We went on a Friday evening, we went around 6 pm. The restaurant was pretty busy, the food came out quickly. The restaurant was clean and decor was nice too. The pork xiao long bao had a thin outer layer and the dumpling was juicy and full of flavor. The spicy beef noodle soup hit the spot. The broth was light and flavorful as well. We also got the fried pumpkin dessert as well, it's just the perfect amount of sweetness. Crispy in the outside with red bean on the inside with a brown sugar drizzle I believe. Tldr good food but not best value I have been to the santa clara location (which is temporarily closed???) and now I'm trying out the new milpitas location! The dishes here are on the smaller side and good for sharing small bites. Kind of like tapas but Chinese lol. I came with a friend and we ordered 4 dishes: - clear broth beef noodle: the soup kind of tastes like bland pho but the noodles were good and qq and we liked the amount of veggies. - chengdu zha Jiang mian: rice noodles! I liked it but my friend didn't. The sauce was really tasty! A bit sweet but you could still taste the numbing spice - pan fried pork bun: the first bun squirted lol. It was a mess. But the rest of the buns had very little to no juice relatively tasty bite though. - dumpling in spicy sweet sauce: they didn't describe the filling but it's probably pork and shrimp? We both didn't really like the sauce. It was fine but sweeter than I like my savory stuff. The wrappers were also very flimsy and all of my dumplings fillings fell out Overall the food was decent but I wouldn't come too hungry because the portions are on the smaller size. read more

Came here on Mother's Day for lunch and was surprised to get seated pretty soon after waitlisting for a party of 5! The restaurant was much larger than it looked from the outside. To order, you'll need to scan the QR menu; but to pay, you'll need to ask for the check instead of paying through the app. I ordered a spicy beef noodle soup, but it wasn't spicy at all. That wasn't a problem though, as they had hot oil placed at each table! The noodle texture was nice and chewy. With a variety of smaller plates and noodle dishes, I would highly consider coming back to try more of their stuff! read more

A last minute craving and went to Mian very last minute. Arrived at 9:15p on a Friday night (they close at 9:30p). I was grateful the staff said no problem to place an order, although all out of XiaoLongBao (Pork) and only 1 Pan Fried Dumpling left. which is understandable at the end of the night. I got the last pan fried and it was very good. I als got the beef pancake that was ok and the Beef noodle soup that was delicious. If there is one recommendation I would suggest eating the food there when it's nice and hot and of course not wait the last minute. Otherwise, Awesome Food and will definitely be back. read more

Came in to try after being advised that they were having a grand opening special. Came in a little bit after lunch rush and was seated in about 10-15 mins. Clean and decorative decor. Attentive staff and food came out quickly. Beef noodle soup was good (broth was clean and flavorful, not salty). XLB was juicy and wrapper was just right didnt fall apart. Pan fried pork bun was filled with juicy flavors inside like XLB. Thousand year old egg and tofu was interesting. Toppings gave a salty spicy taste to compliment the egg and tofu. TLDR: Good Mifen and regular noodles It's rare that both my wife and I like a place's noodles. She likes it soft and mushy. I like them chewy and "raw" (as she puts it). I think this noodle shop does both well. She got her mushy noodles, and I got my raw ones. Their XLB were decent... My mom who is Shanghainese, thought the skin could be thinner, but in general it was a good bao. I think I'm getting used to the northern-style dumplings, because I thought they tasted pretty delicious as well. A little doughy, but also a lot of filling. The dumplings I prefer the most? Shanghai-style... as my friend would say, they look like little money bags. Anyway, I digress. There is hardly any wait here... the place is quite big with a lot of tables. Also went with my sister and her family as well... every dish was completely cleaned up. Pretty much everything on the menu is great! My kids love the dumplings here. I grade a soup dumpling based on meat texture, taste, soup flavor and wrap. Meat taste and texture is good here as well as the dumpling wrap. The soup is way too sweet imo. Tried both the pork and pork mixed with crab. Most of the dishes have a sweetness to it. The noodle quality is qq. The popcorn chicken was pretty bad imo. It had an overpowering taste of some type of spice that resembled cumin mixed with curry. Loved the soy milk was refreshing. read more

Checked out the new Mian in Milpitas tonight and wow... this location hits different. Not only do they have their usual noodles, but they also added buns, dumplings, and xiao long bao to the menu. We came mainly for the buns, but the real surprise was the XLB, super thin skin, flavorful chicken‑y broth, absolutely delicious. Felt like discovering a hidden gem, so of course we ordered a second basket on the spot. I first saw Mian at their Santa Clara location with a long line out the door but never had a chance to stop by, so I'm glad there's now another easily accessible location. This one is located in a very busy plaza with the popular Korean restaurants a couple doors down. We came for an early dinner and were seated right away. You scan a QR code for the menu and place your order in that fashion. The food arrived fairly quickly. We shared the beef pancake roll, xlb, spicy beef noodle soup, and spicy wontons. Everything was very tasty! I wish we had more stomach space to try more dishes. They allow you to choose the spice level for certain items, but I'd say the medium spicy wasn't spicy to us at all. There is plenty of indoor seating and had a nice bamboo decor touch. read more

