Really good experience and tasty food. Service was good from what I remember as well.

We were given a gift card to this place for Christmas and finally got around to using it. And WOW- it did not disappoint! We were treated like royalty and our waiter was outstanding. We started with yummy drinks. I had the Riviera Maya , and it was smooth and delicious, but not too sweet. The hubby had the tequila flight, and he said it was incredible and a great value. Then we ordered the queso and not-so-tableside guacamole. Both were incredible...BUT I do not recommend the bacon in the guacamole. I never imagined it would be part of the recipe, so I didn't read that part. Lesson learned. Will omit the bacon next time. The chips are light and buttery and a new favorite. We split the shrimp and beef steak fajitas. So so good. The shrimp was delectable. They also served a grilled jalapeño on top, which my husband absolutely loved and devoured. The tortillas were perfect- so I assumed homemade. Loved it all. And we've already decided this is our new go-to for date night. As my husband says, "queso is your love language." read more

I have been to the Grapevine location a few times, but finally had time for a meal here the other day!! The restaurant is beautiful and they were not too crowded at the time that we went. My friend had tacos on flour tortillas which he seemed to enjoy. I was going to get the nachos but the taco salad caught my eye in the middle of me ordering and I was glad to have settled on that. The salad was massive, and loved the marinated chopped up steak inside and fresh slices of avocado. A quick warning though - the chipotle dressing will absolutely set your mouth ON FIRE! I liked the vinaigrette better that was made fresh. It brought out the flavors of all of the veggies and meat. Our waiter was cool, I would have preferred him to be more friendly (and also wishing he warned me about the crazy hotness of that dang dressing) but it was all good. I enjoyed the conversation and food at the table more than the service. They have a huge menu with a lot of flavors and options so you're sure to find something you like. This would not be my first option for places to eat in Plano especially for Mexican food but I would return to see what else they have in store. read more

This review is on the happy hour. I met a friend for happy hour here yesterday. She had already started when I arrived. We sat at the bar. I got there around 4:30 and was able to find a seat but after 5pm most of the seats at the bar were taken. I ordered the frozen margarita on the happy hour menu. I got the chips, salsa, and queso. The margarita was very strong! It was perfect for a Friday Happy Hour. I also ordered the chicken and beef tacos. I liked the chicken more than the beef, but both were tasty tacos. I really enjoyed the happy hour and the frozen margaritas were strong and tasty. read more

Food wasn't good, but portions were big. Everything tasted like it came out of a jar or can--including the chicken. I'm pretty particular about boxing my food, and they boxed my leftovers for me even though I told them "No I can do it" while shaking my head no... like girl the body language and the words were telling you I do not want that.... bunch of old white people there dressed nice...not my demographic so made me feel out of place and should give some insight about the quality of their tex mex... read more

The restaurant is nice and chic. I thought the food was decent it is definitely a step up from Chuys or On the Border. My waitress Brianna was super sweet although really slow and not informative of the menu or drink prices that is why I give 3 stars. She told me my strawberry mint mojito would be $10 I ordered three, instead of clarifying the price to me after the first one I ordered she ends up charging me $13 for each drink. Then she tells me that it's an extra $3.00 for cut up tiny pieces of mint in my drink. Keep in mind mint is sold for less than $1 at the persian store and Walmart ! So on each of my drinks it was an extra $3.00 for mint so for my three drinks a total of $9.00 for pieces of micro mint, which is really outrageous ! I was just at the time whatever, because she was very slow and seemed to have special needs, and a comprehension disorder, so I did not want to be rude. I ended up paying close to $50 for drinks that should have been $30 but oh well. The steak fajita was good if your a bird and like to eat small amounts of food. The food was good. I would not come back. This restaurant is a one time thing . Papasitos is a lot better in my opinion. read more

