YES! YES! YES! Hubby and I came in on a Saturday afternoon with our two little ones for lunch and were delighted to find a shaded seat on the patio. The boys loved being outside with a view of the fountains and hubby loved his view of the outdoor TVs showing College football. Their menu is well thought out and even offers three sections: legit Mexican food, spicy Mexican food and Tex-Mex food. Stopping by on a Saturday also offered us access to their Brunch Menu, which myself and the boys took full advantage of. Although we skipped the drinks I was impressed to learn their margaritas are made with lemon juice which ensures a stable and authentic flavor and they also use agave nectar which makes all margaritas skinny!!! I've heard they aren't weak in taste or liquor either! I devoured my Breakfast Tacos, which are three soft tacos gently wrapped around freshly scrambled eggs and each taco containing an additional item for which I chose; Potato Chilaquiles, Applewood Smoked Bacon, & Blueberry Maple Sausage as my three. My husband heard me making so many sounds while enjoying them he insisted on trying them too. He kindly shared his Carnitas Tacos in exchange. The boys shared the Brunch Menu Mi Dia Belgium Waffle with Blueberry syrup with a side of Blueberry Maple Sausage. My tacos came with a side of Oaxacan Black Beans and my husband's tacos also came with the Oaxacan Black Beans Guajillo rice, however we'd already filled up on so many of the complimentary chips and salsa we just didn't have room to enjoy them. The ribs and bass tacos were honorable mentions as well! Chips were ready as soon as we got to the table which was nice because we were starving. My grandpa made a reservation for 7:30 for my brother and cousins' birthdays in advance and got their at 7 to be sure. When it got to 7:30, despite the text confirmation, the host told him that there was no reservation and one of us called to cancel which was not true. My husband and I came in on a Tuesday at 11:30. The restaurant was dead. Perfect for us because we were sat and served quickly! It's not a huge restaurant but a good size. They have a cute outdoor patio. They have a few lunch specials. My husband ordered the stacked enchiladas (beef) and I ordered the Mexican Cobb salad. The salad was $15. A little high priced for a salad I thought, till I saw it. The salad was huge! I was only able to eat half of it. It came with chicken, bacon, avocado, cheese, corn, romaine lettuce and a spicy dressing. The only thing that would have made it perfect was a chopped hard boiled egg. Their red salsa is ridiculously spicy but so good. It's got a great flavor but be careful because the spiciness sneaks up on you! The green is very mild but great when mixed with the red. Such a hidden gem!! The beef fajitas were to die for. I don't know how they seasoned them, but it was absolutely amazing. I took off a star just because of the tamales being quite dry. Don't waste your time or money on this establishment. Plenty of other restaurants in the DFW area that offer just as good food/drinks and much better service. Don't even think about coming here with small children unless they can sit for a two hour dinner. 15 minutes for a side of flour tortillas for my kids. Queso was cold by the time they got their tortillas and had to ask again for them. 10 minutes for a Miller Lite. Asked to speak to a manager to prevent a bad outcome or any further hiccups and 30 minutes later I had to ask again to see a manager. Server said she had 8 tables and couldn't find a manager. Finally a manager came by to assist with getting our food out. Ordered the Carne asada with no guacamole, but add sour cream. Also ordered no rice or charro beans, but with dbl refried beans. Plate came out with the Carne asada only. Had to ask for my sour cream and beans. Never received tortillas. I thought it was very amusing that our server made it a point to take the order from position 1 first (eventhough he wasn't even quite ready to order yet), but when the food came out it was mass chaos to find out who ordered what. With a restaurant that establishes itself on service, they shouldn't have to auction off everyone's food. Overall disappointing experience across the board. read more

