Got here at 5:30 on a Thursday. As soon as we were seated water glasses were filled a basket of bread was brought over and our drink order was taken. I was planning to get something from the menu but changed my mind when the waiter said Soft Shell Crabs. When that is one of the specials I will continue to order it. That will probably be the next few times that I return here. The way Giorgio prepares it is unique. Read my reviews to see. By 7:00 pm it was quite loud since every table was filled. You know I'll be back. Sal E. New Rochelle

Nice bang for your buck. This place makes some of the best pasta dishes I have ever had. 10/10 foodgasm. The Cavatelli Casareccia is something that is worth breaking a diet over. Their veal martini fish is cooked to perfection. The service is exceptional. The dining room is very narrow with a table of 4 on each side of the isle. The downsides: They do not have a bar and their house wines were underwhelming. The restaurant can get very noisy because there is nothing to dampen the sound from bouncing off the floors and wood floors. There are stains all over the ceiling.

This location is next door to the Club Pilates I visited. I got a to go order but the place was packed . I saw the food that was coming out being served and it looks amazing. The spot is a great casual date night place!

After sitting in my bookmarks for years, I have finally made it to Da Giorgio. I first discovered this spot when chef-owner Giorgio Giacinto competed on Chopped - he's originally from the Bronx so he stood out to me. Since then, my parents had been here a few times with great things to say, which only further persuaded me to visit. My opportunity finally came when we decided to celebrate my brother's birthday here with Sunday dinner - so off we went. Da Giorgio is located in the North Ridge Shopping Center, a small strip of stores among a few local businesses. It's not a large space, especially when comparing it to other restaurants in Westchester. The layout is rectangular with tables lining the perimeter - I would say there were 20 or so tables in the entire restaurant. The decor is mostly Earth tones with lots of Italian accents and medium wood finishes. They play a combination of English, Spanish, and Italian music which adds to the atmosphere without overpowering the aesthetic. The menu is separated by apps, salads, pastas, and entrees. They make their pastas fresh, so I decided to splurge and divulge in some carbs - but first, apps. We decided to split three: the spicy calamari Calabrese and two specials: the eggplant stack and the grilled peaches. All of the apps were really tasty; the peppers added an extra layer to the calamari to make it stand out from the obligatory fried calamari on the menu of every Italian restaurant known to man. The eggplant was tender and the red sauce it was in was full of flavor. The peaches were wrapped in prosciutto, and served with mozzarella on a bed of arugula drizzled in balsamic. For my main, the lasagna Calabrese was speaking to me - the pasta was tender and the layers were embedded with mini meatballs. The flavorful marinara really brought it together - it was a solid dish. Service was great - everyone was super friendly and attentive. Overall, I had a great experience at Da Giorgio. I'm generally wary of Italian restaurants in Westchester, but they have proved to be an exception to the norm. The food is delicious, the service is great, and I would definitely return for another meal.

Excellent Italian food with a very friendly and attentive staff. They are very proud of their restaurant and chef and it shows! Nice specials and anything with their pasta is cooked perfect!!

From a current Westchester resident, my sister, mom and I were hesitant to go , but we were proved wrong that it was a great restaurant. We were a party of 7, and we all felt cared for, the staff was understanding, and attentive from the moment we sat down to leave. Each member in my party had something diffferent: 1. Chicken sandwich 2. Burger 3. Ahi tuna tacos 4. Carbonora (x2) 5. Chicken capricossa 6. Chicken Parm - and even accommodated vodka sauce instead of regular marinara sauce. Wine was nicely poured, cocktails were tasty (although I didn't love my raspberry martini) beer was cold. The restaurant was clean and tidy, and welcoming. Will be coming back ASAP!

We ordered one of their pies half pesto and half fried eggplant -- such a good combo. The eggplant was perfectly crisp, and the pesto paired with pickled onions was an unexpected but delicious collab. We also had the beet salad with ricotta, which was fresh and flavorful. The restaurant is small and cozy. Large metal chandeliers adorn the ceilings and it has an upscale, rustic vibe with candles on the tables. Their menu is enticing. It's Italian inspired, but has lots of variety beyond the classic dishes. The appetizers were fantastic. The crispy artichokes were airy and melted in your mouth. The brussel sprouts were deliciously crispy with a pleasantly sweet sauce. I enjoyed the pistachios on them. The eggplant fries were a unique offering and very tasty topped with crumbled parmesan cheese. They would've been even better with a dipping sauce. For my main, I had the mushroom ravioli. The sauce was rich and creamy and it was topped with sharp parmesan and arugula. I enjoyed it, but the portion size was quite small, as the dish only included four pieces of ravioli. My husband got the black linguine and enjoyed the accompanying cream sauce with shrimp and lobster. To drink, I had the queen margherita, which was nice and tangy from the passion fruit. The waiters were great about refilling our water. The entrees took a little while to come out, but overall service was good. Definitely looking forward to coming back!

Disappointed by the experience -- not what we've come to expect from The Modern…read more The four of us have been to The Modern many times and usually enjoy sitting at the bar for a more relaxed experience. Last night, however, was deeply disappointing. From the start, there was pressure to place food orders quickly, even though we were just settling in. We did order appetizers and later entrees--not an unreasonable timeline--but it felt like we were being hurried for no reason. The real issue came when we ordered a gluten-free pizza with toppings. What was delivered was essentially a round piece of bread with toppings -- not remotely what we expected. We tried several times to flag down the bartender, who proved extremely difficult to get the attention of. When we finally spoke to him and explained the error, the pizza was taken back, but then... nothing. We waited. And waited. More than 30 minutes passed while the rest of us finished our meals -- and still no replacement pizza. When we brought it up again, the bartender's attitude was indifferent at best. Frustrated, I went to the hostess stand and explained the situation. To their credit, the response was immediate: a manager stepped in, apologized, offered a round of drinks on the house, and ensured the corrected dish came out quickly. That level of service--from the manager and hostess--was appreciated and helped salvage the evening, but the overall experience was the worst we've ever had at The Modern. We may go back, but it will be with hesitation. The service at the bar needs serious attention. A restaurant of this caliber should never let service--or guest experience--slip this far.