Amazing again last night. We were catching up with good friends we hadn't seen in ages over dinner and Mi Dia was perfect. Everyone enjoyed their cocktails and entrees. Their dual salsa and bacon guac were adored by our guests, which validated our deep love for both! Lol I tried the vegetarian Huitlacoche Enchiladas (think mushrooms or morels) in roasted tomatillo sauce = AMAZING! Delicious and satisfying, and felt good about myself avoiding meat per doctor's recommendation! The Sea Bass tacos are phenomenal, nice grill on the fish and a tasty rub. Fajitas with steak n chicken never disappoint... those tortillas!!!! Our server Blanca was fantastic- great recommendations on cocktails, patient with our dining at a slower pace to enjoy our time with our friends, taking pictures for us. Mi Dia is THE spot we take out of towners for Mexican/TexMex, and where we frequently celebrate birthdays and anniversaries with friends. Love love love! read more

I've been to this location twice and have not been disappointed. The first time I had the New Mexico Tampiqueña which is a grilled skirt steak topped with blue corn tortilla cheese and onion enchiladas, red and green chile sauce, and guac. Sides- Charro beans and guerilla rice. Second visit I wanted something less filling and had the Carne Asada (same thing as above without enchilada and sauce. The steak is so tender and packed with flavor. Probably my absolute favorite! I also love the charro beans here! Fun fact, I nearly chocked on the salsa (what a great image for my date watching me tear up and cough up a lung). The salsa is spicy, but a seed got perfectly lodged in my throat which was the real kicker. The tequila flight was nice to try different flavors to help decide what margarita to get. We had the Strawberry, Blueberry, and Pineapple Chipotle. These were the most fanciest shots I've ever taken. Drink wise I had the Mexican Candy because I love the shot so figured the drink would be just as great! It somehow tasted warm and frozen at the same time, but was mango and chamoy perfection. For my tequila lovers- they have over one hundred of the finest one hundred percent agave. Everything here is made from scratch. If you order the guac, they make it in front of you! Our server was super sweet and great with recommendations. I love how long the drink menu is. It'll take me forever to try them all. The food list is just as great and is sectioned off by different traditional recipes. read more

I love that the food is all from scratch, it tasted amazing and great atmosphere! The happy hour house marg on the rocks wasn't very strong I drank it in two seconds so next time I'll try another drink, overall cute place one thing is the server did try to throw my food away when I wasn't done so I just wish they would ask before because it's a. Great menu and selections. And plenty of tequila options too. The duck carnitas tacos were excellent. Service even better. I ate 2 and asked for a to go for my leftovers and wanted to take some of my chips. He wouldn't let me take my 'used' ones and insisted I get a new bag of chips packaged to go with warming instructions and a fresh container of salsa. If I lived in Dallas, this would be a regular stop. read more

Great food and service. Drinks were excellent. Noise level during the lunch hour wasn't bad, not quiet but not loud either

Also, a solid place to visit for Mexican fusion food and drinks. Our waiter was great and took good care of us which made our experience nice. Due to Covid the Table Side Guacamole is no longer table side but it was still fresh. I tired the black bean shishutio enchiladas for the first time and I it was great. Another one of our favs, especially for the summertime. There's nothing better than an ice cold marg, chips and salsa and fresher than fresh guacamole. I love their Mangonada margarita - with the perfect amount of chamoy in a tajin rimmed glass. Spicy salsa and crispy chips are complementary. We always get the table side guacamole with fresh avocados and custom made the way we like (extra limes and chilies!). Chimichanga, rice abs beans is a staple, as are the fajitas. There's something for everyone, and I always leave here feeling good and full. read more

The 2 stars are because food is pretty good but -3 stars for making people wait just to make it seem busy. Host tells us 15 minutes and then 16 minutes later it's 10 more minutes. The people next to us were seated in a table that had been open since we go there. They literally made them wait for a table that was already clean for 15 minutes. It's like a club where they want it to be desirable by having a crowd outside. Well I don't want to go to the club, I just want tacos, which thankfully in Texas there are a lot more options. Pass! read more

