    Squash and Penne Pasta
    Jose L.

I came to this restaurant after my girlfriend had told me about seeing this restaurant mentioned somewhere. It combines the idea of a wine bar and adds a little Caribbean twist. The restaurant has a small parking lot that fits a couple of cars. However, there is also ample street parking around, so parking is not an issue here. The interior of the business is small with a few tables inside, however the decorations are elegant inside. If you prefer to dine al fresco, they do have a back patio that looked nice from the doorway. There is also a small bar seating area inside, as soon as you walk in through the door. To start our dining experience, we ordered a Peach Spritzer and a glass of Centorri Moscato. The Peach Spritzer was surprisingly good! The drink had a small amount of fizz to it and peach flavor all throughout. The Peach Spritzer is definitely on the sweet side and I loved the touch of nectar that was at the bottom of the glass. It gave the drink more body. The Centorri Moscato was also pretty good. It is a sweet wine. For appetizers we ordered the Ackee & Saltfish Spring Rolls and the Pineapple Habanero Wings. I loved the concept of combining a typical Caribbean dish into a spring roll, however, the Ackee & Saltfish could have had more flavor. The sauce that came with the spring rolls were good, but the appetizer could have been elevated if there was something to add more flavor inside the rolls. The Pineapple Habanero Wings were pretty good. There were pineapple chunks on top of the sauce that was on the wings. The sauce itself was not spicy, but it was sweet. Lastly, we ordered the Squash and Penne Pasta. It did take a while for the pasta to come out, but when it did, it was fresh out of the kitchen and steamy. The chef even came out and talked to us and she was really nice. That little touch really helped out in our experience. The pasta itself was pretty good and did taste like squash. I did notice that as the bites went on, the pasta tasted even better and the sauce started to become creamier. Perhaps this is one of those dishes that taste better as the flavors begin to settle. I just wish the wines that they served were a bit better priced. While looking at the menu, I noticed that some of the wines had a significant markup in price compared to what I would find them for at wine shops. I understand that a markup is necessary for all that a restaurant needs to thrive, but the wine prices could have been fairer. I also wish that they had olives on their menu as a stand-alone option. Overall, I liked this place. It seems like a nice place to come to if you just want to have wine and some charcuterie. I saw that other patrons had just charcuterie and wine, so that is an option that I would love to explore.

Our experience was AMAZING! The ambiance is beautiful and the food is even better. My goodness!! we ordered the Teriyaki Beef Meatballs for an appetizer, Red Sangria, 1730 White Wine Pasta and the Steak with Chilli drizzle. Let me share that the food was served the perfect temperature and absolutely delicious!!!! I mean delicious. Thee Red Sangria and White Wine Pasta will have me coming back again....Again....AGAIN. The meatballs (so juicy and flavorful with the perfect amount of sauce and sesame seeds) were served with 2 slices of garlic bread that were flavorful. When the entrees came to the table, our mouths dropped. I mean we were drooling. LoL!!!! Because we knew it wasn't going to disappoint. I ordered the 1730 pasta which is really "Rasta pasta". It was made fresh with onions, Tri-colored peppers, jerk chicken breast and penne pasta in a creamy yet delicious white sauce. This is now....considered my favorite Rasta Pasta. I'm going back and re-ordering every time. My husband ordered the steak with mixed vegetables (fresh cut string beans, cauliflower and broccoli) and mashed potatoes. He fell in love at the first bite of the steak. Not only did it cut like butter, but it had a hint of spice. Which he loves! I ate a piece and thought about suya. It was well seasoned and enjoyed. The mashed potatoes had chunks of potatoes and red skin inside. I love a chunky mashed potato.

