My husband and I are 2023 new to the RV industry purchasing our first travel trailer from Western Skys. They are one of the last" if not " the last family-owned recreational vehicle dealer in my area. I am sure this may hold true for most areas in our country. Owning a recreational vehicle is an investment. While enjoying that investment is a must, "arriving alive" is the top priority! Just when you think you are getting the hang of it you are sharply reminded how much you still do not know & how much still there is to learn. That is why having Jason and a dealer like Western Sky's a true good luck charm. We brought our tailer in to have my furnace serviced. While I was there it was brought to my attention my solar batteries were not installed correctly, as well as a short that was discovered causing the inverter charging system to shut off while charging. (Safety mechanism) To top this all of when my husband was hitching up Jason, because of his wealth of knowledge, and expert eyes noticed parts of our hitch had loosened (how did he notice?) by noticing our weight distribution bars showed signed of wear. Had Jason not caught this what could have happened on any future journey could have been catastrophic, and possibly the end to our travel trailer adventures! I am incredibly thankful to Western Sky's, and to Jason for showing us how to check our hitches integrity frequently & adding this to our safety check list. We had the best experience buying our new Opus 17 here. Mark Malcom was so helpful, showing us all sorts or rvs until we decided exactly what we wanted. When we came up to pick it up he even got us a place to stay at the Atlantis. Scott in finance made everything very easy and explained all our options well. Justin was who did our walk around, and he was excellent at knowing all the little nuances of our rv. Super nice kid! We even got to meet the owner Austin and talk about snowboarding. All around a great experience with some really nice people. We love our new rv and couldn't recommend these people more! read more

You can't fault a dealer for bad RV manufacturing, but you can fault them when they say they fixed it, but in fact did nothing. Basically, if you're interested in the brands they are selling, then you can come here to buy an RV. Afterwords I'd just immediately find somewhere else for service, which sort of defeats the purpose but this place is the worst. They fixed none of the warranty issues in the first place and now we're outside our first year and they won't take responsibility for the additional issues caused by not fixing the warranty issues in the first place. read more

Buyer beware! I'm writing to express my deep dissatisfaction with both the service department and ownership at your company regarding the handling of my Opus 15 trailer. I paid over $50,000 in cash for this trailer and have only used it twice since purchase. As the owner of a business that services high-end vehicles, including recreational vehicles, I take meticulous care of my equipment. I initially brought the trailer in for service due to a leak in the restroom area and a few other minor issues. Upon return, the condition of my trailer was unacceptable. There was mud tracked throughout the interior, a full bottle of antifreeze was left unsecured on the floor--posing a serious safety hazard--and most concerningly, a major water leak occurred because the service team failed to properly tighten the water lines. This level of negligence is alarming. During a subsequent visit for warranty work, I voiced my previous concerns and was assured by staff that my experience would be different this time. Unfortunately, it was not. I picked up my trailer only to find permanent damage to the bamboo cabinets. Although it's clear the damage was caused by careless handling of tools, I was told the team was "not responsible" since those areas weren't part of the work order. Photos of the damage are attached for reference. After weeks of trying to resolve these issues through the service team, I escalated the matter to the owner, Bill Buko. Instead of an apology or effort to make things right, I was met with excuses. Mr. Buko flatly refused to address the damages and responded to my intent to leave a review by stating he "loves suing people." This level of customer service is unacceptable--particularly for a premium product. I strongly advise anyone considering purchasing a trailer from this company, or using its service department, to reconsider. read more

Bill in Service Dept is the worst. We took our brand new 2024 Forest River RV here to get warranty work done because we couldn't winterize it because the water pump didn't work to suck in the antifreeze. We knew this was the problem because we were on a service call walking us through how to winterize it our first time. The technician said we should take it to Western Skies because it was a Forest River certified dealer and did warranty work. We called right away and they said bring it in. They winterized it but charged us $220. Our dealer said they would have done it for free since there was something wrong with the pump. Bill wouldn't even listen to us-the customer. He held his hand up and said he wasn't going to listen. Well, our next appt was then about 2 weeks later to get the water pump fixed. It was broken or faulty. They replaced it but charged us $329 and said we had to go through Forest River for the warranty refund because "they never get paid". We called Forest River. The guy in warranty said "If they are an authorized Forest River dealer, then they DO DO warranty work. If they don't do warranty work, they won't be a Forest River dealer. It's that simple." Needless to say.... Forest River is now helping us get our money back from warranty work done at a Forest River dealer who just refuses to do the billing correctly. Bill was rude and quite frankly offensive. He's not in the right business-Service?!?! read more

