Every person that's helped us has always been great. We truly love everything about this winery!

It was the best view of all of the wineries I've visited and based on the other reviews, I'm not wrong. They used their plot of land well to Wow their guests... I sampled quite a few wines and liked a lot of them. The ones here are apparently different than the DAOU that's in most stores and restaurants. That's a shame actually... I was here in the morning so it was freezing cold out. I'd recommend for a morning tasting, bring a jacket or something (I was there in May). But as the morning neared its end, the sun warmed things up. My wine guy brought some crackers also as I was feeling a bit queasy from guzzling wine so early. Nice touch and prevented the hallways from looking like "The Shining" too. I also enjoyed watching and playing with Cheetoh, the cat who hung around the outside. He was pretty chill and friendly. He followed my wine guy around and let me pet him (the cat, not the wine guy). I'm glad I went and was upfront about why I was there. I think he appreciated it too and he did change my mind about DAOU. I get that it's a business so you gotta sell to the masses, but make some of these others available to us common folk. If I'm ever in Paso Robles again, I'm making sure to make a reservation here and get one of those wood fired pizzas! And maybe they'll take my idea and make a Lizzie Bordeaux! The views are to die for, the breeze is lovely at the top of the hill, and everything from the ice cold water to your never empty glasses are a sign of excellent service. The food menu was also delicious -- we picked up a pizza and the chocolate dessert. We were so impressed, we left with 4 bottles... it's just basic math with the tasting fee waived ;) Also vowed to be back to sign up for a membership on our next visit. We can't wait for our second visit!

Horrible. Devasted by all the dead , taxidermy animals. Another sick dentist so proud of all the animals he slaughtered. You are surrounded by deers, lions and a polar bear and countless others. He brags that he has hundreds more at his home. This is one sick man. Couldn't even think of trying his wine but those who did said it was terrible. Hope he rots in hell where he belongs with Cecil's killer. read more

Mr. Gill demonstrates a stunning lack of understanding of the basic science of conservation by his tasting room taxidermy display of endangered top predators (lion and polar bear). If he so blatantly disregards conservation science it makes me suspect of what he puts on his vines. read more

The owner was a super cool dude, playing classic rock on the radio, who makes sure your glass is always full and you have everything you need. Intended on a quick visit, ended up staying over two hours and it felt like home. Bought a couple bottles at a great price and got the road. There is a guy standing outside and I casually ask if he happens to be with the winery. Turns out it was Matt, the owner and winemaker himself. What followed was essentially a private masterclass: he walked us through the entire winemaking process, took us into the main fermentation and storage room, did proper pours, and spent real time talking about Paso Robles and his philosophy behind his wines and the blends. No rush, no clipboard, no tour-group energy. And then he let us blend with him. Actually blend. Walking from barrel to barrel, making our own concoctions, like we knew what we were doing, which we did not, but Matt made it feel like we did. Easily the best hour we spent in Paso Robles. Possibly the best winery experience we have had in a very long time, and we have had a few. This place is the real deal, the kind of spot that reminds you why Paso Robles wine country is worth visiting beyond the Instagram backdrops. And why small family run wineries beat the big conglomerates when it comes to authentic wine making and tasting experiences. Thank you Matt. Go here. We arrived and were primarily greeted by a bunch of happy and excited doggos which are owned by the family who runs this winery. She then poured us multiple wines and they all very delicious. Throughout the tasting we were introduced to the owners son and other staff members which cemented the small family operation feel of the establishment. Kathy was our server and she is one of the daughters of the owner. She had another large group and a couple of smaller ones and she was all by herself. She did an excellent job explaining the wines and not rushing us. I was impressed with the wines so I joined the wine club. Their wines are reasonably priced and tasting fee is $30 per person but if you buy a bottle of wine it's waved. I also bought one of the small stemless wine glasses and a daughter-in-law bought one with a stem. I'm looking forward to more of their wines.
