.

This was my first time here. The service was good. Max and Lauren was great and it was Lauren's first day and she has impeccable customer service skills. The food was good too. It was Taco Tuesday.. I liked the beef over the chicken. We ordered the chicken wrap that had the Irish cheddar cheese. I found the cheese to be a lil over powering but the wrap itself was delicious. My friend had the mac n cheese with the shredded bbq pork.. OMG that was amaze balls. The appetizer that consists of a tostones sandwich with pernil in it was sooooo good. Whoever is cooking that pernil in the kitchen knows what doing. It was very flavorful, moist and juicy. We also had wings.. they were ok nothing to rave about.. a lil dry for my liking. The drinks were good too. They have soooo many options for slushie alcoholic beverages. They also have happy hour from 2pm to 6pm so that was great. The ambiance was chill. I feel it's a typical sports bar. There were TVs all over the place. The outside seating area is massive. I wouldn't want to be there on a crowded/ busy day.

Our table was sooo wobbly I thought it would fall on us. Lol.. lord. We had to move to the outside covered tent like. Looks like a big park picnic area with camp tables. Spot was pretty empty. Looks like a spot to hang out for a sports night. Food is mediocre coffee was yuck. No wonder this place was empty on a Friday afterwork. Music needs upgrading FAST. Some kids running all over the place.

I've been coming to brewskies since 2015 (when I came home from college) and I haven't stopped since. Before Covid, brewskies was THE spot to pregame with my group of friends. Aside from their affordable drinks, they also had live DJ. Their food is also yummy and they have/had (not sure now) Wing Wednesday and burger specials. Highly recommend coming here for a laid back, affordable, and your typical American pub food. Also you must try their Quaranfreezies (2 will have you feeling amazing!!)

Love this place. Huge spot really good food and a huge selection of beers. They have a huge outdoor area which is nice too. Also the bartenders and waitresses provide great service!

You won't be disappointed coming here for just the environment. There are a lot of TVs everywhere, definitely a good sports bar / gastropub for a small group. Although I can't speak for the drinks, the food was hit or miss for me. The sandwich I ordered was really hard to eat since it was tough and chewy like it was stale. Despite that, the fries that came with my order were excellent! The staff was the absolute highlight of this place, everyone was friendly and occasionally asked if we were fine and needed anything. Just for the service alone I am definitely coming back to check out their other menu items, they have a huge selection that contains both American and Mexican dishes as well as a lot of hand crafted cocktails.

The chef comes from the world of high-end NYC dining, and you can feel that experience in every detail of the food. There's a level of creativity, precision, and thoughtfulness here that honestly feels Michelin-worthy. This makes sense, because the restaurant has earned that recognition. Beyond the food, Archie's also has one of the best Scotch and whiskey (bourbon and rye included) selections anywhere in the area. It feels curated by people who genuinely care about food and drink, not just running another restaurant. We eat there often, especially for brunch, which is spectacular and consistently better than it has any right to be for a neighborhood spot on City Island. The best example of the attention to detail was the chopped cheese sandwich special. When it arrived, my first thought was: "How is anyone supposed to eat this giant thing?" But then you take a bite and realize the bread was custom made specifically for the sandwich. Somehow it completely melts in your mouth along with the meat and cheese, making this enormous sandwich unexpectedly delicate and perfectly balanced. It's the kind of detail most restaurants would never even think about. Archie's is a true hidden gem and proof that truly exceptional food can exist in places you wouldn't expect.

I got fried chicken wings and pork fried rice-- a staple and a great barometer. The chicken was fried to perfection and looked good to the eye, the crunch was excellent, but the flavor was no where to be found. Zero seasoning. Is this how it is all the time, or was this a glitch?? Sadly, I will never know because this was a one and done. The rice was good, it saved the day. They also leave the sauces out for you to take as many as you need--maybe I should have taken that as a hint.