Salesman spent most of his time talking to my husband, even when it was made clear that I was making the purchase. When it was time to sign papers, my husband's name was listed first on every page. At least 1 document (with the business name listed at the top) had only male pronouns. When I refused to sign, I was promised that the title would be corrected to read with my name first. It took 7 months for the title to arrive because the paperwork had been lost and had to be resubmitted and it still arrived addressed to my husband. I called and was told I would get a call back from the person in charge of the paperwork (the man who promised it would go into the DMV with my name first) either that day or the next. When I didn't hear back, I called again and eventually was called by the manager who denied that there was a problem and refused to correct the title. read more

Horrible customer service from service department. Sent me home with an expensive new camper with a very expensive dead battery that was so dead it couldn't be saved. They didn't work with me just wore me down. I ended up buying another battery and problem solving the repair on my own. Especially after reading other reviews on how they damaged their rvs while being fixed and leaving them trashed and not repaired. I do not recommend them. Buyer beware is right. I'm going to start with the beginning...hubby and I went camper shopping last weekend. After a disappointing stop at a different place, we dropped by Western Skies. Rick came out, and we told him what we were looking for, which was more about size than price. He took us through several campers, carefully explaining the features, giving us tips along the way, answering every question. We ended up inside an E-Pro and I fell in love. However, the model we were looking at had a fuse blown. No problem. Rick went and got us one so we could see lights and such. It was a hot day, and our 9 year old was with us. I remarked to her we needed to get water after the tour. Rick disappears to get something, and minutes later produces 3 bottles of cold water for us, just from overhearing our chat. He was patient, kind, and exactly the type of sales person I enjoy. Fast forward to yesterday, when I had to drop off our truck to get the hitch and electric. Rick sees me and comes out, offers to run me nearby where I work (I needed the exercise, so I politely declined, haha). I drop the truck off with the service dept. It was ready quickly. Now we're at today. Rick wasn't there to see us tow our new baby away, but boy, was our experience still awesome. Kacey was our walk-through tech. He went over everything about our camper. I mean, everything. With detail and patience. His knowledge was incredible. Went out of his way to make sure we were happy. The storage area had some leaves in it. He made sure it was cleaned before we left. We decided on an upgraded hitching system. He had it installed before we signed our purchasing paperwork. Went over the entire braking mechanisms with my husband. With a fine tooth comb. Even made my husband go behind him and repeat the steps so he'd remember. We go inside and Scott is our finance guy. Again, thorough and knowledgeable and very kind. I'd leave 10/10 if I could. Incredible experience. I truly wish every large purchase we make had folks like these at the helm. This is a locally owned RV shop, the only one left in Reno. I highly recommend you shop with them. My husband found a toy hauler (2022 inTech Explore) he wanted and the only dealership that had one was Western Skies. We live in California, 6 hours away so we never actually saw one in person. We worked with Shannon M. in sales who was fantastic! He answered all our questions, sent photos and even did a Facetime with us to go over features. He was always available by phone and even came in on his day off to send us paperwork the bank needed. Our purchase was rushed due to an event my husband wants to attend and Shannon really worked it to get us a space so we could pick up our rig in time. Chris D. in finance was very nice and explained everything. This was a remote out of state sale and he had no problem working with our bank to make sure everything was set up so the day we picked up, all the paperwork was in order...and best of all, no high pressure sales for added stuff. He explained all the extra warranties available but didn't badger us which we appreciated. Casey, in service, did our walk through and he was just a delight. He was very professional , engaging and explained all the things. He went over every detail and seemed as excited for us as we were. We ended up getting a generator and solar panels there as well based on his suggestion. He made sure the generator was in order and went over that with us as well. Everyone we dealt with was very friendly and understood customer service. It was a very busy day we were there and yet we never felt rushed or in the way. Update: went on another camping trip this last weekend and the nightmare continues! We pulled up to camp and began setting up and our pop out was making a weird noise! One of the tracks is off! Had to camp with the pop out in. We were on hook ups for the first time, we woke up Sunday morning to our freshwater tank saying it was full. We were on city water so it shouldn't be full, my husband checked the fresh water and sure enough we were full. So now there is something wrong with the check valve! Every time we have camped this year there is something wrong with this trailer. We used it maybe twice last year! I would like to express how unhappy my husband and I are with their services! We bought a trailer last year (2022) and used it twice, when we went to use it the first time this year the valance in the bathroom was popping off and all the sealant was coming up around our bathroom door! When my husband called to make an appointment to bring it in the man stated "that's kind of a DIY thing"! Not when it's under warranty! We then filled it with water to go on our first trip of the season and part of the toilet on the back was leaking so we had to replace that! With no reimbursement, then we got to our camping spot turned on the water pump and the kitchen sink was leaking! We also fixed that with no reimbursement! Our second camping trip of the season we decided to use our outdoor shower for the first time and the shower head was cracked! We also fixed that with no reimbursement! Our awning is already starting to come off on one side and my husband is going to have to fix that! Now we are on a camping trip with no hot water because the propane tank hoses are leaking and when my husband went in their employees said they could only give him a discount but it's normal wear and tear! We have had many trailers and I am extremely disappointed the customer service here! Why do we have a warranty when we have to fix everything!!! read more