1730 Wine Bar is a new restaurant that opened mid September & it's obvious there is a disconnect between the servers & kitchen because my family & I experience tonight was horrible. The restaurant has parking, but parking is tight , it's about 5 spaces, so my family & I just parked on the street. The wine bar offers indoor & outdoor seating which everyone sat outdoors tonight, my party included. Once seated our waiter came over a few minutes later asking if we would like to start off with water, which one of my sisters said "do you have sparkling water" & the waiter replied "I believe so, let me check". He left & came back & said "yes" so my sister had that. For appetizers we ordered the pineapple habanero wings, mac & cheese, veggie spring rolls & meatballs with jerk sauce. The wings, veggie spring rolls & mac & cheese were good. The meatballs were the small pre cooked meatballs & they just put jerk sauce on top & they were cool when they came out, not hot. We also ordered a bottle of wine, but was told it wasn't chilled & will take a few minutes & received a glass from a bottle that was open on the house. For entrees (this is where it all went down hill & never climbed up hill) my sister in law ordered a burger that was served on coco bread (odd pairing, but ok) one of my sisters ordered a pear & arugula salad, my other sister ordered salmon & I ordered steak medium well. For the salmon & steak it's listed as "served with the chefs choice of sides" which we asked "what are the sides" the waiter said coconut rice & green beans. My sister said ok, that's fine, but I asked if there is anything else because I'm not a fan of either & the waiter said "let me check" he than came back & said "we have asparagus & roasted potatoes" & I said "ok, I'll take that". Immediately after getting our appetizers, my sister in law received her burger which everyone knows is a no no. The purpose of appetizers is to hold you over a little until you get your entree & entrees shouldn't be served unless the whole tables entrees are ready. We digressed. A few moments later my steak comes out. It's very well done & had a extremely smoky flavor to it. It was absolutely disgusting. I've been to 5 star steak houses & know how steak is suppose to taste & this isn't it. My sisters salmon was over cooked & burnt on top & my sister in law's coco bread for her burger was also burnt. Smh we are still sitting here wondering where is my other sisters salad which is the quickest to prepare & we asked our server which he replied "it's a lot going on in the kitchen & I'll check & see what's happening". The waiter was gone about 10-15 mins & by this time we were just ready to go. When the sever came back he had the salad in his hand, but we just asked for the check & said never mind on the salad. When the waiter than came back with the check, he had the bottle of wine in a bag, which we thought initially was complimentary due to it never arriving while we had our meal, but upon looking at the receipt it was a charge, which we said "you can take back the wine & this off our bill". The waiter was polite, however the service was horrible & the servers & cooks need to be on the same page. Once you open doors for a business you need to be ready & most importantly prepared. Even having the long wait, if the food was delicious, this review would be different, but even the food isn't up to par 100%.

I came to the Wine Bar today to check it out. Sitting outside. Lovely atmosphere. Lovely outdoors. The Chardonnay Is very nice and I'm still hanging to it. The staff is super attentive and very nice. You should check it out.

This is my new spot! The staff was very attentive, especially given my dietary restrictions. It is really refreshing when you realize the staff are really paying attention to your needs. Mckeila was our server and she had a beautiful smile every time she came to our table. Dawn at the bar was very knowledgeable about the wines they serve, I went with a Chilean Cabernet and loved it. The outdoor garden area is lovely, the choice of plants and arrangements is right on par with any posh cafe you might see in NYC. Wings were hands down the crispiest I have ever had. Flatbread was simply delicious. The place is owner operated, so you know that they are extra invested in the success of the business. Cheers to 1730 Wine Bar! We'll see you again next week.

This is the gem within Mount Vernon. My coconut shrimp with mango sauce, mac&cheese and rose wine were scrumptious. I eat out often and I like that their prices are reasonable. This was good service with good food. I will be stopping in for their happy hour this week.

    Tuxedo Cake

The food was great. I had the Tuscan salmon that was moist and well seasoned. The service was 10/10. The young lady was very polite and welcoming and as for the ambiance, it's nicely lit with indoor and outdoor seats. The location is also convenient with free parking. As for this cake it was delicious! Moist and done to perfection.

This restaurant has unique, delicious food with a nice garden in the back when the weather is warm plus great music! I highly recommend it!

Went with two of my girlfriends and we sat outside on the patio. There are two lovely fire pits. And covering that kept us dry from the light rain. The service was on point. The food and wine selections are lovely. Can't wait to return!