The food was done within 15-20 minutes and we loved everything we ordered. Everything tasted authentically Cantonese, not spiced or super flavorful. Just your basic, comfort food. Exactly what we needed on our drive home. This place is located in an okay neighborhood area, but we didn't have time to sit down and eat. There's limited seating. We saw a lot of people waiting for takeout. The food was so hot and tasty when we picked it up. We got: BEEF TERIYAKI STICKS So tasty, cooked well with a slight char to it and seasoned enough to give it flavor, but nothing overwhelming. CRAB RANGOON These were so crispy and creamy, so freaking good with lots of crab and cream cheese with every bite. FRIED CHICKEN WINGS These chicken wings were GOOOOD! Perfectly fried crispy outside and juicy chicken inside. The flavoring of the outside was very flavorful and made every bite so satisfying. Wish we got an additional order! SAUTÉED STRING BEANS This is a comfort food for me, just your basic green beans sautéed in super light soy sauce and garlic. YUMMMM! BEEF CHOW FUN Another comfort food of stir fried beef and bean sprouts. So tasty and the rice noodles were perfectly fried and chewy. PORK FRIED RICE This pork fried rice was super tasty, but different. The rice was more pilaf which I absolutely loved and there was so much barbecued pork in it. Wasn't saturated in soy sauce which is how it normally comes, a really light and tasty fried rice. HOT & SOUR SOUP I love hot and sour soup and this was sooo good. It wasn't too sour, flavored and spiced just enough to check all the boxes and left me wanting another bowl full! Spent over $50 and got a free 2-Liter soda too! Will definitely stop by this place again on my future drives through or to NY!!!

There are some dedicated parking spaces that have a three hour limit if dining. Upon arrival, I entered the inside restaurant space for Dakota's on the Grove. It was aesthetically pleasing. I should have sat inside here instead of in their outdoor space which they call The Grove at Dakota's. I was able to choose where I wanted to sit, so I chose a table near this shed where the bartender/waiter was. I noticed they were setting up for the Knicks Game 3 final and there were two large TVs and a projection screen. I overheard the waiter state that the area would be packed for the game tonight. There was also good music playing throughout. They had a large connect four, which would be nice to play. They are family friendly and had high chairs for babies and toddlers. When sitting outside they state that they have to preauthorize your card. Now getting onto the food. I was seated and provided with two menus. I immediately asked for a happy hour menu and then I waited for about 15 minutes, until I followed up with another waiter who brought out the menu for me. For the happy hour menu before I received my food I initially thought the prices were good, but upon receiving my food it was evident that the prices are off in terms of the portion size of the food. I ordered a $5 slider. I thought it would be a decent size. It was incredibly small. For the $5 price they should give at minimum 2 sliders but ideally 3. This would incentivize people to buy more. The slider was the best thing I tasted while there and I would have liked more but I couldn't justify spending another $5 when it was so tiny. The tiny slider appeared to be the portion size for a toddler. I ordered calamari which was $9. I was initially disappointed that there was such a small amount. I was even more disappointed when I tasted them. They tasted very "fishy." They absolutely needed a squeeze of lemon and fresh cracked black pepper to try and balance and mask the taste. I believe the portion size for the fries was also off for $5. The fries came in a teacup. Fries are something that people tend to order to have something to pick at while dining and it would make sense I think to provide more fries for the same price. I also could not justify getting another set of fries in a small teacup for $5. I did not like the taste of the fries. When the sparse calamari, tiny beef slider, and small teacup of fries came out, I realized I would not be full and ordered chicken wings from the happy hour menu. You have to get a minimum of 6. You cannot mix the flavors. They were out of the dockside fire sauce so I went with the garlic parm. These wings did not taste like garlic parm. The garlic parm seemed like an afterthought, which was just sprinkled on the wings at the very end. The chicken itself did not have much flavor. They did not mention providing any dipping sauce. I asked for blue cheese and I had to wait for about ten minutes and then remind another waiter that I was still waiting for my blue cheese. They were out of the mozzarella sticks. Moving onto the drinks. While I get being outside and maybe wanting to serve drinks in plastic to minimize glassware breaking, I did not enjoy being served Pinot Noir in a plastic cup or the white cranberry lemon drop in a plastic cup. Each time I was taken aback that they weren't offered in glassware. I got the $7 Pinot Noir from the happy hour menu. A regular glass of Pinot Noir is $9. I also ordered the white cranberry lemon drop which is priced at $12 and is not included on the happy hour menu. The drink came out in the same sized small plastic cup as the Pinot Noir. I think once again that glassware should be used. When ordering a lemon drop you tend to expect a chilled frosty glass with a sugar rim, and that was not what I received here. I think the sugar rim would have elevated the taste profile of the drink. All in all, I really liked the outdoor area. I would probably only return to get a canned beer in the outside section. I hope they start to carry some sour beer options. I do not see myself trying the food again, with the exception of a burger (since the burger was really good.) I did have an inquiry regarding the pre-authorization charge and the final charge that I saw on my credit card. I called and left a message and the restaurant got back to me quickly, which I really appreciated.

