I hope it was just the weather because it ( the weather ) was lousy. The hostess was rude and snarky. We can do with out that. The restaurant only had one other table at the time of our reservation. The servers were all over us to start . Normally great, but they just keep pushing us to order and we wanted to relax. It's not like the place was full and they were trying to turn us. We ordered. The meal was ok. I did not appreciate the server making comments about what I did and did not eat on my plate. I typically don't eat the garnish. no need to shame me for not eating it. During our meal, a few more tables arrived. Good luck finding those aggressive servers now! I'll give it anther chance but not anytime soon. I do hope it was just an off night. read more

The pros: - indoor dining is cozy - outdoor dining has heaters - nice drinks menus with lots of good wine selection - many specials that are not on the main menu - extremely nice service - not crowded, tables are well apart from each other - clean bathroom The cons: - the grilled calamari we got were extremely tough, was impossible to cut; definitely was not cooked properly and it was on a main menu, so I would expect it to be cooked very well - a little chilly inside, would appreciate if it would be a little warmer - pricey, not extremely but the dishes we got were kind of expensive, but there are cheaper options Overall very positive experience. We got grilled calamari for the appetizer ( not recommending) and sea food pasta (special) which was really good, ice cream for dessert which was pretty decent as well. read more

I usually get take out here. Saturn at bar only portion. Tonight is a ridiculously long wait at bar for EVERYTHING. Not offered a drink for ridiculous wait time. The bartender should reprimand old white men at bar sneezing loudly 49 yards in all directions !!! Disgusting Appetizers -35'mins after ordering and overall the staff seems distracted and overwhelmed. Beet and seafood salad with asparagus was good. Pasta was less than ok. Had to ask for water. We had high hopes for this Italian newcomer in Larchmont. It's pleasant and simply decorated. We had a couple of hitches with the service. There was a mistake with the drink order and it took us a long time to get our entrees. People who came in afterwards were served before we were. We started off with good bread and spread, which was replenished cheerfully. The food was a split decision. The salads were very good. The rigatoni Bolognese and squid ink pasta were OK. The branzino was a bit fishy, along with the mussels in a pasta entree. The sole and pork capricciosa were both excellent. The waiter must have sensed that things were off a bit, because he comped us an order of Nutella panna cotta. This is a new restaurant with potential. There's room for improvement. First of all, I must disclaim that this location is doomed. This is the fourth restaurant in a sequence of failed attempts. I asked the server if they are on Yelp and he said he is opposed to all social media. That's an uphill battler in 2017. This is ordinary Italian food. It was not differentiated in terms of menu or preparation. There are several other Italian places within a block, all of which I prefer. It wasn't bad but it also wasn't particularly good. I had breaded chicken, which was fine but also a bit fatty. My wife had seared salmon which she said was 'fine'. Unfortunately the service was below average. They tried to squeeze next to us a party of 6 into a table that only seats 4. They spent ten minutes trying to adjust tables like a jigsaw puzzle that clearly wasn't going to work. This made us decide to hurry and just leave. Other service issues included: no wine list, and a group effort rather than a single waiter. read more

Despite its quiet demeanor, Trattoria makes a big splash with it's food, service, and coffee. The eggplant lasagna is simply heavenly, and the bread leaves absolutely nothing to be desired. The calamari, though slightly overdone this time, comes with a perfect sauce. The menu has a wide selection and the daily specials are all exciting. The fettuccini gamberetti is simply delightful, perfectly cooked pasta, juicy tomatoes, delicious shrimp, and fresh arugula topped with a white wine sauce. One of the specials was a chicken rolled with the prosciutto I believe there was spinach in it covered in blue cheese sauce I thought I wouldn't like the blue cheese sauce but I did. Also had like a lightly crispy fried coding. Nice place remodeled modern very large bar we had the place to ourselves I guess it's just not a lunch spot but if you want an empty lunch spot then this is definitely the place to go it is large they have a lot of tables. Not your typical Italian restaurant. Decent size menu supplemented by a huge number of specials. Appetizers (crab cake and shrimp salad) were excellent; both were specials. Main courses (veal scallopini special and cod) were also very good. My problem is that the waiter quickly rattles them off and doesn't offer the prices. Had a delicious dinner here the other night. The steak was cooked perfectly. It came with a rather dull looking potato, broccoli and carrots. I was shocked when those sides turned out to be delicious! The chocolate mousse dessert was tasty but the the tiramisu and the ricotta cheesecake (which they brought on the house) were absolutely heavenly. My husband and I had a fantastic dinner at the bar here Saturday night. We had three of the specials and they were excellent. Great food, one of the best Italian I had in the US. Calamari and mussels in spicy tomato sauce were perfectly cooked. So tender and flavorful. Oven baked shrimp and polenta were also superb. Must try white truffle pasta. Intense truffle flavor is perfectly balanced in cream sauce. Also ordered pappardelle with sausage and ricotta cheese cake. They brought chocolate mousse and biscotti on the House. Desert was also well done, not too sweet. With 4 glasses of prosecco and tax came around $150 without tip. Soooo worth it. Highly recommend!! I'm surprised by some of the negative reviews! We've been there several times for both lunch and dinner, and each time the food and service have been excellent. The restaurant is crowded every night, so there must be some reason people go there, and go back. The comment that other restaurants in that space have failed is completely irrelevant. Also, comparing this to "other restaurants nearby is unfair because they are often twice the price! The value at 141 is great! read more

