My husband and I had been wanting to try Micas for a while. We love Peruvian food, and Micas did not disappoint! We went at 6:00 p.m. on a Sunday night, and we were seated immediately. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere that makes it good for date night or a group dinner. They also have a separate party room that seats about 30 (according to the waiter whom we asked). The food was absolutely delicious! We had Chicharrón de Calamar as an appetizer; I had the Tallarin Saltado de Mariscos as my entree, and my husband had the Saltado de Mariscos. We both loved our meals, and the portions were HUGE. My entree was enough for two huge meals. Our server was attentive at first, and then we couldn't find her when we were finished with our meal, but we saw that she had apparently been assigned to the big party in the party room, so we just flagged down another server to pay our bill. I have been to this restaurant many times it never disappoints. The food comes out fresh, hot and always delicious. The service people are there to please.Although then a few times i've been there.Where they didn't have enough staff, but it did not take away from the experience. My plate (beer shrimp pasta) was delicious. Very well seasoned with a mouth watering aroma. It paired very well with a local beer they had on tap. The vibe in the restaurant was nice, but the live band they had was a bit loud for our liking. We chose a table on the other side of the restaurant so my wife and I could have a conversation while we ate. The service was poor. When we arrived at the restaurant there was nobody to greet us at the check in table. We had to wait for a server to approach us after over 10 minutes and ask if we had been helped. Big shout out to Pedro (who was our server as well) for saving the day because if he hadn't helped us, we would have left to eat elsewhere. We lost our favorite Peruvian spot to the pandemic, sadly, so we've been searching for decent Lomo Saltado ever since. This past weekend, a family friend brought us two huge boxes of Micas's Lomo and HOLY SMOKES, this is THE best we'd ever had. The beef was the perfect cut of meat, so tender and lean and melt-in-your-mouth. The gravy was abundant and so flavorful, and the pale green creamy hot sauce was super piquant and herbaceous. I loved everything about it, no notes, 10 out of 10 stars. We're so thrilled to have found Micas and we will be back ten thousand more times. read more

The sauce should be creamy not soupy and the potatoes peeled. I am sure the owner will not eat that ..., Then, she asked for a tamale. The owner should place a complaint to the place they make them. The pork tamale was nothing but the fat of the pork. Peruvians call it "cebo". To pay $9 for "cebo"? bad. I asked for Aguadito. It was not. It was a green soup with some rice. If the owner is peruvian he should know what aguadito is. I was told that the cook is peruvian. And he's serving that ..., I betcha he will not eat that. A few months ago we visited the place. Went to this restaurant over the weekend. I have to say, the service was very good. The bartender and server were very attentive. The decor was very cute. The food it self was good. We ordered the anticuchero, bistek a la pobre, and suprema de pollo. For our party, the missing piece was chimichurri. To eat rice, steak and potatoes without sauce is pretty dry. They provided a spicy aji sauce but I did not care for that. They also provided an orange spicy sauce that was too spicy for me. I have never been to a Peruvian restaurant that didn't have chimichurri so this was a surprise to me. read more

I am peruvian and wanted to go out for steak. I came across this restaurant here on yelp. I went in with my partner not expecting much because usually it's hard to come by good authentic restaurants. Well, I was the first to review Micas when they first opened. They were establishing themselves so we allowed for improvement. We placed a phone order and I have to say I'm a little disappointed the food this time around. I ordered the papas a la huancaína again and they came prepared in small potatoes with the skin on. One of the nice things about the Peruvian papas a la huancaína is that they are peeled and boiled. The skin gives it too much of an earthy flavor and the appeal and taste just wasn't the same. Also the portion was way smaller. I didn't even finish it because the taste was different. I got the lomo de soltado, and the lomo fried rice. The portions were smaller, well hardly any meat. There was like 5 pieces in each , and it just didn't have any flavor. Also the aji sauce wasn't the same spicy and was very watery. This was the item that really won us over the first time we went. Then To top it off, what comes as a free item when you dine in- the rolls, you have to pay for to even get one and they charge you $.60 ea. fine, I'll pay that and I ordered 4. we get them and they are hard as a rock. ‍ smh. I don't get what happened here. Did you change who orders your food? Did you get a new chef? I don't know if I want to come back, and you guys had originally won us over with that sauce. We ordered an appetizer of Yuca ala Huancaina the sauce a top was basically nacho cheese sauce it wasn't the huancaina sauce that I know that my mother in law's made or I have made not even a tiny bit spicy or flavor. My husband order Bistec ala Anticucho he said the meat should have been marinated longer he only got a hint of the flavors. He said the meat was cooked perfectly just needed more marinading. The mariscos saltados was my main dish, and I would definitely order it again, it was great. Many in my party thought the pollo saltado was the best of the 3, so we all agreed that this place was worth a return. Terrible experience! We went to this restaurant with 6 people (5 adults and 1 child), and when the bill came, we saw an extra 18% "Big Party Fee". No one mentioned this fee before we ordered, and it felt like a complete rip-off. The fee was written in tiny print on the menu, it stated that an additional 18% fee is applied to "over 6 people", which clearly means 7 or more. But when I questioned it, the staff insisted that it includes 6 people, and they said they are not supposed to remind us when we were ordering. This is misleading and dishonest. It's not about the extra money--I did pay the 18% so-called "Big Party Fee" in the end, I don't care this dozens dollars. We felt cheated and completely disrespected as customers. A restaurant that pulls tricks like this does not deserve repeat business. I would not recommend this place to anyone. read more
