Mi Tradición located on the south end of a strip mall on 183 has a bakery and eatery co-located together. They do both takeout and dine-in. For dine-in, it's counter serve. Place your order up front, and then wait for them to call your name. A few menus are available for reference, but they also have cling-wrapped display plates that show you what certain dishes look like. There are some choice items that are pretty tasty. On the kitchen side, they primarily fashion blue corn masa into different shapes and sizes for holding a variety of toppings. Their tacos listed on their menu are a different. They are small in size, and not blue, and they only offer steak and pastor fillings. They come with lime, packets of salsa, and non-uniform radish slices. I prefer the options that come with blue. I like their quesadilla de calabacitas, and huaraches and picaditas order with their chicken tinga or chicharron en salsa roja. It's difficult to go wrong with any of their options. Their tacos de arroz are interesting. It's a blue corn tortilla filled with rice, and then something more substantial. I ordered a chile relleno one. The chile relleno was fried; so their tacos de arroz are on the heavier side. Once you order, you can pretty much sit where every you'd like. Mi Tradición has the key to my heart and this bakery is hands down one of the best panaderias I've been to. This bakery features plenty of different options including churros, pan dulce, empanadas, donuts, pastel, bolillos, and so much more. There are many things that make me love Mi Tradición. One of those things is the wide selection of amazing baked goods. From conchas to churros to cakes to empanadas, there is genuinely something for anyone here. Not only is the selection huge, but they are very affordable. And it's so fun just to throw stuff on your tray, even if you don't know what it is! Besides the bakery, the food side is solid as well. I've gotten tacos in the past and had to try the tortas. While the torta isn't the best I've ever had, it's definitely fantastic and one that I would want again. There are a variety of flavors to try so I'm looking forward to it! I'd had Mi Tradicion on my list of places to check out for ages, and I'm kind of kicking myself for not trying it sooner. The right side of the business has a counter to order mains and has restaurant seating. I ordered an al pastor taco, which was good, although there ended up being a fair amount of gristle in the meat, and a tinga (shredded chicken) quesadilla. If you haven't had a legit quesadilla, this would be a good place to introduce yourself to the non-Americanized version. It comes on their homemade blue corn tortilla, and had an almost creamy interior between the cheese, beans, sour cream, and juicy chicken. Absolutely killer. I also got horchata, and was possibly the sweetest one I've had, but I love sugar so I was ok with that. Definitely more of a slow sip than a gulp it down situation though. After the meal, my friend and I headed over to the left side of the interior--the bakery. The walls were filled with an overwhelming variety of pastries, cake slices, churros, etc. You grab a metal tray and tongs from a stand in the middle, fill it up, and then head over to the bakery checkout counter to pay. Unfortunately, by the time I had narrowed down what I wanted, the churros were all gone, so I'll have to try those next time. The pastry that knocked my socks off was the guava empanada (which my friend said was shaped like a ship from Star Wars.) Thin, flaky pastry surrounds a really generous amount of guava paste, and the taste is like nothing else. I popped mine into the air fryer to heat it up before eating it, which I highly recommend doing. The iced vanilla cake slice, oreja (flaky puff pastry shaped like a heart), and polvoron (crumbly shortbread cookie) were all good as well. I also got the chocoflan, which was a miss for me. The chocolate cake on the bottom was good, but the flan on top was executed poorly. The outer two thirds had a tough texture with big air bubbles, meaning the heat was way too high when it was baked, and only the inside third of the flan was silky and smooth. Overall, can't wait to go back and try more delicious things, but I'll definitely be buying the guava empanada and quesadilla when I go back :) P.S., if you're unfamiliar with most of the Hispanic baked goods, and like to look up info (like I do) so you're not walking in totally blind, you can go to their website to google the different pastries they offer ahead of time. I've heard a lot of good things about the Panadería which is the bakery attached to the restaurant and I finally got to try their restaurant attached aka Mi Tradición! The food was well-priced and there were many options to choose from. I went with friends and we ordered the Al Pastor Tacos, Cubana Torta, and Submarino plate. The food was very flavorful and the meat was not dry at all! I also got their Horchacta which was more on the cinnamon-y side which was refreshing. A tip for finding the restaurant is just to look for the big Panadería sign there's a little sign on the window that says Mi Tradición but it's not as visible. Another tip when ordering food is that you can't see their full menu on their TVs but you can find it taped to the side of where the cashier is. I came here for their pan dulce (Mexican sweet bread). I tried a concha and a yoyo. Conchas are probably the most popular and recognizable traditional Mexican pan dulce, but for the uninitiated, I would describe them as soft and sweet bread with a white streusel topping that resembles the surface of a seashell. Growing up these were my favorite pan dulce, and the ones at Mi Tradición taste just like the ones you can find in Mexican panaderías. Much less famous, yoyos are made from two pieces of bread held together by a thin layer of buttercream and coated with butter and powdered sugar. They look like yo-yo's, hence the name, and they're also known as besos (which means kisses, because the two pieces of bread are kissing each other). This was my first time trying yoyos, so I don't have a point of comparison. I thought they were tasty, but my all-time favorite pan dulce remains the concha. I bought these at the end of the day, so both were a little hard, but I heated them up in the oven and that softened them up to perfection. Warming up pan dulce is a game changer. I've also tried a slice of their tres leches cake. They have three options: strawberry, mocha, or durazno (peach). I tried the tres leches that comes with strawberries. I thought it was good, but not mind-blowing. Mi Tradición has a wide selection of pan dulce and you can't beat their prices (I paid $2.50 for two pieces of pan dulce). The only downside is that none of the pan dulce is labeled, and the staff speaks mostly Spanish. Overall, it's a great panadería. I can't wait to try their tacos and tortas. read more

I usually go to Heb or Sam's for my cakes but I decided to try this .. and I'm very disappointed.. got a cake 41dollars and cents .. got it on Friday afternoon the bday was saturday, the cake was not good anymore it was bad and was kept in the fridge all night .. I called them on Monday afternoon to let them know ..and they told me to bring them the cake I drove from Pflugerville to Mi Tradición Panaderia and once there they told me that they could not replace it nor return my money .. they could not have told me this on the phone I had to waste my time and drive for them to tell me they could do anything .. so upsetting left them the cake there what was I going to do with it ..