We tried the Mian over in Santa Clara and were happy with the food. We were looking for Asian noodles for dinner and pleasantly surprised to find that there was this new location in Milpitas. We arrived around 7 to find a long line out the door - it was their Grand Opening weekend, and noodles were 50% off. It took about 30 minutes to be seated. The table spacing is not too crowded. The interior is brightly lit and open. The atmosphere is bustling but not distracting. Slightly sad to see that Layang Layang, the Malaysian restaurant that formerly occupied the space had closed - not a lot of choices for Malaysian food in Milpitas. Apparently the owner decided to retire and go home to Malaysia. But the staff stayed on, so you will see a few Malaysian noodle dishes on the menu at this location! Ordering is done by QR code. The food came out in short order. Service is efficient. The good thing about the location is that it has a large kitchen where they can steam baos. So we ordered a tray of xiao long bao. I am glad we did, because they were good. Thin skinned, but still able to hold in the copious amount of soup in the dumplings. We ordered the za jiang noodle (mild), the spicy beef noodle (mild), and the clear beef noodle. Both spicy noodle dishes were delicious, and benefited from a spoonful of their spicy chili oil. The clear beef noodle reminded me of a cloudy pho broth. The thick wheat noodles were pliant and softly chewy. Portion sizes are enough for a single adult. My favorite was the za jiang. We emptied the bowls of that and the spicy beef noodle. Even if the noodles weren't 50% off, the prices are reasonable. We will definitely be back. read more

So excited there's a Mian in Milpitas now! The food was great and we ordered a variety of dishes: - veggie cold combo (10/10) - the cucumbers were perfectly vinegary, but not too overwhelming and slightly spicy; the wood ear mushrooms were very tasty and garlicky; the tofu skin and celery were also delicious - juicy wagyu beef onion pie (10/10) - juicy beef patty surrounded by a crispy thin layer of bread. so good. - soy milk (9/10) - good soybean flavor and the perfect sweetness for me, though my parents found it a bit too sweet - chicken gizzard noodle (8/10) - very flavorful, mild was a bit too spicy for me (but I can't handle spice) - pan fried pork buns (7/10) - crispy and juicy, but fairly average compared to the other dishes Our waitress was amazing and so friendly! She gave us recommendations, kept checking in on us and also spoke Cantonese, Mandarin and English! You can order through ToastTab via QR code or directly with the staff. The noodles were excellent with the perfect chew with a hint of ma-la, not too overpowering. Their dumpling in special sweet and spicy sauce was excellent. Their chew of the skin was notable without it being too thick and chewy. My father grew up in Sichuan and he used to make a similar dish, and it totally reminded me of him and that special super dark soy sauce he used to pull out to make this type of dumpling. I really enjoyed this place. Have been there 3 times already. Highly recommend! read more

This is their newest location that has only been open for about 3 weeks now. Pretty good food with very nice and attentive staff. I would say the only downside would be that the employee told us that we would be getting free dessert as part of their valentines special but we never saw that dessert. Other than that, everything was great and I have no complaints! Suggest trying them out! Their wonton soup was very good and truly hit the spot. Their soup dumplings were also extremely delicious. Tried this spot recently- mixed experience. The beef noodle soup was pretty bland (I've definitely had better) and the pork & crab xiaolongbao had bits of crab shells in them, which wasn't great. We ordered the beef roll pancake and spicy beef noodle soup. We got there an hour before lunch hour closing and food came out quickly. It's funny how the Asian waitstaff just plopped the bowl of noodles down and the Hispanic waitstaff brought it with a smile and said "enjoy". Onto the delicious food! The rolls were crispy and the beef was tender add the cucumber made it taste fresh, very tasty. The noodle fish was n mildly spicy, nice chew to the noodles with tender beef w/tendon. Liked the bok choy as well, not overly cooked that had a nice crunch. I would definitely go back to try other menu items. Bathrooms were clean as well. FYI 4.5 stars read more

As someone from Chengdu, I'm very picky about Sichuan food -- but this was the real deal. The beef noodle broth was deep and properly braised, the chili oil rich and layered, and even the cold tofu and smashed cucumbers tasted bold and authentic. Nothing was watered down. read more

Having a quick lunch at Mian Sichuan Noodles and Dumplings since they have opened one location here in Milpitas, Ca . From their delicious dumplings to the flavor bomb beef chili dumplings and their wagyu onion pie everything was very flavorful and the service was quite pleasant the staff were very accommodating, patient and kind enough to give recommendations and suggest on certain dishes and they were very informative and did not disappoint large portions, and had a wide variety of handmade filled dishes . We went to Mian twice over the grand opening weekend. The first time, we accidentally stumbled on the opening day. We ordered three noodle bowls and the xlb. All dishes were delicious with the beef noodle soup being the most flavorful - the soup had nice depths of flavor, but next time we will get it more spicy (we ordered mild spicy and it wasn't spicy at all). The zhajiang noodles were also very good with just the right amount of numbing mala spice after I added some extra chili sauce from the condiment bowl. The xlb is one of the better ones we've had. Thin skinned w ample juices. Overall, such a good experience that we came back the next night. We ordered the Szechuan cold noodles w shredded chicken and that one slayed! The flavors were fresh and powerful. We also tried the pork pan fried buns-not as satisfying as the xlb. Overall, staff were friendly and efficient and the food hit all the right spots! read more

First time trying Mian and learned they recently opened this new location. Food was delicious and satisfied my cravings for beef noodle soup and dumplings. Beef noodle soup was delicious with a spicy kick (you can select your level of spice) and it was perfect! A decent amount of tender meat and veggies. Dumplings were equally as delicious, best part is you can buy frozen ones to cook at home too. Staff were attentive and very friendly. Service was great.
