Mi Dios! This was so good! I had the ceviche appetizer to start, and loved it. Perfect amount of spice to warm up my taste buds. I got the Pollo Agave for my main meal. It was also wonderful: chicken in cream sauce topped with squash. I loved it! Unfortunately, I did not have dessert because I had about 5 bowls of chips. Next time! A little pricey, but they have an impressive selection and it's all beuno! read more

We have been going to Mi Dia for years. We always enjoyed the good food and service. I was terribly disappointed by today's experience. The food was flavorless, poorly prepared, and the portions have changed (much smaller) from before. The service was unfriendly, rushed and careless. Food not timed from the kitchen correctly. It was a horrible experience where I think I going to buy a Tex Mex cook book and eat at home. read more

I have always like Mi Día but today's host (young male) needs to either find a new attitude. 7:45 pm Saturday June 25

Expensive. Expensive Food is good. Service was ok. Decor is nice. But Mexican food at this price point has better be pretty spectacular. It wasn't. Just good. And expensive. read more

Well, I gave this place a second shot and it failed to impress yet again. Beware! If you want a soft drink it will come in the can and you will be charged for each individual can. So, if you order one drink it sparingly. It is cold in here again. And fyi queso fundido is not a dip, but melted cheese and chorizo with poblanos brought to your table and then all folded over itself, only to be spread into pieces and spread over tortillas that will then be rolled up. Ugh. Never coming back. read more

Went with a friend in town, and it actually wasn't too crazy packed for a Monday. Food- Started with the tableside guacamole which was very good. You get what you pay for, and it is a lot. For entrée I had the Al Carbon tacos and Mole enchiladas and both were very flavorful. The Al Carbon tacos are something I would definitely reorder. Drinks- I had the Godfather which was recommended by the waitress, and it was very smoothe not bad. I also tried the Mi Dia rita, and that wasn't too bad either. I think the drink prices are a little steep around $15 for the Godfather. Atmosphere- Now here is where they get an extra star! The patio is beautiful. I can't wait until spring Saturdays. When it is cold they even have heaters! The restaurant in general is beautiful. read more

...we finally tried this location last night, several of my friends had been to the Grapevine location and loved the food. I called and made reservations earlier that day for 6:30, when we arrived the restaurant was packed, but we were seated right away. We had a good experience , our chips and salsa were good ...loved the mixed salsa, we also ordered some Chile con queso. I ordered the Juanita(two enchiladas, taco and tamale)...I had several choices for the combination sauces/meats for the enchiladas and also different choices for he rice . I also ordered the dia frozen margarita...tasty so I had a couple of more :) Everything was sooo good, we were so full we didn't event order dessert , we will be back..good location...and close to our house! read more

During a family reunion weekend in Dallas, the top priority for all of the out of towners was to get some good Tex Mex. Though this place is a bit too classy to be considered classic Tex Mex, it totally still hit the spot and I was very impressed. Don't get me wrong, they still have indulgent dishes like chalupas and chimichangas, but they also have a beautiful salmon dish and a wonderful soup and salad combo. The highlight of my visit was the tableside guac. I thought I had chosen all of the ingredients myself, but I must have been looking the other way when they added the crack because I'm telling you I've never had such amazing guac, and I could not stop eating it! The other surprise was the enchilada. Something came over me and I decided to go with the spinach enchilada instead of your typical chicken or cheese, and I was really impressed by it! The spinach was so flavorful and fresh, and it was a really nice contrast to the melty cheese and rice and beans. I wish more places would offer this option! All of this was nicely washed down with my Mexican Candy drink, which is a mango margarita with a spicy salt rim. It tasted like real mangoes and was dangerously tasty! The servers did a great job waiting on a huge group and were gracious about splitting checks where needed. They did mess up one of our orders but they immediately offered to fix it, and we actually decided to keep the mistake dish instead and ended up really liking it so it all worked out for the best :) read more

Most friends and family let me choose the restaurant when we go out to eat as I am the only vegan. I'd read Mi Dia offered vegan options. So my oldest daughter and I tried this place for lunch today. Crispy chips and spicy salsa. Fresh, delicious guacamole made table side. Rich, interesting coffee from Mexico. My huitlacoche tacos (prepared vegan for me) were tender, juicy, and flavorful. My daughter said her chipotle chicken chimichanga was just as good. Then we shared hot, fresh, sweet cinnamon / sugar sopapillas for dessert. The food was amazing. And the customer service was top notch. WE WILL BE BACK!! read more

