Drinks were great, food was good, overall it was a good experience. We did have to ask for stuff a couple times though which is a little frustrating. Our server was training someone so there was really no excuse because 2 people heard our requests. The manager was super friendly and kind to our children. We heard amazing things so our expectations were high! I'm not sure it was a stand out compared to other places. We will return but might try a happy hour without the kids read more

The margaritas here are all hand crafted and exquisite! With so many options it's so hard to pick a favorite. I can tell you that their tableside guacamole is the best in town - spoiler it has BACON! I usually ask for cucumber slices to use instead of chips with my guacamole and you would be amazed how much you will love that combo. As for entrees - everything is good. But I love their duck options!! The duck carnitas tacos are out of this world - make sure you use the sauce they provide on the side. read more

I managed to make it to this part of town last weekend and than means coming to Mi Dia! Once again, it did not disappoint. I can tell it has gotten super-crowded here these days and a reservation is a must especially on the weekends. I saw Ronnie the manager and he still runs the place like a champ. He remembered me when I walked in, called me by my name and shook my hand. How do they do that?! I brought 5 friends with me who had never been there before and they all loved it. Hayley was our server and she was upbeat with cool personality. She took us through the featured menu items and then she says "kobe steak sliders, with hatch chile sauces, topped with a quail egg and cilantro"... like "wait wait what did you say yes I will try those!" She brought them to the table and they are fan-freaking-tastic!! These are my new thing whatever chef put these on the menu give them a raise! We loved them and were fighting over the last couple. This place still rocks!!! Call ahead! read more

Food is a little pricey but it's not your typical Mexican restaurant for sure. Their menu is very different and all of their food taste really good. Been here 3 or 4 times and service never disappoints. Can get really busy on weekends but never much of a wait if you come when it's not peak lunch or dinner time. Worth checking out for sure!!!! read more

Came here for a work lunch and overall I was pleased with the service and food. Giving 4 stars because price is a little bit on the high side for what it's really worth. I ordered the Stacked Enchiladas for lunch, which was good in flavor, but surprisingly spicy. And I'm usually one to love spicy food and order it on occasion but it got to a point where I had to quit eating because my mouth was on fire, which seems really odd to not call it spicy if it is. I've also seen many instances at this particular place where others had commented on having overly spicy food, especially with anything that has 'hatch chiles' in it. Rice and beans were very generic but the table side guacamole and salsa were excellent! I'd go back just for the appetizers but wouldn't bother if you really don't like anything overly spicy. read more

Ordered a salad with dressing on the side but it was delivered with no dressing. When I pointed it out to the waiter he argued with me that the dressing was on the salad. I asked him to please just bring me some dressing, but when I got the bill, he had charged me for dressing! I had the manager remove it from the bill, but I did not appreciate the arguing from the waiter not the extra charge for dressing on my salad. And for $20 the salad wasn't even that good, even with the dressing. read more

I don't know that I have ever left a review before - but this place knocked it out of the park - so it is worth reviewing! We arrived at 6pm and were seated promptly. Our waitress came right over and was friendly and knowledgeable. We asked for a recommendation for our appetizer, and she suggested the guac. OH MY GOSH it was incredible. Not only does a chef wheel his cart up to your table and make it before your eyes, but it also tastes incredible. Why I never thought about putting bacon in guac is beyond me! Our waitress came back and gave us a brief overview of the menu. I decided on the carne asada - and it did NOT disappoint! The meat was tender, with a smoky flavor and absolutely delicious! My husband order some sort of shrimp fajitas and the shrimp was wrapped in bacon - AMAZING! As we were closing out the night, Ron the manager on duty stopped by our table to check in and see how everything tasted. We assured him it was wonderful and we would be back! He then said he likes to buy all his first time customers dessert and offered us churros or sopapilla. We asked his recommendation, and he said go with the churros (which we did). Let me just tell you - they were incredible! Warm, delicious and filled with caramel - so so so good! It even came with a small side of ice cream! Well if you've made it this far, it should be clear we left with full bellys and extremely satisfied. The ambiance, food, and service were all incredible - and we will be back! read more