This is just a quickie review of my PHONE and EMAIL correspondence today. The gal who helped me was top notch. She gave me basics over the phone and emailed me a quote very quickly. I responded and she replied quickly. I had no idea what a TWO WEEK motorhome trip might cost. This was based on 2000 miles. It sounds like these are VERY new units with low miles so very dependable! We probably will not rent this motorhome but I'm so impressed with this level of customer service that if I were to rent I would for sure go check these units out in person. The true mark of a quality company or organization is what do they do when something goes wrong. My husband and I live in Reno, NV. We stopped by and got to know Jason on several occasions where we admired, drove and considered the smaller but awesome Winnebago but finally decided it was too underpowered to pull our Jeep Unlimited (4 door) safely. So, we kept researching and looking. Our searches took us to Southern California where some of the dealers there have the same products, at sometimes a huge savings. Northern California also had many dealers where we could of saved some hard earned cash. However, we ultimately came back to Western Skies RV where we felt buying local would save money in the long run by not needing to travel far for service when anything goes "wrong" with our purchase. And, if you've ever owned an RV, any RV, something WILL go wrong with your "rig". After much consideration, we saw the perfect RV on Western Skies RV website. Jason had moved over to the parts department so we worked with Daniel in Sales. We drove the unit and decided to "pull the trigger" and sat down with Daniel, who ultimately had Austin (the owners son) come in while we negotiated and finalized our agreement to purchase this RV. Mind you, we saw the same model on a Southern California lot at a better price, but add up the cost of travel, purchase and needing after sales attention, and you are not really saving all that much. Plus, Daniel was easy to work with and Austin is very reasonable and professional. We decided to go with a Coachman Freelander 29KB motor home with a E450 Chassis. It's not the most expensive type of class C out there, but well known brand with the best layout we've ever seen. For us semi-retired folks, who are NOT hard on things, this Class C should be perfect for our adventures for the next several years. We're pretty excited. During our delivery, we met with Dustin, one of their delivery Techs. He took his time introducing us to our new rig. Dustin answered all our questions and never seemed annoyed with our questions. This is a very professional young man, one that I'm sure Wester Skies is proud to have on staff. During the introduction, we'd noticed a few things that either were missing compared to the "build sheet" or things that needed repair. Dustin wrote down and actually addressed what he could while we met with our finance guy, Scott. I'd been speaking with Scott over the phone since the day we decided to buy the rig regarding interest rates. (You normally have a few days after deciding to purchase and picking up your RV because they have to get the unit ready). Our credit is very good so we were able to find greater rates than what we'd discussed on our initial meeting. When I'd mentioned this to Scott, he went to work to find even better rates than we found, we saved money by Scotts connections with lenders which we appreciate. Thank you Scott! After getting the new RV home, we'd noticed additional things that we had not noticed at the time we picked up the rig, in additions to missing things that we noticed on the day of our delivery. I contacted Scott, who shifted me over to Sabrina. Sabrina, what an awesome young lady to work with. She has gone out of her way to contact the rep from Coachmen to ensure everything is repaired/replaced/installed on our the RV. She said if the manufacture does not make it right, that Western Skies will be sure to take care of us. Now, I assure you, that could not and would not have happened if we'd of purchased 400 miles from home. It would have been "out of site, out of mind' and we'd of had a battle on our hands. Sorry I got so long winded here, but the after sale for us is as important as the unit itself. It was our pleasure to work with everyone we met at Western Skies. They do what they say. We purchased a pricey all new 2023 NuCamp 320 trailer in July. The purchase went well, but during the pre-delivery inspection we found two nominal defects. Because of supply chain issues and an enormous work back-up we had to wait till today (October) to facilitate the repair. (The issues did not inhibit our use of the trailer) They finished the repair today (overhead fan) and all went well. Bryan and the entire team at WS-RV could not have been nicer or more efficient. In at 1:00PM and out at 3:00PM as promised. This is our 2nd trailer and the NuCamp is quite high quality. You pay for it, but it is worth it. These days quality does not come cheap. The systems in the NuCamp 320 and 400 are quite complex even for a veteran trailer owner. A pre or post-purchase training class or comprehensive video would be useful. read more

