I would have to rate my experience with this outfit a solid "0"! I walked into this establishment looking to get an evaluation on to RV batteries. I was met with at very rude front desk employee that was too preoccupied with his computer screen to acknowledge my presents. After standing directly in front of this employee for several seconds I had to make I gesture to get him to look up and engage with me. After advising this person why I was there, he refused to look me in the eyes holding his head down and proceeded to quote me some unreasonable cost just to check the status of two batteries. I appreciate that they answered the phone. They were honest in telling me that they were not taking any service work unless the RV had been purchased there. They didn't think it was right to have your RV sitting around for two months because they couldn't get to it. They didn't respond to my first few messages but they were busy. This is probably one of the worst companies I have ever dealt with. Their sales department was great until we started to drive off the lot and our trailer fell off our vehicle because they hadn't attached our hitch right which then damaged our truck. Then we have had to take it in multiply times for the same repair. They would make us wait months to the point that our warranty ran out and then they try to charge us for the repairs. I called the manufacture and they said of course they would cover the work but it should have been put in as warranty work from the beginning even if it was after the warranty period. In 2021 we bought a 35' Toyhauler from Michael Hohl's RV. Sales staff was okay but service was horrible. They literally had our trailer for 7 months for warranty work. I swore I would never biy from them again. Fast forward to 2024. My husband passed and I couldn't/didn't want to drive the 35' bumper pull so I returned to Hohl's to trade it in for a small 5th wheel. WOW! What a completely different experience. New management in both the sales department and service department and am I impressed! Miguel in service is just phenomenal! I fully recommend them to anyone looking to purchase a new RV. I am deeply disappointed with the lack of customer service I've received since purchasing my coach on July 13th. I have tried contacting the center several times without success as I wanted to develop a relationship with the dealership. Before purchasing my coach, I asked that the roof be inspected to ensure that the time that it spent on your lot did not cause damage. I also notified you of a leak in the cargo area and two rips on the armrest of the seating in the garage. During the inspection, I was informed that they were unable to schedule to have the upholstery repaired and the service department would schedule the repair. I was also told that the fireplace had a missing remote but that a replacement would be mailed to me, the leak had been fixed, and the roof was inspected without issue. None of these items were fixed nor have they been addressed despite four calls initiated by me as well as three emails. During the walkthrough, I commented several times on how poorly the coach was readied for my purchase. In fact, while I was waiting to purchase the coach, I made a reservation at a campsite so that I could clean the coach myself while having hookups. I called and spoke to Sam the following week to notify him that in addition to the items above, the corner awning cover was missing and sent him the photos requested. I also notified him that the batteries would not hold a charge overnight. I had no response back from anyone. Since then, I've found that the leak in the cargo hatch was not fixed. I really have to question if the roof inspection was completed because I went on the roof and found a large patch of bubbling. On Wednesday, I left a message for the manager, and followed up with an email to Jannette in sales. Someone returned my call but didn't leave their name so when I called back, I spoke to Sam. I was placed on hold so that I could speak to someone else and proceeded to wait until work called me away. No one returned my call. Today I called back and spoke to a woman in service that did not identify herself. I let her know about the issues and asked to set up a service appointment. She said that she would need details to order the fireplace remote so that it could be ordered but they could mail it to me. I explained that I didn't have the coach here and wasn't able to get her that information. I'd also like to note that the propane tanks were empty, and the gas tank had enough gas to run the generator for ten minutes. read more

The service center has to be the absolute worst place to take your rv. They have had our travel trailer since June 30th and it is still not finished for very minor repairs. A small screen for a window, a small blind for a window, a blind turner to open and close the blind (which never came with the trailer when we got it), and to reinforce the shelf that the exhaust hood attaches to. That was it. We keep getting told that the parts are in, then told we just got the warranty approval 5 minutes ago, then the screen just got in. I mean come on this is ridiculous. You have wasted our summer to enjoy our travel trailer, which would have been our first year to use it because you have it sitting there in your lot. Now you are risking our trip that we have planned for labor day and you still want us to pay for what is not being covered by warranty. I should charge for wasting my time of not being able to use it. read more

