Good service and very good food. I stopped here with a group for an early dinner. We started at the bar and made our way to the table. The server brought us warm nacho chips and each an individual sauce. The sauce was mild with some green chilies mixed in. They have an extensive menu with a variety of options for everyone. I had a 2 item combo you can pick 1-3 items between a burrito, taco, faults, enchilada, and a chalupa. The combo comes with a beans and rice. Also if you are in the mood for some fancy drinks this place has it, I saw a smoky martini, maybe made with dry ice. The food was excellent neatly placed and as good as it looked. It was filing I can definitely say as the portion sizes are generous. I will be back. read more

On of my favorite spots in Plano. The ingredients are fresh and the New Mexico style Mexican food is wonderful. The salsa is a combination of two types and I would vote it the best in North Dallas. We have always used the patio while dining, even in the height of the summer. The fans are the perfect touch to cooling the area. I enjoy the street tacos and have tried all the combinations. Final found my home for quality Mexican food in DFW. In fact, after moving here from El Paso, there is no other place I will probably go for great Mexican food... and margaritas. The chips and salsas are awesome and the only thing wrong with them is they are so good it's hard not to eat too many before dinner. I recommend the tableside guacamole for sure and again, remember to save room for dinner when you are diving in. We had fajitas, enchiladas, tacos and several other dishes and they are all awesome and highly recommended. The ambience and service polish this off for a rare 5 start rating. For my lunch I went with Pibil which is pork shank rubbed with achiote, wrapped in banana leaf and roasted. It came served with roasted habanero salsa, esquites (which was like elote off the cob) and Oaxacan black beans. I thought all were quite good and really enjoyed the pibil and equites. What a fun time we had at Mi Dia. The outside patio has been glassed in making the room a year round pleasure. With 4 days notice they hosted my husbands surprise party of 30. The manager, Ron, personally oversaw all the details. Drinks for our thirsty crowd were ordered and delivered promptly (a must with this crowd), appetizers delivered and were delicious (one of our guests said it was the best guacamole she'd ever had) and all dinners arrived quickly and accurately and hot. And we didn't have a set menu. We love the food in general at Mi Dia, but having some event experience myself, I really felt they did an awesome job. And this new version of the patio is wonderful. My brother had a reservation for 10 at 8:30 pm for his birthday- most of the party was there by 8:33 and we were advised there was a 10-15 minute wait. 25-30 minutes into waiting, the hostess approached and advised that the previous reservation was still seated but they had removed food and had empty glasses. Looked like they were opening gifts, but she would advise them of the pending reservation shortly. By this time, the entire party had arrived and we were stuck waiting near the very busy door. After another 20 minutes, my brother-in- law had to find a hostess/waitress and ask when we would be seated. Although we received an apology, this was almost an hour into our reservation. We were seated at a large table towards the back with some water glasses ready and others needing to be filled. My glass was filled with warm water. Salsa and chips were brought promptly, however food and drink orders weren't taken for at least another 30 minutes. Drink orders did feel rushed as the waiter advised the bar would be closing in 5 mins. The food was the highlight of the night! The entire party was served together and the food was fresh and hot! My boyfriend raves about the Duck tacos! Portions were excellent as well! And everything was cooked well. I could literally eat the chalupa everyday! It felt unwelcoming because we had to ask for water refills ( something was floating in the water that was freshly poured from the pitcher!) and my boyfriend asked for more salsa for the table and only a single serving for him was brought out. Unfortunately, due to the staffs inability to manage the reservations, we were only able to order one round of drinks. I appreciate them allowing us to stay past closing ( we left at 11), however due to the previous reservation running over, that was no fault of ours. I recommend this place because she has never been here bf , let me tell you everything was going good until I ordered the X-Mas burrito steak, I told the waiter Marianna that something was stocked inside my throat, she called the manager ,we picked out off my burrito a strange piece of "ingredient" on a napkin ,the manager took it to the kitchen to be looked at , the cook staff told her it was a piece of wood!!!! I do not think I've had a more flavorful salsa. It's served as a duo of green and red. The green is mild and the red is super hot. For dinner I had grilled shrimp tacos. They were ok, a bit more fishy tasting than I expected. The best parts were the sides. I chose cilantro rice and corn. There are other menu items I will try. read more

