How best to summarize five stars, great food and service. The restaurant has toll ceilings and a modern look. The immense tequila tower displayed in the bar area offers some of the most exotic tequilas imported from Mexico. By exotic I mean the quality of tequila and the bottle shapes and labels. Some of the bottle are covered in hand sown beads. Flights of tequila are offered on the menu as well, the cost varies based on the quality of the tequila and they do have $200 tequila shots for the tequila consignor. The menu offers a variety of traditional Mexican dishes as well as Tex-mex dishes. The tortilla soup it was the best I have ever had, the freshness of the crema and supper fresh avocado slice served with the soup made the taste and texture amazing. I have also tried the Tex-Mex apple bacon fajitas that were very good. Everything is made from scratch at this place from tortilla, guacamole and the two types of salsa that is served with homemade chips once you sit down. Compliments to the Chef and I will be back! This place is the real deal, has been a favorite for years, food and service are great and consistent.

Nothing to complain about this place. We loved it. The guacamole portion was humongous and shareable and you get to choose your own toppings for the guac. Not a fan of the random tomato chunks, had a weird taste, but fresh tomatoes are good. We know for next time. There's also an option to add bacon, but we opted out. I came here to get my green chile fix and I was not disappointed. The service was a little...odd, and it's really loud in there, but I would definitely come back. I got the combo plate with a green chile cheese enchilada (was not listed an option by my waiter, but he accommodated the request) and a flauta. I love flautas and this one was fine, but don't waste your time. ORDER THE GREEN CHILE! Unless you can't handle the (quite serious) heat, in which case definitely do not. A friend recommended this place some time ago since I love New Mexico cuisine, specifically Santa Fe. Finally tried and wow food is amazing along with service. Shout out to Craig, you made it very special. I'll start with chips and salsa, delicious. Salsa is very flavorful and since they knew I loved New Mexico they brought out a taster of the red and green sauce. Yummy. I ordered the skirt steak and Chile relleno (stuffed with cheese) and both red and green sauce (that's called Christmas in NM). I'm not a rice person but charro beans were very good. What an amazing dining experience - from start to finish, the food and drinks were great and the service was even better! Came here for dinner and this location is much smaller then the Grapevine location. I was expecting the food to have the same good flavor I have come to known. First off the chips and salsa are very good! I ordered the street tacos steak dish. Steak was very bland and has to put salt on it to give some type of flavor. Also the flour tortillas tasted like store bought tortillas. Tried sopapillas for desert and that along with the chips/salsa was the only food I enjoyed on this particular visit. I took home 3 of 4 tacos from the main meal home. The dessert filled me up as the main meal I did not eat except for the fried rice. I will stick to the Grapevine location and won't come be back here in a long time. In a world full of mediocre food, perfection shines like a diamond...and that is exactly what Mi Dia manages to accomplish: perfection. For those that are unaware, Mi Dia translates to "My Day" and boy will they make YOUR day! Even though I've eaten at hundreds of different places, I can count on one hand the number of Mexican/TexMex restaurants that are worthy of a 5 star review. I tend to evaluate most of the places based on three things: their salsa, steak fajitas, and service. Mi Dia not only nails each of these, but they are consistent about it. Fresh chips with the perfect crunch but not too thin where it breaks when you try to scoop salsa, steak fajitas that melt in your mouth and have an incredibly delicious charred flavor, and hands down some of the best service in town. Just to clarify, the fajitas aren't the only good thing on the menu, my wife and I have tried just about half the menu and have yet to have one thing that we weren't happy with. As far as the service goes, Ron, one of the shift managers runs a tight ship and is obviously respected by his teammates. I wish I could remember all our severs names, but Jonas helped us this evening and prompted me to finally leave this review. There are a couple of signs when you arrive at a Mexican restaurant that will let you know what your food experience is going to be like. First test, chips & salsa....Passed with flying colors! Loved their mix of red with green salsa. It had amazing flavor! The chips were light, crisp, with the perfect amount of salt. Next, the house margarita. Since they have a back lit tequila tower of 100 agave tequilas, I knew this would be a home run....And it was! And lastly, the beans. I tried both the charro & refried black beans. They are everything you need them to be! Even though I was pretty full by the time I put together a perfectly balanced fajita, I'm so glad I made room for it. Diner on a Friday night and there was a 45 min wait so we tried our luck at the bar. We didn't make it in time for Happy Hour which is good. Smaller guacamole $1.50 per scoop and $5 margaritas. There aren't a lot of vegetarian options which was challenging for my friend but they worked with us and made her a black bean enchilada with some veggies. The tableside guacamole was delicious but Huge for 2 people! Easily could be shared by 4. The crispy taco was big but doable and the chicken enchilada wasn't smothered in sauce (which made it seem healthy-ish ) but still delicious. It was pricey, (margaritas about $13-15 )hatch margaritas was a 6 out of 10, good selection of Mexican beers, service was good but the bathroom was messy and smelled like sewer gas. Well this was my wife's and my first visit to this Tex Mexican restaurant off north south Tollway. We had no reservations but were provided a table within 2 minutes. Oh my god I talked all the way home to McKinney as it was the best food I've eaten in this area. Our waitress Maria was a 10 star and manage randy stopped by to ask how our first visit was going. My wife had the banana wrapped salmon and I had the deep fried scrimp taco's. Both were also a 10 star, and the home made Rocky Mt ice cream was off the charts. I think I was served virgin margs; no flavor of tequila or Cointreau which were ingredients listed on the menu. At $13 each, they were a big disappointment. Went for brunch and the first thing I noticed was how high the prices were. $13 for a Bloody Mary, but hey at least you get bacon and shrimp in them. Of course, when they arrived they were missing the "garnish." Our server explained, only after we asked, that they were "out." After we mentioned we would probably have ordered something different had we known, we were brought bacon and shrimp on a separate plate. The bacon was blistered and the consistency of a pork rind--may have been deep fried or cooked some other ungodly way. The ox eye stacked enchiladas had no flavor other than bitterness and seemed not to have been salted. Service was very slow, including simple things like bringing water. You can get a much better bloody at Craftway Kitchen nearby for $5--bacon included. You can get a similar style of food, also better and cheaper, at Gloria's or Meso Maya. Delicious fresh food with ample size portions that looks like art on the plate. We all ended up taking half of our entrees home as leftovers because the portions were so hearty. Great attentive service and the bartender made special order drinks for our special occasion. The bacon guacamole made table-side is highly recommended. I really didn't have an issue but my friend did and she never complains. I'll split down the middle. The patio is lovely; however, the fountain is loud and then their music was loud so we couldn't hear the Server at all. She was rushing us in the beginning but stopped when more people arrived; then she sort of became a rbf girl. I did think everyone was nice but the table side guac guys that don't speak English needs to be accompanied by a server for questions. As for the food. It's relatively good but I don't care for oiled up reheated chips. Some of the food was tasty but some of it was off putting. The guacamole was awesome, watching it prepared fresh table side was a really nice touch. The duck carnitas tacos was my favorites. I've never had duck tacos before - it was very tasty with tons of flavor. It was topped with mole coloradito and served with guajillo rice and Oaxacan black beans. The carne adovada a Mexican Style Pork Carnitas came with Hatch Red Chiles, Oaxacan Black Beans, Esquites and blue Corn Tortillas. I'm not a fan of yellow corn but it was really delicious.. We love Mi Dia from Scratch but Saturday night they had an off-night. The table side (non table side) guacamole was good, so was the queso. However I noticed the shrimp fajitas were a tad on the cold side, like they sat waiting to be delivered until they cooled. The chalupas were delicious.