Move over Mi Cocina. Mi Dia is my new favorite Tex-Mex restaurant in Dallas. This place is so f-ing good. Went with the fam bam. Queso Fundido-A-M-A-Z-I-N-G (you know it's damn good when you hyphenate between letters lol). GET THIS. I love how the server cuts up the cheese and folds it into the tortilla. It's served with two sauces and it's warm, cheesy, gooey and DELICIOUS. Easily our favorite dish. Guacamole-Get everything on it, including the bacon. A little more lime than I would like (you could always ask for less), but I enjoyed the presentation table-side. Pollo Agave-this dish is great (rec'ed by our server). Hard to explain what it tasted like, but it's basically a Tex-Mex version of fettucine alfredo with a kick of tequila. My brother in law loved my dish more than his. Definitely a dish to try if you're wanting to be adventurous. Overall, I love the atmosphere that Mi Dia provides. From presentation of every dish to the service, this definitely takes the cake as my favorite go-to Tex Mex restaurant. I am definitely coming back to try more dishes and their drinks! read more

We had a reservation and were seated immediately. I wish I could remember our waiter's name but it escapes me. He was awesome and had lots of good suggestions. We were a little overwhelmed with the drink options so just ordered house margaritas on the rocks which were very good, next time we will spend more time looking at the drink menu as they had a lot of interesting sounding options. It was just two of us so we hesitated to order the table side guacamole as I had read that it was a larger order. In spite of that we did order it and had no regrets. It was easily the best guacamole I have had at any restaurant. We did finish it and ended up taking some of our meal home. I had the Tequila Pesto Enchiladas and they were also very good. Awesome place and can't wait to return and try something new off the great menu! lol Edited to add: We returned this weekend and both had street tacos. Mine were the Baja Shrimp and were incredible! Once again had the table side quac. This is our new favorite read more

Nice Ambience but Expensive... We really enjoyed sitting on the patio at Mia Dia. There is a big fountain out there in the courtyard that is nice to look at and relaxing to hear. And, when it gets dark they light some really cool looking gas lights. So, we enjoyed the ambience for sure. As for the food, the quality is definitely there, so you'd expect to pay more. But the balance between the increase in quality and increase in price is not there for me. Have spoken to some friends about this place and they shared the same sentiment. I seldom eat the rice at Mexican places, but the rice here was excellent, very fresh herb tasting. Salsa was good too. If they lowered their prices we might go back. read more

The food was subpar and the kitchen was very slow in getting the food out. We literally sat for 1 hour and 30 minutes waiting for our dinner to come out. The waiter told us the kitchen was backed up. Oh well, maybe hire more cooks. The waiter was really nice but it was out of his control that the food didn't come out at reasonable timely manner. Also, we ordered Sopapillas for dessert and the waiter came back to tell us that the the pastry cook didn't even start making them so they wasted another 20 minutes of our time waiting for no dessert. I got shrimp fajitas to go. Was pretty non-plussed. Shrimp was okay, not much in the way of seasoning. About 70% sautéed onions. Really it was more of an onion fajita. I'm also not a tinfoil fan, and the blue corn tortillas were wrapped tightly in it. I get metallic taste when I was out of foil. Rice was rice, beans were watery. Main dish packed in styrofoam. From the upscale nature of the menu, I was expecting better. read more

The restaurant is run super efficiently, but it is also very popular. This was our first time here, so it was surprising that it took longer to get our table than it did to get drinks, order, and get food. The salsa is excellent. Not mushy cooked salsa, it is thin with pieces of onion, cilantro, etc.... We loved the flavor, but there's definitely plenty of onion. Husband ordered a frozen margarita which he said was "limey and lush" with the perfect amount of salt. On our Deluxe Carne Asada and Carnitas plates, the meat was the star of the show. Beans, tortillas, rice, guac, cheese enchilada, and pico were all good, but the pork and beef were excellent. The marinade used on the carnitas left bright citrus hues. The asada was tender. The sopapilla was the most buttery tasting sopapilla I've ever had. The custom tables and chairs reflect the pride taken in having a nice space. This is for take out only. We did not eat in the restaurant because it was far from meeting the 50% capacity limit. I wish we had because the food is so much better eating in the restaurant. If you are getting to-go, the fajitas and quesadillas are great. The chips are perfectly crunchy and not oily. The Chicken Nachos however, are better skipped for take out. They take a great big chip, smear a teaspoon of refried beans with a tiny bit of cheese then put a hammered piece of white (already grilled) chicken breast on top. Then they put it into a broiler or something that dehydrates the entire thing until you end up with chicken jerky on top of dehydrated bean flour on top of a dried out chip. I have ordered it twice thinking the first time surely was a fluke. It was not. Also, they do not offer online ordering. You will have to call the restaurant to place your order. The Guy who answered was very polite but they evidently do not offer them access to a computer that calculates totals. He said they would have the total when we pick up the order. However, he was happy to take my credit card info over the phone. Um yea no thanks. I would prefer, to not have my credit card info written down and carried around a restaurant for all of the staff (and other random people) to access. Anyway, the dog loved the chicken jerky and we will stick to the fajitas and quesadillas in the future. read more