Unfortunate to have to write this review due to our previous excitement to work with this company. We found the trailer that would meet our family needs and worked up the deal. We agreed to put $4000 down, they pulled our credit, figured out payments and terms. Then said come in on Saturday to finish everything. I transferred the $4000 to our account and then after being told to come in on Saturday, receive a phone call saying they sold our trailer. Wow, how does that happen? A family run business is what they boast, but certainly didn't care about the impact this had on our family. Specifically our kids, who were so excited to have found a trailer that would hit all our want list items. It's okay though, things have a way of working out. UPDATE 2: We bought a new trailer from Western Skies RV! And Josh! And the experience was just as amazing as last time! We appreciate them so much and are so grateful to have a great RV dealer so close to home. We purchased a little trailer from them a couple of years ago (see my original review below). That trailer has been awesome, but was simply too small for us. We contacted Josh and went up there to check out what they had based on what we could spend and the size we were interested in. We looked at some cute trailers, but ultimately didn't make a decision that day. Josh suggested we wait for the show that was last month, and while we were waiting for the show I was going through their inventory online and saw the 2020 coachmen freedom express 192rbs and absolutely fell in LOVE. That little trailer has EVERYTHING I didn't know I wanted LOL! I text Josh and he agreed that it is a great coach and would be happy to show it to us at the show. We went January 25th 2020, and had no real hope of getting into anything because we assumed we wouldn't have been able to get the price as low as we needed it to be. As soon as I walked into that coach I knew it was mine. It is absolutely perfect. We decided to go look at the one that we were interested in last time, and it just wasn't going to cut it anymore. We agreed to crunch the numbers and see what happened, and not only did Josh get the payment where we needed to be, but we were even able to add on some warranty things and keep the price comfortable as well! If y'all decide you need a trailer, PLEASE go see Western Skies RV, and specifically ask for Josh Roberts. He **will** take care of you and if you find a coach you like, he will do what he can to make sure you get to take it home. We will never go anywhere else. ___________________________ UPDATE: If I could give this place ten stars I would! We just picked up our trailer! We've been seriously interested in tiny trailers, like tear drops and the like. I spotted a hard top,pop up trailer when we were passing through, so husband turned around to look at it. We saw some other trailers that were awesome, but out of our price range. Josh Roberts came out and helped us check out all the trailers, and when we let him know where we were at with down payment and what our price point was, he suggested the perfect trailer for us AND WE BOUGHT IT! So, sales department is amazing. If I can just rate them...5 stars because they're super friendly, nice and they went above and beyond to accommodate us. After purchasing our camper it has been downhill from there. We purchased our camper from out of state and the tax issue was a mess (we tried to explain this as we have purchased out of state before but they still over collected saying we were "donating to Nevada teachers"). We took our camper after waiting a week for it because it needed to be inspected. That first week of having it we realized how cheaply made this camper is (Work & Play by Forest River). I know that's not their fault but when we call asking about parts that I assume would be simple to get, especially when we just bought the camper and you get zero response....well that's disheartening especially after spending so much money. I have included pictures of the things that had literally fallen apart within the week of getting it. One of our chairs is coming completely missing a piece that holds it together. One of the USB outlets doesn't even work. It's like we need a warranty claim right after buying it. read more

During Spring and early Summer of this year I needed recall work done on the new trailer I purchased at Western Skies. Due to a series of unforeseen events, all of which were beyond my control, I was forced to cancel, and then reschedule, 5 separate appointments. A couple of these were at the very last minute. Not the greatest situation for an RV service department during a very busy time of the year. I dealt exclusively with Cody during this difficult process. Matt, Mark and the team at Western Skies RV are awesome! We ran into a situation where we had to suddenly move out of our house due to a drywall contractors negligent work. With a dog in the house we did not want to put her in a kennel so we decided an RV would be the best option. Western Skies RV pulled an RV out of storage that had been at Burning Man (really, really dirty) and had it cleaned and delivered in 24 hours.The RV we were in is not the highest quality (we were on a budget) but we would highly recommend the Western Skies RV team if you are ever in need of an RV rental. read more