It has taken me a couple months to write this review, I was hoping Miguel or an other manager would try to reel me back in. No such luck. I purchased a new 2019 heritage Glenn 35' RV and traded in my 2018. One reason was for a larger RV and the second, because Miguel said the owner didn't want them to do warranty work on rv's they didn't sell. I thought that was odd but Miguel took care of me anyway. I had them service and do any warranty work that was needed. Here is where the problem started. I went to pick up my RV and noticed a scratch that only went through the decal, it was about 14" long. I went to Miguel and he looked at me and said, how do we know that it happened here. That's what set me off. I take great care of everything that I own, Miguel knew that by how particular I was and the condition of my RV. All dealers when taking in your RV should do a walk around and detail if there is any damage, they don't. By Miguel making the comment "how do we know it happened here" insinuated that I was lying. That pissed me off. After that comment he did say he would order a new decal, in the same breath, he said they would have to take pictures next time I came in. That was another slam that I was lying. Oh, I didn't complain when I was told the earliest I could get in was three months out. I was supposed to get my rig back that day. No one called me to pick it up, when I did call, Miguel was already off. I left a message, no call back the following day. To sum this up, my appointment made 3 months in advance to winterize took 5 days. I purchased a 50k RV, not the most expensive but also not the least. To be called a liar set me off. We took our motor home in 11-29-2022, for several repairs. Whenever we called, they were waiting for parts. Today we stopped in to inquire. The man said, "they just pulled it in to troubleshoot the awning." I told him, "I can see it from your window and it hasn't moved from the parking lot!" That man quickly left the room. Another worker came to the desk. He said the outside kitchen sink was leaking because the water lines were disconnected and looped together. I told him we disconnected the lines because the sink was leaking. That man said he would summon the mechanic who worked on it. So a very nice young man appeared and explained the problem he found and that he installed new piping. Then I told him we are taking it home right now. When we tried starting it, it would not start and it was very apparent it had not been started for a long while. Plus it had 5" of snow on the roof!! It finally started for us. Been looking for a new RV and have been from IOWA, to Montana Idaho and California, almost the whole West coast. Today I went to Michael Haul's at 4:45 PM, was approached by what is to be believed as a salesman. I was asked if I could return on Sunday, asked or told? The reason I say this is because I live 20 miles from Michael Haul's RV and don't make it a practice to come down to Carson City just for the heck of it, I wanted to buy and get some pricing on a new RV. With that said, I already had visited the other Michael Haul's RV at the other end of town. I looked through about 20 trailers and not one person came out, to ask me if I could use any help. I left, not too happy because everything I was seeing on price was about $10-$15,000 more than California and over $15,000 more than Montana and Idaho. With that said, I will be purchasing a brand new 2019, 29 foot Bullet RV for $17,999, that includes the good Samaritan package, tandem trailer, duel doors, sleeps eight, and the company will pay my gas one way and a meal. I don't see anybody in Northern Nevada doing anything like that except counting their money all the way to the bank. Maybe this is why Michael Haul is under new management. read more

As a buyer, be very careful of these people. My wife and I were interested in buying a 5th wheel they had on their lot. We did our due diligence and found dealer in CA with a much better price for the same 5th wheel. When I talked with Hohl, I was told the CA dealer is the one of the largest dealers in the country and they could not beat the CA dealer's price but they would make us a great deal, as close to the price as they could. When I went in to Hohl, the deal which was in writing was $1,500 over the price that the CA was asking. The salesman pointed out that the offer they were making me was on a 2019 and the price I found on the one in CA was on a 2018, so I was getting a great deal. We also agreed on the purchase of a 5th wheel hitch and a price for our trade in. I left, offer in hand and called my wife on the way home with the deal. We agreed that we were going to buy the 5th wheel and my wife started the process to pull the money out of our retirement funds....... Then the rip off call. The salesman called me while I was driving home. He told me the price I'd been given on the written quote was on a 2018, not a 2019 and the 2019 would be $3,500 more. He also told me they'd decided the offer on the trade in would be $500 less than what we'd agreed on. Again, I had the offer in writing, listing a 2019 on the offer sheet. When I wrote and email to Hohl to try to resolve the issue, I got no response. If I could give them a minus rating I would...... Do not trust these people. read more