Second visit and food was equally as good. Atmosphere was divine and the owner (Donna) stopped by the table to make sure all was well. Even the chef stopped by to make sure we were pleased. Happy hour (4pm-6pm M-F) has decent prices, house wine (Papi) was favorable and the outdoor experience is beautiful....literally forgot I was in Mount Vernon. This made for a nice quick date night with hubby right in our own backyard.

Words can't describe how good this burger was. Fries? Soooo crispy!! You won't regret! Great selection of wines. Amazing outside area

The food was AMAZING, the atmosphere was spectacular and the company was everything. Thank you chef (nephew) Bryan for a wonderful experience. I will DEFINITELY be back!

Dawn's 1730 Burger on deck!! So far the salad was AMAZING as were the naked wings and meatballs in white wine sauce

A Chic Culinary Gem in the Heart of Yonkers…read more If you're looking for a spot where the energy is high, the crowd is trendy, and the food is artfully executed, Zuppa in Yonkers is an absolute must-visit. From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere grabs you--it's upbeat and lively, fueled by a playlist of infectious, danceable house music that sets the perfect tone for a night out. Our evening was a masterclass in Italian-inspired dining, supported by a waitstaff that was consistently attentive without being overbearing. The Starters: Fresh & Crispy We kicked things off with the Calamari Salad, and it was nothing short of fabulous. The calamari had that elusive, "just right" amount of crunch, and I was impressed by how fast it arrived at the table. Even better? The portion was incredibly generous, making it a perfect shareable plate. Following that, the Caesar Salad arrived. While a staple at many restaurants, Zuppa's version stood out for its beautiful presentation--shaved parmesan and crisp greens arranged with real care. The Main Course: Flavor Over Everything For the entrees, we explored both land and sea: * Salmon over Quinoa: This dish was a standout for its flavor profile. The salmon was perfectly cooked and bathed in a bright, vibrant citrus sauce that paired beautifully with the nutty quinoa. My only minor critique is that the portion felt a bit small compared to the other hearty dishes, but the taste certainly made up for it. * Butternut Squash Risotto: A seasonal dream. The sauce was delicately seasoned, providing a smooth, velvety coating over the perfectly al dente risotto. It was comforting yet sophisticated. The Grand Finale: Dessert Excellence If you have a sweet tooth, Zuppa is your paradise. We sampled two desserts, and both were elite: 1. Chocolate Brownie with Salted Caramel Gelato: Simply exquisite. The richness of the brownie against the salty-sweet chill of the gelato created a perfect balance. 2. New York Cheesecake: Classic, creamy, and delicious. It was the ideal way to round out a high-energy meal. The Verdict~ Zuppa strikes that rare balance between a "scene" and a serious culinary destination. Whether you're there for the trendy vibes and the music or the expertly prepared seafood and pasta, you're in for a treat.

Unfortunately, he was extremely dismissive and simply said no, then added that there were no tables available for us--which was odd considering the group right after us got seated immediately. I'm not sure if it was how we were dressed or what, but his overall attitude felt very cold and unwelcoming. We ended up sitting at the bar, and to be fair, Bill did help coordinate with the bartender Ana to get us seats together, which I appreciated. Ana herself was kind and attentive, though when we asked for food recommendations, she mostly just said "everything is great." I personally prefer a bit more honest guidance. For food, we shared the Hot Honey Roni Sicilian, Caesar salad, and calamari fritti. The pizza was definitely the highlight--super delicious and satisfying, especially as my first time trying that style. The Caesar salad was good, but for $16, I found the portion a bit small. The calamari was also solid, though we didn't love the sauce it came with. While we were eating, Bill noticed where we had placed our bikes (near the stairs where we could keep an eye on them) and came over rather abruptly, asking why they were in "his garden." Even after my friend apologized, he just walked away. His overall presence throughout the visit really hurt the experience--definitely not the kind of hospitality you expect. Overall, the experience was okay. The drinks were good, and my friend and I always make the best of things, but for the price point (about $80 each with two drinks and tip), I expected better service and slightly more generous portions. I'd consider going back, especially if we're biking in the area again--but next time, we'll definitely bring bike locks...and avoid the garden
