Had an early dinner at La Lanterna and absolutely loved it. The outdoor patio is beautiful--lush, shaded, and feels like a hidden escape rather than Yonkers. The baked clams and mussels were outstanding, and the crusty bread was perfect for soaking up every drop of sauce. I added jalapeños to the Snow White pizza and it was incredible. The dough had the perfect chew and flavor. My boyfriend's chicken parm was massive--two huge cutlets--and easily a 10/10. The seafood pasta was equally delicious. Dessert was the perfect finish: frozen espresso, refreshing lemon sorbet, and a giant tiramisu that's big enough for a crowd. My only small complaint is that guests pack their own leftovers. At this level, I think the staff should handle that. Otherwise, everything was fantastic. We'll definitely be back! read more

My friend and I stopped by La Lanterna on April 12, 2026 during a long bike ride for lunch. We didn't have bike locks with us, so I went inside to ask the manager, Bill, if we could leave our bikes in the (closed) patio area since we were worried about them being stolen. Unfortunately, he was extremely dismissive and simply said no, then added that there were no tables available for us--which was odd considering the group right after us got seated immediately. I'm not sure if it was how we were dressed or what, but his overall attitude felt very cold and unwelcoming. We ended up sitting at the bar, and to be fair, Bill did help coordinate with the bartender Ana to get us seats together, which I appreciated. Ana herself was kind and attentive, though when we asked for food recommendations, she mostly just said "everything is great." I personally prefer a bit more honest guidance. For food, we shared the Hot Honey Roni Sicilian, Caesar salad, and calamari fritti. The pizza was definitely the highlight--super delicious and satisfying, especially as my first time trying that style. The Caesar salad was good, but for $16, I found the portion a bit small. The calamari was also solid, though we didn't love the sauce it came with. While we were eating, Bill noticed where we had placed our bikes (near the stairs where we could keep an eye on them) and came over rather abruptly, asking why they were in "his garden." Even after my friend apologized, he just walked away. His overall presence throughout the visit really hurt the experience--definitely not the kind of hospitality you expect. Overall, the experience was okay. The drinks were good, and my friend and I always make the best of things, but for the price point (about $80 each with two drinks and tip), I expected better service and slightly more generous portions. Delicious as usual. We got the very last spot in the parking spot and on this Saturday they were having a private party. The hostess asked us if we could go by 4 which honestly I love the honesty and the ability to try and work with us. I said absolutely we have to catch a movie. It was 3 pm at the time. We got out by 3:47 could have been earlier even but we were waiting for the check. Service was really good though. Ambiance is great in there. I used to exclusively go here only in spring and enjoy the outdoor space. I've gone multiple times now in winter. They have nice flowers and art inside which is very nice to enjoy. For food we got the stuffed Sicilian, delicious. Then for entrees we got the pasta your way. We did penne alla vodka and added a crispy chicken cutlet. Their cutlets are nice and thin and crispy. Their dinners are always perfect. So yesterday was my birthday and my wife and my sister asked me what would I like to do and I said we have to go to La lanterns the food is totally awesome as usual. This place has been all over my Tik Tok, especially their outdoor seating area, so you know I HAD to try it out and I dragged my sister with me. From what I could see the outdoor area is really nice - we decided it was too hot to sit out but I definitely would like to go back as the weather cools down. We ordered meatballs, chopped salad and a pizza with mushrooms and onions. I wanted pasta too but didn't order it so it will give me a reason to come back lol. We came here for the beer garden, but could not secure a table outside with our reservation, as there seemed to be a lot of rules about reservations. The waitress was really nice and patient, as it was really loud making it hard to hear and we were a large party. The garlic pull apart bread was my favorite! Doughy and gooey but with a little crunch and LOTS of garlic. The stuffed Sicilian was also good. Overall the portions were large. Everyone seemed to enjoy their meals. Desserts were okay. Fun for birthdays, as they have a big fake cake with a sparkler. If you bring a cake, I believe there is a cake cutting fee. read more

I love this place!!!!! It's been on my list for a long time so finally was able to go. The place is truly off the beaten path of the Saw Mill Pathway! It's lovely and such a nice ambiance. Since it's basically winter, the outside was closed but it looked like it would be vibey during the warmer months. The food was soooo good. I don't eat seafood but everyone recommends the clams. Wow! What a gem to find. This is exactly what we'd hoped to find to celebrate a beautiful sunny Saturday afternoon. The al fresco dining ambience is unmatched and I would say a can't miss experience if you're ever in the area. The food was very tasty ranging from unforgettable to solid mid. The lobster ravioli is what caught my eye when looking up the place but the meatball appetizer is what has me still drooling as I write this review! The service was friendly and helpful, though the bussing could have been a little quicker since we struggled to fit all the dishes on the table. We had been going to La Lanterna for years and then life just got busy. We live sort of far. Anyway, for my bday I wanted a La Lanterna dinner. Our service was friendly and accommodating. Our food was very good. As always. For me, I typically get chicken parm, but changed it up and tried the pinwheel lasagna. It wasn't bad, but I wouldn't order it again. The top was definitely not have a crispy top layer or pecorino romano cheese on top like the pics. But, that being said. Everyone at my table had gotten their food and mine was about 10 minutes later. So I think they rushed mine out after I brought it to their attention. We ate inside, because it was too hot out, but I'd love to get back on the patio another night. Definitely make reservations for inside. The reviews are amazing and their pastas looked incredible so decided to