Jordan took the time to walk through my repair punch-list at check-in and help me think through the best approaches for each item. His repair work was top-notch, even building me a winterizing fluid siphon intake hose. Quality parts. Proactive communication. And at pickup Jordan gave a thorough walkthru, with clear instructions on some maintenance tips going forward. The guys an RV service rock star! In 2015 I tried Sprad's and in 2016 I tried Sierra RV. I found both to have poor communication, marginal workmanship and products, high staff turnover, and *very* slow turnaround. We purchased a 2019 Fleetwood Bounder from Michael Hohl in August of this year. The sales staff could not have been friendlier and helpful through out the transaction. We took said motorhome on a two week trip to northern Idaho and Oregon. During the trip, the shower pan leaked, the living room slide scraped and ripped the floor tile in several places, one of the leveling jacks started leaking hydraulic fluid, and numerous other minor issues surfaced. We returned from our trip, contacted Michael Hohl's RV service department in order to have the above mentioned items repaired. We dropped the motorhome off near the end of August. We were told it would take a few weeks to fix the broken/inoperative items repaired. In September, my wife received a call from one of the service department's employees inquiring if we wanted the windshield repaired as it was cracked and if we were going to contact our insurance company to file a claim. My wife pointed out that we delivered the motorhome to them with an intact windshield. She was then told to disregard and that Michael Hohl would take care of it. I received a call yesterday, 11/21/19, from the Warranty Manager stating our motorhome was ready to be picked up and all repairs had been made. Mind you our motorhome had been at Michael Hohl for over THREE months! I went to Michael Hohl Rv this morning to inspect my motorhome prior to taking it home. Much to my surprise, it was in fact not ready!!! The rubber gasket that is supposed to be installed around the outside of the windshield was missing!!! I declined to accept the motorhome and asked the service employee how much longer it was going to take to get the repairs made. She said the window gasket was ordered and should be here within the next two weeks!!! I left Michael Hohl and later called Fleetwood Customer Service to see if they could be of assistance. The customer service rep researched our warranty history and noted that warranty repair requests weren't filed with Fleetwood until the middle of October! In other words, our Motorhome sat on Michale Hohl's lot from the end of August to the middle of October before any work was done on it! It's November 22nd, and it's still not fixed!! WTF?? This place is horrible, if I had to do it all over again, I would of purchased from a dealer in Reno. Now we are stuck with this service center as there are no other Fleetwood authorized repair facilities in Northern Nevada! Michael Hohl RV Center's service and parts department exceeded our wildest expectations for friendly and expert help. From the moment we walked in, Cheblis Metz, the Warranty Manager, took care of us. We had been en route between home and a camping reservation south of Tahoe, and were having a problem with our pop-up's main electric cord that plugs into the Jeep. She listened to us carefully, took a look at it, and got someone from service to do a quick estimate. Joe Conroy, the Service Manager, figured out how long it would take and squeezed us in for repair between all of his other appointments, even though it was very busy in the shop. The cord was replaced and we were on our way in under an hour, so grateful that our trip was saved due to the great folks at Hohl's. It really meant a lot to us to have a nice camping overnight, after a couple of really busy and tiring weeks beforehand. The cord and unit works perfectly! Unfortunately zero stars is not an option. I went to Michael Hohl RV to have a warranty issue taken care of. My Winnebago trailer was two days out of warranty. Dave, the Service writer, took it upon himself to deny our warranty claim and blame it on Winnebago. He said the replacement of a gray water valve would be $450.00. After I called Winnebago I found Michael Hohl had not even called Winnebago to request warranty coverage. Winnebago covered the claim without a problem. I don't know if this was a case of gross negligence ( they said the service writer did not know who he was talking to and thought it was Winnebago) , or just wanted to make more cash for the business. Either way it would have cost me $450.00 that I did not need to spend. I would avoid them when there is ANY other solution. read more