I cannot write enough words to say how much I dig this place. I got hooked on the tacos the first time we ordered to-go. First of all, chips and salsa are delicious. Chips have a nice crunch and are not oily where you're left with grease marks on your fingers. The salsa is a half/half of red and green. We usually just mix it altogether and it's sooo good! When we had the chance to eat at the restaurant, we ordered a few other things in addition to the tacos. I created my own combo and had an enchilada, flauta, and chalupa. The chalupa was huge - not what I was expecting. The flauta was even bigger - so cripsy, packed with flavor, and I wish I ordered 5 more. The enchilada was good, but nothing out of the ordinary. If I had to order the combo plate again, I'd order all flautas or a combo of flautas and chalupas. The tacos were the winner winner chicken dinner of the night. Chicken tacos and duck tacos were both amazing! You can tell their ingredients truly are made from scratch and fresh. I just wanted to ask for more corn tortillas to take home! I can't believe it took me so long to try this place and am glad I did. I think after our first to-go order, we visited twice more within the week! read more

Decided to check this place out for lunch on Sunday to see what the hype was about. To summarize food was good but the service was terrible! Our waiter George came by and poured us tea when we wanted water then asked if we wanted tea instead...answer was no. Then we put in our order of queso and our meal. 30 minutes later the meal arrives and the queso was forgotten. Never came by to refill our drinks. Once we were done eating it took some time before he came by and asked if we wanted dessert - we responded no just the check. Another 20 mins roll by still no check. Finally a manager came by our table and asked if we needed anything and again we said just the check. After another 10 mins the waiter finally comes by with the check and didn't acknowledge the fact that he made us wait or forgot the queso. Just seemed like he didn't care. Needless to say was disappointed with the service but food was good...would give it another try. read more

I've never felt it necessary to Yelp until my experience here last night. I was having a rare night out on the town with my wife. A friend had suggested this place for margaritas. Wow! What a selection. Our waiter Brittany suggested a watermelon infusion.. My wife loved it! We were also directed to the New Mexico sauces available on the menu. I had a the steak and poblano pepper.. The flavors have never been so perfect. Hats off to the chef. Brittany was very attentive and seemed happy to be there. Ron who I assume was management stopped by and made sure we were doing well, chatted us up about his chef and suggested the Churros for desert... Another Bulls Eye ! As I was watching the Olympics, having great conversation with my wife, I realized what a great experience I was having.. Thank you for a great night. read more

Had dinner there Sunday night 11/15/2020 - the place looks super clean and prepped - everyone was doing their do diligence to cover their faces and wear gloves due to covid. The food was great, Modelo's were cold, and Ernesto our server was very kind and patient. We sat on the patio with the heat lamps on. It was very comfortable sitting outside even when the sun set and the temperature was dropping. This is a nice place to visit, easy access off the North Dallas Tollway. Me like.... ok. This is weird - why did you make it sound like it was free? I guess that is becoming the norm to pay for a birthday dessert. Their dessert menu didn't sound that interesting to me. So something to consider if you're coming for a celebration. Did end up getting the carrot cake, which is not something I would opt for. but it was moist. Super quiet on a Sunday night. Didn't even need to make reservations. Complimentary chips and salsa is always a plus. And the server asked if we wanted more and came with refills. Shrimp ceviche (~$20) and good for one person I feel. It's on the appetizer menu though. You're going to spend $20 per person here on food. I liked the food. The menu has so many tasty offerings and the food was delicious. However, the prices are, in my opinion, steep for street size food. My Mahi Mahi taco was delicious, but it was small. I was still hungry and could have easily ordered a second or even third taco BUT at $11 for one taco that was too steep for lunch. Instead, Dani and I PAID to split chips + salsa - not free, but a paid appetizer. Our server was so quiet we had trouble hearing him and he mostly left us to ourselves, occasionally dropping by to fill waters. Dream Tacos has excellent food, but the portion sizes and cost are far too steep for this area and for being a taco joint. Sadly, I don't think they will last at these ptoces in this location.