As our meal progressed, I was writing a 5 star review in my head. Why only 4? I'll get to that later. This place is already very very busy and trendy. We had a 40 minute wait for a table for 4 on a Friday night. The tower of tequila at the bar is the centerpiece for the place, but I think the outdoor patio is the star when the weather is nice. It faces a lovely cascading water fountain. We started with the table side guacamole and the yelp did not lead us astray. $14 is a lot for guacamole, but it was delicious. I've seen bacon in guacamole before, but never sun dried tomatoes. They used perfectly ripe avocados and everything that went in was top notch. To my surprise, the leftovers tasted just as good the next day too! My husband really enjoyed his chili rellano stuffed with carnitas, I had the ox eyes enchilladas - it was very tasty and too much to finish. The kids had a crispy taco and mexican pizza plates - the mexican pizza was both their favorite. Drinks are expensive but worth it. My husband liked his house margarita. I had one with a good anejo tequila and grand marnier - very smooth. For dessert we ordered churros. A plate with 4 pieces of churro and a tiny scoop of ice cream, artfully arranged was placed in front of us. We got 4 dessert plates and no spoon/fork. So we sat there, watching our ice cream melt. Asked 2 different waiters as they passed. Exactly half of our ice cream melted before we received the long awaited spoons - no one took note. Then the bill came. . .here are things that leave a bad taste in my mouth: 1) we were charged to substitute beans for 1 oz of corn *no warning* 2) per the menu, kids meals were supposed to come with a soda and sopapillas. We never got the sopapillas and we were charged $6 per kids plastic cup of lemonade. again, no warning We needed to get home so I did not find out about any of this till we were in the car. I loved the food and I would even go back, but 5 stars are reserved for perfection and with the abundance of great Mexican food around, this place needs to not pull shenanigans like this. read more

Mi Dia is nice place to go on special occasions. But for the price you can go to a lot of other place that served just as good but cheaper. They have a large selection of tequila, and they have infused tequila which is a really good. Get the flight if you have no idea what to get. Food here however are small portions and all are at lease 15 or more. Get the table side guacamole! It's good and big portions feed 4-6 people and it's 15 bucks. Overall this place is fairly good, but pricey. read more

Well We were all a bit disappointed here. Great location. We waited an hour. At least one hour for 3 people to eat this very basic Mexican food. They do have a unique and wider variety of menu options here. That's good. But the basics such as chips...yes chips and street tacos were honestly not nearly as good as let's say Taco diner, MI Cocina, etc. We're not coming back. This place isn't worth the hassle. read more

Chips and salsa are big for me and theirs are the best I've had in a long time! The sea bass taco I stole from my friend was amazing, but my duck tacos were very good as well. Our server Haylie knew everything there is to know about the menu and made great recommendations! read more

Good food and friendly staff. Really casual and food is always fresh and on point. Favorite is the seafood enchilada and fajita plates. Table side guac is also good, but bit on the pricier side because it is made on the spot. Drinks are on par. Bit pricy for mexican food, but i think its worth the price as far as taste is concerned. Have not had bad visits there so far. read more

They have a vegetarian menu which is a list of the six things in their regular menu that are vegetarian. It also includes the six things that are gluten free. I got the relleno and it was very good. Lots of different tastes in the dish. I usually judge a Mexican restaurant by their salsa and chips. The salsa (red ) was so hot I lost the taste for a while in my tongue. I asked if they had a more gringo friendly salsa and was told that was it. THe green salsa is cooler but I don't like green salsa. My wife got the blue corn tower. The ingredients were excellent. The blue corn tortillas needed to be crunchier or softer. They were hard and chewy. We got the sopapillas with ice cream for desert. The desert was excellent! For two vegetarians the bill was over 50 dollars without tip. Not a cheap Mexican restaurant. Ate there again today. Jan 2017. Same review. read more

What's nice about this place is just about everything. Please at and helpful staff location and obviously the food. I had the enchiladas Del Mar and they were simply outstanding. Our waiting was patient and very helpful. The menu is not huge, they simply focus on making really good meals with reasonable portions. read more