I was charged for work on my camper van that was never accomplished. When I returned with questions, I was allowed to speak with the technician who claimed to have fixed it. He described his troubleshooting process led by Volta, the company that created my system and claimed it found no fault. I was confused as to why that diagnostic did not reveal the error I came in to have fixed but he insisted everything passed and was good to go. Two levels of management got involved after I demonstrated that the problem was not resolved and neither one could provide an explanation nor offer a solution other than a partial refund. Moreover, I followed up with Volta for guidance on where to go next and they stated that no one from Western Skies ever contacted them to trouble shoot my van! They were so appalled by my mishandling that they promptly removed Western Skies from their referral list to protect future customers. This company lacks integrity and is not trustworthy. Not only was our RV not repaired they waited over two weeks to call us and tell us they wouldn't have time to get to our RV and we needed to come pick it up! Sales of our 2023 Rogue toy hauler was great, but we took into the service department to havecsome issues fixed and according to the service manager Bryan, nothing was wrong with our trailer. Yet the screen door and door was stuck and could barely open. And our batteries were dead. We have solar, so they should not be dead. On our paper work, Brian stated we called him a liar. That's not customer service. He treated us like we were lying about issues. I recommend the sales department but DO NOT go 5o service department. read more

They sumerized my trailer last spring and didn't do it right. Cost me a new hot water heater. I had the work done someplace else because I figured they didn't do it right the first time so why risk having another problem. Called them after the fact to see if they would own up to it which they waffled on. Cost to fix was about $160. Asked if they would reimburse me and they wouldn't. Came back to their reviews a few times to see if they ever responded. First time it was there, now it's not. I think you can get bad reviews removed by paying Yelp otherwise, where did it go? This morning I had cause to drop my vehicle off at Diamond Autobody off the corner of So. Virginia and South Meadows Parkway. I had about an hour to kill while Diamond tended to it. Rather than waiting in Diamond's very nice lobby, I decided to cross the street on foot, basically "caddy-corner" and have a look around Western Skies lot. This is where my Review begins... I made my way though the lot, filled with many different sizes and styles of Trailers and Motor Homes to the Sales Office. I asked if there was a Salesperson that could "show me around". It was fairly apparent that "they" work with the "up system" wherein, the salespeople get "their Turn" to wait on the "next" Customer or "up"... I was Salesperson, Mark Webster Jr.'s "up". I am in my 60's, a life-long Sales and Marketing man. I know great, thoughtful, intelligent, knowledgeable, informative, patient, honest Salespeople from the opposite and the average. Those positive adjectives begin to characterize Mark. Mark spent about two hours with me. Never once did Mark try to Hustle, overly Qualify, Close or Trial Close me. He patiently and rather painstakingly spent two hours with me on the lot and in and out of as many as 15 different style Trailers and Coaches in sun-drenched, nearly 100 degree heat. The units were all "locked"; as my curiosity wandered from one unit to another, on multiple occasions, Mark would have to walk back to the office to get the keys to let me look inside. Never once did he give me a feeling that he was hassled or impatient. Each of the different units we looked at Mark had in-depth, no BS, knowledge of. He pointed out the various features of each and answered the questions I posed of each. I think he gave me one "I don't know" answer; ZERO BS. I could go on. Suffice it to say, when I'm ready to look again or Buy, I will visit Western Skies RV and ask for Mark. AND... if I were in the market to hire a Salesperson to work for / represent a Company, or my Company I would put effort into recruiting Mark. He is excellent and Western Skies MUST have something to do with it. read more

Each department ensured a crisp handoff from Sales to Finance, Parts, Vehicle Delivery and Service (in particular, the Service team is extremely knowledgeable and went out of their way to analyze a problem which was found to be with my vehicle!) BAD EXPERIENCE, POOR SERVICE, I bought a brand new travel trailer, The sales person was good and pleasant The documentation was also Smooth However the trailer was delivered dirty and unchecked, all of the plumbing was loose or broken I have fixed the water heater, the shower faucets, the kitchen sink pipes, and replaced the bathroom faucet. I have gone back to ask for help but Denis at one point told me that that was an easy fix And that he just wasn't sure if I was smart/handy enough to do it. So that's the service I received. read more
