So happy I finally made a reservation here! My cousin and I came here on a Wednesday night and were seated right away. She had been here multiple times and this was my first so she suggested we order the Bodega Salad. Perfect amount of lettuce to meat ratio. Now I know why it's so popular! For my entree I ordered the angoletti. It was divine! Note- we didn't order any drinks or dessert but would definitely try on my next visit!

Small cozy little restaurant with amazing food and great service. Such a great experience! My sister and I came to celebrate our husbands' birthdays and the Sunday dinner at ODO was amazing. Maria made sure we were taken care of. She was very attentive and so welcoming. Like going to your family's house for dinner. Everything was spectacular. The homemade mozzarella and focaccia bread. The mustard greens were amazing! The ribeye was ridiculous! Seriously so tender you didn't need a knife and the sauce was delicious too. We enjoyed the food, the attention and nice warm atmosphere. Cannot wait to return.

I was first alerted to ODO by my mother who had read about it in Westchester Magazine. My first thought was, okay it's yet another Italian spot in Westchester, but after one of my friends also talked it up I started to pay more attention. Since I hadn't seen my friend in a while, we thought coming to ODO was the perfect opportunity to catch up and check this new place out - so off we went. ODO sits on Main St in Tuckahoe - the restaurant has a small exterior which extended inside. This is not a big spot at all - it's narrow with maybe like 10 or so tables and bar seating towards the back. The interior is simply decorated - lots of wood tones everywhere with pops of decor and quirky art on the walls. The restaurant was also louder than I expected, but it kinda fit into the aesthetic - this is not a traditional red sauce Italian spot; it's more modern and focuses on Abruzzese cuisine. The menu is not large, but they have a good selection separated by small plates, starters, pasta, mains, and sides - additionally they had a few specials. We got drinks and I chose the Mona Lisa (Campari and pineapple juice) - it was smooth and refreshing. We then decided to start with three apps: the scarpetta (house bread), the bodega salad, and the palotte cacio pepe. The scarpetta was good - the bread had a light sprinkle of salt, and the vesta sauce it was paired with was a good complement without being too rich or overpowering. I really liked the bodega salad - our server described it as an Italian combo without the bread and that's exactly what it was - shreds of iceberg, meats and cheeses in a tasty dressing. I appreciated the fact that it was not too salty - something that could have easily happened given all the cold cuts. I wasn't a fan of the palotte cacio pepe - the texture didn't sit right with me and I didn't find the cheese in the middle to be as gooey as I would like; the sauce that it was topped with didn't provide much flavor either. I decided on pasta for my main, and went with the lumache which was paired with lobster, lemon, and oregano. I really liked the dish - the pasts was super al dente which I loved, and there was a generous portion of lobster incorporated into the dish. The lemon and oregano were subtle but just enough to add to the dish without overpowering it. Pasta is really an indulgence treat for me, and they definitely made spending my discretionary calories worth it. For dessert we split two of their selections: pizelle with Nutella and a blueberry budino. The pizelle were made like sandwiches with the Nutella in the middle. I love Nutella and I love pizelle, but sandwiching them made the pizelle a little soft - I like them nice and crispy (I still ate them of course ;-). The budino was fine too - the blueberries added a nice sweetness to the dish. Service was good - everyone we interacted with was really friendly, and all the food came out at a good pace. Overall, I had a great first experience at ODO - Italian restaurant competition is tough in Westchester, but they served creative dishes made with fresh ingredients. I would definitely return if given the opportunity.

What a treat! I got to experience this restaurant on Saturday night and can't wait to go back! Our waitress, Maria, was a doll. She explained every entrée and appetizer on the menu and told us what the favorites were. We started with the Scarpetta appetizer And the speducc. The speducc was extremely tasty and the lamb was tender and flavorful. Now for the Scarpetta... it was an amazing focaccia with some char on the outside and this wonderful Buttery herbed sauce for dipping. Amazing! For entrées, we ordered the brasciole with gnocchi and the pasta Bolognese. The brasciole was tender and really delicious in a nice pool of homemade sauce... but the gnocchi were gorgeous pillows of perfection. Loved it! The Bolognese sauce was rich and delicious on top of beautiful triangular penne pasta. Really different and perfect. This meal was seriously amazing! I can't wait to eat my way through their menu!