The restaurant itself is attractive, bright, spacious, and decidedly upscale. Although we had made a reservation, it really wasn't necessary on a weekday. Despite the restaurant being nearly empty, it took quite a while for our server to acknowledge us and take our order. A few more minutes and we were prepared to leave. My dining companion ordered the hamburger, while I chose the Cubano sandwich. Both dishes were attractively presented and quite tasty. The food was definitely the highlight of the experience. Our primary disappointment was the service. The server never formally welcomed us or introduced herself. Given the Bally's brand and the restaurant's upscale appearance, I expected a more polished level of hospitality. Obtaining our check was also a lengthy process. At one point, our server appeared engaged in conversation with the bartender, then walked past our table and disappeared into the kitchen for several minutes. Upon her return, I had to raise my hand to get her attention. To be fair, she was pleasant and courteous, but she wasn't particularly attentive--especially considering that we appeared to be her only active table. I had noticed similar comments about inconsistent service in previous reviews and assumed they reflected busy weekend conditions. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case during our visit. Take Archie's and Ohana- that aren't completely 'OG'- caliber- but, have remained a staple for the last 8-9 years. Now, it's Frida's turn. Since it was my turn to pick a restaurant for an outing to spend some sister time, Frida's low-key feel seemed like a good fit. Located on the southbound(?) lane heading towards the water, Little Frida has a nice light-color charm with a couple of turquoisey outdoor tables, two tables inside and some window high-top seating. The design is more trendy and subdued than the colorful and classic style seen in a lot of a Mexican restaurants. The menu is simple and basic- with burgers added to the mix and no cocktail situation- just conventional and Mexican soft drinks like Jarritos and some agua frescas. Our server Nazaret, brought us a nice helping of thick tortilla chips- the way I like them instead of the flimsy ones that break just by looking at them with Guacamole and Salsa dips. The Guacamole was better tasting than the large tomato chunk salsa in my opinion. Our drinks were plentiful- but between Agua de Jamaica(s) that were ordered and my horchata, they missed on flavors. My Shrimp Tacos were packed real nice with.... diced tomatoes, purple cabbage (yum), onions, etc- with cut up shrimp. Good though. All the other dishes my sisters ordered, seemed ok. We enjoyed the green sauce Nazaret brought us and it wasn't tear-inducing at all- which we all tolerated on each of our dishes. To finish things off, our server brought a shareable slice of a flan from his Abuelita's recipe that had all the right notes of creamy, rich and a wonderful amber-sugar-caramel taste. We all dogged it. Frida is very modest, service is super nice, these folks make their own tortillas- and food is flavorful.

He took the time to explain certain items on the menu when we had questions. The menu had a lot of delicious items, it was hard for me to choose but I ended up getting 3 tacos, some guac & of course churros for dessert! The guac was some of the freshest guac I've had in a while! The portion was pretty large too! I got the chicken, steak & el pastor tacos. They were SOOOOO stuffed. For $12, I was shocked and so satisfied. They also make their tortillas from scratch which made them even more unique and delicious! The green salsa was sooo tasty. Especially on the chicken and steak tacos. The el pastor was cooked perfectly and had pineapples too which balanced the flavor so well. The churros were delicious and came with a Nutella dipping sauce. Deff worth a visit!

It was very bland, and I could tell that the patty came from the supermarket, specifically from Butterball. It was really unappetizing. There was no seasoning on the patty--only sauce, which couldn't mask the poor taste. Additionally, he mentioned that the customer service was not pleasant. The staff refused to give him chicken fingers for our daughter because they were dine-in only, which seems so strange. Overall, I definitely won't be ordering from here again.

The gyro was pre sliced and most likely frozen before cooked. The tzatziki sauce was not very good and lacked flavor. The slamdog bites were wrapped in thin cucumber. The cucumber was soggy and slimy. I had to take off the cucumber. They also came with their novelty house sauce which is pictured. It looks chunky and spoiled and did not try it as I do not want to get sick. Overall really bad experience and will not try again. This is a shame as I like supporting local restaurants.