go out of my way to get some food to go. First off, super impressed with the customer service. I called ahead to place the order and waited 15 mins to go in and somehow when I arrived they didn't have the order (things happen) they were so apologetic and got the order to me very quickly and even brought it outside to me which was above and beyond service. I will always remember that as someone who wasn't feeling good! The food: definitely worth the drive. Got the Lamache Lala Vodka and wow, it was super fresh and delicious. I expected more after seeing the reviews. The food was good, but for a pizza & pasta type place, not a good Italian restaurant. The earliest reservation I could get was 745 on a Friday yet 1/3 of the tables were empty when we got there. Then with all their rules you would think it was some exclusive establishment. If you cancel your reservation you will be charged, if you want an outside table they don't take reservations and you have to cancel your inside table when you arrive or you can't get on the outside list. You can't order appetizers and then your main course. It all has to be ordered together. Then to top it off, the service was horrible. The waiter spoke almost no English and barely spoke at all. He never checked on the table and we had to ask for EVERYTHING like bread, cheese, water..., then he would drop it on the table as he passed by. He had no clue about the menu and just shrugged at questions. My wife asked for a side salad and he couldn't figure out what she meant so she said forget it. Our food was dropped off by someone else and nobody ever came by to see if everything was OK or if we needed anything. We had to flag down someone for another drop off. Because of this we were never able to get a second drink and decided to skip dessert and flag down a checked - which was dropped on the table by the waiter. No "thank you", not a word. Pretty restaurant tucked away on a side street off of the Saw Mill. Parking is a bit challenging as their lot is small, but managed to find some street parking. Bar area is crowded and restaurant itself isn't huge, but has nice area for larger tables. Drinks were pretty good. Food was really delicious and had large portions. The pasta to meat ratio was a little off though (more pasta please!). Service was on the slower side, but not terrible. A little pricey, but I'd say the food was worth it. Came here Friday with some friends who were raving about the food . I have to say the food was so absolutely delicious & elevated. The presentation of the dishes did not disappoint. The aromas just slapped you in the face as the dishes came out . I had the chopped cherry stone clams & the Lamonica spaghetti & I was so impressed with the level of cooking. Mind you we eat out quite a lot so that was no easy feat . The food was so good that we were tasting each other's dishes because we just had to lol . Our server was Javier who was also excellent and very accommodating. The ambience was beautiful like the day . This place is definitely a new found gem for us and close to home so we'll definitely be going back in fact I'm talking to my wife about going back today lol . One of my favorite places to eat in the area. Everything is so delicious !! The stuffed Sicilian was to die for - I added pepperoni and holy cow !! I could eat an entire pizza to myself (it's definitely enough for 3 people it's just that good!) Their baked clams are also so yummy ! The vodka lobster pasta is my favorite entree but I would eat everything off the menu. We didn't have to wait long for any of our food despite it being busy. The ambiance is beautiful during a warm night. The outside garden is gorgeous and there is an outdoor fireplace. Parking can be annoying because they only have a small lot and there isn't much street parking but that isn't enough to deter me from coming here. My salad was topped with Salmon. It was delicious. I also ordered the cheesy garlic bread for us to share. That is a must have!! The atmosphere was great, the food was great, the music was great. Just because we were being greedy, we ordered the tiramisu for two. That honestly could have been shared by four, so some of it went to waste. When in the area, I will definitely return. Big portions served at this well known Italian American restaurant which has been in the community for years. They have a lovely outdoor patio, where you can dine al fresco . Lots of Instagram photo ops in the outdoor area. Although I requested outdoors, I rethought that decision considering the current heat wave we've been having. I updated my Resy for indoor dining. It was a little warm inside but nothing unbearable. It would have been more comfortable had it been cooler, but it was an oppressively hot day. Our waiter was friendly as was the host who greeted us when we walked inside . We were given a nice table and proceeded to review the menu before ordering. We opted for the pitcher of white sangria with peaches. For the three of us, this was a better deal than ordering by the glass, which was $10 but the pitcher was $36 or $37. I don't remember exactly but we each winded up with three glasses of sangria so definitely get the Pitcher. Bread is available on request and since we were ordering meals, that would go well with bread we asked for it . it was sort of warm with a softened butter on the side. very nice. The chicken Parm bites were delicious. The chicken was cooked perfectly. The vodka sauce was yummy and the portion was big. It was a generous size for the three of us. Our next appetizer was char grilled oysters with I believe a cream sauce, spinach, and some tiny bits of lobster on top. They were OK. I opted for the pork schnitzel which was served with a warm German style potato salad, and cucumber salad with dill and sour cream . The cutlet was massive, and I could only eat a small portion after consuming some of the appetizers. It reheated well the next day. The spicy vodka lobster over their handmade pasta is spicy . There was one very small lobster tail, and a few small shrimp as indicated in the description of the menu. The menu described small shrimp, but did not say how many ounces the lobster tail was? Maybe 2-3 oz? It was small but tasty. Lastly Mom ordered the soft shell crabs over pasta francese style. She loved the sauce. She said it was very good, but the softshell crabs were chewy. My parents owned a fish market for many years so mom knows her seafood very well. I would like to return when the weather is a little cooler and enjoy the outside dining area. read more