Went with another couple to try the newest restaurant to risk this location. We all eat out feaquently at several local Italian restaurants we like a lot.......so finding a new one was going to be a hard sell. We were all sold. We were warmly embraced by the "manager/owner" who strongly steered us to select certain menu items. The appetizers were excellent.....the broccoli rabe soup was magnificent. Other choices were stuffed mushrooms and the buratta. Both very good. I thought my veal Roma was just ok but the other person who ordered the same loved it. Next time I will order the special.....which the owner advised!Also ordered was the chicken scarpariello and the mushroom ravioli. Both got the thumbs up. Prices are very reasonable considering the location. The restaurant is well appointed, not overly loud and unpretentious. We all plan to return soon read more

We live about 200 yards from this place. We've eaten (many times) at all the Larchmont places, including several that preceded this place in the same location. We love Italian food (my wife is half Italian, I harass her about it constantly). We decided to try it out the other night. The food was great, and the service was very good. I had a black linguine with fruit de mer or whatever you call seafood. :) My wife had a truffle white linguine. Both were amazing (her's was actually better, but marginally). The bread was fresh and warm. I had a nice Caesar salad, she had some kind of carpaccio. And we had individual glasses of wine - the selection was decent, and the wine served at a good temperature. My only (amusing) comment beyond that is - when we got the bread (right when we sat down), it came with some kind of sauce. But I prefer to just have olive oil, so I asked for some olive oil. The waiter brought an entire large bottle of olive oil. Um,... ok. It worked. My wife and I got a chuckle out of that, but hey, it was all good. We will definitely be back soon, and hoping this place catches on, unlike the last couple of places in that location. Hey, you can walk from half of Larchmont, and it's a pleasant walk. I love this place! Great food, always fresh and the staff is always friendly. From their pasta dishes to their fresh fish to their meat, it is always cooked the way I order. This was likely the worst dining experience I can ever recall having. We were the second table to arrive, at 6:30, and as the place filled up we were the last table to have our order taken. The owner came to take our order, which normally would indicate that we would have a lovely meal, but he quickly complained that he was the only waiter on duty. There was a garlic food allergy at the table and after joking that he'd make sure to put lots of the allergy food in the entree, he said yes he would make sure that the entre would not have any garlic. The very long list of specials seemed promising, but after telling them to us he literally disappeared for a half hour, waiting on every other table and taking their orders first. We told the bus staff that we wanted to order, and when the owner finally came back, we asked a few questions to clarify some of the specials. He walked away from our table when we asked a question. Finally we were able to call over the bus staff and asked again to please take our order. Finally at 8:45 our entrees came to our table. The rest of the restaurant guest were onto their desserts. The no garlic entree arrived- yes you've guessed it- with garlic! They quickly took it away and shortly returned ( too shortly we should have realized) and I took a mouthful of a RAW muscle. Again, we called over the bus staff, who got the owner back to the table. His response was "oh they must have been rushing". I passed on having an entree at that point. He told me he'd take my entree off the bill. Oh gee that was kind of you. We had a lovely bus man, Orlando, who was being as gracious as he possibly could be through this awful meal and he was the only bright spot in the evening. After a long heart to heart with the owner, he did remove some things from the bill. But considering the terrible service, ignoring a food allergy and serving RAW SHELL FISH, he should have torn the whole bill up, apologized profusely and given us a gift card for a redo. I'd think an owner would take more pride in their business. I won't be surprised when I drive by and see they are no longer in business! read more

Borderline 4 star restaurant with sub par portions. We really think this is a 3.5 star restaurant. The service was good, the bar is nice and the food tasted excellent. However, their portion sizes were incredibly disappointing. We ordered the white truffle pasta special and the sword fish special. The pasta special is a $25 speghetti that was smaller than a kids size. It tasted great but for a restaurant of this type, in this location it left us scratching our head. How many cents did they save skimping on a couple of ounces of pasta??? The $12 stuffed pepper tasted amazing but was small as was the tiramisu. Overall we loved the ambiance, service and food quality. For the price point there are better options but we will probably give it another go. read more