Mi Dia was an elegant and warm Mexican restaurant but good food and okay drinks. The chips were not salted at all, I thought maybe the first batch was a fluke but the second batch we were served had no trace of salt either. I personally like just a little salt on my tortilla chips. As for the food, I ordered the Baja shrimp tacos. They were fried with an extremely light batter and they definitely tasted lighter and healthier but they were very messy to eat. The shrimp was so large and the avocado slice just slipped right off the tortilla if you tried to eat this like a traditional taco. My fiance had the Chimichanga and thought it was tasty but only order if you are ready for a heavy meal. For drinks we tried the Mi Dia Rocks (house marg), La Flaca and the New Mexican Martini. None of these blew me away. Mi Dia Rocks and La Flaca were served in tall glasses (always makes me feel like I'm getting filled with more juice and sugar). The New Mexican Martini was good, could've used a bit more lime and actually not very spicy at all. read more

Disclaimer: this was a quick stop...margs and guac only, but it totally deserves 4 . Came with a friend before a movie at the theater next door. We were more interested in catching up than eating, so we had a couple drinks (pineapple chipotle margaritas) and the table side prepared guacamole. The marg was wonderful--it deserves props, but that guac... Our personal chef rolled up to the table with his magical guacamole cart. We opted for all choices except sun dried tomatoes. (I have a personal hatred for sun dried tomatoes but that's on me). Avocados, onions, garlic, fresh tomatoes, cilantro, lime juice, s&p, and the most brilliant addition ever...BACON! I mean what the what? Whose brilliant idea was this?!? Why have I not done this before?!? Wonderful and tasty and filling. We really didn't need a meal after that. It comes in a giant trough with bottomless warm fresh chips. I'd like to explore the menu but this was a great meet/cute. read more

Food - 10/10 Ambiance - 10/10 Service - 3/10 My wife and I split the steak and relleno, it was absolutely delicious. The steak was cooked perfectly to medium rare and had a great smoky flavor to it. The rice was fluffy and the charro beans were the best I've had in a while from a restaurant. It even had little pieces of bacon or pork in it. I'm sad to say that the service was horrible. Our server never brought my wife her coke, and had to ask for my drink order twice. Then we waited WAY too long for our beverages after sitting down. In fact, my soup came before our drinks, and I'm pretty sure I saw my wife's margarita being walked around by another server who looked lost, couldn't figure out where it was supposed to go, and ended up taking it back to the bar anyways (she ordered a coke and a margarita). Because my wife and I split a dish, we asked for an extra side of rice and beans with our order. The side of rice and beans came out 10 mins before the main. Why? I sent it back, and when I did the server looked confused and looked at me like I was being ridiculous. It clicked when I said "why would I want my side of rice and beans well before my main course is out?" Finally, when it came to the bill, it also ended up being a "thing." When the server came by I gave her my card and said please just run it, and bring the itemized as well as the copy for me to sign. She put the card in her apron and disappeared. 10 mins later another server, who hadn't served us all night brought us the check (to be paid). Then we sat around for another 5 minutes or so when the original server came back and said, can I take that? When I pointed out to her that she had my card and she was supposed to run it, she said "oh I'm sorry I got confused." Not sure why. Her only redemption for the night was packing our food for us. We'll give this place another try solely based on the food. Hopefully we have better service next time. read more

Have been wanting to go here for a long time, but could never get in due to seating. Must get a reservation early here or at least the Plano location. Great menu. I love a good New Mexican dish, which I find difficult to find in DFW. This place was spot on. The red and green chili's reminded me of Santa Fe or as close as I could get. We had shrimp tacos which were very fresh. And steak with poblano pepper. The only thing I wasn't crazy about is there was a constant upsell for everything. We were recommended not to get the house margarita. I wanted one dish, but was recommended it wasn't as good and upsold another more expensive dish. The prices by the way are not on the menu. The food was fantastic, but I'm bumping my rating down just due to the constant upselling, which is a turn off for me. read more

