Had dinner here with some friends. Their salsa comes mixed half red and half green salsa, decently spicy. Started off with their Tableside Guacamole $15.00. Got everything in it except for tomatoes. This was a great sharing app for like 4 to 6 people. The bacon in it was nice and crispy with a little smokiness, very good. For my entrée I got the Fajita Beef Nachos $17.00. This came with 8 rectangular chips with a full piece of steak on each piece. The chips unfortunately were kind of stale but the steak was perfect. It was tender and juicy. This was the first recommendation I received upon my arrival to Dallas. My usual stop every time I land is merely Uncle Julio's to satisfy my Tex-Mex craving so this place had to live up to some sort of standard to me. Walking into this restaurant had a classy vibe to it with a bar in the center and a beautiful display of liquor up to the ceiling. I ordered the Tequila Pesto Enchiladas. Given a smaller portion of three enchiladas, it wasn't the plate to fill you up if you have a big appetite. Taste wise, it surprised me to be such a delicate and light pesto flavor. We came to Mi Dia several times before and I always enjoyed table side guacamole but today we got to try something different. The tables are full and we are told we can sit at the bar with the option of ordering full menu. We happily accepted the bar seats and ordered frozen mango margarita while waiting for food. I got the shrimp enchiladas with tequila pesto cream, it's light and just right amount of seasoning and appreciate the pumpkin seeds topping to add more texture to the dish. I tried some of my boyfriend's order, Sandy's combo. The dish contains authentic beef and chicken enchilada and tamales. I like the chicken enchilada the bast. Our bartender is super nice and recommended a very tasty tequila to us. We come back and try other special drinks very soon. read more

We have been to MI Dia several times and not once have we left disappointed in anything. Everything is good here, but if you like guacamole, it's a must to get tableside guac here. It's huge and expensive, but oh so good! I mean, it has bacon! Another must is the tableside queso fundito. Sweet baby Jesus is it so good! Very mediocre meal. Salsa and chips were excellent. Fajita meat was outstanding. The problem was the MUSHY onions under the fajitas and on the taco carbon were disgusting. They say 'carmelized' on the menu but these were mushy almost a boiled texture onions that ruined it for both meals. Made the carbon tortilla wet and inedible. Enchiladas were not great either due to the Chile con carne tasting basically like chili powder. Atmosphere was great. Love the booths. Surprised we weren't asked how food was as we left most of our meals and had them take the plates. Maybe just an off kitchen day!?! I'd go back for a cocktail, chips, salsa...but I'd have to rethink my food selections based on this not so great meal. Very bummed! read more

Super upscale restaurant that caters to rich middle class and executives wanting lunch. The atmosphere and interior is quite beautiful. They did a great job with the bar, giving it a modern, yet elegant feel. I ordered the lunch fajita nachos, which was one of the weirdest presentations I have seen. It was a huge piece of skirt steak on some whole tortilla chips. Unfortunately the skirt steak is not tender enough to rip away with just my teeth. I had remove the steak from the chip and cut it up. It had a good taste to it, but it needed to be divided into little pieces. They gave a nice layering of cheese and sour cream on the chips. I like that they are not just dumped in there. They were a bit pricey, but it's probably the amount of steak they give you. I should have listened to the reviews about the chimichanga, but the chipotle sauce was just too much chipotle flavor. To the point that it feels like I'm eating extract. It became gross half way through the meal. The outside is crunchy at first, but the sauce turns it into a ball of dough. Its also a huge meal. Don't be surprised if you cant finish it. This wasn't any better texture wise once I heated up as leftovers. I came here to meet my friend for lunch. This was my first visit and my friend has been to the one in Grapevine and she said that it was very busy, so she suggested this one. I was happy to try. Well, I have to say that the place is very nice and fancy looking inside. We sat at the bar and they have a lunch menu which is a little cheaper, but I decided to order from the regular menu instead. I ordered Shrimp street tacos(fried)and table side guacamole and my friend ordered the nachos. My tacos were ok and the guacamole looked really good, but it was lacking the saltiness and there were bacon bits which I don't eat. I've never had a guacamole with bacon bits before. The salsa and chips were good: The chips were crispy/warm and the salsa was nice and spicy. The bartender was nice and friendly. The bathroom was nice and clean. I have to add that while we were there, they broke dishes 3 times. I hope no one got their pay docked. Over all, it was a good experience, but I don't know if I will return anytime soon. Fantastic tex mex spot in the 'burbs! And everything is made from scratch! I went here for brunch, and I'm not really a brunch guy, but what I like about this place is that they offer their full menu all day long! Chips and salsa - 4/5 - they mix their salsa with green and red sauce - delish! Wish their chips were warmed up though. Guacamole - 5/5 - they make it tableside! And this thing is huge! As an appetizer, it's easily good for 3-4 people. The container it comes in is roughly the size of a cantaloupe cut in half, maybe even bigger! You also get to choose how spicy you want it. Skirt steak traditional tacos - 4/5 - the steak was well marinated and it pretty much just melts in your mouth! Waffles - 5/5 - best waffles I have ever tasted! It was very light and crunchy, and didn't have that"heavy" flour texture when you bite into it. Canyon road sunrise cocktail - 4/5 - light, refreshing, and spicy! Loved it! I came here last year this time for my wife's birthday and it was really good. This year was good as well but for a couple things. Bought some cupcakes and asked to put them in the fridge. By the time they came out, it tasted like the fridge. Originally picked them up from the bakery and went straight to the restaurant. Ruined Nothing Bundt Cake cupcakes, not cheap. Also, all soda was canned. So, no refills?? I feel like everything is blamed on COVID nowadays. You can make more money charging for cans I guess. read more