We really like Mi Dia! The service is always so good, but there always seems to be some sort of issue at the hostess stand and it can really get stacked up there. The food is always delicious and plentiful, and the salsa is HOT so if you're sensitive to that wait for your water to come before you taste it! Well, I hadn't been back here in a few years although it's walking distance. My customer wanted to eat here and I have to say it was impressive. The last time we were here the service was poor, the place was too loud to talk, and the food seemed mediocre. It was still a little loud, but we all loved the sauces, guacamole and meals. My first impression after a meal at Mi Dia is that it just might edge out Meso Maya in the food and drink categories. I wish there was one closer to Downtown Dallas as I would be a frequent visitor. They also have a drink menu the size of an encyclopedia - so many of them sounded tasty, I just wish my liver and bank account would've supported me trying more of them. Food - I ordered the chicken tinga tacos. The tortillas are SO FRESH and delicate, without falling apart as you eat. The plate comes with four small tacos loaded with shredded chicken tinga, avocado and a delicious white crema sauce. The flavors were perfect. I only had two after being full from the chips and salsa and cocktails, but reheated the remaining two later that night and they were just as tasty as I remembered. As mentioned the cocktail list is huge. So many variations on margaritas as well as non-tequila cocktails. If you want to impress your friends or get something Instagram worthy, check out any of their cocktails made with dry ice. It really is a fun component to watch your drink bubbling like a cauldron. Can't wait to try more drinks during my next visit! I highly recommend this spot for an executive luncheon or dinner or a great meal with friends and loved ones. I went to the restaurant for lunch today, thinking I'd get some enchiladas. I was greeted by a friendly hostess when I walked in through the nondescript doors. I was seated promptly in a nice well lit space that belied the unimposing exterior. Once I was seated, a friendly young waitress came by to check on me and to supply water. Service was excellent, by the way. I noticed that there was a lady who scanned the restaurant area and had directed the waitress to me. Good management control of the wait staff to ensure customer expectations are met Once I saw that there were a few hatch chili pepper items still on the menu, I selected the fried chicken tacos ($18). While awaiting the tacos, I enjoyed the tortilla chips and the dip. Quite delicious, but be warned -- it is spicy! The tacos were excellent. Crispy fried battered chicken with just the right amount of batter. Flavorful sauce. The side of rice and refried beans was standard fare and not remarkable. I couldn't finish the meal and had about half boxed to take home. Unlike many places these days, the waitress carefully boxed it at my table. The check was brought in good time; no long delay even though she had a nearby table with 5 guys having a lunch meeting and also having left overs boxed. Very efficient! I would give 5 stars but for one demerit. The napkin (cloth, black) inexplicably had some "remnants" of a prior user. The place was clean, as far as any customer could tell, but this indicated a lack of control over laundered items and it is a bit gross to encounter. This is a really big state, and that's a big claim, but after eating here, I'll heartily concur. I came here with a crew of seven. This place is always so busy. Our 2nd time to try. We made 6:15pm reservations on Open Table and were at the hostess stand at 6:13pm. She acted like they thought we were not coming and we proceeded to wait 15 minutes for a table. Others waited longer so they had our reservation. Service was friendly and pretty good, but our waitress seemed overworked with too many tables as she was gone quite a lot from ours. Decor and bar are great. Unreal selection of tequilas - can't think with another restaurant with more options. Flaca and La Primavera Margaritas were superb - some of the best I have had anywhere. Honestly, the food is very average - at least the Tex Mex. Extensive menu. Pretty good hot sauce, but disappointing chips. Tried the Sopa de Carnitas and was pretty disappointed. Very little carnitas on the blue masa and beans - could not really taste the pork. Perhaps some of the more exotic specials are what they are popular or known for. Had the create your own (2 enchiladas and a chalupa) and the Sandy's combo special. Chalupa was highly anticipated, but disappointing flavor. The pork tamale is large but very bland unless you add salt and then it was pretty good (no salt on the table, so had to request it). Beans and rice definitely below average. Pretty good cheese and chicken enchiladas. Too many better Mexican food options in Dallas for the food prices charged here. If I returned, I would just stick to drinks and appetizers I think. read more

I picked this place out for my birthday. I wanted something different than just the regular tacos and enchiladas. This did not disappoint! We shared the duck carnitas and the Mucho mixed grill. The manager (Ron) came by an chatted a few minutes then comped us some house made rocky road ice cream. Omg it was great! Everything was cooked to perfection! I don't eat pork but I tasted the pork ribs and they were falling off the bone tender. The quail was charred on the outside and tender on the inside. Sauces were good, chips were fresh. Holy Guacamole! This place has the best table side Guac I have ever tasted. I practically ate that the whole thing. It was being made by Jose from El Salvador. Megan our server was also extremely attentive and helpful with suggestions. We also ordered the street tacos. The Short Rib and the Duck, both of these dishes come with rice and beans. Given I'm on Keto, I just ate the taco filling but they were super flavorful. The short ribs were shredded and accompanied with deep fried chayote. That was the difference, the chayote added a nice okra texture plus onion accompaniment and the crunch fit in nicely with the tender beef short ribs. They were topped with a Mote cream with just the right amount of heat. The duck tacos, were presented nicely, they tasted less gamey than I had expected and had actually more of a brisket flavor. It was delicious. We had churros, with negro modelo ice cream. The ice cream was definitely what you would expect. And was very rich and countered the churros sweetness. But for 10$, this dessert dish could be skipped. I'd just ask for a scoop of the negro modelo ice cream for 2.50$. But one of the best Tex-Mex meals I have had. read more

Went to MiDia on recommendation from doctors office. My husband and I have eaten Mexican (TexMex) food in way too many places to count. I am a very picky eater while my husband will eat anything that isn't moving. We both raved about our meal, the service and the manager even came to our table to see how we liked our meal and was extremely friendly and just wanted us to enjoy. He knew we were celebrating our anniversary and wished us a happy anniversary. He thanked us for coming and said he hoped we would be a regular. Im sitting her planning my return, so what better time than now to write my review. They have the best seafood enchiladas, and I mean THE.BEST! It didn't have all that extra cheese like others do, and its filled with sea bass, salmon and shrimp; it melted in my mouth. I want more! Like, right now! The chips and salsa was very good. The service was great. We ordered the veggie enchiladas from the vegetarian menu... there was a lot lacking. The sauce was very sweet. There was barely any cheese on the enchilada, a bit blasphemous unless I requested vegan. The enchiladas were unique but all we wanted was cheese enchiladas with good sauce. We sat, got our drink on (I highly recommend the Violet Merengue which is comparable to a Mambo Taxi from Mi Cocina) and noshed on chips and salsa which were delish!! Love the red and green salsa combo, very unique and flavorful! If you're one for New Mexican cuisine, they offer dishes here along with standard Tex Mex deals. The tacos are a wonderful way to go since you get four tacos PLUS rice and beans. I got the Mi Dia Salad with grilled steak and holy cow, it was amazing!