O.MG..... Perfection is found in this gem of a restaurant! I made reservations for a brunch with a few friends and I have to tell you that I was a bit hesitant. I take brunch very seriously, so when I'd made the reservation, I was a bit hesitant. Well throw any worries or cares out the window!!!! I ordered the skirt steak entree, the table side guacamole , and a few drinks. Now let's dive right in. I absolutely LOVED my drink. It had a bite, but was also really good and pleasing to my parched throat. Lol The guacamole was heaven sent . I mean from the pieces of bacon, to the delectable creaminess of the guacamole, I couldn't do anything but close my eyes in pure bliss. Then the main attraction. That SKIRT STEAK!!!!! All I know is, I think my mouth , left my face, and floated to the chef and kissed him/her!! It was marinated so well and oh so tender. Last but not least was the customer service. Everyone was extremely helpful, friendly, and attentive. You may see different faces if it gets busy, but it's always the same level of exceptional service. Thanks Mi Dia from Scratch!!!! read more

Great food, margaritas, and service. I had the chicken burrito and my kid had a 2 enchilada plate.

Been wanting to come here for months since this is our oldest's favorite watering hole. Yesterday was the day! Saturday, June 18th we arrived early (3:16pm) to meet out kids for a 3:30 lunch to celebrate Dad's Day. The restaurant was not yet busy & we congratulated ourselves on our perfect choice of lunch service. We were shown to our table of 5 by a friendly host. Upon sitting down we were chatting with excitement and anticipation of all our food & beverage opportunities! A male server brings a pitcher of water to our table to add water to our glasses... strangely there was no ice in the pitcher, nor glasses, only water??!After a long pause Bree appears, and apparently she's our server. Bree is very friendly and somewhat chatty. Even with the long wait to be acknowledged... We are excited to have a friendly waitress. We say nothing about the water & lack of ice because we are excited to try some specialty margaritas and flights of tequila, along with the tableside guac. There are only 3 of us, my other son & DIL have not arrived yet. Well, my oldest orders a house margarita on the rocks, my Hubby orders an 1812 margarita & me the El jefe all with Tajin. It takes quite a long time for our drink service to arrive, my oldest son is starting to look around, he's a tad concerned because he's a regular here. Finally our drinks arrive but we still have no chips and hot sauce. Chips eventually appear and we are ready for a second round of drinks. We still want to order some flights of tequila also. Our other 2 kids have shown up about the same time. My youngest son says how long have Y'all been here... there's no ice in our waters, lol...only 20 minutes. We order a 2nd round of drinks & 2 flights of tequila. Bree disappears and comes back... All I can say is there was a lot of confusion & lack of knowledge about the tequilas. Still no guacamole!!!!!!! Drink service is soooooo slow!!!! Our guacamole finally arrives, from the kitchen, NOT table-side. It's delivered by another server, not that that's an issue, but it took way to long. When our 2nd round of drinks show up Bree announces she will go get our table-side guacamole. Darlin', it's already on the table, lol. Ok, since we have been eating on chips for about 30 minutes & still haven't ordered lunch... It's with great disappointment we decide to just have appetizers. This might be all Bree can handle for a table of five! We order beef fajita nachos, duck carnitas & seabass tacos. Let me also say there was a lot of confusion about the flights of tequila... we are not quite sure what we were sipping but they were all delicious. In the future maybe we should mark the glasses with an eraser pen?? Our food arrived cold, can it get any worse!??? We ate our cold food ordered a 3rd round of drinks, sat in a charming restaurant & enjoyed our visit with our 3 kids. My kids are the only reason I'm giving 2 stars & Not 1, because I believe the missed opportunity of having 5 stars is because we had such lousy service. Bree's sweet, but clueless & soooo slow! From working many years in the Hospitality industry...this was a total train wreck. I so wish another server or management had noticed that our table was there for an exceptional celebration... due to the fact that we were having adult beverages & flights of tequila, we definitely needed a server with more attention to detail/knowledge. Maybe a 2nd gear would've helped?!!! I also was looking forward to trying the De Mar Enchiladas!!!! Such a missed opportunity! Mi Dia, You Seized Our Day... And Squashed It!!! read more