we just bought a used motor home from Jason seemed like a great guy . He kept calling to make sure we were picking it up , When we had already set up a appointment with him for pick up . When we arrived to get it he took us to another place and then left .My Husband took it for a test drive with the Mechanic and the waste system was not operating correctly . Bought a new tent trailer and while negotiating the price they failed to inform me that they would meet my price by not providing a battery, walk thru, or filled propane tanks. When questioned about it Mike was rude and arrogant and didn't really care because the sale was already completed. I was trying to support a family run business and I will never purchase from them again. Only redeeming part of the deal was Adrian who is their laborer. He went out of his way to ensure we knew how to operate the trailer. Thanks Adrian. I think the thing MH doesn't get is that word of mouth is very important. Their used models were priced the same as the same brand new one in nor cal. We ultimately decided to drive down to california cause the extra money wasn't worth the convenience of buying local. I called to get some warrant work done on my 5th wheel recently. When I called for an appointment it took almost two months to get my trailer in. Most of the work on my trailer was minor repairs I wanted fixed before the 1 year bumper to bumper expired. I bought the trailer in New Jersey but since had moved to Nevada they were the closest authorized Forest River Dealer. I had pictures on file with the forest river factory well before my one year warranty expired and they noted my VIN file as said the repairs would still be covered under warranty. When my appointment date finally came around I went over all the requested repairs, explained my scenario and forwarded all the email correspondence I had with forest river. Two weeks later I called for an update since no one had contacted me and they said they hadn't got to my trailer yet. They contacted me two days later to let me know my trailer wasn't under warranty and I would have to pay for all the repairs. I'm convinced they only started to look at my file since I called for an update and obviously they did not communicate everything I passed when I dropped my trailer off. Fast forward a week and the warranty manager calls me as if she did me a favor and got all the work covered under warranty. Three weeks later they say my trailer is ready with the exception of blinds they ordered that were the wrong color. I agreed to pick the trailer up and have them mail the blinds to me. When I arrived to pick the trailer up the service shop debated amongst themselves on whether all the repair work was complete. I had the mechanic go over everything with me.... They didn't fix two items and the notes said to take it to the selling dealer (I bought it in NJ). They didn't even bother letting me know they didn't fix the items I requested They didn't replace the plate for my pull rite superglide hitch that they took off ( could have damaged my truck ) Bottom line, I couldn't imagine a worst experience. I will begin by saying I'm a bit surprised by some of the negative reviews posted here. My wife and I recently purchased a new travel trailer from Michael Hohl RV in Carson City and received professional and courteous service from the sales, finance and service crews. The entire process was painless and efficient. Our sales person (Scott) was very knowledgeable about their inventory. He was thorough in explaining the features of the travel trailer we were considering. He was very helpful and friendly and was never pushy. The same goes for the finance manager (Jeff). He didn't twist our arms to buy supplemental products and did a lot of legwork to get us an outstanding interest rate. The service crew was outstanding. We were provided with the most thorough walkthrough we have ever received when buying a new RV. Because there is so much technology in the new units, I had a multitude of questions, but the young man who assisted us (Aaron) was very friendly and patient throughout. We discovered several problems that were fixed on the spot immediately. We had the wrong hitch for the unit as well so the service crew adapted our hitch with a new part which they discounted by 40 percent. They didn't have to do that. A lot of reviewers have complained about Michael Hohl providing preferential treatment to customers who purchased their units from them. That is a universal practice in this industry and is not unique to Michael Hohl RV. As a matter of fact, the Rockwood literature we received when we purchased our trailer had a message from the manufacturer advising customers to buy locally because licensed dealers are not obligated to provide service. I'll end by saying the entire crew at Michael Hohl treated us well. Based on our initial interactions, I anticipate that we will continue to receive excellent service if we need support in the future. read more