I had high hopes for this place. The service was terrible! There were just two of us. The only time we had the server in front of our table was when he boxed up our food. When he took our order he popped his head from around the corner from the neighboring booth he was working. I asked for a recommendation, as it was our first time there. He quickly blurted out the battered shrimp tacos. The tacos were bland and the only thing I tasted was the heat from the green sauce and the pickled cabbage which was so so for a pickled condiment. It neededed salt, a pinch of sugar or something to give it some balanced flavor. My husbands steak for his fajitas was good however he had to ask three times to two different people and waited close to 10min for the tortillas and toppings in order to eat his fajitas. They seemed to have a lot of workers but our waiter appeared to be bussing, taking orders and sweeping. It was clear he was overwhelmed and in a mad rush. We were seated close to the hostess desk. Dined here last week based upon a recommendation. The server was very pleasant and nice a. However, a majority of my gripes start with the food. While complimentary, I feel it germane to mention that my friend and I both felt the table salsa to be immensely underwhelming. The tomatillo and roja salsas seemed to be lacking in flavor. I'll play devil's advocate and assume the salsas were lacking enough of a salt component. The tomatillo tasted like citrus (and not much else) and the red salsa more or less tasted like tomato purée. For our main course we had the pesto shrimp enchiladas. While well cooked, the shrimp was lacking in flavor, along with the enchilada sauce. Both of us in my party only really tasted butter in the dish. I'm not sure why it was so overtly prominent. I tasted scant amounts of pesto. Also, I believe the menu description stated there was tequila in the sauce. Sadly we couldn't tell it was present in our dish. The side of rice was decent but the refried beans tasted pretty similar to the canned ones I purchase. The blue corn tortillas were really good though! read more

Well this was my wife's and my first visit to this Tex Mexican restaurant off north south Tollway. We had no reservations but were provided a table within 2 minutes. Oh my god I talked all the way home to McKinney as it was the best food I've eaten in this area. Our waitress Maria was a 10 star and manage randy stopped by to ask how our first visit was going. My wife had the banana wrapped salmon and I had the deep fried scrimp taco's. Both were also a 10 star, and the home made Rocky Mt ice cream was off the charts. I would not recommend this place. It was expensive and nothing about the service or the food justified the prices. The table was dirty when we were seated and no one offered to clean it. The plates and silverware were also dirty when they arrived with large black chunks. The waitperson offered very little help navigating the menus (food or drink). The food was average at best, and the drinks were sub-par. One would think an $18 margarita would be both tasty and strong, yet none of the options we ordered were either. And then there is the oddest part. The booths are not comfortable at all. One member of our party suggested they were like a recliner where you were positioned so that it was difficult to reach the table and feet didn't reach the floor. My advice is to look elsewhere for a high-end Tex-Mex dining experience. read more

Came here for dinner and this location is much smaller then the Grapevine location. I was expecting the food to have the same good flavor I have come to known. First off the chips and salsa are very good! I ordered the street tacos steak dish. Steak was very bland and has to put salt on it to give some type of flavor. Also the flour tortillas tasted like store bought tortillas. Tried sopapillas for desert and that along with the chips/salsa was the only food I enjoyed on this particular visit. I took home 3 of 4 tacos from the main meal home. The dessert filled me up as the main meal I did not eat except for the fried rice. I will stick to the Grapevine location and won't come be back here in a long time. Looking for a new Mexican joint, we always passed by this place but never got around checking it out. Been to this place twice, both times the food was very consistent. I didn't know bacon would make all the difference in the guac......it does....well fool is me, bacon makes everything better. The carne asada at this place is ridiculous, pretty damn tender. How best to summarize five stars, great food and service. The restaurant has toll ceilings and a modern look. The immense tequila tower displayed in the bar area offers some of the most exotic tequilas imported from Mexico. By exotic I mean the quality of tequila and the bottle shapes and labels. Some of the bottle are covered in hand sown beads. Flights of tequila are offered on the menu as well, the cost varies based on the quality of the tequila and they do have $200 tequila shots for the tequila consignor. The menu offers a variety of traditional Mexican dishes as well as Tex-mex dishes. The tortilla soup it was the best I have ever had, the freshness of the crema and supper fresh avocado slice served with the soup made the taste and texture amazing. I have also tried the Tex-Mex apple bacon fajitas that were very good. Everything is made from scratch at this place from tortilla, guacamole and the two types of salsa that is served with homemade chips once you sit down. Compliments to the Chef and I will be back!