House-cured prosciutto. So good - could just snack on this with a few glasses of wine and Scarpetta.

This place is a GEM. Cozy spot inside, and often full, so book in advance. They have 6 seats at the bar near the kitchen, which is also a great spot for dining and watching the BOH staff work on your delicious dishes. Some favorites that are not to be missed, IMO, are the speducc (little cubes of lamb that are grilled on skewers sprinkled with flaky salt, and the aglio e olio.) It's almost impossible for me to try other things because these two dishes are so good. But the rest of the menu is fantastic, including the Cacio e pepe palotte, house-cured prosciutto, the Cotoletta (pounded, breaded, fried cutlet), scarpetta, and a fantastic steak. Dan and Maria, who are often in the FOH or behind the bar, are as gracious as they come. A place where you'll feel like family and decide to have another drink to stay just a bit longer.

There were a couple of steps up to the front entrance, so it's just a tiny bit tricky if you have a stroller or mobility issues. We came for dinner on a Friday night. Initially, it was quiet, but got packed and very lively by the time we left around 7:30. It did get a bit noisy as well. Reservations are definitely recommended. They have indoor and outdoor seating, and you can specify your preference when booking. To start, we shared the mozzarella e pomodoro. The burrata was nice and creamy, but the portion size was on the smaller side. I loved the insalada di pere. The pears and gorgonzola paired well together and the champagne vinaigrette gave it a pleasant sweetness. My family also enjoyed the calamaretti fritti. For my main, I had the risotto ai fungi porcini. It was a bit bland and dry. My husband was happy with the pork chops. The zuppa di pesce was a nice portion size with plenty of leftovers. They provide complimentary bread for the table. Service was excellent. Great for date night or a family meal.

From the warm hospitality to the outstanding food, this was one of those dining experiences that leaves a lasting impression. If you're looking for a great excuse to visit midweek, be sure to stop by on Wine Wednesdays, when bottles of wine are half price. It's the perfect opportunity to gather with friends, unwind, and enjoy a leisurely Italian dinner without breaking the bank. Now, let's talk about the food. The standout of the evening was, without question, the double-cut grilled pork chop with vinegar peppers. This wasn't just a good pork chop--it was the best pork chop I've ever eaten. Expertly grilled with a beautiful char on the outside, it remained incredibly juicy and tender on the inside. It was finished with a rich brown sauce and tangy vinegar peppers that added just the right amount of acidity and depth, creating a perfectly balanced dish. The entrée included a choice of pasta or potatoes and vegetables, and I'm so glad I chose the latter. The real mashed potatoes were creamy, buttery, and clearly homemade, while the grilled broccoli and string beans were cooked perfectly--tender with just enough bite remaining. To start, we ordered the Clams Casino special. These were far from the typical version topped with a small amount of bacon and breadcrumbs. Each clam was generously stuffed with a flavorful seasoned breadcrumb mixture and baked to perfection. Served alongside warm seeded Italian bread, it made for an excellent beginning to the meal. The bread was fresh, crusty, and ideal for soaking up every last bit of sauce. My husband ordered the egg battered lemon sole in a white wine butter sauce, and it looked just as impressive as it tasted. The delicate fish was coated in a light egg batter that created a solid exterior while keeping the sole moist and flaky. Accompanying the dish was a generous bowl of penne tossed with garlic and oil, a simple preparation that allowed the quality of the ingredients to shine. Both entrées were served with fresh side salads dressed with a perfectly balanced oil-and-vinegar dressing. One bite immediately brought back memories of the simple, delicious salads my grandmother used to make--fresh, flavorful, and never overdressed. The restaurant itself is tucked away in a small plaza, making it feel like a hidden gem. During the warmer months, guests can take advantage of the spacious outdoor patio, complete with umbrellas and comfortable seating. It provided the perfect setting for a relaxing summer evening filled with great food, good wine, and wonderful company. I left happy, completely satisfied, and already planning my next visit. Mamma Assunta has earned its reputation over the years, and after this meal, I can confidently say it's a place I'll be returning to again and again. There is meter street parking as well as an outdoor municipal right across the street.