Shiny new location with attentive and friendly service, great selections of authentic Mexican and Tex Mex food. What I like about the service here is that it is a collaborate effort from the entire staff, they all chip in to help each other regardless who is the server is for the table. As soon as you sit down at your table, chips and house made salsa is placed on your table immediately! I have been to this location once for lunch and once for dinner and the service is pretty consistent. I love love love the sea bass fish tacos, it comes with 3 tacos, rice and beans! I have to learn how to pace myself with the chips/ queso/ salsa so I can finish my plate next time I get it! read more

Pleasantly surprised! I didn't know what to expect because it's on the outskirts of Dallas in a smaller town. I LIKE the look of the restaurant because typically when you go to a lot of Mexican restaurants it just feels old and the decor is in poor taste/tacky. The ambience is also great they have a bar that's in the center so if you have to wait you can hang out over there the, cocktails look and taste awesome. They are super busy so just be aware of that, if you have time restrictions. They make the guacamole fresh chair side. The food was really good and in good proportions (I had spinach enchiladas. The salsa that comes initially with the chips was really good but spicy so if you can't handle spicy I'd be weary of the salsa. Bottom line I would definitely come back!! read more

Great food and ambience. We can here for lunch on a Sunday and fortunately, the expected brunch/post-church crowd hadn't taken over. Parking was a little tight but we got lucky. The complimentary salsa and chips is always a good indicator of the restaurant. The chips weren't oily and the salsa was a mix of tomatillo and a red salsa. Definitely spicy!! My in-laws shared the quesadillas and they really enjoyed it. Though we didn't get the table side guac, the portion of guac on their dish was plentiful, creamy and tasted fresh. What they really liked was it was more than just cheese... had spinach and mushroom as well. I got the tortilla soup which I really enjoyed... spicy, plenty of chunky tidbits. I'm glad I asked for the tortilla strips on the side (I really don't like when they are piled up on top of the soup and then get all soggy) because they had an oily after taste. The hubs got the soup and two a la carte chicken soft tacos. All in all, a good experience. Service was prompt and attentive, food was good and as expected. Look forward to coming back! read more

The shrimp tacos were so good as well as all the other street tacos that I expected to taste like Tex-Mex has actually a very authentic taste. I have been to Mi Dia in Plano a couple of times with friends and family for lunch. They never disappoint! They have the best specialty drinks, especially the Blueberry Habanero Margarita!! Food was tasty, but a little expensive when comparing it to the other Mexican restaurants around. The reason I gave it three stars was because our server was extremely pushy and made the experience pretty bad. It felt like he was a used car salesman. On a positive note, the drinks were tasty. We will probably go back for appetizers and drinks as long as we don't get the same server. It had a nice environment for a date night or hanging out with friends on the patio. read more

Worst service to date. I use to drive to Grapevine for the atmosphere. Today is gorgeous. Ran by for brunch after errands. Hosts would not seat me on the patio where I wanted, however sat next guest there. The hostesses with the overly drawn eyebrows really needs to be in back or Tony n Guy. At least after 30 minutes she was the only one who asked me for my order...which was completely wrong. Worst Bloody Mary ever. I am only going to give the bar (who has always been awesome) one more chance. Then if that fails....I pray Mi Dia Plano fails. I eat a lone and I tip a lot. Normally. #midiaplaosucks read more

Wow! I am not sure if we were just hungry or if these were the best fajitas I have ever had! They were cooked medium-medium rare which was perfect for us. Once we sat on the patio which was nice and perferred in my opinion, especially if its not too hot there. Definitely recommend this spot! read more

The ambiance is beautiful. We were warmly greeted, and asked if we wanted to be seated inside or on the patio. We chose the patio. Even though it was December, they had heaters throughout that made it feel like it was 75 degrees out. They have plenty of room inside and out for larger parties. Mi Dia has an extensive cocktail list with every type of margarita imaginable. I ordered a strawberry margarita which had a touch of champagne. We also ordered the table side guac, which was really delicious. They give you complimentary chips and salsa as well. My hubby liked it, but it was a bit spicy for me. What I did love is that they will consistently refill your chips without having to ask. For dinner, I ordered the shrimp baja tacos. My hubby ordered the ox eye enchiladas. The plate came with 4 small tacos, each with a huge piece of shrimp. They were topped with spicy cabbage, and came with rice and beans. I could only eat two. The cabbage was also more spicy than I would like. I like a little kick, but not for my lips to be numb. My husband loved the enchiladas. So here are my thoughts. The ambiance is great for a date night, and love that they make it easy to sit on the patio. The service was excellent, and attentive, without being intrusive. The prices were a little on the high side. I would say most of the entrees started at $15 and went up from there. The margaritas are also a little pricey. This would be a great spot for date night or a birthday dinner. read more