From the first step in, to your last bite of the day, you are guaranteed great service and fantastic Mexican food. I definitely recommend the table guac as an appetizer and the complimentary chips and salsa is splendid. You can always tell a restaurant's quality from their complimentary food. For entrees everything from their taco salad, chicken nachos, chicken flautas, and chimichanga is phenomenal. The waitress has no idea how to manage the orders for a large group with lots of kids. Drink orders were taken after the food arrived. Some people had entrées before the appetizers came while others had no food yet. Vegetarian options are sparse. Prohibitively expensive considering the quality of the experience. I have eaten at Mi Dia numerous times and enjoyed it, but in Mother's Day, unfortunately we had a subpar experience. We arrived early for our reservation and asked if it was possible to be seated early, and the hostess replied she would try. She had trouble finding my name so I had to show my OpenTable app reservation. And in fairness it was very busy and very crowded I am assuming because of Mother's Day. After 10 minutes, I then received an open table notice my reservation had been changed from 4 to 5 people. I had to tell the hostess we were 4 not 5 and then she said it was her mistake. 5 minutes later I received another OpenTable notice asking how my dining experience was and thank you for dining at Mi Dia. Just all very confusing. I had then to go back up to the stand and let them know we hadn't been seated yet -we were still there waiting for our reservation, at that time she just said I can seat you now. At our table there was no setting for silverware and we actually never received the silverware until we got our food and we had to ask, at that time they said they have to go see if they have any silverware because the dishwashers were washing it all?? They had run out. They were able to bring us 3 silverwares and had to wait for a fourth. While our food had already been served Our server with very quiet and only sporadically attended the table, this is unlike past experiences we've had at this restaurant. There were long waits between ordering drinks, ordering food, and check ins. The food was good, as it has been in past visits but My salad arrived with no dressing, again I had to get up to find him to ask for it. . I'm not sure if Mi Dia has gone downhill or this was just too busy a day for them to keep up. Otherwise a pretty sour experience for Mothers Day dinner. read more

However, the lunch menu is a bargain. Less expensive than Mi Cocina or Pappasitos. This is one of the upper tier Mexican restaurants in DFW. TexMex yet a flair of New Mexican which I really like. For starters the chips and salsa were very good. They serve a red with a dab of green chili in the middle. It has some heat which I also like. The service is excellent and the decor is upscale. Ordered the number VI, Enchilada, Tamale & Taco served with Guajillo Rice & Beans. Substituted chicken for the taco and enchilada. The tamale is only available in pork. The tacos are spot on. The chicken enchilada with sour cream was good. I really liked the tamale that is hand made with a little heat and yummy. The rice and beans were also very good. I am going to try the Grapevine location next. To reiterate, lunch here is a good deal and worth trying. You will not leave here hungry. In summary an excellent experience. read more

A hidden gem in Plano. We have driven by this place for years, were curious about it, but didn't try it until a month ago. It's truly one of the best Mexican options in our area and that's saying a lot. Has something for everyone. I'm a huge fan of the table side guacamole. Just learned you can get it with bacon and it was truly a treat! The best carne asada I've had in a long time. The skinny margaritas are top notch but there are so many other options drink wise too. The boys loved being outside with a view of the fountains and hubby loved his view of the outdoor TVs showing College football. I've heard they aren't weak in taste or liquor either! I devoured my Breakfast Tacos, which are three soft tacos gently wrapped around freshly scrambled eggs and each taco containing an additional item for which I chose; Potato Chilaquiles, Applewood Smoked Bacon, & Blueberry Maple Sausage as my three. My husband heard me making so many sounds while enjoying them he insisted on trying them too. He kindly shared his Carnitas Tacos in exchange. My husband and I came in on a Tuesday at 11:30. The restaurant was dead. Perfect for us because we were sat and served quickly! It's not a huge restaurant but a good size. They have a cute outdoor patio. They have a few lunch specials. My husband ordered the stacked enchiladas (beef) and I ordered the Mexican Cobb salad. The salad was $15. A little high priced for a salad I thought, till I saw it. The salad was huge! I was only able to eat half of it. It came with chicken, bacon, avocado, cheese, corn, romaine lettuce and a spicy dressing. The only thing that would have made it perfect was a chopped hard boiled egg. Their red salsa is ridiculously spicy but so good. It's got a great flavor but be careful because the spiciness sneaks up on you! The green is very mild but great when mixed with the red.