My wife and I went here last night to celebrate my birthday. We got there about 7:30 on a Thursday, were told it would take 15-20 min but it only took half that. The atmosphere is an open concept with the circular-shaped bar located in the middle. There is a patio outside next to a fountain with glowing, changing lights for added mood/atmosphere. The decor is modern. We wanted to sit at the bar to wait and get a drink but all seats were taken (there were only about 10-15). There was only one bench to wait and luckily there wasn't hardly anyone else waiting. We were seated at a table by the window. The booths have the posts on the outside and are peculiarly close to each other so that my wife and I kept unintentionally playing "footsie" all night while we were eating. All of that aside, we had a blast because the food and atmosphere is that good. They offer just under a million different specialty margaritas. The house frozen or rocks start at $8 and a majority of the rest range from about $10-15. They do offer one that carries a $50 price tag. My wife ordered the Hell Freezes Over which carries a kick to it with its jalapeno infused tequila and features dry ice that makes it bubble for added fun. I just had the house frozen and it was decent. They also have an extensive tequila and tequila flight list. Choose your own flight ranges from $9 to $15 depending on which level of tequila you desire. You can even get 1oz of tequila for as much as $200 if you ever win the lottery. My wife and I both ordered the baja shrimp tacos which are battered in negro modelo beer and come with avocado and cabbage inside. They were incredible. The batter had fantastic flavor. The avocados and cabbage tasted very fresh and high quality. We also ordered the basic Chile con Queso ($6) which was pretty good. The salsa has a mix of red and green salsa in the dish almost in the shape of a ying yang symbol. It delivered a smoky and very tasty flavor. For dessert my wife ordered Churros which were packed with delicious flavor that honestly took me 5-10 seconds to come back down to earth. I normally dont order dessert but will definitely be ordering them again the next time. We will be back to try more margaritas and want to check out the brunch. read more

Beautiful location - excellent looking and tasting food. Great polite and attentive service. Not cheap. Everything is advertised as made from scratch and has a distinctive taste of quality to it. Fantastic date night spot... Which brings me to my only complaint: My wife and I made the mistake of bringing our 1 year old son for brunch with us the other day while we were just in the area. They have booster seats but no high chairs. And the boosters have no straps so we had to keep a hand on him the whole time. This made things quite a bit hard to juggle. One of us had to eat while the other managed our child. Then we traded off and the other parent ate lukewarm but still tasty food. I don't know if my complaint is really valid as our situation there seemed to be an uncommon one... And additionally, if our son had not been present, everything would have been fine. However, I am generally of the belief that if you are going to not be a fully formal restaurant complete with reservation and dress code requirements that generally doesn't allow for kids at all, then perhaps look into making sure all situations with children are taken care of rather than just ones who are of elementary school age and above. read more

I personally think this scratched kitchen is more for the scratched tequila drinks they make. The food and service was below average. The bathrooms were filthy. Our waitress checked on us twice. To ask for our order and to pick up the check. I had the pulled chicken taco salad. The pulled chicken was over cooked and very dry. Not sure where the salad came in. I had more dry chicken then salad greens. I have been here two times. Big believer in giving places a 2nd chance. Twice disappointed. Authentic Mexican food it is not! read more

Came here with coworkers after work to have a good time and meet up with a former coworker. We sat on the patio, which is very nice. Our server was fairly nice; in the beginning, he seemed to be rushing us to order drinks and food, which we didn't like. He warmed up a little bit later and was a little more personable. I had a chicken & steak chimichanga, but I wasn't particularly impressed. The meat wasn't well-seasoned, and the flavor of the queso on top tasted a bit odd. The two drinks (margaritas) I had were pretty good. I didn't particularly care for the employees trying to rush us out of the restaurant without saying, "Leave!" While we were still sitting at the table, they put clean plates and silverware there, constantly swept around our feet, and took our glasses we were drinking from. I would've considered coming back if it weren't for all the subtle ways they were trying to kick us out of the restaurant. I highly doubt I'll be returning. read more
